141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: March 03, 2024, 06:57:46 AM
Playing gambling for fun is what we have to do because we need to avoid the desire to win the gambling game. We will be difficult to win because gambling is not designed to give winning for us but for the casino. But some people can win some gambling games.
We have to remember that the casino will be the winner, so when playing gambling, we have to limit ourselves to gambling. If not, we will only experience many losses and can't recover from those losses.
We have to avoid gambling addiction because many gamblers already become addicted without realizing it. And we must remember only to use the money we can afford to gamble.

I think there are varying opinions on what and how gambling is and should be played. I think there are people who see gambling less as an entertainment and more of an option on how to win some more money.
While they see it as an option to win some more money, it doesn’t mean that they’re going to chase their losses so far down, they’ll become addicts. Notably with gambling, you’re more likely to have more losses than wins but that hasn’t stopped people from trying out heir lucks to see if they could win some extra bucks.

I think people are more aware of gambling and how much it could have an effect on their lives when handled irresponsibly. So while trying to win some money in the process, they’re careful not to let irresponsibility in gambling have a grasp on them.
Not everyone plays for entertainment. Some actually do play to get some more money.
142  Economy / Economics / Re: I went London i have questions now the wealthy life there on: March 02, 2024, 10:27:49 PM
You would pretty much find the capital city of most countries of the earth to be filled with good vibes, happy and wealthy people. You’ll find that in most capital cities of various countries, it’s not entirely cheap to generally live there so you should expect to see sights like that.

People are different and therefore, have different tastes and preferences on how to spend their money. You coincidentally happened upon several scenes where wealth was displayed in London and automatically had the opinion that the standard of living in the UK is much higher.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 02, 2024, 09:02:11 PM
I’ve always had considerable interest in all the games I’ve ever placed a bet on. Why put money to bet on games I have no interest in? I’m worried enough about the ones I’ve got interest in and hoping for a positive outcome.
But I’ve also known people who place random bets with small amounts. They’ve also had wins and losses as well.
Perhaps some individuals who gamble could have some extra money that they could literally play around with. It’s wholly dependent on the individual and how he/she chooses to gamble.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 02, 2024, 06:51:05 PM
Liverpool got a very dramatic victory. I thought that Liverpool would get an easy win, but I was wrong because it turns out that Nottingham Forest has a pretty good defense which made it difficult for Liverpool to create opportunities. Luckily Liverpool was able to maintain their composure until the match ended, and because of their persistence, they were able to get good results. Even though they could only win 1-0, but this meant a lot for Liverpool because the burden they felt in this match would be shifted to Man City and Arsenal.

I too had the same thoughts of Liverpool having an easy win against Nottingham Forest which was clearly the weaker side amongst them. The game was pretty much dominated by Liverpool who surprisingly, found it quite difficult to score despite having more of the ball.
Nottingham Forest had a sturdy defense and perhaps that contributed to the fact that Liverpool could only get few shots that actually found it’s target.

Liverpool didn’t relent and was rewarded with the win. Claiming the three points what matters and they did just that.
145  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: March 01, 2024, 11:54:16 PM
The end doesn’t always justify the means. And no, it ain’t all about the money. There are other things in life that money cannot possibly get you. You can have all the benefits and items money could provide but still lack fulfillment.
You’re all talk about making the money using any means but have actually failed to say just how you’re going to make the money without going through said ideal process that has been accepted by people in the society.

The society would only see you as less of a person if you’re a bum and being unproductive for yourself and your immediate society.
146  Economy / Economics / Re: keep pleasures without incomes aside and Chase after profits on: March 01, 2024, 11:32:15 PM
Everyone irrespective of their gender is attracted to a good life and the pleasures life has to offer. I can assure you it’s not just women that are attracted to the pleasures of life.
If you had truly wanted to celebrate and have a good time with the wife on your marriage anniversary, you would have planned and saved towards it.
You’ve got to get priorities and while it’s really good to build up your wealth and trying to minimize costs and expenses along the way, you should really not forget to spend your time and money on close friends and family.

Keeping the wife and family happy is as important(perhaps more)as trying to invest and grow your wealth.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: March 01, 2024, 10:57:22 PM
Consider. Your discipline is eroded when you breach your own rules. The slope is steep. Tomorrow, you'll doubt their existence after bending them today. What then? Friends, you're lost in fancies, far from rationality and prosperity. Remember, constancy is your armor in the war of wills against complacency

Your discipline wears off slowly but surely when you break your own rules. You may try to convince and tell yourself it’s just one time but if you excuse yourself just once, you’re going to keep excusing yourself. It’s much better to stay focused and to remain strong willed.
I know firsthand just how discipline is needed for one to overcome tempting challenges. Without consistency in keeping up with said rules, it would be really easy for your habits and actions to take a dark turn.
148  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: March 01, 2024, 08:03:39 PM
Yes, it’s quite crazy the growing number of people who take out loans for the primary purpose of gambling with it. And a good portion of these folks end up having massive gambling debts and sometimes, end up kicking the bucket without paying off his debts.
Loans are majorly taken out and backed with a valid collateral that’s equal to or higher than the value of the loan. And just cause it’s termed a gambling debt, doesn’t mean it’s not a debt that should be settled.

If the individual has nothing of value that could be sod to recover monies owed at the time of passing away, then the debt would be written off as a bad debt. It happens.
149  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 01, 2024, 06:51:37 PM
I think for a lot of people, children are the reality check that is needed for the individual to turn over a new leaf and become more responsible with his actions and habits.
Infants and young children require a great deal of care and attention and they’ve got a whole lot old needs that has to be provided. Someone irresponsible just cannot juggle between being a good parent and being at the casino gambling.
Read a thread way back about a father who was supposed to watch over the kids but still left them to go gamble.

If you’re purely an irresponsible individual, having kids won’t change anything.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 01, 2024, 05:52:31 PM
In my opinion, Pogba took the wrong step because in the midst of his waning career he actually added to the problem by carrying out prohibited activities so this will only make him no longer called a famous player. So for 4 years I thought everything was over and saw the sanctions as a step towards retiring sooner. His productivity has also decreased and there is nothing more we can expect from him. Pogba is one of those players who cannot control his own world. Instead of trying to play it safe, at his no longer young age, he ended his career in the wrong way.

Your opinion is likely shared by many. It’s obvious he took a wrong step in his career as he has been found wanting in relating to doping and has been banned for four years.
I think he could have a difficult time coming back to play professional football and actually be wanted by various clubs like he once was after going through all of this. But if he’s still active, playing good football and getting better at his skills, then his age after the match ban wouldn’t mean much as clubs would still be willing to have him on their squad.

I think we all, at some point have little control on what goes on around us. But admittedly, he made a mistake and  now facing the consequences.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 29, 2024, 10:44:50 PM
You made those rules for yourself. I assume they’re supposed to keep you in check so as not to go overboard with your activities. I would would recommend that you stick to your rules. You set those rules for a good reason I suspect so therefore, you should adhere to it.

You wouldn’t think not to follow those rules if you were suffering heavy losses now, would you? The rules would be easier to follow if you were suffering losses but now you’re having more wins, the rules doesn’t seem to matter and you’re likely thinking of bending the rules a bit.  Don’t.

Break it today, what stops you from breaking it some more tomorrow? When you’ve gone against your own rules over and over again, you won’t see any need to have such rules anymore and would likely do away with it.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 29, 2024, 10:05:27 PM
BREAKING:

Pogba has been banned from football for four years because of doping. It's really unfortunate how he ruined his career at the theater of nightmares.

He's facing a tough time ahead, but there's still a chance for him to come back stronger and better. Otherwise, this might be the end of Paul Pogba's football career. After four years, he won't be involved in football anymore. It's sad to think we might lose one of the most talented midfielders.

This is no doubt, a major blow to his career. This would have a telling effect on his future in football: that is if there’s going to be any when his match ban is lifted.
I saw this news while going through Twitter earlier and I thought this would be really damaging. Saw an old video of when he was at Man United and got random roping tests just after getting off the field from a game. I had thought that perhaps, he was suspected then.

After four years, I don’t know if he would make a comeback or if he even could. Could this be appealed in the hopes of getting a lesser punishment?
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: your perception about gambling on: February 29, 2024, 08:01:12 PM
Anyone who has reached the legally recognized maturity age of 18 and older could gamble. It’s restricted to only folks 18 and lower. No discrimination either against anyone based on religion, societal status nor gender. It welcomes all who’s willing to risk a little or part of their money to gamble.

The society has overtime labeled gambling as an activity that breeds irresponsibility in individuals. Due to a good number of gamblers behaving irresponsibly due to whatever reasons, gambling has had somewhat of a stigma associated with it.
Online casinos today has helped solved the issue of going to a physical casino and for private players, this option is very much appreciated.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 29, 2024, 03:46:52 PM
One, you must above 18 years in my country and secondly you must have an experience to play, so I want to know if inexperienced people can also play gamble.
For one to be able to participate in gambling you must be 18+ which is the first rules of gambling platforms. Having experience in gambling before you can play or gamble is not necessary because gambling games are luck based e.g slot machine, roulette or scratch card etc.. so experience is not vital. If you are 18+ and you are willing to gamble All you need is just to know how games are played and be familiar with the game the rest is luck. To boost your luck in gambling stay positive, have fun, trust in your instincts.

Having experience isn’t a requirement for one to begin gambling as it’s not necessary. Having experience may come in handy perhaps in sports betting when trying to predict outcome of certain games based on each team statistics.
But even with all of that, it almost always doesn’t go as planned and mostly comes down to being lucky enough. Obviously, Knowing a thing or two about the games you’re betting on would be a good idea before delving in.
There also isn’t a casino operating today that has experience as a requirement for one to play.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You See Losing Your Weekly Payment to The Casino on: February 29, 2024, 02:45:53 PM
How do you see losing your payment to the casino?

Do you see losing your payment back to the casino as your own form of indirect support for the project?

Do you think that I already have a bad gambling mindset thinking that by engaging in one or two bets or games I am supporting the project I promote?

This topic is for general discussions,  but I would like to hear and read what those who are promoting casinos/book markers that pay them directly into their casino accounts.

1. You do not indirectly show support to a  casino by losing. You’re merely playing and trying to win some extra bucks on the side but you ended up having a loss.
Spreading some good reviews to your gambling buddies and perhaps, also playing with a casino is quite the support.

2. I wouldn’t exactly say you’ve got a bad mindset about all this. And I think playing consistently with a particular casino is in a way supporting them. Ask around; any business would appreciate a loyal patron.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 25, 2024, 05:40:46 PM
This is a fact that a lot of people have failed to put into consideration. If a person is struggling to pay their bills or meet their basic needs, then gambling isn't the best option for them, I know for some reason, gambling might look like the best way to multiply your money and then use it to pay off your outstanding bills. But this is the worse lie anyone can ever tell you, sometimes we even tell ourselves this lie, please whenever you feel that way, get rid of the thought else you might end up worsening your current situation by incurring more debts for yourself.

In an activity that people are likely to have losses more than they have wins, it would suicidal for anyone to use gambling as a means to service or clear a debt.
Thinking rationally, it’s quite obvious that gambling is not a considerable path to follow in the pursuit of clearing a loan. But when people are in a fix and are under some pressure to repay a loan or to raise some money quickly, rational thoughts quickly fade away and they begin thinking irrationally. That is when gambling starts to look like a good avenue to make money quickly.

By the time you start thinking rationally again, you’ll be left with no more money in your pockets and likely worse off than when you stepped into the casino.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: February 25, 2024, 05:23:43 PM
Both are more or less the same and it’s crazy that people would think less of one while thinking highly of the other as people lose and win money from both avenues.
Understandably, with the lotto, chances of spending more money is slim compared to when you’re engaged and active in the cockpits where the event is ongoing and fresh bets are being placed. But if one loses all the money in his possession from placing bets over and over, the fault lies solely with that individual.

No one forces anyone to place continuous bets in the cockpits. I can understand the enthusiasm as well as the excitement that engulfs the crowd could motivate one to bet more. And if you do bet more and lose more, you accept the outcome that your actions has led to. In this scenario, it’s more befitting to blame the player and not the game.
158  Economy / Economics / Re: World fight over resources don't live in country where is a lot natural resource on: February 25, 2024, 02:26:03 PM
With your post, one could assume you would prefer living in an impoverished country with no resources that are highly sought after and where your standard of living is sure to be low.
On the contrary, I would think living in a country where resources highly sought after by other countries are found would be more better.

If a country has a huge deposit of some resources that is highly sought after, what would be needed is a government that is willing and able to make favorable trade agreements and deals that would also bring in investment opportunities that would overall grow the economy and increase the standard of living for its citizens.

A government committed to the welfare of its citizens and overall development of the country is all you need in this scenario. There’s no need to leave your country.
159  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: February 25, 2024, 01:25:42 PM

since there are a lot of judgmental people around especially now, it's really better to keep the gambling activities we do to ourselves to avoid hearing opinions from other people. I won't lie but I became that kind of person too, especially when famous personalities have issues related to money and gambling, it's easy to judge them because when we hear the word gambling, negative thoughts immediately come to mind.

I would prefer keeping my gambling activities private as it literally doesn’t concern anyone else. Keeping your activities secret cause of what people might say about you is pretty weak. I really do understand how some societies frown upon gambling and gamblers and how some ignorant individuals are quick to give unsolicited and quite useless opinions.
You should understand that people would always have something to say irregardless of what the situation may be. People are quick to judge others and call out what they perceive to be wrong in their lives while being totally oblivious to the wrongdoings in their own lives.

It would be nice if you wouldn’t dwell so much on what people would think of you. You can be the most generous person on earth but would still have people who hate your guts.
160  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: February 25, 2024, 12:49:51 PM
To me Elon is doing quite well for Twitter, its his company why should you interfere, I don't remember him asking money from you to buy Twitter so what he does with it its his business, and I don't see any fault in what he has done so far, reducing the cost wasted on workers, branding Twitter with a better name X, he has even added more features, I even head some persons are earning off X right now.

I don’t know. Couldn’t he have picked a more suitable name for the social media app instead of just going with X? Choosing between the name Twitter and X, I would go with Twitter over and over again.
As for asking for money to buy the app, he didn’t personally ask me lol. But it’s obvious he’s trying to recoup some money from users following the verification mark that can now be bought by anyone having $8.

And yea, a lot of people are now earning from the app. We’ve got so called “independent journalists” going about peddling misinformation and outright lies so they could also cash in. These folks don’t care about pushing the truth. Rage baiting tweets and lies are what would bring in the views and clicks which in turn,  equates money.
