141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making a long post is not the ultimate on: May 16, 2024, 08:24:30 PM
The problem is that you realise that the post is not worth the time reading it after you lost too much time reading it Sad

This usually happens to me.
It even happened to me reading the post that was quoted by OP. I read the first part hoping so dearly he would make sense, but along the line I knew it wasn't worth it.

I do read long post, but the moment I figure it's not worth it, I just skip it. Aside from the skipping a post because it doesn't make sense, when a post if just jam-packed together with no proper spacing and paragraphing, I tend to skip them. I don't care if the post is long, it should have sense and it should be easy to read.
142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People are interesting talking more about their success stories. on: May 16, 2024, 08:08:00 PM
This is not entirely true. I see a lot t stories of people who went about bitcoin and crypto the wrong way and they failed and learnt from that failure both on thie forum and social media. It's not just success stories that people tell about bitcoin. People also point how their mistakes and how it ruined them. Same way people talk about how gambling ruined them, they don't know talk about the success stories.

The saying "invest what you can afford to lose" gamble with what you can afford to lose", "have an understanding of something before investing in it" are like anthems on this forum. Advices like these didn't come from success stories. They're warnings that you can lose your money in this and you should b careful.
143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a newbie make investment before learning? on: May 16, 2024, 06:01:57 PM
You clearly are a very newbie indeed for coming up with such a post that sounds rhetoric or should I say you just need the attention.
Why should someone without a proper investment knowledge, invest their hard earned money and hope to make profit, before they then learn about what they have invested in and hope to invest more, make more profit and become a professional all of a sudden?
It makes no absolute sense, infact how does the learner acquire the investment and keep it safe before they learn how to?

You attack him like the question he asked is absolutely stupid. I agree that his post could have been placed better, but the question he asked is a legit question. A lot of people invest in what they don't understand and it's not just in bitcoin. People invest in different things when they don't fully understand it, foreign exchange, stock etc and this is what makes people fall into Ponzi schemes. If they took their time to understand what they were getting into before going into it, they would have realised that it's a scam.

The thing is, Ponzi schemes won't let you understand it because that way they'll be caught, so they'll preach to you that the more you wait the more you lose an opportunity, bitcoin isn't so. There's no point to rush. Bitcoin is not going anywhere. Don't be pressured to start investing. Don't make your decisions based on FOMO. This should apply to every other investment. Have at least the basic understanding of of whatever you want to invest in.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: May 16, 2024, 05:00:40 PM
One reason sports fans like to bet on the sports they love. It's more fun when you predict the winner of a game or how a certain option in a game will be. It's more fun when you can put money on it.
It's a sports they know and understand, they know the strengths of these teams, their history and this makes it easier to predict how a game will turn out.

Also, there is the fact that people prefer something that is not computerized. Other online casino games are computerized are not really trusted by a lot of people while in sports betting, it's up to the players and not a computer program, so it's more difficult to manipulate. In sports betting if you lose it would be because you predicted wrongly and no fault of the casino, but you see people blaming the casinos when they lose in other casino games.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 15, 2024, 07:04:02 PM
You're right. There's this belief that you might get it next time and if you refuse, a part of you will constantly hunt you with something like "What if the next one is your lucky bet". I believe this happens to every gambler. You're betting and you're losing, but you just go ahead believing one win and you've recovered all your losses and that makes you constantly placing more bets.

I don't really know if it's always greed. Greed to me is when you just can't get enough. You keep wanting more. While greed may be the cause of some people chasing their losses, some just want to recover what they've lost, that's not greed is it?
146  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corrupt leaders are made foolish people. on: May 15, 2024, 06:53:37 PM
These leaders, especially the ones in Africa know these things, so they weaponize it. They know with exposure, literacy, and personal growth people would move past mindsets like that, so they make sure these people don't have these things. Instead, they just keep promising them these things and never give them anything.

The majority of the voters in these African countries are either illiterate, have very poor education, or have no education at all so they're easier to manipulate. This makes it easy to weaponize what they can use against their people. This is one reason why the region is in a pitiful state. The whole system is so rigged to the extent that the ones who understand and know what should be done are either too blinded by greed and selfishness that they'll only seek to enrich themselves through corruption or too blinded by tribe. They have the fallacy believe that if a politician is from their tribe or region, it will benefit them.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 15, 2024, 06:36:50 PM
EPL is tough and we know that. Pep Guardiola knows how to handle his opponents, giving his rivals hope but nothing ended well. Arsenal have hope because there's still chances for Manchester City to lose against Westham United but the odds are very slim. Manchester City would have recorded lose or dropped in point, it will be against Tottenham Hotspur last night but they didn't and this brought sadness on the faces or Arsenal and their fans who craved winnings.

I think the EPL is not at Pep Guardiola's level. People always try to undermine his success by saying he's winning because he spends money, but I'm yet to see any team that is winning today without spending money. Manchester City is not even the team that has spent the most money in the league recently. You have teams like Chelsea and Manchester United who spend so much money but they're not winning.
Pep is very good at winning the league. He may not be that good with the Champions League, but the league is his forte. In the premier league, there's no club to compete with him. With Klopp leaving, it's looking like Man City will win it 5 times out of 5 next season because Arsenal still won't be able to stop them, and neither would Manchester United or Chelsea.
The EPL would only be a competitive league again when Pep leaves.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 15, 2024, 06:18:56 PM
Xavi Hernández stay at the Barcelona is going to be positive new even they are facing huge financial problems with things are going to be in positive way as we are having updates about Barcelona is going to sell few high salaried players who are going to cut their financial problems with they are also going to have few new players which are much needed for them in these circumstances because if they want to challenge Real Madrid then surely changes are essential for them with changes they can't compete at the top level.

If Xavi wants to succeed next season he has to change his tactics. His team has to be more daring, they have to be more direct, they have to create a lot of chances, and always be a threat to their opponents. This season in most matches Barcelona played without much threat. They just relied on passing the ball around. Playing like that is good, but they have to keep pressing the opposition instead of just keeping them relaxed.

Another thing that's going to help Barcelona compete next season is how well they do in the transfer market. Real Madrid has a goal of winning the league back to back because they haven't done that since 2008, and we can see how well they're preparing, so if Barcelona wants to be able to compete with Real Madrid, they have to sign good players.
149  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is all wealth? on: May 15, 2024, 05:19:46 PM
Money can buy everything in this life. Only redemption and life money can't get you but when it comes to all the things that one can achieve on earth, of course, money can give you that. It is worse when you do not have money that is how the world is, people do not see any good in you if you are poor, they don't value you no matter what potential you have.

I get where you're coming from, I truly do. I know how important I am in this world trust me I do, I also live in this world, but I believe we've placed too much importance on money. If money can get you everything why do you have depressed millionaires and rich people committing suicide? Only poor people should be unhappy and kill themselves.
I believe you need money to be happy, but money is not the only prerequisite for happiness. You can have money and still be unhappy.

I'm not implying that money is not important, and neither am I saying money won't give you happiness, I'm saying you can have all the money in the world and still be unhappy. This means, as much as you need money to be happy, money alone won't make you happy.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 14, 2024, 12:12:57 PM
It wasn't Barcelona's best game, but Xavi's recent games have been difficult and they were lucky to regain second place. But if Xavi wants to make the team stronger, he will have to work very hard in the transfer market in the summer. And he should learn to accept criticism as part of his job, because the team has different times, there are downturns and in such periods they will blame him, he need to be prepared for this. But in order to compete with such a Real you need to try very hard, and spend a lot of money, and in Barcelona there are still big problems with this.

It's actually funny how a loss that ruin a club season. Barcelona were in very good form before they lost to Paris in the Champions League. They had beaten Atletico Madrid and gained confidence. The loss against Paris broke their spirit and they went back to the default setting. My bet was on Real Sociedad to win or draw yesterday, I lost the bet but the inconsistency of Barcelona made me make that bet.

The season is already over and Barcelona have a lot of work to do. They need to offload a lot of players to make space for new ones. They need quality players. Contrary to popular belief, I don't believe you have to break the bank to get quality players. Just two big signings and proper scouting can reinforce a team like Barcelona. The club needs to work harder in that regard. Scout the whole of Europe and South American players that are good and can fit into their system. They need a world-class DM and two wingers, plus a world-class midfielder. If they get these players and the coach does his job, they should be able to compete next season.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Lega Serie A 🇮🇹 (Italian League) Prediction Thread 2023/2024⚽ on: May 14, 2024, 12:06:18 PM
Bologna next week will meet Juventus, this really depends on their third position because Juventus is also aiming for third place, meaning Bologna must be able to win especially since they will be playing at home.

If not for the fact that Bologna too can be inconsistent recently, I would have gone with a win for Bologna. Bologna winning Napoli was not too big a deal because Napoli are really out of form this season and even though they manage to win some games, they've had a pretty bad season. Bologna on the other hand has been good so I expected them to win Napoli.
Juventus is going to be a big test for them. What I'm sure of to a certain level is that Bologna won't lose that match. The worst might be a draw. This year, I think the only league match Bologna has lost at home was against Inter Milan and that's understandable. Inter are the best team in the league this season and it was only a 1-0 win. Aside from that, Bologna never lost at home. A double chance option for Bologna won't be a bad idea, plus the odds won't be small.

Another team I would like to see in the Champions League next season is Roma. I'd like to see how De Rossi performs in the UCL, unfortunately, they might have blown their chances of Champions League football when they lost to Atalanta last week. Roma haven't won any of their past 5 games, that's worrisome.
152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: May 14, 2024, 05:37:12 AM
Trading is for everyone, but they have to learn trading first. It is not easy to have good trading skills because it requires a process.

Everybody can learn whatever they want to learn, but we all need to understand that not everyone will do a particular thing and that's fine. Not everybody would be a trader, not everybody would be a holder, not everybody would even own or use Bitcoin and that's okay, the cab all make their own choices.
If people want to trade, then let them trade, if they want to hold, let them hold, if they also want to do both, they're free. It's a free world.
Trading is a skill, I agree that most newbies don't fully understand it and a lot are going to it for different reasons but a skill can be learned if you have an interest in it. They're free to do whatever they want.

I see some Bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts make it seem like people who are not involved in crypto are wasting their time. It shouldn't be so. Not everybody would own bitcoin, we can't force people to do what we do. Let people make whatever decision they want, the role of this forum is to guide people in their decision to hold, trade, or both.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 14, 2024, 02:29:58 AM
The same Tottenham that Arsenal beat to 3 goals to 1 or there is another Tottenham in another place? The same Tottenham that had 4 losses in a row and had 1 win against Burnley a relegation team is what you guys think will teach Manchester City a lesson? A team that has not lose match as of recent and want to win the Premier League, if this is not capping then I think you are fan of Tottenham and you are only trying to defend them.

Well, he didn't say Tottenham would win or teach Manchester City a lesson. When Tottenham were in a worst form than they are now they got a 4-4 draw from Manchester City if you can remember. I don't expect Manchester City to lose that game, they won't even draw, in my opinion, it's going to be a straight win for Manchester City, but we've been watching football long enough to know how funny it is. The fact that Tottenham is not a reliable team and always fumble and bottle when needed doesn't mean they can't take points from Man City. It's football. If winning was certain for Man City then they won't have any odd to win at all against Tottenham, or maybe the odd would be 1.02.
Knowing Manchester City and how they are in these type of situation makes you know they don't joke with these type of opportunities, but like I said, it's football.

It's hard to justify how Liverpool went from sitting comfortably with a 1-3 scoreline for majority of the second half only to lose their shit in the closing stages that allowed Villa to score 2 in the final 5 minutes of regular time. I'm forced to think that those 4 changes that Klopp made in the 75th minute that saw Endo, Elliot, Diaz, and Gakpo get subbed off had a huge impact for the remainder of the game. There was no Endo to track back on the Villa attacks when they came calling. Liverpool should've done better.

It's similar to how their season has gone. They were the favorites for the league and Europa at a point and all of a sudden everything nose-dived. Now I believe Klopp when he said he's tired, I think he really needs that rest.
They were still in the title race when it was 10 games to go and they looked like a team that was ready to fight and win every game till the end of the season just as Man City and Arsenal are fighting right now, but the loss against Atalanta and Crystal Palace robbed them of more than just 3 points, I think it also took their fighting spirit.
154  Other / Meta / Re: Could there be a "like button"? on: May 14, 2024, 02:06:34 AM
I get where you're coming from but a "like" button or anything similar is totally unnecessary. If you do not have enough merits to give and you see a merit-worthy post, someone has already suggested you report the post to any of the merit-awarding threads, that way you can help the post get more attention and more merits.
Having merits as the only things that can be used to appreciate a post is okay. What makes it perfect is the fact that you need those merits, together with your activity on the forum to rank up. In my opinion, this makes it a balanced system. Your work and contributions on the forum decide your rank. Then there's the fact that you have to receive merits, to be able to give out merits. Except anything better comes up in the future, the system is perfect the way it is, for now at least.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 13, 2024, 09:21:22 PM
Mourinho gradually changed his defensive style of play at Roma compared to when he was at Chelsea and Inter Milan. He has also improved on his relationship with players as we saw in his last club. My view is that his time has passed and he should move to average clubs. Uncommon old tacticians and young coaches now rule the coaching world. Young coaches who have fresh ideas and a taking over the coaching sphere and any coach who fails to move with this advancement become outdated.

I don't think Mourinho changed his tactics at Roma. Roma was still a very defensive team under Mourinho. While Mou was at Roma, you'll hardly see Roma attack in numbers, they're always conscious of the defense. This is a good way to play, but coaches these days have found a way to constantly have numbers in attack and always have numbers when defending and do both constantly.
Look at how Ancelotti's Real Madrid plays. They attack in full and defend in full, the same with Arterta's Arsenal and Pep's Man City. This kind of play makes the team score more goals because they attract more and since they defend together, they don't concede too much.

I think Mourinho needs to redefine his tactics. His team needs to attack more and he needs to learn how to hold the ball. You defend less when you have the ball. I'm not saying you should have the bulk of possession in the match, but at worst get up 40 percent possession. He's good with counter-attacking football so he should learn how to keep the ball while being direct.
His pattern of football is outdated and he'll always have trouble in any team he coaches playing football like that.
156  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is all wealth? on: May 13, 2024, 08:38:30 PM
You need money to survive, but money isn't everything. If you see money to be everything you're going to live a very sad life, because nothing else will matter, just money. You wouldn't care what you do to people as far as you make money from it. Even if you don't do illegal stuff, you won't be ethical in whatever business you do.
Money is very important, but we should have a limit to what we can do for money. The world is so rotten today because we have made money to be everything, so people are ready to do whatever it takes to make money.

Prioritize the relationship you have with people. Prioritize your loved ones and human lives. I'm not saying money is not important, but you have all the money in the world and still being unhappy.
When you're constantly focusing on money alone, you won't even have time to enjoy the money and talk more about those that matter to you.
In my opinion, we, as humans have given money so much power over us. Now it has control over us. It should be the other way around.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 13, 2024, 05:31:01 PM
Anceloti is Anceloti and he has a good record and it's the reason why he has remain to settle with number Spain club in the world but I want you to know that Real Madrid is Real Madrid and any player that is opportune to play in that club, they do it with all their might and power, they do it as if their life's depend on it, they do it for the club and that's why when you check the track of the players once they are signed to club, they go wild. Example of Bellingham, people says he is mid and it's just PR but he was making goals equivalent to his appearance in matches.

There have been players that flopped at real Madrid. There have also been coaches that flopped at Real Madrid. I can go on and list them. Players and coaches can go to Madrid and fail. There was a time between 2001-2013 where Real Madrid didn't win a single UCL, That's a 12 year wait, so for a manager to come and win it for them more than once is incredible.
Same with the league. Madrid won just 2 la Liga in 9 years at a certain point. Now the have 2 in 3. As big as Real Madrid is, they took need a good manager to succeed

.
they will make Laliga becomes the farmers league they always fear and people that hate Real Madrid will hate forever.

I think now you're overrating it.
Madrid have had much better players than they do now, including with Mbappe, but they couldn't turn la liga to a farmers league.
They've had Ronaldo, Casilas, Ramos, Marcelo, Ozil, Di Maria, Bale, Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Higuain all at their peak but couldn't turn la liga to a farmers league. In this century, Madrid has won the la liga back to back only ones in 2007 and 2008. Madrid are not turning La Liga into a Farmers League anytime soon.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 13, 2024, 02:59:25 PM
Honestly when I started this league I was hesitant because of injuries to players. I don't think they can compete with Barcelona or Atletico. So I'm pessimistic they can win. Sadly, the Madrid players who got injured were Ancelotti's first-choice players. But Madrid is lucky, many Madrid players are able to play more than 1 position. So that they can close each other's empty positions. Belingham's arrival was also very influential, he immediately adapted well. I am waiting for Guller to play full time with Mbaape next season, on social media it is widely circulated that he has been in Madrid for medical tests.

One major factor in Real Madrid league success this season is Ancellotti. They stuck gold with that man. If you recall, Vinicius was never this good before Ancellotti arrived at Madrid. Ancellotti transformed him into a different player and today he's one among the top 3 best winger in Europe. That's incredible.
Same thing Ancellotti did with Bellingham. He used him to perfection. In midfield, Bellingham is the the most technical midfielders, but Ancellotti used him as a false 9 and it worked perfectly for real Madrid. He was able to score goals that secured Madrid the league. That shows a man that's very good at what he does. I've heard stories of his top notch man man management and I think those stories are true.

Next season with the inclusion of Mbappe, Madrid are going to be a more ruthless side. Mbappe would take the number 9 position of course because I don't believe Ancellotti will keep Vini on then bench, he's too good for that. With Vini and Mbappe upfront, the midfield just need to be creative enough and they would have a good season.
159  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe Bitcoin will surge to new heights after this dip on: May 13, 2024, 02:27:43 PM
This should be common knowledge for those who know bitcoin. People expected bitcoin to skyrocket immediately after the halving but from history, we know that it's not usually that way. I believe bitcoin would get t $70k and above, the time is what I'm not very sure of.
I see this as an opportunity for those who want to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin is a type of asset that when it's price dips, that should be opportunity for people to buy and make more profit when it goes up again, because it will definitely go up again.
For those that feel they've missed the opportunity of owning bitcoin when it was $30k, now that it's around $62k it can still be an opportunity for them because bitcoin might to to $100k in the next year.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 11, 2024, 03:59:25 PM
Only 2 matches remain, and of those 2 matches, Manchester City will face Tottenham Hostpur & WHU. In my opinion, the only obstacle for Manchester City at the moment is Tottenham. Because apart from Tottenham being a strong team in the PL, they will also play a home match which might have an impact on Manchester City who are playing away, just a draw could make Arsenal top of the standings because of their GD.

I don't see Tottenham as a problem for Manchester City. At this point of the season, no team is getting any point form Manchester City. They'll win every single match. Tottenham and Manchester City will not be able to stop Manchester City. Since Arsenal lost to Aston Villa, I knew the league belongs to Manchester City. Nothing is stopping Manchester City.
I even believe Arsenal have a bigger problem in Manchester United. Not even the fact that Arsenal are in a better form will make it easier for them. I don't believe Arsenal will do to Manchester United what they did to Chelsea. There's always been a rivalry between them and I think this match won't be any different.
Arsenal are favourites of court, but it can turn out any other way.
