141  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Give respect to your teachers and parents on: March 25, 2024, 08:31:59 AM
In most cases, we often concentrate on the children because they are growing up and wouldn't want them to got mixed up with the society influence with bad manners, some of our adults and grown up men were also not left out in these altogether, we must value our parents and teachers if really we wanted same thing to be reciprocated back on us, we are whom we are today through the influence of our parents and the love from our teachers who had vested alot on us.

However, I believe that one of the most serious problems that parents and instructors face today is a lack of time. Both parents frequently work outside the house, and teachers are overworked and underpaid, making it difficult to find time to engage in the education and growth of their children. This is particularly true for parents who are trying to make pay their bills and may lack the means to arrange cultural events for their children. So, when it comes to spending time with children, we must prioritize character above number. This entails making the most of the time provided rather than attempting to fit in as many activities as needed.
142  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything falls on leadership on: March 25, 2024, 08:22:28 AM
Leaders are those entrusted with the will and mandate of a society to lead them, but this don't just happened the leader must have shown character and proof to a greater portion of the society they tend to lead that they have what it takes to lead them

Leadership is so important that many including the first world countries have come to the conclusion that everything falls on leadership, infact any country that is progressing and making impact in the world is not by magic as the development and the progress of any society is a function of leadership

Leadership is the starting point of any country if you want your society to change and be like your dream societies then try to change the leaders that you have
Infact what ever you can't  conceive in your mind you can't translate it to reality this is the story of the undeveloped countries as their leaders can't not dream of them having twenty four hours electricity, that is still why most African countries are still in darkness, third world countries leaders have not dream of their countries being self sufficient that is why they still go and borrow from countries that their own countries is more blessed with both human and natural resources than

Let discuss leadership guys what do you think

Local leaders have an important position in effecting transformation which is sometimes underestimated. It's not only about national leadership; it's about community and neighbourhood leaders who may have an immediate effect on the lives of those around them. They can contribute to the improvement of structures, medical care, schooling, and many other areas. So, in additional to national leadership, local leadership is essential for genuine success. And they must be able to unite others around that vision, ensuring that every individual is working toward the same objective. With this sort of leadership, it is extremely difficult for a country to create  development.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 04:31:36 PM
1. Bonding and Socialization
This is a good example. in my family gambling games has always been part of a celebration. It has become a great entertainment on our occasions and everyone enjoys it. I guess whats different from it compare a "normal" gambling is that you have a chance of winning something without risking anything.

Family games and friendly gambling during celebrations can indeed be a fun way to bond and socialize. In this context, gambling is not about winning money or taking risks, but rather about enjoying each other’s company and having a good time together.
This type of gambling is different from the normal gambling you that most people indulge themselves in because it’s focused on the experience rather than the outcome. There’s no need to worry about losing money or getting addicted, which makes it a safe and enjoyable activity for everyone involved.
It's obvious that gambling has become a positive tradition in your family, and that’s something to cherish and Gambling should often be used for connection and celebration rather than a source of stress or addiction.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: March 23, 2024, 04:24:52 PM
This story is all too common.  Being addicted to anything sucks but being addicted to gambling can crush your life.  Lots of people have lost theor homes and ultimately families because you screwd everything up for them as well.  Gambling doesn't only affect a single person when you have a family that depends on you.  Sucks to hear.

Absolutely mate gambling can make us happy of course we all know that thing and also we know that gambling can make our life misserible. Cause being addicted to a game we can not say that we can get out easily in short it will take years to leave in gambling world once we involve in to addiction. And also it can not happen with our own it will need some people, a family member, or a friend to get over it cause addiction can not be beaten by the asdi t himself.

Gambling can be fun, but it can also be dangerous. Some people can become addicted to gambling, which can make their lives and the lives of their loved ones really hard. Getting over an addiction is tough and usually takes a long time. People who are addicted to gambling often need help from their family, friends, or professionals to get better.
It’s important to be careful when gambling and to know the risks. People should be taught about these risks and how to gamble responsibly. This means setting limits and knowing when to stop.
Gambling can indeed be enjoyable, but one needs to do it safely and not let it take over your life.

148  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin no be old school on: March 23, 2024, 02:34:36 PM
Hello guys, it's been a while since I opted out of the forum due to some personal reasons that affected my schedule. Anyway I'm back and hoping to learn and communicate with my forum family. During my absence from the forum, I met a group of Investors who stated how they have been able to make lots of money via trading of altcoins. They said they'll buy at lower price mostly when the coin hasn't gotten enough volume of trade and market cap, then wait for it to increase in value and then sell. With the way they explained it, it seems they are using quite a huge amount to buy so they'll make enough profit from it, and they have been successfully with that pattern. But what really made me joined their discussion is when I heard them say "Bitcoin na old school na, na for old men". After hearing this I had to engage in an argument with them with the little knowledge I have acquired from this forum and my research, but they keep insisting that trend is the best and quickest way to make it from crypto.

My thought is, the fact that trends of nowadays can easily give a trader more profit than Bitcoin investment doesn't mean Bitcoin investment is for old people. I believe if they were among the first set of person who bought Bitcoin at a cheaper price, they wouldn't have made that statement, but because they came to the market late they feel one can make good profits from Bitcoin investment. Besides Bitcoin is know as a long term project, meaning if you exercise patience you'll be able to taste from the profit that lies in it. And with the current ATH, I believe Bitcoin is not yet done, scarcity will continue to increase as more investors enters into holding and that will cause a price increase.

Those who are yet to buy, don't loose hope because, you will eventually appreciate yourself in the future for keeping your believe in Bitcoin.

Of course Bitcoin no be today e dey o, Bitcoin na old school and if na dat time wey person put serious for Bitcoin now, na e person put before, by now we for don hama, millionaire for be understatement self, we for rich over die, but den nothing we call am, we just think say na scam but now just see as e don be now, na e dey pay some people now but even as dat e get some people for this our time, wey still dey talk say Bitcoin na scam and wen some even managed join, dey go dey talk like say na dem get Bitcoin itself, dem no go gree learn from person, dem dey always do oversabi.
149  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: What advice is best for military wife whose husband cheat on on: March 23, 2024, 02:15:31 PM
My people this issue is like a hook covered with worm to a fish, I get stock and run out of advice to arising issue of a military wife, whose husband is cheating on, as her action is always to take life by carrying out juggle justice, I was opportune to advise by virtue of closeness, tell her to take the case to court, or family of husband or church even any of whom his husband listens to. Also report the husband to their main boss as in the military head where the man is posted, but these was rejected by  of her among  all the option her reason is that people may side her husband as he is not the first to practice it, if your In my shoe what will be your best advice please, it may not be BTC related but let your opinion be problem solving. Please chok mouth

Indeed, that is a very challenging position. It seems like the woman is in a lot of pain and stress, and she also feels like she does not possess many alternatives for getting out of her current predicament. I think your advise was sound; she should seek assistance from authorities or those who may take action in a safe and effective manner. It is also necessary for her to realize that she has significance and importance as a person, and she does not deserve to be mistreated by the man she married. It's also required for women to establish a circle of support of relatives and close companions who can offer mental and financial support during this tough period.
150  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be very careful of third party account on: March 23, 2024, 01:47:09 PM
My country people, i dy greet ona inside this afternoon,  today I wan talk about one thing wey most of us know but we fit still fall victim if we no pay close attention to, and that thing na third party account during p2p transaction.

Even though most exchange dy even warn say make we no accept Payment from third party account, most people, once them see say the person don pay the money, them go just rush and release the asset, not knowing that them fit use a third party account use send the money wey fit put you for serious problem, if na through criminality Dem use gain access to that account them use send you money, so I suggest make we dy careful oo, especially when we dy transact p2p transaction.

This is really helpful information, and it is fantastic that you are raising understanding about this topic. But you should be aware of numerous frauds that could take place during P2P transactions. One popular fraud is the "a refund scam," in which the buyer pays money using a credit card that has been taken and then returns the credit card was taken away, leading the payment to be cancelled. Other frauds may involve sending phony or counterfeit assets, or just not providing the assets at all. If you accept a third-party payment, retain a record of the transaction and the other person's telephone number in case you encounter any complications later on.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 01:26:56 PM
While gambling can bring excitement and joy to some, it's essential to acknowledge its potential negative impacts and risks, such as addiction and financial loss.

Anything has downside even trading that is dedicated for financial investment yet there’s a lot of people still subjected to lose because they don’t know how to trade properly and also the leverage trading feature that exchange offers that typically have high leverage.

Gambling is dedicated for entertainment purposes only that’s why many people feel loss or addicted because they are using the casino in different way just to follow their greediness when playing the game.
Trading and investing may be risky, much like gambling. Leverage trading is especially hazardous since it may magnify both gains and losses, and it can be quite tempting for new traders to employ it in order to make a quick profit. In my perspective, I believe it is still possible to be a "responsible gambler" in the same way that someone can be a "responsible trader"; all you need is strong risk management skills.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 23, 2024, 01:09:47 PM
Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?

It seems that it has a certain level to this subject. While some studies consider betting to drug abuse, others believe it's more of a routine or behaviour. Stress and other factors can cause addictive behaviours, such as gambling, making them difficult to control. So, while gambling does not have similar physiological impacts as drugs, it may be a highly addictive behaviour. So I believe it's intriguing that you were driven to the excitement of gambling and the possible benefits at such a young age. Gambling, on the other hand, is for adult brains since it has serious negative consequences for humans if not controlled.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 23, 2024, 12:58:02 PM
Hi community,

When we make a bet and put our money on the line, we may lose money, time, and even some daily tasks that we neglect, and the first goal remains to make a quick profit with the largest possible amount of money, but I do not know why some people consider bets to be more  for fun  and a way to spend time than to win money.

Personally, I would consider it fun when my budget is much greater than my losses or when I gamble with someone else's money, and this is something I would not do if I had no benefit in it.

I think there are those who agree with me and those who do not agree with me, but it remains my personal opinion and it's an opportunity to share it with you on this topic.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?

I believe it is achievable to gamble properly for certain people, but not for everyone. Some people are more likely to fall prey to an addiction, and it may be best for them to avoid gaming entirely. However, some people can set and hold to limitations, which means they may be able to take pleasure in betting without suffering any bad consequences It is truly on an individual basis. It additionally includes identifying when gambling has become a problem and getting treatment, as well as making a personal judgment whether gambling is enjoyable or not; when an individual is wasting money and disregarding their obligations, it is difficult to see the enjoyment in it.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: March 23, 2024, 11:07:43 AM
I had a friend in the gambling circle,he was gambler addicted person over a year.I had advised him many times, but he is not ready to accept my advice in the gambling.Apart from gambling,my friend accept my advice without any hesitation. When I had a time on weekend,I get a chance to meet him in personal.I had some question about his gambling addiction, but the sad part is he is not accepted his gambling addiction towards the gambling site.

He said that he had nearly 64k dollars as a loss in the gambling site.In order to recover that 64k dollars,he keeps on betting from all his economic resources.I had advice him to use only 20 percentage of salary to get away from entire gambling loss. But he is now repeating the same 100 percentage of income from weekly, biweekly and monthly. So he was in the big loan problem.Still he is arranging funds from loan to play gambling, because he think that the recovery was possible at the place where he lost his money. What will be your suggestion for my friend to recover from the gambling addiction.

Your friend's experience is heartbreaking, and it's evident that he's in a terrible situation, but if he's unwilling to seek professional treatment, you may attempt to get him to join a support group such as Gamblers Anonymous. These peer-led organizations use a 12-step approach similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. They are free to join and offer a helpful place for participants to share their stories and work toward overcoming their addiction. Even if your buddy does not wish to join one of these organizations, encourage him to discuss his condition with a trustworthy friend or family member, if not it will affect his relationship with friends and families.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: March 23, 2024, 10:41:41 AM
Luck is not something that comes all the time and that's what makes it special when it comes to you while you are gambling, some people cheat when they gamble and they said is luck which are all lies but inside them they already know that it want luck but cheating.
However I was lucky to win a bet with my last stake some days ago and I am happy for that, that's why I have to bring it here let's discuss about it, whether you have also win some amount of money with your last stake. I went to a betting shop around my locality then I bet with $10 and lose all of them so I was holding  up to $1 separately for transporting my self back to my residence, but funny how I staked with my transport money and won.
Although, I had more money on  my account that I can use for transporting my self back to my house if incase I lost the physical cash, that was why I wasn't afraid to stake with it.

Your experience emphasizes the necessity of responsible gambling, which entails being aware of the hazards and making educated decisions about how much to wager and when to quit. It's fantastic that you were able to realize that you had additional money on your account even if you lost the actual currency, allowing you to make a more educated decision regarding your wager. Based on your experience, do you believe it is critical to establish a strategy for how much you are willing to wager and adhere to it? This ensures that you do not risk more than you can afford to lose. Otherwise, losing the bet might put you in a bad predicament.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 22, 2024, 11:11:40 PM
The thing is that winning should be secret but sometimes the joy of it doesn't allow the gambler to keep it a secret. But outside that winning of bet is something that should be confidential and not disclose to everyone except for some specific people that are good with you because I know it's almost impossible to not tell anyone about the win that you have gotten or receive from gambling.
the joy of winning can make challenging to keep that information to yourself, but you're right that it's important to be selective about who you share that information with. Telling the wrong person can put you at risk of being targeted by criminals. When deciding who to share your gambling winnings with, consider who you can trust and who has your best interests at heart.
It generally advisable to avoid revealing this information with strangers or persons you do not know well. Instead, consider sharing this information with trusted friends or family members. Check whether the individual you're sharing this information with has a gambling addiction. If this is the case, you should avoid discussing this knowledge with them since they may be tempted to ask for money or gambling tips.
157  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Economical instability : Roles Of Citizens on: March 22, 2024, 04:33:39 PM
Nigeria is facing Economic instability and inflation. The government has failed in many ways in terms of policy making to bring the Nation out from these hardships, corruption has eaten deep in all sectors of the Government. Citizens are complaining all over the Nation because of hardship being felt. However my point of this topic, is that despite the government having the major role to play Citizens of this nation also have their part to contribute by

1.Buy local and Encourage others to buy and support local products.
2.citizens should not use the high price of foreign products to affect locally manufactured products
3.products manufactured locally should be sold at affordable prices e.g palm oil, Garri, local rice, fish, onions, tomatoes, corn cassava wheat etc.
4. Support others in learning what will be beneficial to and their family

What are your input on roles of citizens in this Economical situation

Even if these ideas might work, it's crucial to remember that it won't be that possible to eradicate for Nigeria's economic problems. The problem of inflation is complicated and has many underlying causes, therefore solving it will call for a diversified strategy. To ensure that people have the skills necessary to thrive in a changing economy, the government might also invest in education and skill-training programs in addition to fostering new industries like tourism or technology. It could stimulate innovation and lower operating costs.
158  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigerian System of Education on: March 22, 2024, 04:03:56 PM
I believe that a few nations have effectively reformed their educational institutions, and we can take inspiration from them. Finland is among the nations that spring to mind. Finland's educational system was having difficulties in the 1990s due to low student performance and a teacher shortage. However, the government made significant investments in education over the following 20 years, concentrating on curriculum reform, teacher preparation, and early childhood education. The outcomes were striking: Finland is currently regarded as having some of the greatest educational systems in the world, with high exam scores and a strong emphasis on equity. And I believe Nigeria would need to take note of these to raise the bar for education.
159  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Impact of religion in Nigeria development on: March 22, 2024, 03:58:55 PM
Religion seen to have helped Nigeria in the area of language, provision of social amenities, education, promotion of science and technology, peace and reconcilation. However the impact of religion in a secular state seems to have played out negatively in Nigeria, as politics and religion are mixed in the attempt to gain political leverages and recognition by some corrupt and incompetent politicians that don't have the interest of the people at heart but greed and mischievous interest.
Sincerely speaking, I cannot condem anybody or Nigeria for being a religion motivated country but I condem politicization of religion where people consider religion in terms of making decision in leadership than looking at competency and charisma and this is the major reason why we keep on making mistakes in supporting politicians that will nail us to the wall instead making policies that will relief our pains enhance development in the country.

That's a pretty informative article about the role of religion in Nigeria, and it's true that certain leaders have manipulated and divided people on the basis of religion instead of concentrating on the important problems that actually need to be solved. Well, bolstering the nation's system of religious and state separation is one potential remedy. This might entail changing the constitution to forbid using religion as a tool for political advantage and to explicitly define the place of religion in government. Furthermore, there should be more campaigns to raise awareness and educate people about the risks associated with combining politics and religion. Lastly, there must to be more emphasis placed on the part that religious authorities play in fostering tolerance and harmony throughout the nation.
160  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The causes of hunger in Nigeria on: March 22, 2024, 03:46:49 PM
We know all that you have explained, so what is your opinion on way forward? Because we need solution not repeating this hunger issues on this local board. Hunger matter don already too much make we deyalso profer solution to those problems too because always lamenting about hunger and yet no solution dey make people tired.

Since there is no solution, I think going back to farming is the solution to hunger. If only most people will go back to farming there will be more production or productivity and food will be surplus. And you know one thing about market is challenge, when there is competetion in the market about food production, the price must reduce because it is no longer a monopoly. Like in village where this food is produced it is very cheap but people that buys it and bring to the city always input inflation on it. to meet up the standard of the imported ones and still making those locally made product expensive. If business men and women can  regulate the price of food produce in Nigeria and stop imposing or inflating price on it, things will be cheaper. Just like in Benue I have couple of friends that does yam and pig farming, and they are doing well. The price of those commodities are cheap in Benue but conveying those products from area of production to distribution areas now made it times 3 or 4 expensive than the initial price. so all this things are the reason behind why goods are expensive but if government can regulate this distributed good price things will become cheaper.

Whoa, that's a truly fascinating viewpoint! It makes reasonable that the price of food as a whole would be influenced by the expenses incurred in transporting food from rural to urban locations. It's also true that food prices would be more reasonable for consumers if the government could control food prices throughout the distribution stage. I'm curious if there are any other ways to lower the cost of transportation, such as making investments in better roads or more effective modes of transportation. Additionally, to upgrade the rural access roads so that trucks can deliver cargo faster and more effectively.
