SMLY is being delisted from c-cex.

Make sure you remove your coins from the exchange in time.

I see this project as a charity, and that's right, it pleases that there are people who think about others, but from the point of view of an investor who wants to multiply his savings, I do not see the potential of the project
Thankfully others do not agree :-)

The Quote article is a case in point: http://www.quotenet.nl/Nieuws/Het-wonder-van-SmileyCoin-rijk-worden-met-donaties-209798

We received quite a lot of donations following this and people also rushed in to buy SMLY on the market.

The people referred to in the Quote magazine are investors who want to invest but not in a random project. They want to invest in a project which has a social purpose.

Hi,  I am polycryptoblog,  from Komodo Platform,   I just came across your coin,  I like the practical use case for this cryptocurrency, a way to reward students for performance is great.

I do not believe your coin has been added to BarterDEX,  our decentralized exchange,  I would like to see it there as it would give the students a way of exchanging their coins outside of centralized exchanges which has volume and capital requirements and higher fees.

Due to how BarterDEX works,  you could set up marketmakers and have Smileycoin be a base pair against other cryptos and erc20 tokens.

I am also interested in your educationinasuitcase initiative as well,  perhaps there is a way Komodo can contribute as well.

Sounds good. What does it take?

Sorry but I have 2 noob questions:
1. I still don't get how to mine SMLY. hashlink and hashnova are down. Is it possible to mine it solo?
2. If i keep 25M SMLY in coinomi, do I get dividend? or does it have to be a windows/linux wallet?

tqvm in advance
1 yes; it's only mined solo
2 yes

c-cex is sending general threats again:
Quote
One of our goals is to keep only coins needed for trading. We are changing delisting rules. We will not uncheck delisting mark automatically if coin gain enough daily volume after removal announce. This will stop speculations to keep coin here. Once announced - will be removed.

Do we care? Should we just ignore them? We have plenty of other exchanges now...

I notice in the C-Cex terms that they now require 0.5 BTC daily volume, and there's no warning if you fall too low.  Seems a bit difficult for SMLY to achieve.
Right.  It's particularly difficult since they didn't even look at the DOGE or LTC markets last time where we can in principle maintain volume using bots.

So I agree - let's not worry about it and just point people to other exchanges if&when they kick us out.

Yeah, your method to reduce the fee works, thanks :-)  but aggregating the small UTXOs is awful~  :-(  I hope this can be fixed someday!
Yes, we should think about this. I'm not sure we should allow arbitrarily large transactions. Maybe we should add an aggregation command?
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMLY- smileycoin - for rewards in education on: March 19, 2018, 12:36:17 PM
When trying to move UTXOs around to get those 25 millions, I notice that suggested fee is in the hundreds!  Is it a good suggestion, or could I manually try a lower fee?  What are the lowest fees nodes will stake-mine by default?

Yes, this is an unexpected consequence of the repeated 4500 deposits - the transactions become very large.

I don't think the miners really care. In other words the 1 SMLY per Kb is the default set in the wallet for sending, but I don't think it gets checked by the (miners') SMLY wallets once the transaction has been set up and sent to the mempool.

By all means just try a lower fee and see what happens.

You should be able to do this in the command window using e.g.
Code:
settxfee 0.1
Maybe try a smaller transaction first Smiley

Oh, and since the sheer number of UTXOs in those transactions can become enormous, you may need to transmit smaller amounts, even down to tens of thousands of SMLY, while you are aggregating the really small UTXOs. Just start with a few million, then reduce the amount until you stop getting the "transaction too large" error.

The following exchanges now trade SMLY:

tradesatoshi:   https://tradesatoshi.com/Exchange/?market=SMLY_BTC
southxchange: https://www.southxchange.com/Market/Book/SMLY/BTC
c-cex:              https://c-cex.com/?p=smly-btc
novaexchange: https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_SMLY/

These are BTC markets. Most of these exchanges also at least have LTC markets.

You will recall that you normally get better prices on LTC and DOGE markets than on the BTC markets. This is true whether you are selling or buying.

The coin is in the coinomi wallet but in-wallet trading is not yet supported.

Is there staking or Pos with this coin? Also I'm new to this coin is the dev still active?

You'll need to take a look further up the thread or the "white paper".

In addition to proof of work and mining fee, the coinbase gives dividend payments to large holders and donations to charity. Check out the OP.

The dev group is certainly also still alive.

There is currently more action in the Telegram group.

[ls what is the telegram link u can share pls i also noticed this coin is on conomi

Algorithms: Scrypt, Skein, SHA256d, Groestl, Qubit

is it right? I mean I tried with skein, qubit and SHA but it didin't work. I found just "rejected" share.

How can I use these algos?
Thanks!

All the algos should work fine from within the wallet (solo mining).

This is a typical smileycoin.conf - file.
Code:
connect=<IP-number> # optional - may want to do this to ensure a good connection; pick a stable server
rpcuser=smileycoinrpc # usual setting
rpcpassword=<your-password>
server=1
rpcport=14242  # normal setting - probably not needed at all
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
algo=skein
genproclimit=4 # pick a number which does not kill your computer, e.g.  1 or 2

In the command window (or on the command line) you can then give the command

Code:
setgenerate true

to start mining. This has worked fine on several different computers (mac, linux, whatever)...

Smileycoin is now listed at tradesatoshi, so you can finally buy some SMLY:

For SMLY mining using a Scrypt ASIC, the following has worked.

There are 1 or 2 machines involved. The following assumes the wallet runs on one machine and the miner (bfgminer) on another, where the ASIC is hooked up.

First the wallet machine. In the config file, usually
Code:
~/.smileycoin/smileycoin.conf
on a Linux machine, make sure that you have the two lines
Code:
rpcuser=<your-user-for-RPC>
rpcpassword=<your-password-for-RPC>
where normally one just uses the user and password provided when you set up the wallet. You will need these later, when you connect bfgminer to the wallet.

Next, you'll want lines of the following form:
Code:
server=1
rpcport=14242
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=<the-IP-of-the-mining-computer>
so for example, if your (bfg)miner is on the local area network with IP 192.168.1.57 then that is what you insert here so the wallet accepts incoming calls from that machine.

Also, make a note of the name or IP of the wallet computer.

Once you have this set up, make sure the wallet is running. Under Linux it'll be something like:
Code:
smileycoind  --server &

Next, the machine where bfgminer runs (where the ASIC is connected). Here it should be enough to just run bfgminer off the command line. The settings for bfgminer are highly dependent on the ASIC you are using. The following are the settings for a particular Scrypt ASIC:
Code:
bfgminer --scrypt -o http://<walletmachine>:14242 -u <your-user-for-RPC> -p <your-password-for-RPC> -S ALL --set MLD:clock=600
where <your-user-for-RPC> is usually set to "smileycoinrpc" by default for the SMLY wallet and <your-password-for-RPC> is usually set to a long string generated at startup. You may have replaced both so make sure to check how the wallet is set up (smileycoin.conf above).

Similarly, <walletmachine> needs to be replaced by whatever you call the computer where you run the wallet.

The port here is 14242. The number is largely irrelevant, but it needs to be the same in the wallet config file as on the bfgminer command line (or the bfgminer config file). It should probably be a high number so that it does not interfere with system ports or priviliges.

what exchange rate for now? is it grow?  Undecided
Check it out on coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/smileycoin/
or c-cex https://c-cex.com/?p=smly-ltc

We've got applications for SMLY to be registered at a whole bunch of exchanges now - many more than I (can) keep track of.

If you see SMLY coming up for a vote, please let us know asap so we can all participate in voting.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMLY- smileycoin - for rewards in education on: February 06, 2018, 11:31:00 AM
I've asked for SMLY to be added to the voting queue at CryptoHub.

We'll see how that goes.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMLY- smileycoin - for rewards in education on: February 06, 2018, 08:26:45 AM
I still can't buy any smiley coin it is only listed at C-cex and they will not allow a new user account to sign up.

I would like to see this smiley coin get listed over at Crypto Hub Exchange.

Is this something the smiley dev would consider?
We've no problem with registering at any of the exchanges we've heard of... Is it this one: https://cryptohub.online/ ?

But registration sometimes costs money and usually some work. Do you know what this one requires and is there a reason why we want to go there?

PS Yes, ccex is a problem at the moment. I'm sure you know that we've applied at a whole bunch of other exchanges and Novaexchange will definitely reopen.

Yes it is cryptohub.online and I have had 2 coins listed there already.

If you pay the listing fee currently they are charging 20,000 CROC coins but they do have an option to submit the coin into the voting for a new coin to be added. The only reason to go there is the support is excellent and it would allow users to be able to create an account and buy/sell smiley coin. I have been wanting to buy smiley coin for a long time now and every few days I check C-cex and still can't create a new account there so as of now I still have zero smiley coins.

I feel your pain on paying for exchange listings it is crazy expensive ugh I run 2 coins and am adding a 3rd coin and I also suffer with this same problem.

If you are not able to pay for the listing at CryptoHub and if you do not wish to use the voting system I would pay for your listing there in exchange for smiley coins that would be the same value as the price of the listing Cheesy
Wait, am I getting the exchange rate right: Is this (20,000 CROC) only about 0.05 BTC? That's quite a bit lower than the 5 BTC at cryptopia Smiley

But cryptohub does not seem to be listed as an exchange on coinmarketcap. Why would that be? Are they very new or the volume very low?

I don't see a link to directly add a coin, only to add it to the voting queue.
