2.6MH @ chn.bounceme.net:44397 Hi how are you connected to that pool? Looks like via the wallet ?? Or are you using cgminer The wallet doesn't connect to a pool, a mining program does. Now you could use the build-in mining program in the wallet client, but it's not very fast. Since he has a lot of hashpower, he's probably using CGminer or some other mining program.

Can someone explain one thing if i mine via p2poll i have to keep CHNCoin-qt.exe open? or i can close it?
If you are running a P2Pool node yourself, you will have to leave it open. If you are connected to another P2Pool (Such as Bob's), then it's safe it close CHNCoin-qt.

So, I have seen multiple diff jumps from when this was released. The OP says it should be a 60sec block target, I think he must have screwed up tho, I have never seen it less than a few seconds. Is this correct?
If it is always going to be just a few seconds, then the mining will slowly migrate to a specific location / country and mining outside of that area will not be worth it due to latency, rejects and orphans.
I imagine it should begin to fix itself once the difficulty begins to rise significantly. I imagine an enormous amount of hashing power is joining the network constantly skewing the block rate. The difficulty has continued to rise considerably at each refocusing. I thought this was the case originally, and correct me if I'm wrong, every time the diff jumps it should change to around 60 seconds and then, as hashing power come on board, gets back down to 1-4 seconds etc. But I haven't seen this, it always seem to be be continually 1-4 seconds per block, even right after a diff jump? Makes m think the code is wrong, 6 seconds instead of 60 etc Difficulty cannot increase by more than a factor of 4. That's why the difficulty re-target cannot keep up at the moment with the ever increasing hashpower pointed to CHNcoin. It will catch up eventually, though. Oh right, thanks, that explains it, I did not realize difficulty could only do a factor of 4, is that just a made up constraint, or something to do with how the crypto actually works? In that case, assuming the code is correct, I guess the constant 1-4 second blocks are just reflecting the insane increase of hashing power pouring in to CHNCoin! It's a made up constraint, originally implemented in Bitcoin. They have created this limitation, so that the difficulty cannot spike very high too fast, because that might make mining very unprofitable in an instant, which causes many miners to shutdown, leaving the difficulty sky-high waiting for the next re-target. The next re-target will take very long obviously, due to the high difficulty and all the hashpower that left, since it retargets every so many blocks.

I'm mining at the EU pool and getting avg 88 CNC every ten minutes from the UK, pretty good at the moment.
What's your hashrate? That's very good indeed!

First time solo here... I have a quick question about it.
my miner is connected to my solo server, so... finding new blocks are purely based on luck? is it normal that i have nothing for like 20minutes?
Yes, completely normal. It depends a lot on your hashrate how long it is expected to take to find a block.

well after 5 hours with 1000khs + i still have 0 coins.
Welcome to the club When the blocks are moving this fast you really need to be using long poll, or your miners will be spending a considerable amount of time hashing away at stale blocks. I wrote a small guide for setting up a private pushpool for feather coin when it was brand new and the same issues arose. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178286.msg1867412#msg1867412If you take time to set it up, it can vastly improve your solved rate, especially in this type of situation. Is it possible to use Stratum on a private pool instead? Maybe via Stratum proxy? You can, I do it quite often when working with/changing/testing pool software. Will a person running a private pool for a few personal rigs see any benefit? Not really. Look at how long LP has been around and how large pools grew and hash rates increased before the introduction of stratum was needed. But then again , there is always the coolness factor of running the latest protocol... But will you still need pushpool? Or can Stratum Proxy connect to Bitcoind directly?

Is that solo or on a pool Blue? I've been mining roughly 5 hours solo with a similar hash rate and have received about 1000 coins
Can you please post your mining settings? Are you using CGminer?

Anyone willing to zip their appdata directory (without wallet offcourse) and upload it somewhere so I can download it? Still having trouble receiving the blockchain ( Hope this helps you out buddy https://mega.co.nz/#!lkFjQDgT!XVnlQ3yxXjVOYHpQ2SYixwG5-RgSwiHJAqxz4vPFzY8 U Rock!!! Thanks!!! BTW; nice to know you can mine solo without having a complete chain: 131.56346928 CNC already What are you soloing with? (kh/s) and what settings? I just get 'new block detected on network' over and over again.. That is normal, because blocks are being found so fast. Just keep at it

Last problem ( i hope at least ) : the txt file won't turn into an actual .bat file, eventhough I changed the name. Tips ? When you save the batch file as a new file, do this: https://i.imgur.com/I11zfe0.pngAh, nice trick, that worked. The bat runs and cgminer starts up, but then i get an error.... Thank you very much, Bob!

How difficult is it to modify the source to support new coins? I have no experience with Python, but I can program in C++.
|
|
|
I disappeared from the payment list as well, but I'm getting payments just fine. The new pool is _very_ good. Receiving much more than when I was solo mining. Must be just a graphical glitch.

New pool from Bob works so far, good job!
|
|

Using the GUI with "server=1" plus username and password in the config file should be fine for solo-mining, right? Or do I have to use the daemon?

I'm solo mining at the moment, and I've got 9 rejected and 0 accepted. Is this normal with a new coin? Or is my miner configured improperly? I'm using the same settings that I use for mining other scrypt based coins, but that was on P2Pool rather than solo mining. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Anyone? 15 rejected/0 accepted now

Getting tons of orphans and very low efficiency (60%). I've been mining a lot on P2Pool with different coins, and I've always had very good efficiency (> 100% most of the time). What could be my problem?

Necronomicon power activate!
You you still be interested in buying Freicoin? I have 100 I'd like to sell while the exchanges are down
I'm not trying to buy them, I'm trying to sell as well, although with little luck. I guess I'll just have to wait for the exchange to come back online.
