141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 14, 2024, 03:09:41 PM
Obviously, Bitcoin is among cryptocurrencies but the reason why we make Bitcoin of more in this discussion is because it is our most priority and the asset we have in our individual portfolio and all other cryptos come under Bitcoin that is why Bitcoin is taken to be a volatile asset. Our main objective here is focused on buying and hodling no matter the price of Bitcoin that is why the DCA is advisable then if there comes a dip, an investor with high source of income or that have reserved funds can choose to lump sum and still continue the DCA
Bitcoin being a high volatile asset needs time before your investment can boom to a certain height that is why anyone venturing into bitcoin need endurance and patience because it is not just about buying and selling but buying and hodling for the future because a greater fruit awaits your investment there.

Shitcoins probably doesn't have any future that is why we don't include shitcoins in this thread, we are more concerned about a guaranteed asset like Bitcoin and if we look at the growth and adoption of Bitcoin since it was introduced, we can have that feeling of safety and security of our Bitcoins as proud hodlers.

I agree with you a lot Princess but I don’t agree with you about shitcoins not having a future, the way you sound right now makes me believe you think all other coins aside Bitcoin are shitcoins.
If you put trust in shitcoins, you will learn the hard way. I have invested in a coin I thought had everything it takes to vomit free money. The use case was superb, team were popular faces with track records ìn the industry, their marketing was perfect and they ended up collecting millions through their ICO. At the end, the project died and my coins became worthless... this is what shitcoins is all about, heartbreaks, anxiety, FOMO and every other thing you need to avoid as an investor.

Bitcoin is the father the originator the one among the rest but this doesn’t mean Bitcoin is the only one, with more incoming innovations in the crypto space we’ve witnessed the rise of other crypto currency’s some which have come to stay like Bitcoin and others which have fallen off,
These experiences only helped us learn how to identify substantial projects that’ll last the test of time line Bitcoin, I’ll say not all coins aside Bitcoin are shitcoins.
If you already know that Bitcoin is father and you have seen how well it has performed as an investment option, why not channel your energy, time and resources on how to buy as much Bitcoin as you can instead of allowing distractions from shitcoins? Bitcoin have all you need and they are safer because no founder will hand you over a bag of worthless coins, you are totally in control of your coins especially when you buy and store in a self custodian wallet and your only job will be to protect your coins and then watch it grow in value as time passes.

I will encourage you to avoid making the same mistake I made, focus on building a Bitcoin portfolio and see how happy you will be 5-10 years from today.
142  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 14, 2024, 11:48:02 AM
In confirmation of my words above. Here are two examples. Two outrage threads would have appeared by already Smiley

Example 2

I have noticed an increased in the number of newbies using AI to make their posts, maybe they think that is the way to impress the older members of the forum. It is rather unfortunate that many of them are too lazy to at least read the forum rules that forbids such actions, hence the corresponding increase in newbie accounts being banned. I do not know what will be the solution but I think that any new member who cannot read the rules of the forum and who is not ready to learn and contribute to discussion base on his knowledge but resort to copying and pasting garbage from AI do not deserve to be here.

This is what I'm talking about.
I have never used AI before and I do not plan to do that soon even in my academic work (when I start my post graduate programs) as I find it a little lazy. With this result, I completely doubt the authenticity of those AI detectors and it simply means that anything written in fine and error-free English will be flagged as AI generated. I think we have to come to a consensus before a bad AI detecting tool causes chaos in the forum.

I tried checking how reliable the referenced AI detecting tool is with the following steps.
1. I posted my above comment in the took and got below results

https://sapling.ai/ai-content-detector/6fac85451e64588e260f1d647c36b87e

When I adjusted the statement by simply removing the word in the bracket  I got the result below:

https://sapling.ai/ai-content-detector/6fd3520673d3f484186519cf068065bb

I do not trust an AI detecting like this and it does not look good drawing conclusion from such a tool.

Below is the gptzero result of the same post flagged as AI- generated by sapling
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It takes the balls... on: April 14, 2024, 10:05:32 AM
It seems that the Iran Israel conflict is affecting the price of Bitcoin but also do not forget that every bullrun has ever has a 30% plus drops on the way up, its obvious if you are good at reading charts.
I'm using the DCA method in collecting Bitcoin and I sincerely love the dip we are experience now prior to the halving because it will give me ample time to collect more Bitcoin at discounted prices. However, I don't thing we will see as much as 30% drop in price considering that halving is just days away.

The BUT here is how people get so weak after the dips finally happen and they do nothing, Wake the hell up, now it's happening right in front of your eye, do not sleep on it.

Instead of doing nothing, consider DCA.

Anyone who is doing nothing at this point is probably not interesting in buying Bitcoin. From January till now, Bitcoin have enjoy positive news following the ETF approval and many critics have even embraced reality. Consequently, there have been injection of fresh capital that have lead to the sustained growth we have experienced. Like I said before, those still sitting on the fence till this time are not ready to be invested in Bitcoin.
144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 14, 2024, 09:45:05 AM
Like @BitMaxz rightly posited, I wouldn't call this a crash but normal retracement. There is no way it is right to call about 9% drop in Bitcoin price a crash. Assuming it retraces up to one of the Fibonacci numbers like 50% or 61.8% and lower, then it would have been appropriate to use the term crash.

As for the cause of the major retracement, since we cannot place it on any major news that might have a such negative impact, I think it is logical to assume that Iran sending missiles to Isreal is what triggered it. This is because it does not just make so much sense that Bitcoin halving, an event that is expected to be a positive news, is around the corner yet price of Bitcoin is dropping. Well, we cannot rule out market manipulations.
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 13, 2024, 12:41:53 PM
Have you bought Bitcoin during the current correction? Or are you still waiting for an even lower price? If you haven't decided yet, don't forget to prepare your money to be able to buy Bitcoin again before the halving or after the halving.
Those of us using the DCA method are not disturbed about the correction, in fact, it is even to our advantage as we will now have to collect more Bitcoin for the same dollar value. I was somehow happy at the drop because it is like a final opportunity the market offer us before the halving which we don't know what will be the immediate effect on the market even though we know it will eventually lead to higher prices.

This would be another opportunity to buy Bitcoin at a low price of under $70k. We don't know whether the price will fall further. The important thing is to always be prepared and not forget to activate the alarm so we know when to buy it.
Yes the drop is also a good opportunity for those who employs buying the dip, their only challenge would be decided if a drop from $71k to $67k is something they might consider a dip to buy. This is where the advantage of the DCA method is evident, no stress about the dip, no worries about entry point and no single panic about volatility.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 13, 2024, 11:08:41 AM
Is this a joke or something? Gambling does not work this way and there is hardly anyone that will quit gambling if he is able to find a strategy that enable him double his money. Most gamblers are not in profit and anyone who manages to be in profit will not consider quiting rather will be busy perfecting the strategy that made it possible. If it is not easy to quit gambling even in loss, imagine how it will be for a gambler who just made additional $1,000 from his $1,000 deposit. The feasible thing he can do is to withdraw at least $1,800 and continue gambling with the balance for more profits.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 13, 2024, 11:02:42 AM
The fact that Bournemouth have a lower winning odds than Manchester United sums up the Red Devils this year. Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford in the first match of the league. It was a big shock for Manchester United. Now Manchester United, who have no other goal in the league but to maintain their 6th place, will see if they can get points away from home. Manchester United, who have not won in 3 matches in the league, may extend their winless streak to 4 matches. Honestly, they don't give me any confidence. Bournemouth's inability to play well at home against the top teams is the only advantage for United. We could see a game where both teams score goals.

Although Bournemouth is a formidable opponent on occasion, they are not nearly as good as Manchester United. The only issues I have with Manchester United are their coach and a few players. Nevertheless, I truly love the way Manchester has played in their last two games and it shows that they have players who can help the team improve. Some players, like Amrabat, Bruno, and Rashford, are not good enough to be on the Manchester United team. Although Amrabat is on loan and will soon leave, Bruno and Rashford are also issues for the team, and anyone who doesn't believe me should watch Manchester United play.
It is really surprising seeing that we have come to a point where we will have a second thought deciding who will win between Machester United and Bournemouth. It simply means that the former have done terribly bad this season and the fault is evenly shared between the coach and the players.
For the sake of my money I will simply consider both teams score that will give me a better odd than any double chance since straight win is a so risky base on the H2H record of both teams. Even if Bournemouth will win Manchester United,  they will have to conceded at least one goal. If they fail to get a goal today, the call for the sack of their coach Teng Haag will intensify and I doubt he will be able to survive it this time.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi forces the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time on: April 12, 2024, 10:14:30 AM
Halving is a way for satoshis to force the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time. The fewer rewards given to miners will make bitcoins harder to obtain and rarer as time goes by. This is a smart strategy that Satoshi had and I just realized it.

The weakness of this strategy is that when Bitcoin fails to reach a high price after the halving until the next halving occurs, this can damage public trust and also harm miners. However, this weakness no longer applies because Bitcoin always has a new ATH at every halving phase that occurs. So, I believe the price of bitcoin will continue to skyrocket in the future.

What do you think?
It is wrong to use the word force for it and I somehow disagree with you on this. The right way to put it is that Bitcoin was designed in a way that the supply will continue to decrease even in the face of increasing demand thereby creating a kind of imbalance that will spur an increase in price. This is not the same as forcing people to buy Bitcoin but a simple economics.
Furthermore, the price of Bitcoin have not continued to go up, we have experienced several bullish and bearish seasons just like we have in every other market. Bitcoin have enjoyed overall growth not because people were compelled to buy it but because of the values it has continued to provide and the potential people see in it, hence the reason they chose to hold it.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 11, 2024, 02:51:54 PM
After losing to Barcelona, is it possible that PSG's chances are still quite open in the second leg? especially this time they have to visit Camp Nou where Barcelona is. I think the opportunity is still there, but not as big as we expected considering that Barcelona unexpectedly beat PSG in the first leg and that was a major blow for Luis Enrique's squad.
Many people expected PSG to win yesterday. They were the favourite and even had lower odds, since they were playing at home. They played well but their performance was not enough to give them the result. I don't know if they will be able to undo the loss when they visit Camp Nou. Well they have to give it their best because the worst that can happen is they failure to qualify for the semi final, although this will be a huge disappointment for the team and their key player Kylian Mbappe who might leave the club at the end of the season. He needed to leave a good legacy in the club besides the series of the French league titles.

150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling games that gives you an exciting experience on: April 11, 2024, 02:21:19 PM
Personally, I am new to gambling and I do not know much about games, and I prefer gambling on football matches with small amounts of money.

What is your favorite gambling game and what are the reasons that made you prefer it over the rest?
I think sports betting should be the favorite for many people considering the popularity and wide engagement of football. But there are still many other interesting casinos that are popular with large participants. Gambles such as slots and poker have become so popular now and many people are going that direction because sports betting seems too difficult to make big wins.
I love sports betting with football and basketball as my favourite but gradually I'm drifting towards slots as well.

Your previous threads, ask for same things.
ow can a beginner fast learn and contribute to bitcoin forum
How can a beginner in the forum significantly grow?

Why did you create one more thread for it?
Perhaps the information provided in the previous thread was not as comprehensive as he wanted. I was in similar situation that he is in right now when I joined, it was really difficult processing the information and putting them together in a way that it becomes easy to follow. I can assure you that many newbies face this challenge. Maybe someday someone will be able to produce a step by step thread on how a novice can navigate through this forum and become knowledgeable in Bitcoin and the underlying technology.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I almost become a millionaire on: April 10, 2024, 03:30:41 PM
In the year 2010,my best friend introduce me to cryptocurrency and he advice me to invest in bitcoin. I felt bitcoin was another ponzi scheme created by scammers to scam innocent people. Today my friend is a multi Millionaire. If only I had listened to his advice,I would have become a millionaire by now.
The is like "medicine after death". Many people have this regrets with some able to speak up and more to come. You missed Bitcoin when it was few cents, you missed it when it was a few hundreds, you missed it when it got to $750. Even when it got to $1,000 you still believe it was a ponzi. What about after several bull runs? At what point did you believe that Bitcoin was not a ponzi and what have you done so far from that point onward?

If you knew about Bitcoin as early as 2010 and failed to invest in it yet you have a friend who did and held till date, it simply means you are a Bitcoin critics, those that hate the idea of Bitcoin and have concluded it was a scam or outright bubble. I have seen your type, many of them and till date some are still hoping that Bitcoin fails.

154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 10, 2024, 01:38:31 PM
The gold investors and fans would argue about it having limited resources or supply too. But no one knows what measurement and what exactly is the limit of it.
I have not read anywhere about anyone claiming that gold is of limited supply and anyone with such argument is either ignorant of just playing to the gallery. Gold is still being mined in West Africa and several other locations in the world and the supply is never limited. Australia have an estimated reserve of 12,000 metric tons of gold, so where is the statement of gold having limited supply coming from?

Compared to Bitcoin, we all know that it's got 21 million supply and the last Bitcoin to be mined will take 120+ years before it happens.
By putting a limit on the supply of Bitcoin, I think it was designed to increase in price as the supply will never exceed demand on the long run, simple economics. Those who know this will naturally see why Bitcoin should be considered an option for the long term. Investment in Bitcoin is truly the best anyone can think of as it will keep getting better with time.

155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: April 10, 2024, 07:26:30 AM
Gambling for money is wrong, but gambling for fun is more advisable.
If you are a typical gambler who gambles for money, then it is very possible for you to experience bad effects from gambling regardless of how well you admit that you gamble responsibly. You will lose and regret it, but if you change your mindset then you might never feel bad when you lose.
I don't even know why everyother person is saying that gambling should not be for money making but rather for fun. Though gambling should be more of fun but we should not disproof the fact that gambling is for money making. If gambling is only for fun as everyone is saying, I don't think people who lost thousands of dollars would have did so. Nobody is happy loosing thousands of dollars for fun. If you check this gambling board you guys will notice that most thread created here emphasis more on people that lost alot of money or did incredible things for gambling. I have read about a ma who kidnapped his grand daughter and demanded for $72k for ransom. Another man lost also some thousands of dollars under the influence of drug. All this out together is just toake the money. The only thing that need to be addressed is that we should not expect high hopes on gambling return but. saying that we should not gamble for money always make me feel like there is no need to gamble Afterall because there are thousands of games that don't involve staking your fund.
I think what they are saying is that if your mind is so fixated on making money through gambling, you might act irrationally and this will likely make you lose money instead of making profits. I tend to agree with the statement that focusing so much on the money is not the best way even though we know that money is the motivation. I have this personal experience that whenever I want to make money so urgently, I lose instead but when I just gamble casually, I end up winning. This means that being too focused on making money rarely give me the results I want, hence the reason I'm beginning to think in the direction of those who say gambling should not be all about making money.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 10, 2024, 06:50:16 AM
Who would ever though that the four UCL teams that played today would draw in the game. I was waiting to see that Real Madrid won Manchester City and Arsenal won Bayern Munich this was what i was expecting. I want both teams i mentioned to win to compete in the final round.

Also, there was something i noticed in the game between Bayern and Arsenal. I noticed where Raya gave the ball to Gabriel to pass, and he mistakenly held it with his hand to play a goal kick. Th ref said its not a penalty because it's a UCL QF, then i then think that's why he didn't give Arsenal the last penalty in the dying minute so that the score would be even.

Yes, this was beyond our expectations, because initially we thought the home team would dominate but it wasn't what we expected, I think in the second leg the home team will have an advantage Bayern Munich and Manchester City have a greater chance of qualifying and for today's match I predict these 2 matches will end in a draw. For the betting option, I chose both teams to score in these two matches.
There is nothing like home and away for the clubs playing now; they can beat you comfortably in your home and that is one thing to put into consideration when making predictions now. That Manchester City was unable to beat Real Madrid was not because of home advantage, the match was played fairly and in high spirit for both teams. The suspense was unique, just few minutes into the match Manchester City was in the lead but within 10 minutes further everything changed and Real Madrid took over. Arsenal and Bayern Munic match also followed the same suspense and I find it very difficult knowing teams to qualify as home advantage is definitely not what to use as basis. Remember that the away goals rule have been abolished so both matches will be played on equal terms.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 09, 2024, 07:18:49 PM
What an early goal from Bernardo Silva! I think the keeper would have saved this because the distance is just too much to score a first team keeper from there. Now Real Madrid have to fight to make the goal even with Manchester City who are currently on the lead even when the match is played at Santiago Bernabue. Oops, just while I'm typing, Real Madrid has equalized the match and it stand at 1:1 as at 12th minutes. What? Rodrigo scored again to make the match 2:1 in favor of Real Madrid. 2 goals in 3 minutes, that is Real Madrid for you. This is indeed the match of the tournament.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 09, 2024, 05:18:11 PM
Yesterday I thought Liverpool would be able to win the match after successfully defending 1 goal in the first half. However, in the second half Liverpool repeatedly failed to build effective attacks to score goals. Luckily, Liverpool can still get 1 point with a penalty in last minute 2nd half, even though they failed to be in 1st position, Liverpool can still maintain the points with Arsenal to keep their chances of winning the EPL this season.
Already this season England premier league defending champion 🏆 is going to be Liverpool or Man City, because arsenal is always on predict able as long as premier league is consign just check out what dey did last season at the beginning dey played well almost everybody was behind arsenal last season because of their good performance, reaching the end that almost everybody see that arsenal have taken EPL champion 🏆 to our greatest surprise arsenal stated losing to small teams, just check out what will happen to arsenal before the end of this season.
Judging by Arsenal's records, you are very correct but we cannot assume it will always be like that forever because things do change. Therefore,  I will write Arsenal off given their new found determination and consistency. They are at the top of the table now against popular opinion,  they were able to hold Manchester City to a draw which rarely happen at this stage of the competition I previous years. So, I am thinking they are ready to put up a strong fight this season and I will not be surprised if they end up winning the league title after so many years of trying to no avail.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 08, 2024, 02:34:18 PM
Not only patience can help a lot in preventing big lost amounts of money but it can also help in making you finding the courage to quit forever the gambling which is a major feat that most people are unable to do until the end of their life.
quitting gambling is does not require patience so I doubt it is what the post wants to address. Also patience does not prevent big losses because it is not part of risk management. What I think the post is addressing is a situation where some gamblers expect to win all the money in the world in single day or even single round. This eagerness to win is what lead to different kinds of bad gambling habits and mistakes. When a gambler is willing to commit to time, Following the gambling process slowly and not rush things, it is likely that he will succeed. Some people even quit gambling after few losses when their time have not come; this is something that patience can also address.

The OP is new to the forum and instead of reading the forum rules and familiarising himself with the forum, he is already making posts and sounding all smart. Well, the moderators can be of help. The gambling board have lately become a victim of off-topics and thankfully, it's interesting that the forum mods are paying keen attention there and moving most of the topics to where they rightly belong. If the OP continue in that direction, it is a matter of time before that account get wrecked.
