Plus look at that constant 2500 watt power load, you would be hard pressed to even run this thing on a home outlet.

Do remember that the US has unusually bad circuits.

Dogie, an ignorant statement like that, makes me wonder the level of knowledge you are relaying through your numerous (paid via amazon associate tag) reviews. As an electrical engineer having lived in the U.K, Australia and the U.S, I can say the worst electrical circuits and standards are by far in the U.K. Australia follows close behind with some of the best located in the U.S. I'm not saying the U.S excels overall, and I can name many areas they could improve on, following international standards for example, yet when it comes to residential and commercial circuits, the U.S cabling has a higher over rating than others by far.

Are you.... are you honestly trying to argue that the USA's
110V 20A (16A 24/7) =  1760W
is better than the UK's
240V 32A (36A 24/7) = 8640W
for bitcoin mining?

I never argued over the voltages. The standard of cabling along with the design of the grid is sub par in the U.K and AU period!

http://www.emfs.info/sources/distribution/uk/

In the U.S, every household has a split phase 220V service. In older building, typically a 200A minimum. 400A has been the norm for decades. The capacity of not just the standard of cabling but the incoming capacity is far higher. Whilst single outlets (power points) of standard house appliances are 110V, 220V is also common for dryers, hot water heaters, stoves (ranges), welders (garage point), rv's etc etc. With split phase there is NO PME MEN (multiple earth neutral) system ie, floating EMF's affecting both equipment and people alike. Having had to sign safety books when working around equipment that produce stray fields, well, there is a health reason somewhere there.

Point being, a split phase or star phase system is far more efficient, safer and likely healthier than what the U.K and AU offers.

Once again, I'm not sure if you have first hand knowledge of what you've been attempting to educate people with or are simply regurgitating what you've read another misinformed individual post.

Hi All,

Final and exact numbers for the SP31, SP35 and SP20 will be released tomorrow.
Shipping of the SP31 will begin tomorrow morning as well. As this is much smaller batch than previous ones there will not be any issues shipping the entire batch within the promised time frame.

The SP20s are also expected to be shipped in time. Should there be any issues with shipping in time we will compensate.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for the slow responses,

Gadi

sp20 should be shipped at half of october
we are in november now
no proof of sp20 hashing/shipping still..

pity

bbxx, I believe it's still October with 3 days remaining. You may want to check your calendar again and find a better time server.

"AMT Miners was the third bitcoin mining company in the world and on the planet to introduce bitcoin terraminers."

~Joshua Zipkin

Am I seeing this correct? ~0.09W/GH? Really???

That is possible when spondoolies recently mentioned it is expecting to release their gen3 in December at 0.1 w/gh + $0.2/gh? (and no preorders?)

Follow what most of us have done and started purchasing the Prisma line. Check the group buy forum. Friedcat and what they have coming next year will amaze.

bitmaintech have had their day and simply are targeting hobby people with their liquid cooling (costing more when all costs combined) and their shiny paperweight's.
146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S3+ Bitmain Miner power arrangement on: October 24, 2014, 01:49:56 AM
searching these forums, you'll find the ratings of many power supplies so you won't need to speculate as to how efficient or noisy they are. Failing that, google it.
147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why cloud mining is a zero sum game on: October 22, 2014, 08:26:58 PM
completely agree.

Cloud mining is like paying rent. It's lost money. If the owners of cloud mining services could make more not renting their equipment then of course they would. But they make more from peasants thinking they can make a fortune. Common sense people.
148  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What can I use Bitcoin miners for other than mining? on: October 22, 2014, 08:02:45 PM
i heat home in winter with them

Its unhealthy.

Whilst almost every electronic device offgases nasty chemicals, you can use a heat recovery air to air exchanger. For example, google something like a Fantech - SH704 - Heat Recovery Ventilator. You can reverse the process to keep those nasty chemicals separate to your living space air.

From what I've read, I'm guessing they are trying to avoid jail time by "giving back" to the community. too big to fail!

1 Prisma shows as 8 boards, which explains the 4bit address space.

After 25 minutes running.

Lot's of padding.

Sweet... any chance you could hook it up to a Kill-A-Watt?

Running via 2 dell 750w server power supplies from sidehack on a 220v circuit. My PDU shows 5.4 amps, so that should be around 1188 watts. Assuming it averages up to 1474 gh/s, that gets us to about .8 watts per gh at the wall. Should be a bit better if you drop down to one efficient PSU.

Any chance of the sound level at 1m?

can the shipping label be sent as a pdf via email and printed out on your end?
153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: October 20, 2014, 06:31:38 PM
hi, i just wanted to buy 8 antminers s3, at the price of 4 btc, and they ask me 2.59 for shipping with ups.
anyone knows something about this, cause they didn t say anytihing of shipping costs.
Ridiculous!
Yes, they started adding extra shipping costs with this batch of S3+'s .... but they seem to be quite liberal at how much they charge in total disregard to ROI of the buyer!
ADVICE: Get 8 vouchers to reduce your unit costs (they are worth ~0.035 to bitmain but people are selling them for 0.015 or less)

I don't have a fixed price for coupons.
If you want coupons, pm your offer price.
I have total 12Coupons in hand for S3+.

i have coupons, but i canno t pay 4 btc for units and 2,59 btc for shipping

Likewise, I also have dozens of coupons but when you can only apply a measly one per order and those coupons are small to start with, on top of that shipping is now added, it's time to look at the competition. Or as pointed out, buy some more bitcoin and sit on current hardware till new 20 and 16nm hardware is released very soon. Not by bitmain that I know of.
154  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and 6" 18awg splitters - great for server PSU on: October 19, 2014, 07:09:43 PM
Just got these in today - I have several hundred of the 24" cables a (which turned out better than imagined!)

24" LEADS
6-pin PCI-e connector (black)
120cm (24"), 16AWG wires (yellow and black)
stripped ends on wire  (0.5cm)
These are solid connectors and far superior to the garbage 18AWG connectors found on ebay. I have yet to test them on hardware, but there should be absolutely no problem carrying 250W or more (potentially upwards of 350W) through these leads. (In comparison, I have seen other cheap 18awg wiring melt or burn at over 150W)

6" Y-SPLITTERS
(M-F-M) connection, with each branch of the y being 6" (15cm) long. perfect for devices like the antminer with a little bit of slack to spare.
18awg - should handle 150W without issues, and possibly over 200W. Please use discretion though, if the cable gets too hot it may not be suitable to your application

Just a heads up. 120cm is NOT 24". 60cm is approximately 24". Or perhaps they are 120cm long in which case they are approximately 48". Large price difference.
