We cannot enable renting in V.4. So the new players, in order to get a house, must purchase one. The very cheapest construction, not including architecture, BI or landscaping, is about 200,000/sqm, making a 20 sqm house (enough to have a free 1 q lot in B.4) cost 4 million. If anyone cares to make such a development with individual modest homes in their own lots there, he can most probably sell them at a profit for 5-10 million, which is not too high a price for most newcomers. At present the cheapest such homes are on the market by HM, for 25 million. They are located in the bustling 2-W, with a higher land price.
All in all, the Kingdom offers options for the complete range of players, from a few million up to several billion (the Royal Chateau of Versailles, to be built in the coming age, will cost approx. 50 billion m and take up a whole borough of 9 chapelries, already bought from the Town for 9 billion). It is therefore worth 10,000 modest homes.

It is a pivotal time in Crypto Kingdom as there is soon to be an influx of new citizens, and among others, Lord Baron noms would like to be ready for it. I have prepared a large apartment complex design that requires significant resources to be built. It would house over 150 new players and allow them to purchase the dwellings for a nominal price to get started in the game, hence furthering adoption and making an easy avenue for game entry. I would like to inquire about the possibility of investment loans from the The Hypothecary Bank in CryptoTown or other financial-related entities that may have moneritos for lending out. Is there such an opportunity in the current landscape for this type of investment (this would, of course, be including interest payments)? I will be considering the options from my palace library if anyone would care to meet to discuss the matter. The finest caviar and spirits will be served  After the online version comes out, i believe there will be an influx of new players coming into the game. Some will have much BTC, but there are others who will have 0.05 btc worth of various altcoins to their name. That said, spending 50, 75, or even 100 XMR would cost the players between 0.09 and 0.18 BTC at current rates, and I believe it could be unaffordable to a large segment of the population of crypto-and that population is one that is quite important to Crypto Kingdom. The reason we want them? They are btc poor but time rich. They can help the game by putting in player hours (getting CKG in the process) and also by creating rich storylines and helping with new ideas. I am appealing to those out there who are BTC rich (I myself am nearly tapped out-I've put almost everything into CK) to either help me with an investment, or perhaps become partners in a venture to further this vision. |

Master noms has been ennobled (Baron, L9). "2 characters have started the game as Earls, and 2 as Barons. All of these happened in 1400-1420, and they currently hold ranks between Marquess and Duke. Apart from them, TA Lord noms has made it from start to nobility the fastest, in only 9 years, beating smooth's previous record of 10 years. The rank of Baron was eventually awarded to every Ancient character who held at least 4,000 gold. In the Online version, about 5% of the characters are planned to be Barons or higher. Currently we have 28 Barons or higher, which is actually below target due to the 1,600 NPCs who are not eligible to become nobles. In the roleplay version, starting from v.6: Skills and Businesses, the NPC's will be gradually replaced by commoner PC's with their unique skills. Becoming Baron in that era is not impossible, rather it is the initial step for advancing in Nobility, with the most skillful reaching the rank L14 (Grand Duke/Duchess, Grand Prince/Princess, Royal Duke/Duchess), and eventually be selected as the Heir to the Throne. From v.5: Economy onwards, men are mortal, and once great characters will live forever in the Halls of Fame alone. We wish the best to Lord Baron noms!"

Even when my scientists are taking rest, they are inspired by the biodiversity of the swamps. This makes them quite productive - they are generating almost a whole SCI point per year.

Noms the Merchant has spent close to a decade in this land, and he is very excited that he found Crypto Kingdom, and even more-so that he was able to get in early enough to become Ancient! His background has been one of a varied past-he grew up the son of a pauper and after a lot of hard work, has been able to invest his share of the farm he started working on into more and more land investments. He has found a unique opportunity here in Crypto Kingdom and he has put out the request to settle part of 4-E. 4-E will have a palace on it (required to have a building in order to claim the land), but it is also paved with streets, a fine springs in the middle, Pursuit of Knowledge Springs. This springs is surrounded by an elegant green way, perfect for strolls in the morning or to clear your mind as you pursue knowledge. This brings him to his vision for the area. Borough 4 is known to be full of swamps, unknown creatures, and fraught with uncertainty. The aforementioned area is to be developed as a science and research campus only. All of the buildings zoned are to be used for housing (no more than 50%) for researchers/NPC's, and the rest to further the science of Crypto Kingdom. We would like to specifically focus on working on the problem of the "impassable areas" that litter this borough. This land could be well utilized if only there was a way to tame these wild areas, as well as the creatures that may reside within. The other area of research we are very interested in studying is how to get more interesting and valuable minerals/stones out of the quarries. There must be a large amount of emerald, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, and other types of stone such as marble and granite of many different colors. We would like to study the art of extracting these pieces in large chunks so as to be able to use them for gilding streets, buildings, and other community areas. To further support the idea of research, the streets are named Wisdom Lane, Enlightenment Row, and Scholarship Boulevard. Anyone who wishes to build near these streets may secure one of these lots for a nominal price of 1m per quadrat (q) to cover development costs of the land, as it is quite expensive to get stone to Borough 4! The hope is that scientific research buildings will be placed and some of that science may be donated to the town council for enhancing the region as a whole. Below you can see the proposed layout and the different land parcels that will be available in the next year, pending scribe availability to enter into the town records.  |

I bid on the auction for smooth's mined out 5-E parcel of land and won it. I noticed that Your Majesty's friend, rpietila, also placed a bid upon it. Two things crossed my mind-either a) there was a plan for the land, either for certain building types or roads of some sort, or b) there was a requirement for the cost of a quarry-sized piece of land to not go below 1000m. Or, perhaps both of these were in play.
Regardless of the reasons, I ended up bidding and winning the auction. To appease the town council, I was going to ask if there was something they had in mind for the overall plan for the borough. Otherwise I will likely divide the land up and parcel it out, with streets that logically match the 5-C style.
