141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ColorSEED Or how to simply hide your seed phrase on: September 12, 2023, 12:13:28 AM
Many problems with this method that is complicated than needed.

With a traditional method, write down seed phrase. If you make a typo, you can check it more easily than with color. With colors, you can not differentiate them with your eyes and even printing does not display a color exactly as it is.

Your table has many columns, what will happen if you lose one of those columns? The printed colors are not trusted because of ink and printing machines.

Using a traditional method, writing down a seed and save your backup safely is good enough.
If you are fearful of physical damage like water, fire, pressure, acid, use metal plates, ...

Is it mandatory to fill in my personal information like First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth before can using my account after registration?

If it mandatory, it is like a basic KYC level to be allowed using Coins.game.

Can a user skip that step in registration procedure?
144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Importance of inviting Newbies to Bitcointalk on: September 11, 2023, 04:22:03 AM
Sure. But a huge majority of these people would heavily favor modern social media platforms rather than a retro-style forum. I'm pretty sure most of these are even just smartphone users that don't even frequently use desktop/laptop computers. And we all know how painfully bad Bitcointalk can be when used on a mobile phone.

There's a reason why retro-style forums in general(outside of specific niches) have been slowly dying.
It is easier to use a mobile phone to tweet, retweet, share a status on social media than typing a long post in Bitcointalk. They don't want to type too much on mobile phone and social media are more fitted for their ready to spend time and effort on mobile devices.

Fortunately, on Bitcointalk, you can learn from insightful topics and if newbies want to learn technical knowledge, Bitcointalk is very fitted for them.

145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: September 11, 2023, 03:12:23 AM
I can't really say if Italy will qualify in this group but having Ukraine trying their best to qualify I feel Italy should have been making preparation for getting the 2nd or 1st position in that group.
It would be a shame if Italy miss out on this tournament, because they look more competitive to give other nations problem like a challenge for the title but since England are topping the group they (Italy) need to struggle for that 2nd position to grant them qualification. As it stands Ukraine are not ready to leave that 2nd position for anything.
Chance for Italy is still good because they only played 3 matches. With those matches, they have 4 points, that are 3 points less than Ukraine that already played 4 matches. If Italy play their fourth match, they will have same total points as Ukraine. If Italy win two more matches to reach a same total matches of England, they are only 3 points less than England.

However I am realistic that Italy target should be a second position and they must solve Ukraine first. When they finish it, they can start to think of a first position.
https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/standings/

It has now become clear that Italy is racing for second place in the group because England is the leader with 13 points with 4 wins and 1 draw in 5 matches. Italy is competing with Ukraine. I think Italy will take the second place in the group and will be able to make it to Euro 2024. Being in the same group as England was already putting the group on a difficult level. If Italy doesn't make it past the group stage, it will surprise everyone.
I am thinking more about a second position for Italy because they will hardly to beat England in their second leg match. So it is more possible for them to claim a second position in this group as they can beat Ukraine in direct matches. They don't have big gap on the table too as said if Italy win one more match, they will have same total points as Ukraine.

If they got wrong information about Bitcoin but actually bought bitcoin, it is good enough for them. They at least bought bitcoin and have it that is better than if they buy Wrapped Bitcoin tokens or other altcoins which can cause them losses more easily and seriously.

They can start with Bitcoin Wiki to get right information.

149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages of Bitcoin over fiat and local banks on: September 04, 2023, 02:23:23 PM
1) I can regulate myself how I store my funds, how I use them and most important for me is funds accessibility from any place where the internet is.
Only if you use a good Bitcoin wallet that must be open source, self-custodial (you own private key, mnemonic seed), support Replace-by-Fee, Coin Control feature, support Segwit address type and if best support Taproot, Coinjoin transaction.

Most basic but most important, open source and self-custodial.

2) the amount if Bitcoins are limited. No one can just print more Bitcoins to solve his financial problem.
It's true and very important. Even Satoshi Nakamoto can not add more bitcoin to its total supply (21 millions).
150  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Huobi - the new trouble spot of the crypto world ? on: August 07, 2023, 11:44:32 AM
Oh man, these owners of the exchangers and their dreams of getting rich quickly killing the market very quickly. Why would that man invest the money from one business to another business, it's a mystery? I think he had plans to build another empire, get the returns back from that business and then again return the money to the Huobi so that instead of buying the bonds he would just return the money plus earned profits to the users.
Huobi does not have good reputation in cryptocurrency centralized exchange and they faced with risk from China mainland government too. I don't choose Huobi to use when I have other centralized exchanges with less negative reputation and if I don't like KYC, I can pick non KYC exchange.

I have small capital in cryptocurrency so I don't have big issue with DEXs.

https://kycnot.me/

I've always been suspicious about Justin Sun. He's just another con artist, just like all the other big crypto "whales" like Sam Bankman-Fried or the guy from Terra/Luna(I forgot his name).
Justin Sun likes pump and dump games which initiated by him several times. From announcing a lunch with Waren Buffet to some events when they tried to pump TRON and TRON stable coin. The most fearful thing from his stable coin is it uses algorithm that is what killed Terra stable coin UST in May 2022.

Months later, many stable coins lost their pegs including TRON stable coin but Justin Sun successfully protected the peg. However, I would like to remind that back in 2022, marketcap of TRON stable coin is very small so it was a bit easy for Justin Sun to recover the peg. Things can be very different in future when the marketcap is bigger and out of control from Justin Sun. That stable coin will possibly face with similar peg attack like Terra UST and lose its peg.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 05, 2023, 01:36:26 PM
If Kane's move does happen then I really believe that Tottenham will have a lot of trouble against Brenford later and the chances of defeat are very big.
Tottenham are not stronger than Brighton even with Harry Kane. Those clubs were not different too much in Premier League performance and ranking in the last season. If Tottenham lose Kane, their attacking power will drop a lot but Brighton is very strong in attacking and they can create pressure on Tottenham defense.

Brighton sold MacAllister to Liverpool and it will affect their midfield in both attacking and defense.

Bild reports that Daniel Levy deliberately missed the deadline Bayern set on a new Kane bid and went on a two-week vacation to Miami. If ignored, Bayern will start looking for alternative options for the position of the central striker. Now the deal could really fall apart and I don't think Kane would be happy with that decision, if such deliberate steps are being taken to wreck the deal then Kane's attitude towards the game might be the same.
Levy does not want to sell Harry Kane so he does not have reasons to complete the transfer with a given ultimatum from Bayern Munich. I don't think he ignored the deadline and began his vacation to cause pressure on Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich already sold Mane and theoritically they can use that money to complete the transfer with Tottenham. Levy knows about that and he will not discount a transfer price as Bayern Munich actually consider Kane as their biggest target in this summer.

153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding Between Mining and Direct Investment on: August 05, 2023, 10:18:48 AM
Buying bitcoin directly for your investment is better and it requires less time, less resources and less skills. With mining, you will need many things, location for your mining farm, technical set up and maintenance, safety for your farm and human who operate it for you and lastly it requires time to get bitcoin from mining.

You must get a break even before get a profit from your initial investment. It will be months and not like with investment, less time, less resource and if you buy around the corner of market break out, you will not have to wait too long.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Thoughts on Bitcoin Adoption - I Could Be Wrong, So Let's Discuss! on: August 04, 2023, 03:00:14 PM
1. Complexity - Is It Just Me, or Is It Still Too Hard?
Bitcoin is complex; I think most of us will agree on that. Complexity has been reduced with new standards and protocols, a magical threshold of simplicity is unlikely without trusting a third party.
Bitcoin is not complex if you only buy bitcoin, store it in a self custody wallet and make transactions from your wallet.

It is easy enough to use it well without mistakes. It does not requires too much in storage if you use SPV wallet software like Electrum wallet. [1, 2]

Just use self custody wallets and if they are open source, you are doing good practice.

155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mine a Bitcoin or buy a bitcoin? on: August 04, 2023, 02:52:12 PM
it seems that if you mine you have to have very large capital and you have to have a lot of knowledge, personally I prefer to just buy btc because I don't know much about mining, if you buy you just have to think about the strategy and the right time to buy it. because in my opinion the most important thing is to benefit from investing in btc, such as buying in a bear market and selling in a bull market.
If you have good technical knowledge and can fix things in computer hardwares, electricity, ventilation systems and some more technical ones for your mining farm operation and maintenance, you can buy mining rigs and run your mining farms because it will help you get more bitcoin with same capital.

If you are not good in technical setup and fixing, maintenance, mining is not for you. Buying bitcoin with your capital will be easier and more profitable for you.

Mining or investing with your capital, store your bitcoin in self custodial wallet is mandatory.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 04, 2023, 02:45:03 PM
I don't think Arsenal will fail again this season with their young squad, because of the several failures Arsenal have experienced in previous seasons. Of course this has been a very valuable experience for Arsenal so maybe next season Arsenal will make better changes with their young players, but if Arsenal still fail again next season. This means that Arsenal must quickly find their mistakes so they don't fail repeatedly in every season.
In the last season, Arsenal had to play in Europa League and did not have chance to play in Champions League. In Europa League, they were beaten by Sporting Lisbon at their home stadium after penalty shootouts.

Arsenal will have their first season in Champions League after many years and it will be big test for their young players. With their performance in the past season, they can play well in Champions League but risk to fail is not small.

It will depend on their luckiness to fall in an easy or a tough group. Again they have big risk to fall in a tough group because they don't have good point recent seasons because they did not play in Champions League recent years. A new season will be a reboot for Arsenal to rebuild their position in Europe.

For quite sometime due to external factors I left and wasn't following in the forum only to see a post that talked about newbies posting thing they have no idea about! The simple salient question I have to all high ranked members is how are we encouraging learning in this platform...
Sit back and look into your mind. If you are happy when you read posts in forum, you are encouraged by your feeling to use it. When you read more, you learn more and if you see happiness from learning in the forum, you will continue to do it.

Quote
I'm not fighting anyone I want to know...who should be blamed also ...the newbies? Or the person who shared link for registration to them and didn't enlighten them of the modus operandi of the group?
The forum does not have affiliate program and referral code like cryptocurrency exchanges, I don't understand "share link for registration".

Referral links are also prohibited by forum unofficial rules.

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]

I think this should be balanced by lashing newbies who hurry into posting irrelevant things and members as well as higher rankers who just abandon their invitees at the point of entry
Report irrelevant, shit posts and moderators will delete those zero-value posts.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotional Material on: August 02, 2023, 10:36:36 PM
I’ve seen threads about stickers, so I’m sure there must be a thread with printable promotional material. Anybody got a link or maybe someone wants to help create cool printable stuff like this (talking about the flyer in the cartoon, not the cartoon itself).
Bitcoin Promotional Graphics from Bitcoin Wiki. It has very limited graphics, logos and simple text "Bitcoin", "Bitcoin accepted here", "We love Bitcoin", "Donate Bitcoin".

These graphics are basics and simple, not too fantasy but they are Printable Promotional Graphics and I think if you have yet known about it, it is helpful, usable and printable.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 02, 2023, 10:30:31 PM
I think the absence of Arsenal in joining UCL for a long time, won't have any impact on their performance.
It will do have impact on their performance. It is very rarely to see a club get success in their first season return to Champions League. It is some barely seen successful comebacks from some clubs but usually they will struggle with their first one or two seasons there.

Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan failed to go through Champions League group stage before they gained bigger success in later seasons. If you want to find a club from Premier League, it's Manchester United and Manchester City. Manchester City needed many seasons to slowly improve their performances in Champions League.

Quote
It is all about the players' mentality and ability, Arsenal seems not ready for this. They have many skillful players, they are young and very convincingly. But they have no experience in UCL, they have no mentality to maintain good performance till they reach the final round. TBH, I expect much on Arsenal but not sure they will reach the final. I still believe Man City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, or Inter Milan which have the chance to reach the final. Commonly, the teams which have good experience in UCL that can compete for the title in the final round.
They have skillful and strong mental players but they surely lack of experience in Champions League. It will impact their performance when facing with biggest clubs from different European countries and leagues. Playing in Champions League means Arsenal players will have to play with many different tactics from different clubs and leagues. It is very different from playing with clubs from Premier League that somewhat have a common philosophy.

Arsenal can go to a first knock-out phase but it's hard for them to go farther.

We are in Bitcoin forum and talk about American dream, is it needed?

It should be Bitcoin dream or Bitcoin dream in the America (United States). It is a better dream with bullish sentiment from Bitcoin community, adoption and market.

It is time for de-dollarization as the purchasing power of US dollar lost over time while Bitcoin purchasing power increases a lot over time.
