141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 09:29:18 AM
Blockchain.info:

Security: Medium
Accessibility: High
User-friendly: High

Coinbase.com

Security: Poor
Accessibility: High
User-friendly: Medium

If you want to use an online wallet, I recommend Blockchain.info. But if you want to use a secure wallet, I recommend using a PC/Mobile* wallet. You can see a list of good wallets here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

* Android is least recommended.

I sincere thank you for making the obvious comparison like that. I appreciate it. Through the analysis and compare along with the experience and the assessment of you all here , I can draw useful lessons for me about both of web wallet.

And Mobile wallet.
Honestly, I have never used mobile wallet because I was wondering what would happen if I took the phone or it is damaged...
And PC wallet: I am using Bitcoin Core , but sometimes, I usually forget to back it up. I have lost 1.1 BTC for that althought I have still seen it in the blockchain. And @Light recommended me Electrum wallet and I will have a look in it soon.

And I have just seen your link. but I really don't know which PC wallet is better than all. It remains a wonder in me but in the framework of this thread, I haven't mentioned it yet. I may need your help in other occasions.

Once again, Sincerely thanks !

Hi,

I feel confused about these two types of web wallet. I really do not know what kind should I use to store my Bitcoin. I do not understand many of the

issues related to technical of Bitcoin as well as the features of the two types that wallet. I hope you do have experience as well as a good

understanding of the two kind of these wallet for making comments about them to help me be able to choose the kind of better.

I sincerely thank you very much for your help all.

Coinbase is the worst XBT service available on many levels. My guess is that the majority of their profits actually come from selling user data to government agencies and from market manipulation (front running / strategic order cancellations). You might as well just use a bank and fiat, you'll get certainly get better customer service and it's much faster to open accounts and transfer money.

Blockchain.info is far better than Coinbase but I still would not use it except for experimenting. There are too many ways to lose your XBT on there - most notably the TOR vulnerability. 2FA as we use it today is not actually secure.

By far the best 'web wallet' is mytrezor.com - it is well worth the $120US or whatever for the hardware & data service. It's very easy to use and as far as I know the most secure option available. Use that as your bank and then find a nice mobile wallet like Mycelium or Breadwallet to store small amounts on for daily use. The Trezor device needs a higher build quality for the case (the plastic is cheap and should be replaced with wood or metal) and I hear the server has occasional downtime, but I've never experienced any problems with the server or the device.

I am very grateful for your detailed analysis. It helped me to understand many things. Through the analysis and comparison of you here have helped me have a better view of both the wallet. But there are mixed opinions together. Some people say the Blockchain better and some people just the opposite. But most of you will choose Blockchain.
About Trezor, I 've heard a lot about how great it. But I have not used it. Because $120 is a lot for me, although I would be interested to have one of it. Hopefully, I can afford to buy it !
I sincerely thanks for your help !
143  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 08:42:02 AM
I am using blockchain.info and desktop wallet at the moment. Desktop wallet as hot wallet and blockchain as web wallet. This is working quite fine and perfectly for me. I didn't use coinbase yet so I can not say any single word about that. You can try my method if you think this can help you.

Thanks a lot for your help ! But I don't really understand what is your method ? Please help me out about it ! You mean that you will run Bitcoin desktop during 24/24 to keep it sync ? or What you mean for red words ?
Thanks !

I meant to say desktop wallet (window client ) I use to keep large amounts and I also encrypted it with good password. I open desktop wallet once in the morning and second in evening keep it up to date. I transfer funds in blockchain and use it as webwallet to deal with daily stuff. My desktop wallet sysnc just in minutes as BitCoin Core0.10.0 is great wallet very fast and solid. You can keep large amounts in desktop wallet and sync once or twice daily but don't forget to make backup of your wallet.dat. If you need any help still I am available to explain with more words.

Oh! now, I understand  Grin . your method is very good. Previously I had done so but for the transactions related to my Bitcoin irregular sometimes do not open it because it slows my computer speed. I definitely need your help if I do not understand.
I sincerely thanks for your enthusiastic help !
144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 08:29:59 AM
Coinbase have to adhere to VERY strict KYC/AML regulations and they might even suspend or cancel your account, if you use it for something, that goes against these regulations. They have the discretion to decide what services they want you to use or not.
Blockchain.info does not "Ban" accounts, based on the services you use or charge you extra fees for using it.
You could also use Circle as a 3rd alternative, but they have restraints too.  Huh

Oh, That's great information for me too ! this is the first time i heard about that. I did not know about that before. Coinbase might have the right to suspend or cancel the account. I definitely will review this. Thanks again !
I have not yet used Circle althought I have an account of it
145  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 08:22:40 AM
The main difference  is that Blockchain.info provides you with a wallet and Coinbase provides you with an account.

Sounds great ! and you mean a wallet is better than an account ? I really want to know more about that - the difference between a wallet and an account . An account is not as secure as a wallet ? I also had to think like that but not sure. hope you will help me make it more clear !
Sincerely thanks !
146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 08:11:38 AM
Honestly, I know Bitcoin desktop is the best. But for me, it is very difficult to use. Last year, I 've lost money because i forgot to back it up for new

addresses. And sometimes, I need cash or buy anything... Bitcoin desktop can not respond immediately (wait for sync)

I would honestly suggest using neither - there is a much higher probability of you being hacked and your coins stolen. Using a desktop client is best - if you can't remember to backup your data - then my advice is to suggest you use Electrum or another deterministic wallet. It means you can back it up once, and after that it doesn't matter what future transactions you do - they'll be stored if you ever need them in future. Not to mention it doesn't need the blockchain (so you don't need to download the blockchain and keep it updated regularly).

I sincere thanks for your great information !. I'm really yet know anything about Electrum wallet. in addition to find "Electrum" somewhere. I did not pay attention to it. But since today, I will download it. That's is too beautiful for me.Once again, Sincerely thanks for your useful information !

P/S: I had been stolen by a malware link from someone on Poloniex trollbox. At that time, Bitcoin Core wallet is opening for sync ...

If you only wish to store your bitcoin then blockchain is it. Coinbase is better if you wish to trade them for fiat too and Coinbase wont allow a transaction with gambling sites. So if you do some gambling, dont use coinbase. But the most safe wallet is of course a desktop wallet

Sincere thanks for your help ! shulio

I'm really confused about it. Coinbase or Blockchain ? I have both types of account. I sometimes have gambling, but I rarely. So I do not worry about

it. I know the money transfer is very fast in blockchain and coinbase is quite a bit slower but I really do not know which safer ?

Honestly, I know Bitcoin desktop is the best. But for me, it is very difficult to use. Last year, I 've lost money because i forgot to back it up for new

149  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info . Comparing the better and safer ? on: April 21, 2015, 06:51:47 AM
blockchain provides more secure wallet than coinbase, i personally use both wallet but i think blockchain is more secure and has strong security features for online wallet.
If you just need a hyper secure wallet, then blockchain.info provides it. It's the service most Bitcoin businesses use. If you need more than a secure wallet, then Coinbase will provide you additional features such as buying/selling bitcoins (at a cost)

Oh, First of all, I sincere thanks for your help both !

I am using both, It took me time to manage. And because I have no much Bitcoin. Sometimes, in order to have enough money to pay for a deal. I have

to log on and then merge them both back. It made me lose more money (fee) and time.

But as both of you have said above, it really is kind of safer ?

Sincerely thanks again !

154  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Full member account (2011) on: April 17, 2015, 01:10:46 AM
O.15BTC for a Full Member account is a little bit higher. I think 0.1BTC will be more reasonable. You should look for that price.
155  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling my Bitcointalk account (Senior member) < this account, details inside on: April 17, 2015, 12:48:57 AM
As a Sr.Member here, you should be aware that the public name of your account when a sale is not recommended , even you will not sell it.
I think you know this, but I just don't understand why you still do that. Very likely it would have received some negative feedback from reputed member here. And nobody will dare to buy your account since that negative feedback. Here is your excessive subjective.
156  Economy / Gambling / Re: www.bitcoinbev.com - Deposit bonus ? on: April 17, 2015, 12:26:18 AM
Recently i registered and deposited 0.1 BTC to BitcoinBev Roulette and i withdraw 0.6 BTC. Great.

This was 1 week ago, yesterday i deposited 0.5 BTC and played whole night and again i had 0.6 BTC, this morning i wake up and see +0.25 BTC in my account,  0.85 in total, so i guess this is 50% BONUS for my deposit, i haven't seen any information about this and it really surprise me.

Anyone have some info about this, is this new BONUS? is this working only for 0.5+ BTC deposits?

Most of casino sites are give a bonus for new members or for the first deposit. But they also require you to bet enough of wagering before you are allowed to withdraw your money. But I really don't know how you can withdraw 0.5BTC from 0.85BTC. Maybe I wrong !

I would just like to point out that CryptoPyramid accepts Dogecoin now, and it would be appreciated if you could add that to the list of supported altcoins in the OP.  Thanks!

We encourage people to come try it out at: http://doge.cryptopyramid.com

I do not think that your site is not good , but I really do not encourage others to participate . Just a waste of money . I was involved in nearly a month , but did not withdraw a penny . What is the "random member" ? members are just fake for random

159  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for promoter for ref link. Payment in BTC on: April 15, 2015, 04:30:20 PM
I will pay after 5 days , checking his behavior first, anyone can make a lot of accounts and just join to get the BTC.
This post is only for honest people, who will tell their friends, or they can join under me and I send them the guide, plus the money if they stick to clicking at least once in 2-3 days.

Just need "clicking at least once in 2-3 days" without require them for making a deposit ? If so, I think you will get the refs useless
