141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoind requests on: November 13, 2018, 12:57:04 PM
I've never made an application before but I'm planning to do that and I don't want to use external APIs. Instead, I want to run bitcoind and run commands myself

My question is this, If if ever make the app public, how many requests could my full node handle exactly? or it doesn't matter and It's just a matter of bandwidth of the hosting I'm using?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin SV grow fast in the first month? Will itbe possible to exchange it? on: November 13, 2018, 09:16:15 AM
Poloniex and HitBtc already have them listed as IOU (Futures) so I'm pretty sure they'll be available as soon as the fork happens.

Bitcoin ABC is the likely to take over in the long term though as it has both Roger ver and Jihan behind them but If you take look at the price right now and you take Bitcoin SV + ABC prices together, you'll basically get Bitcoin cash current price. It might be a better idea to hold and see how things go.
143  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: November 13, 2018, 08:05:40 AM
Are you trying to say that using Electron Cash with a hardware wallet is insecure? In fact, it is secure and the same applies to Electrum. Trezor never exposes your private keys. You have to connect your Trezor only during the wallet creation and when you want to sign a transaction. Trezor is busy with more important things, for example, adding support for native SegWit addresses directly to their web interface. Beside the code changes, they would have to run nodes following Bitcoin SV chain.

I know the desktop wallets simply use an API to interact with the hardware wallet so It's still safe but what I meant is that If there is no replay protection then it sound very unsafe.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose bounty? on: November 11, 2018, 07:31:48 PM
1. It's sponsored most of the time, doesn't mean anything.
2. Fair point but all ICOs out there are building modern sites right now. In other words, they're investing in creating the perfect scam.
3. It doesn't mean anything, they could use websites to buy likes, subscribers etc.
4. Same as above, and a simple airdrop where people are forced to join the telegram will highly increase the number of participants. See how active the channel is, not how many are there.
5. Savedroid team are known and yet they scammed everyone. Scammers no longer care about being known to the public anymore. If they make millions, they could simply vanish.
6. Agreed, exchanges usually do their homework, better than everyone else.
7. I wouldn't count on it. Once again, Savedroid is an example.

My point is, If you want to find a good bounty, just take a couple of hours to search about the team members, read the whitepaper etc. If you feel good about it and you found that what they are promising is achievable and you believe thoey could deliver, go for it otherwise just don't.

145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BULL RUN! BULL RUN! BULL RUN! on: November 11, 2018, 11:21:17 AM
I couldn't agree more. If we want to see mass adoption where people join the crypto scene and services start accepting crypto, we need stability because not everyone considers it as an investment and definitely not everyone could afford the price instability.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Regarding debit card projects on: November 11, 2018, 09:35:05 AM
Let's stop investing in them, shall we?

It doesn't matter how much these projects manage to raise from the ICO because the third-party services they use are usually. In other words, If you're expecting your country to be supported by that project even though It's not by any other debit card providers out there, then you're dreaming. It's the central banks that make the laws.

TenX, Monaco, Centra etc. all of these are projects who failed to deliver what they promised to even though they managed to get millions from ICO participants. I'm not saying that they are a scam but we should be realistic. It's always the same projects over and over, and people seem to simply invest without thinking twice.

If I'm wrong then please tell me how did you manage to get your money back + profit from these projects that that claim they'll distribute fees or buyback the tokens from the profit they make.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Trustworthy Stabecoins on: November 10, 2018, 03:58:24 PM
I read a few weeks ago that stablecoins are spreading around and exchanges are embracing them. In the long term, having multiple stable coins could save us, at least one could sleep better at night knowing that the market won't crash in a matter of seconds because these coins are not controlled by one entity and manipulation won't do much to the price.

Also, I was never a fun of Bitfinex and Tether.io, they never look transparent for me so I'm currently looking for an alternative, which is the best alternative stable coin right now? preferably being traded in multiple exchanges as well where there is no KYC needed.
148  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: November 10, 2018, 03:12:25 PM
Thank you...., I was able to identify community leaders for myself (I am talking about those who can really be listened to or sent a question in order to provide the best possible experience with the forum). One question for you - who is responsible for these statistics?

What do you mean for who is responsible for the statistics? All the information's you see on the site are public, they're not accessing anything private. The site was created by Vod and first announced here.
149  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: November 10, 2018, 12:45:27 PM
Trezor servers run Bitcoin ABC software which means that on the 15th November they will follow ABC's proposal. The other chain won't be officially supported (no replay protection and splitting tool) but it will be possible to claim those coins using Electron Cash.

Source: https://twitter.com/Trezor/status/1059424362145763330

But technically speaking, that's also insecure, right? I mean the only reason why Trezor didn't implement this is that they care about the user's funds safety so an alternative shouldn't even be suggested.

A little bit off topic question but does anyone knows what's happening? I mean who's on each side, Bitmain & Roger ver etc. I believe there will be two forks so which one is it are exchanges going to drop the name "BCH" and go with "Bitcoin ABC" (whatever the ticker name will be).
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin - best choice? on: November 10, 2018, 11:41:53 AM
Unlike Dogecoin and other bitcoin forks, Litecoin actually has very active developers who are constantly working, pretty much just like Bitcoin.

If I had to give you an advice, I would suggest buying it because If bitcoin was gold, then Litecoin is silver, you'll never go wrong with it on the long term.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Magnum grants Tezos community a solution for easy delegating on: November 10, 2018, 09:35:24 AM
I still have the .pdf file I was given during the ICO. Could I use that to claim my funds without having to go through the identity verification?
152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We've made a new Bitcoin mixer [Zatoshi Company] on: November 09, 2018, 03:48:42 PM
We've seen a lot of bitcoin mixers that turned into a scam so can you give us a few reasons on why we should trust your service?

It almost feels like If you don't care about your business at all. If you want to gain some trust, try to sign a message from an address where most of the funds are stored to prove that you have liquidity.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: November 09, 2018, 11:11:46 AM
Tezos sites say:

Code:
This KYC/AML process will be available post-launch. It does not need to be completed prior to the betanet launch.

Does anyone have for how long though? I don't have that many XTZ so I'm not really interested in giving away my identity unless the coin is worth hundreds of dollars at least but I'm afraid that the verification process will be closed by then.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin ABC Fork on: November 09, 2018, 09:23:15 AM
Could someone here explain in simple terms what is this Bitcoin ABC fork all about? I believe it's going to occur in 6 days from now.

According to their official website, the definition says ABC is a full node implementation of the Bitcoin Cash protocol. But what does that mean exactly? Shouldn't we be able to run a full node in BitcoinCash client in the first place just like with Bitcoin and Bitcoin core?

If it's simply a software to run a full node just like Bitcoin Knots or Armory for example then why there is a hard fork needed?
155  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet 1.0 Is Released on: November 08, 2018, 03:59:27 PM
Are there any plans to implement more privacy-focused features like TumbleBit? I have been told that Breeze wallet did that but until now, I'm not sure what are the differences between it and CoinJoin and If it's any better.
156  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to create trading website? on: November 08, 2018, 12:26:47 PM
Etherdelta is open source as far as I know so you could find the source code in GitHub. Alternatively, you have Peatio but to be honest, If you don't have any programming knowledge and you're not willing to hire the right people for the job, It's better to not make an exchange in the first place because it's not as easy as it sounds.
157  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Top upcoming proposals on: November 08, 2018, 10:57:00 AM
It's starting to get hard to keep an eye with all the proposals and improvements being developed currently.

Aside from the lightning network and Atomic swaps, I'm not sure how active the development is for other proposals such as MimbleWimble, TumbleBit, Schnorr Signatures, Confidential transactions, and others.

If possible, could anyone experience tell share what is the estimated time to see these things live on bitcoin? (whether It's a beta or stable release)
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About claiming BCD Fork on: November 07, 2018, 04:43:27 PM
I totally understand what you're trying to achieve, so once again, here are the steps:

You find whatever exchange you want to use (say Binance), take the deposit address for BCD in your account and simply use it in dig.walleting.services (you give them your BTC private key) and they'll retrieve the forked coin and send you the BCD to an address of your choice, in this case, Binance's deposit address.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is the best anonymous crypto? on: November 07, 2018, 04:33:51 PM
As of now, It's Monero and I think it's actively being used in the darknet currently. I wouldn't count on it much though, at least not as an investment If that's what you're planning to do.

People who care about their privacy are not much so even though its price might increase in the future, it will be pretty limited compared to BTC where all types of people use it and bitcoin already have multiple proposals to increase the anonymity of the user.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Declining doge prices on: November 07, 2018, 02:18:51 PM
I'm actually surprised that it still exists, and it seems like everyone forgot the fact that Dogecoin was introduced as a joke.

If you check the GitHub repository, you'll see that no commits have been made since 21st January or in other words, no active development. It's also nowhere to find If you search for services accepting it as a payment method. I highly suggest selling everything you've got and to use something more valuable such as ETH, LTC or BTC.
