141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can some AltCoins pump during bear markets ? on: May 20, 2022, 08:36:33 PM
The HEX founder, Richard Heart thinks it could go as low as 12K. He claims he's made 2 successful predictions before. Not that I want to believe him, but his thesis basically is.. we always pull back 80 to 85% from the peak... which was 69K. This makes sense looking at past cycles, and let's face it, in the current economic climate... do you see Bitcoin bouncing back to 100K anytime soon ? But I could definitely see it going lower... and not only for a month or two... maybe for the next 12 to 18 months. It doesn't look like it could happen, until you realize you're already there... and it's too late to get out.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can some AltCoins pump during bear markets ? on: May 20, 2022, 08:03:44 PM
For those who lived during the past bear market ( 2018 /2019 ):

Can AltCoins go against the larger trend and actually pump nicely during a bear market ? I know there was a bit of a pump in 2019, so I don't know.. but right now I'm seeing Gods Unchained, Ox and a few other coins pump even if Bitcoin's Market dominance is still well over 42 %. Lets not also forget the market is still in a downtrend headed for lower lows at the moment. So would there be any point in trying to FOMO into altcoins pumping ?
I personally exited the market almost entirely, plan to re enter when Bitcoin hits 15K or even lower. Then again I've noticed some alts coming desperately close to the negative 98% mark... you have to wonder how much lower can they go
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can you stake Illuvium by itself ? on: May 19, 2022, 07:21:41 PM
Not paired up with anything else I mean. Right now it seems the safest bet in town, aside from stable coins and Gold. Is still up 300% for the year !
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I invest in commodities ? on: May 19, 2022, 07:02:52 PM
Yes ! I heard Gold mining companies are an excellent investment as well. I imagine I could get exposure to something like that for Silver and Copper as well.
The thing is I want to keep these investments in the crypto space. For example, I bought PAX Gold, 100% legit crypto project backed by real gold bars. Nearly 6 figures worth so not a small amount. So the idea for me is to at least have some exposure to Silver, Copper and commodities in general through a Crypto friendly exchange like FTX ( preferably an alternative to FTX without KYC ) Originally I wanted to invest in the big tech giants like Google, Amazon, Tesla, Apple, but experts seem to think this is not the time for high tech, as they are seen as "high risk" for the most part.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I invest in commodities ? on: May 19, 2022, 06:10:30 PM
So am I the only one here investing in Gold ? Interesting. And are you people aware Gold is expected to reach new highs soon while BItcoin is expected to go much lower over the next 12 months ?
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is SAFUU in trouble ? on: May 19, 2022, 06:02:03 PM
Okay, so if we assume it is a scam ... can anyone tell me.. how is it a scam ? I've been on it for a couple of weeks only and as I said earlier it is delivering on its promise so far.. 2% daily compound interest on your investment. The caveat is you're paid in SAFUU tokens ( I've earned about 5 so far ), so in a bear market, this will not make you money. The tokens are today worth half what I paid for them, and I thought I was buying them low. But getting back to SAFUU... I think the project is perfectly sustainable during a bear market, as the payouts get lower and lower and the tax rates remain high. The thing is they need to survive this bear market of the project may go under. In a bull run, having 100 SAFUU tokens may make you a lot of money in a very short amount of time, but you'll still need to pay taxes to sell. In a bear market, you will still lose money with SAFUU just like you would with any other ALT coin, and even with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is SAFUU in trouble ? on: May 19, 2022, 10:30:45 AM
I'm pretty sure is my lack of DeFi skills that caused the transaction to fail. ( I migrated from a centralized exchange to a DeFi wallet less than 1 week ago ) I will try again once I figure out why it didn't work out.
Regarding SAFUU, no need to call every project in the red a scam... especially without specific evidence or references to back it up. SAFUU is down, yes, but so is every other altcoin in crypto. We're in a bear market !
Anyway, who knows how things will play out for some of these projects.
I did go and check the trust score of SAFUU on Scamadviser, and it was 100 / 100

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is SAFUU in trouble ? on: May 18, 2022, 09:14:29 PM
So my transaction did not go through even though the BSC SCan reads "Success" Very strange.

Anyway, I still got my 23 SAFUU tokens. Probably headed to much lower, but I figured as long as the project is still working, it's just a matter of waiting for the bear market to be over. I also thought about the very real possibility this project may try a "rug pull".... frankly, I think the chances are extremely unlikely now... as the value of the tokens is lower and lower, there would be no point in trying to steal millions of worthless tokens. The most likely scenario for this or any other DeFi project is that they do a pump and dump, so they get as many people on board as possible, pump the price back to all time highs, and when it's very near the top, runaway with all our money. So the main risk here is the project getting wiped out by the brutal bear market... which is a risk you'll find in most other legit low caps
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is SAFUU in trouble ? on: May 18, 2022, 06:18:28 PM
Coingecko warns:

"We have received allegations that SAFUU is connected to Fitrova and Clever DeFi, both which has been abandoned. Proceed with extreme caution "

And SAFUU lost 41% of it's value in just one day. I knew this was a suspect project, but in my experience ( I bought 17 SAFUU, now I have 22 ), it works as intended, they do deliver on their promise, but pay you in SAFUU tokens... not their fault that their tokens are losing more and more value every day, and may eventually go to $1 or something ridiculous like that.

P.S. I tried to sell my SAFUU tokens yesterday through bogged finance ( their default trading app ), could not do it. I mean the trade seem to work, but all my SAFUU tokens are still there, 2 hours later ! No Idea why.

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA be recovered ever? on: May 17, 2022, 08:25:46 PM
Looks like a big scam to me, especially now that the UST is back at $1 and stable.

The hell are you talking about ? UST is 92% off it's peg and currently sits at 0.0895
Where do you get this $1 figure from ?
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Squid Game still listed ? on: May 17, 2022, 08:17:38 PM
I was shocked to find this project is still listed on CoinGecko and even doing well relative to other projects, up 5% today. The question is why ? Wasn't this proven to be a scam ?
Meanwhile LUNA is worth even less than Squid Game token, I think it's pretty much over for LUNA if it can't even beat Squid Game..  Cry
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is everyone that got in late last year in the red now ? How bad is it ? on: May 17, 2022, 07:32:19 PM
But did you sell some of your Bitcoin last bullrun or you prefer to keep holding?

I sold everything into PAX Gold a few days ago. I've looked into this prior to that, and most good investors outside of crypto ( people moving millions of dollars a year ) rely on "stop losses" targets. That means there hast to be a limit to how much you are willing to lose. For me the limit was somewhere between 2 and 3 times my initial investment in 2020, so when it hit that target, I was out. No regrets now, I can always get back in when the market is much lower, which it looks like it it where things are heading now. If I time the bottom correctly, I can easily make another 3X on my money.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 17, 2022, 07:08:16 PM
If you follow Kitco on YouTube you would know many of the experts outside crypto ( people with 30 and 40+ years of experience in financial investments ) are going back to Gold and Silver. Gold especially, is not only uncorrelated to Bitcoin and Stocks, but also known to do well when Bitcoin is doing badly, so that makes it a good alternative for the bear market. During a Bitcoin bull run, Gold has no chance, but who knows when that will start again, maybe late 2024.
154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 17, 2022, 06:57:07 PM
Perhaps one of the first things I would do during a bear market ( which I have already done ) is to exit your positions as soon as you sense your heading much lower. I exited LUNA for instance, around $30, next day I checked it was at around $1, so that was a good move. You may think prices are low now, wait till Bitcoin hits 11K. And yes, this target is from a credible source, he's a bit of an arrogant prick but he's been in crypto since 2010 and his predictions have been on point twice before.
The other thing I would do is exit your centralized exchange and learn MetaMask and DeFi. In fact, learn as much as you can about investing and crypto in general. Now that nothing is growing it's the time to prepare for the next cycle.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I invest in commodities ? on: May 17, 2022, 06:33:26 PM
Not very practical or safe to hold large amounts of physical Gold if you ask me. And you don't have the liquidity or ease of access you do have with something like PAX Gold. I could easily convert my PAX Gold into cash if I needed the money, or purchase some goods and services with it without even converting it ( with a VISA crypto card for example ) So to me it's like a less volatile version of Bitcoin. Great for the bear market which is where we are. I just wish there was a similar crypto version of Silver. By the way, I exited the market a few days ago, went all in with PAX Gold, but now I'm thinking of putting a bit into commodities if I can.
156  Economy / Trading Discussion / Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 17, 2022, 11:26:08 AM
So lets go back to 2018 - 2019

Market cycles are full of patterns so I think it's time to sit back, compare and try to come up with a good strategy for the next 2 years.

Assuming we are in a bear market, what can we expect ? Let me first just say that this is my first bear market, so I feel a little unprepared as I lost a huge amount of money ( I'm still in the green fortunately )
It's tempting to start "accumulating", however, Bitcoin is expected to hit a bottom of 11K by some credible experts, so buy now and cry later kind of thing.
I see some Alt coins going past the negative 90 % mark, with some like Star Atlas ( one of the biggest play to earn games in crypto ) approaching the negative 99 % mark. Many other projects find themselves in a similar predicament, but I just noticed UMA, Injective Protocol and Super Rare pumping hard today and yesterday so not everything is in the red. Can we expect some sort of a trend here ? Are some coins bound to do well even during a bear market ? From what I've heard, early ( 2018 - 2019 ) investors in Theta, Chainlink and Ethereum made huge gains even before the bull run started late 2020. Chainlink especially went parabolic, but then crashed mid year. Early 2019 AAVE investors also did extremely well, 5000 % gains from what I hear. All this during the bear market. Gains that were comparable or even better to the bull run. So am I reading it wrong ? Let me know.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I invest in commodities ? on: May 17, 2022, 10:57:00 AM
As always, I'll get the ball rolling. UMA claims you can track the value of anything but I don't see a working APP where you can do that, how you can use it, nothing. Maybe it's still in the works ?
Just remembered, Injective Protocol is another good one, like FTX, but smaller and newer. Unfortunately last time I checked nothing was working, it was not ready, looked promising, but nowhere near ready like FTX is.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How can I invest in commodities ? on: May 17, 2022, 10:53:44 AM
May seem odd but in this volatile markets stocks and crypto are no longer viable. I heard commodities and Gold have a good outlook for the rest of the year, so not just staying strong, but actually increasing in value. So how can I invest a part of my portfolio in these ?
Preferably I want to stay in the crypto space and invest in commodities within crypto. For example, I'm already invested into PAX Gold. I think FTX can give me access to stocks and commodities but they ask for KYC.  UMA and Synthetics also seem like a good option, not sure if they have KYC.
HOpe this question gets at least a couple of responses, don't make me think it's all newbies and meme lovers on this forum.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How far below 99 % can you go ? on: May 16, 2022, 09:02:12 PM
We're nowhere near the bottom for Bitcoin for this cycle, and already some of my favourite projects like LABS ( Tokenized Real Estate ), Star Atlas ( play to earn ) , Blocktopia ( Metaverse ) and many others are approaching negative 99 %. How far down can they go ? Could some of these great projects be on the verge of getting wiped out ? The three I mentioned are absolutely top-notch projects, which could easily fit well into the top 100 in the next bull run. Would projects this good get wiped out ? Or could they keep falling lower and lower... maybe to negative 99.99999999999 % ?
Incidentally, Terra LUNA is giving us a good example of this crazy situation... a few days ago the token went from 0.000001 to 0001 or something like that, made a few people crazy 20X gains even though the token was technically at zero ( or negative 99.99999 % )
