141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling or selling? on: April 11, 2024, 09:50:44 PM
There is a long period of time when the bitcoin price is at a rather high level, compared to the price a year ago
Some users have sold all their bitcoins as soon as the price became higher than the price at which they bought them
But i'm interested in the actions of those who bought their bitcoins more than 2-3 years ago and sold them now or are still hodling them
How did you find the strength and patience to resist this temptation?
Please answer people who hodl not $1-2k,but at least from $20k
After all,the fear of loss from investing $1k is much easier to bear than from investing $20k
For me this is the best indicator of inner strength and patience, because the greater the amount of investment, the greater the scale of his personality

Personally I don’t see anything wrong when it comes to the time or price that people sell off their bitcoin holding as long as you’re selling at a profit. Some of these investors that sell are those that have actually set a profit target and once it triggers they sell without hesitation. While some investors actually sold off their holdings not when they had pre Planned a longer a time to do it, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances that get them to sell, some of them will be happy to rather lose there bitcoin than borrowing money to sort out their emergency needs, which again is not a bad idea.

As for the ability of holding it for a very long term, I will say the first thing is to invest an amount you can afford to lose and as such it will reduce the tension of selling off when hit with either positive movement or negative movement.

I expected personally to see a draw between PSG and Barcelona since both teams aren't in their best form and I might be influenced by yesterday's games results.
Anyway, today's result is one step backward for PSG and they are now expected to leave from that stage.
PSG should seriously reconsider their strategy without Mbappe and with a new coach and maybe management as a whole.

I will tell you this i never expected nothing more or less from this PSG team, against any team in Europe top competition I don’t fancy them winning. When the draw was made I said the two Spanish teams will qualify because the other clubs aren’t that good when it is a champions league game. I will first of blame Enrique for the line up against Barcelona today most especially the attacking options. How can you spend over a 100 million on two class strikers (kolo muani and Goncalco Ramos) and you start none and then went ahead to start Mbappe in that row which he is always useless at.

It was simple Barcelona will target Mbappe because of his quality, start a striker alongside him to give the central defenders a little work and this get Mbappe free and able to run down defenders

I agree with you, it’s time for a PSG rebuild too without Mbappe, he looks not interested in the club anymore. Partying ways looks the best to me
143  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Is Dollar The Cause? on: April 10, 2024, 10:42:51 PM
I dy ask nah Dollar cos this one too bcos plenty piple dy homeless becos them no fit afford wetin house owners dem dy call as price.

Wetin be the main reason for this particular one?

To me there is inflation in Nigeria not just because of the dollar/ Naira currency saga but other factors too. The clear one to me is the oil and gas prices that are high most especially the popular petrol, if you look at the increase in this area you will see that it affects things local than even the dollar raise. An increase in price of petrol automatically increases the transportation prices and if this increases every sector also faces an increase.

Take for example a farmer who spends more in either transporting his goods to the market or even during the cultivation (irrigational farmers) he will definitely hike his own produce prices. Same thing applies to industries they rely on secondary power sources like through gas or petrol to make production and the higher the prices of this energy source the more they increase their products costs to meet up with demand.

As for housing sectors you see increase in the house rents because the owners are trying to meet up with the price of stuffs in the market and since there is no standard housing regulations they just increases it as they pleased
144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I almost become a millionaire on: April 10, 2024, 02:23:47 PM
If you had followed the valuable advice your friend gave you 14 years ago today and invested in Bitcoin, we wouldn't be regretting it today. But there is still time to invest in Bitcoin and you should invest before 2030 Bitcoin reaches million dollars. If you can invest now then you too have a chance to become a millionaire after 2030.

We are giving a bad narrative to bitcoin when we tell them outrightly that they will become billionaires when we why invest into bitcoin for some time frame. Even the OP’s friend who had advice him to invest in 2010 i am sure didn’t tell him that he will he millionaire because it will be a tricky predictions. The OP even if he invested then might have even cashout in his thousands and wouldn’t have let it to ride to millions.

From that years down to now I don’t think the OP would tell me he is still in denial that this coin will go far, if he is then it will be hard to convince him at this stage. But should he consider buying now I wouldn’t tell him he will be rich because that will depend on the amount he buys with and how patient he keeps them. The volatility nature of bitcoin has reduce and we wouldn’t be able to do the percentage moves it did in its early stages. So OP invest and hold for long and if it turns out well you will be a millionaire.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 10, 2024, 01:57:28 PM
Real Madrid, which is known as a strong team because of its history of having an arch enemy, namely Barcelona, they have their own characteristics, but when they met Man City they seemed to have difficulties as you said with Man City having more possession of the ball it proves that Man City is not a team that is easy to beat, especially since we all know that Man City is a strong team this season, not just this season. Even in previous seasons they were a strong team.

If they can match Real Madrid, it proves that they have a strong performance. I don't underestimate Real Madrid because Real Madrid also has a good performance with their game  maybe in the second leg Real Madrid will win,  but I doubt that but we don't know because it can't be predicted so let's just wait for the results.  What is clear is that these two teams will definitely show their best game to be able to win the match even though they are facing a strong team.

Exactly Madrid is the best team when it comes to champions league football and every team gets scared of them but you see Manchester city they have been the team in the whole season f Europe for the past three seasons now. And one thing is Madrid as a team still struggle to play well against a team managed by Pep Guardiola. Madrid do not like the tiki taka pattern teams play, they want a fast football game and that’s one area were we also see every Pep’s team falling short. If you watched yesterday immediately Manchester city started controlling the midfield or had more balls in possession it became a little bit difficult for Madrid to bring out their game and when Madrid took the gear on and started their fast attack they scored two quick fire goals same as Manchester city too.

The second leg will be also filled with goals but for Madrid playing away from home it looks like it will be difficult for them. On history they don’t beat city at home and city are on winning streak both at home. Although we can’t compare the fan base of Madrid to that of city to say that Etihad will be difficult for Madrid but even the small number is fans Will different try to make it loud to have a revenge on Madrid for closing down their stadium yesterday. I will still say the game is still tight but city is above in terms of quality and home advantage at the moment
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 09, 2024, 11:13:46 PM

Manchester United needs to change coaches when everything doesn't go according to plan or has failed over the years, but considering that Erik Ten Hag can still be relied on quite a bit, I think they will still keep him for a long time. There wasn't much the red devils could do but trust each other for now.

I think I like the new revolution brought about by Sir Jimmy. I don’t quite agree with the Changing of Coaches every time things don’t go the way the club wants. If you look at the hierarchy you will see people occupying positions that shouldn’t be meant for them.

They have been more than 3 managers who we all know were doing great in their respective clubs before moving to Manchester United and they ended up getting sacked with records not too good for their CV. Let the top officials be changed for the first time and give the faces chance and we see the changes they can effect. If the manager then after been given the players and supports he wants fails to deliver then they can show him the exit way.

Also I think the scouting team for Manchester United need to do more, they shouldn’t be after just any player on the market and spending millions on players who will turn out to be flood at the end of the day. Also more trust should be placed under the Academy boys, the likes of Mainoo and Kwambala have saved us lots of money this season and possibly in the future
147  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Boring Market Right Now. What You Got? on: April 09, 2024, 10:49:06 PM
I dey feel you too bro because trading no be for everybody, e better make you stay your lane and do the way wey you sabi do. Regards to staking, you no go fit stake btc but you fit stake some others but there return too no go too dey much. I know say you fit stake dogecoin, cartesi, shiba etc, you fit check for binance.

Binance is a centralized platform and as such for you to stake anything you need to hold your coins on that wallet for the minimum number of time you want to stake. Same thing as bitcoin can be done centralized exchanges too but to me that’s more like a lending something than staking, least amount of days was 21 last time I Checked. The profits earned also is very small compared to leaving your coins on any exchange because no exchange is too big not to collapse.

Although, Doge developers may move from PoW to PoS but I do not think that has been done and doge is still using PoW. Or is doge now using PoS?

Doge is still using POW mechanism and it’s even the second larger behind bitcoin on the mechanism. So staking on happens on CEX which looks more like a lending thing na staking.

As for OP my advice is to just hold your coin in peace and for long time so you don’t lose it chasing how to make more profit.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 09, 2024, 10:31:39 PM
Two tough, energy sapping games for Arsenal and Man City. Hopefully the intensity starts to mean they drop poijts in the PL, would really help Liverpool out 😇.

Maybe Arsenal aren’t so impregnable after all, Bayern made their defence look a lot more ordinary than most PL teams have done for a while.

Some cracking goals in the other game in Spain, wow.

I know you would be happy seeing both clubs taking it down to the wire so that they could be stretched out and they could easily lose pace in the race but you have forgotten that the Europa League awaits you too. And you are probably the one without much of a break in terms of games to be played.

The games today were definitely excellent, end to end stuff, teams matching each other tenacity. This two games were fitting to be a stage higher than this, something like a semi final. Manchester city were there selves today as for Arsenal they lacked a little composure and players like Saka and Saliba should have done more.

Hey LFC_Bitcoin I am sure you say the penalty waved away against Neur today, what now did you Make of that dubious penalty you got in the weekend  Smiley
149  Economy / Economics / Re: Accepting Bitcoin for paying tax on: April 09, 2024, 02:39:36 PM

Switzerland is also crypto friendly nation so I guess it can depend on the state of a country.

That’s definitely why they have actually agreed to accept the payment in bitcoin because a country whose government is stern on bitcoin wouldn’t allow its communities or states pay taxes in bitcoin. My question now is what do they do with the bitcoin, do they hold or they convert it straight up to fiat currency?

But the major disadvantage about it is that you might end up paying even more than person paying with the fiat, because after paying your tax with Bitcoin, you will definitely be pay the higher transaction fee attached to it, which will be very much expensive compared to the fiat.

Transaction fee is always brought up every time bitcoin been use for payment discussions are made, I will always say this as long as it isn’t compulsory to use just bitcoin for a particular payment that is other currencies are also acceptable I will go for others when it is a small amount of money involved. I will only use bitcoin when it is the easiest of options left to me
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 08, 2024, 10:31:50 PM

Kimmich had a conflict with Tuchel and throughout the season he was most likely dissatisfied with both his position in the club and the results of Bayern. What is the point for him to engage in gambling (wait for a new coach and find out how he will treat him) if he supposedly wants to go to Arsenal? He has contact until 2025, and even if the compensation amount is high, Bayern will 100% let him go cheap, since in a year he will leave for free.

Kimmich to Arsenal, wow I never actually assumed or predicted such move by Arsenal, this to me is definitely a very wild card move and if Arsenal gets this done it will be a very good acquisition to me. The Arsenal midfield option is currently too poor for a club chasing the league and other European competitions. Declan Rice seems to be the only defensive midfielder always available for selection in matches, players like Jorginho aren’t worthy of starting just every game and should anything happen to Rice Jorginho to me wouldn’t leave up to expectations. With Joshua Kimmich they have a versatile player who can play across the midfield and also as a full back. He is also experienced Beyond limit and his experience will do well in that Arsenal midfield. They need him to replace the always injured Thomas Partey
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 08, 2024, 10:13:45 PM
In this situation I don't think it matters so much where they play, if they are really ready to seriously fight for the championship in such a hard fought game at the end of the season - then they will cope with the pressure of playing away. It's actually nice to see them playing so well for the second season already, in the past they were hampered by injuries to players, in this one nothing has hampered them so far

The thing is playing at home gives you the edge of your fans backing you against just anybody, going away is tricky at the current moment in the league. The away fans might actually be a nuisance especially when it is that of a rival, they push the home team to win. Arsenal or the other clubs coming to fight for the title needs to up their games and prepare themselves more when visiting the away side. A clear example is the resilience of the Manchester United team that almost snatched a win against Liverpool at old Trafford, should that game been played at Anfield it will have gone at least a more favourable way than it is now. This is not to say that the home games are easy to play but not as complicated as the away games
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 06, 2024, 08:16:30 PM
it's practically made for xabi alonso now.

Stratospheric year for the coach and his team, it is no coincidence that he has been contacted by many top European clubs for the next year.
It was probably better for him if he had left the club as a winner, as a hero.
It will be very difficult if not impossible for him to repeat next year.

Definitely a fairytale season for them, one would have argued that a club like Bayern Munich who battled relegation at the start of last season and went on to qualify to Europa league will turn out to be Europe most inform team. Xabi Alonso played a huge role but we can’t deny the importance, hard-work and dedication of the players and most importantly the new signings. Players like Xhaka, Grimaldo, Boniface and the rest settle just right into the team and it’s just fascinating how they play. I hope they went on to not just do a treble but also unbeaten in the entire season.

As for Xabi Alonso decision to stay another season again I think it’s not a bad idea overall, yes they say leave while the ovation is still loud but sometimes an haste movement from a zone could come costly. He might be looking to stay just to improve his tactical ability and other things, at a much bigger club he wouldn’t have the luxury to do that as expectations could be high. But at Leverkusen although there pedigree have grown with this season’s performance I think it will be much more easier than Liverpool or Bayern Munich at the moment.

Three points against Bremen on Sunday and the end of Bayern Munich dominance in winning the Bundesliga every season comes to an end
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 06, 2024, 04:58:02 PM
The situation at have now doesn't even permit any of the top three teams to have a draw, talk less of losing a single match. At the end of the first half, I was a but skeptical about their winning the match as the papa players were pushing hard too. But into the second half, the game changed and they really showed their determination to stay in the competition for the title with the gotta from Debruyne, Haaland and lewis.

The race for the title still much on, Liverpool will have a very though match themselves against Manchester united tomorrow and they're playing from away, Manchester city has done noble today with their deserved victory, Arsenal will also have a though time today with Brighton as they're playing from away. The  heart is too much on the race for premier league title this time around.

I am just loving the title race as we approaching the end of the season, Manchester city were left with a scare this afternoon and they bounce back In brilliant fashion in the second half. This is what we call a Champions response. The Arsenal game tonight is going to be an interesting one as Arsenal will look to head back to the top while Brighton who have a mixed start to the second half of the season will look to close gap on Newcastle who had just won away to Fulham.

As for Liverpool against Manchester United the game will be heavily contested because both need the win to close up to their target. Manchester United have a lifeline after Aston drop points again while Liverpool need to open up gap between them and Manchester City after the later won their game
154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 06, 2024, 03:28:54 PM
The answer is what do you treat gambling? Forex has similarities of gambling too. For me I will place it under the category of a skill but it wouldn’t be as a forex trader only but rather as a Financial Market Analyst. With the technical ability you get from studying charts you can use it on just every Financial market chart.

Also agree with you that it is a skill because you need to learn how to draw or read those chart patterns, but as an hobby I will rather not generalize it as there are people that trade it almost all the time, some treat it as there work and others could even get addicted to it just like gambling. So a skill to me makes it better
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 05, 2024, 09:12:11 PM

Anyway they will only sell him after the end of the season if they want to do so, of course there will be a break and a transfer window when they can both buy a new player and besides, Diaz won't play without a break. For that matter, if he's a professional, he can play all the time, after all, other players don't rest, do they?

This Rodrigo case is mixed because the only way I see Madrid selling him is when they sign another right winger or probably a striker. They currently are still short of options upfront even if Mbappe comes. The likes of Joselu who are loan players will soon leave, so it will be a big hasty decision to sell Rodrigo. Even if Madrid is to release players to actually reduce the wages load I think the likes of ibrahim Diaz and Dani Ceballos will have to go first. They only time I see the young lad leaving is when Endrick arrives and another striker like the Rumored Oshimen or Halaand also comes.

Yes I agree it is highly unlikely that Barcelona would have a chance if it comes down to competing bids between them and Chelsea. As you said, waiting two years for a transfer until the player can play is not something that Barcelona would be able to afford in their current financial situation.

Is this rule fixed that he would have to wait 2 years until he can play? What I don't get is that other players have played in La Liga before they turned 18, or not? 18 sounds so old and there are many players who get their first experience at the age of 17 and even 16.

I think it’s not a rule but you can’t buy them direct to your first team rather they will be registered under your academy and then you offer them promotion. Also I think the amount is the worry because you can’t buy a teenager that amount according to FFP rules and maybe that’s why they want to take the route of allowing him be with his boyhood club before the age which he can sign his first professional contract
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 05, 2024, 08:52:30 PM
Yes, by next season they
Crystal Palace is a bogey team for Manchester City, according to the fans. Manchester often struggle to get maximum result when the face them. But I think this doesn't apply in this circumstance when Manchester City will go well-prepared and well-aware of the importance to win each game due to the fierce of the title race. They can't afford to drop points when they are already three points behind the league leader. This is a pressure to stay close in the title race.

The circumstances surrounding this match forces Manchester City to approach it with a heightened sense of focus and determination. In such a high-stakes situation, City can't underestimate any opponent, including Crystal Palace, even though they have an eye on UCL game against Real Madrid. This situation shouldn't be a reason to expect the league game against Crystal Palace in a low intense. One mistake can cost the their efforts to achieve their glory.

Manchester City have actually in the past found it not too easy to get past Crystal Palace but they definitely use to get the best of them on most occasions, Crystal place in the last 10 matches have lost 6 times to Manchester city drawing three of the 10 encounters. Yes the record is good for a mid table team, but Crystal palace usually fall short after they always use to take the lead against. Last season they let a two goal lead slip away. So for me crystal palace will worry Manchester city but with their recent form I don’t expect them to take more than a point from the game although I will be glad they take more.

need to focus on defence more and also get a new goalkeeper. The defences of both teams in transition and in defence show why they are lagging behind in the league. Both teams can easily lose even a very dominant match with goals from transition. For example, city or arsenal play this dominant game and keep the number of goals conceded from transition attacks very limited, so they lose fewer points than these two teams. These teams should be able to apply this so that they lose fewer points against the relatively lower profile teams of the league. Although those low profile teams play great football, but that's another issue.

I second with you about the change of the defensive line at Chelsea but not the goalkeeper, Petrovic and Sanchez are two excellent options that anytime can have. The goals they concede are mostly not there fault. As for the back line it will definitely not win them anything both Chelsea and Manchester United. Chelsea has a younger squad but without experience, they need to buy more proven players in that position. Every time Silva plays you see a very big improvement because of his experience but he can’t play every game due to his age. As for Manchester United they have a back line who are too old and prone to injury. If I were the management I will let go of Varane and probably Lindelof or maguire and get two new center backs. I didn’t include Evans because he is set to retire
157  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 05, 2024, 03:32:17 PM

This kind of topic was allowed before since addiction is a huge part of gambling in general. I just want to know what’s the real stand of mods on this kind of topics so we can improve and avoid.

I think the mods are looking at gambling addiction threads are more like it is becoming a thing of Redundancy. Even though the issue is a serious one, constantly creating new threads for it with almost same discussions on it is becoming something that bores the mods this days. Or shouldn’t we be looking at it that they might have been people who are actually actively reporting this threads this days, same thing was happening to similar league threads created before and I think the gambling addiction discussion threads is looking like something many People this days do not like and they are reporting it.

One thing I will like to point out is, since if they move the topic to off topic why is that many people do not longer engage on it again, yes there is the issue of not spotting it due to that board been on ignore by some members but the major thing is many people stop posting their because it doesn’t add to their post counts
158  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 5 keys to wealth creation in the crypto space on: April 05, 2024, 02:19:17 PM
This keys wey you talk about so good to put into effective practices In order  acquire knowledge and wealth, but you for also talk about the strategies wey person fit use acquire the wealth make them no Apply the keys wrongly, well make I add some strategies too wey fit still help us acquire wealth on top crypto space,

1. Long-Term Investment: Hold on tight to cryptocurrencies for long time, make money from the possible growth wey fit happen later.

2. Day Trading: Buy and sell cryptocurrencies often within one day to make money from small-small price changes.

3. Staking: Make money by joining blockchain networks come later help confirm transactions through staking.

4. Mining: Produce new cryptocurrencies by use computer power to confirm and write down transactions for blockchain.

Firstly I will start by saying almost all your points listed here are more of a gambling feature than it been an investment opportunity or tool.

1. It is not every cryptocurrency that you should buy and hold for long, in fact the only cryptocurrency that is worthy of holding for a long term is bitcoin, all Altcoins are risky to hold, when you have your money on them take profits when they increase.

2. This one is at least Better as you will earn a little by the profits you get.

3. Staking is risky because you need to entrust your funds into another entities custody. The exchange can easily get rugged and your funds will go with it. Also the APR with staking coins isn’t that good to risk your coins.

4. The only cryptocurrency mining that is certain of reward is bitcoin mining and that been run in Nigeria isn’t profitable anymore due to electricity or power consumption and the amount to purchase ASIC.
159  Other / Meta / Re: Another feature should be added on Bitcointalk SuperNotifier bot. on: April 05, 2024, 01:47:39 PM

The TryNinja telegram bot do notifies of moved post. Just like you had moved this now. I received the notification. It depends on the board you are tracking. Any post that is moved on that board will show a notification on your telegram bot.

Exactly what I wanted to say the bot actually notifies one when a post is moved but that’s when you track a board. Everything from that board is tracked for you. What my guess is the people that do not know about the moved topic do not track that board most especially the gambling board which it’s threads usually ends up been in the off topic board. So OP please lock the thread and go track the affected board.

For future reference anything concerning forum extra bots or sites you can go to the dedicated threads for them as they are not forum specific related to be created a topic for

It sounds like you're weighing the strengths of both Real Madrid and Manchester City in the upcoming match. Real Madrid certainly boasts a wealth of experience among its players and coach, which can be a significant advantage in high-stakes matches. However, it's also important to recognize Manchester City's strengths, particularly under the guidance of an experienced coach.

While you're leaning towards Real Madrid's chances of reaching the semifinals by defeating Manchester City, you acknowledge that Manchester City is a formidable opponent capable of pulling off a victory. In football, anything can happen on the pitch, and both teams have the talent and capability to emerge victorious.

This is certainly the match I wasn’t expecting now but until later stages like Semi final or Final but here we have it. The both clubs are my pick to win the champions league, so anyone winning this encounter will go on to win to the final. But before then my assessment of the team is:

Madrid overall look better than they were last season they look like they play more freely this season and that sort of confidence could make them beat just any one. There short coming this season as however been without a recognized striker which we all know at stages like this you need to maybe a heroic. We saw the last time they beat city, Benzema was at the center of everything.

As for Manchester city they have actually dropped in performance this season and I think they will have to up their game to beat Madrid. The worst is they have a very long list of injured senior players which if they don’t hope some players resume they will have a mountain to climb. Another big advantage to Manchester city again is the fact that the second leg will be played at Etihad.
