141  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 11, 2024, 03:56:36 PM
As an active smoker, I really understand the dangers posed by the nicotine contained in cigarettes, apart from damaging your health, cigarettes can also empty your pockets. I have repeatedly tried to quit smoking, but always failed. Every time I'm working in front of a laptop, my mind feels like it's frozen and it's hard to get inspiration, without a cigarette my mood can't work together.
Even though I haven't been able to completely stop smoking anymore, I am getting used to reducing my dependence on cigarettes. Usually I could consume two packs every day, but now it has started to decrease to one pack. Luckily you have been able to avoid smoking addiction, try not to be tempted anymore, you will get many benefits from quitting smoking.
Same with me, life without cigarettes is like life without color. Because I'm addicted, every day I definitely finish one pack. If you think about it, the money that was burned could create business capital. the number of cigarettes since starting work is because people are addicted to cigarettes and carry on the same thing until now. very difficult to avoid

I personally know a man who smokes everyday, and when I suggest to him about smoking less for the sake of his own health, he has told me smoking is important to him, because it helps him to relieve anxiety.
Though, I had always thought anxiety was created by the addiction to nicotine itself but not so long ago (thanks to his explanation) I learnt that tobbacco can be effectively good for people who suffer from stress not to feel stressed and keep themselves relaxed while facing their job duties.
That explains why it is so difficult for some people to completely quit smoking.

Another person who used to be a smoker has told me that sometimes he feels like smoking, even though he completely quit cigarettes about 20 years ago. Though, he managed not to smoke again and stay away from it. I guess people like me, who do not smoke, underestimate how addictive nicotine can be.
Classic short-term relief vs. long-term tragedy. Your friend may feel "relaxed" by smoking, but it's a costly health and financial crutch. Ever calculated how much smoking costs? In addition to packs, health expenditures, lost productivity, and insurance increases

That nicotine reduces stress? Addiction speaks. Nicotine's withdrawal and relief cycle fools smokers into thinking it relieves stress. No, it's the cause. What about ex-smokers' "desire"? It's just the brain's addiction memory. Breaking free requires changing one's stress and health attitude, not just quitting. Making sensible, healthy decisions is hard, but nobody said it was simple. It's worth it every time

I already helped him to calculate how much money he is spending daily on filing his addiction or dependence to cigarettes and I have also noticed how everytime I get closer to talk to him he smells like tobacco. He is one of those smokers who have embraced (at least for now) tobacco as part of his life, he has been smoking for at least 14 years now.
I don't know how it must feel to be a smoker like he his, but nicotine must have certainly some powerful effects on ones brain if one is willing to stick to it for that long while being aware of the long term damage it can be done to one's lungs. I have seen people who try to fight the dependence through the use of screwing gum, but while it may help to reduce anxiety, it does not help much with the chemical dependence the person has on nicotine.

90% to quit smoking is very difficult like me. What I experienced when I smoked was that stress or problems made my emotions subside and make me more relaxed. It's true that if you think about it, burning money can buy valuable things, but it's hard to stop. I'm trying not to smoke too much so that I can manage my finances better

Whether smoking meaningfully affects personal finances in the long term also depends on the quantity of cigarettes one consumes daily. I have my self seen people smoking around one box per day, half box per day and someone once told me they need to smoke two boxes per day to stay relaxed. Obviously the economical impact of smoking is going to be bigger and more negative in those who smoke the most.
Also. Have you thought on alternatives for smoking which would help you to quit faster and without suffering the nasty withdrawal effects? I have read alternatives which directly help to curb anxiety can help to be less dependent on nicotine, another different approach is to buy nicotine toothpicks or nicotine patches, though those are not as available as other more common alternatives (chewing gum or screwing tobacco), and usually are more expensive than cigarettes.  Sad

Smoking less is a good first step, there is no doubt about it, however, smokers who wish to completely quit it have to have an exit plan for the long term, in my opinion...
Of course it affects my finances. I once used 3 boxes of cigarettes a day because of high depression and the only way out was cigarettes which could calm me down and help me think. For me, burning money for 3 packs of cigarettes is no problem when high depression becomes an outlet for anger. In my place there are lots of active smokers from young to old people

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano vs Ethereum on: February 11, 2024, 11:05:50 AM
Do you think Cardano will replace Ethereum?

Personally, I think that both blockchains will develop in different directions in the future.
Both blockchains would therefore be relevant and coexist.

I personally think of something like this:
Ethereum = DeFi
Cardano = dApp

I also thought of something like this:
Ethereum = NFT & Gaming
Cardano = dApp & DeFi
Cardano will not be able to replace Ethereum. because we can see that the ecosystem in Ethereum continues to develop rapidly. Not only in Layer 1 but layer 2 is also developing rapidly, such as Arbitrum which is also continuing to develop. ADA actually also has its own advantages. So I also think that both will go side by side and have their respective advantages and disadvantages.
That's right, the ecosystem is developing rapidly. On the other hand, the ethereum ecosystem has mostly great projects and rarely scam projects. The ethereum hype will probably continue to grow, with the encouragement of this large ethereum airdrop causing the community to explore transactions in the ethereum ecosystem.

Maybe you think it's good, I don't necessarily just look at the media, I'm not sure about this project, sorry. I suggest you be careful in investing. burning 50% tokens seems extraordinary but looking from 2021 until now the project has not seen any significant signs. like your target is 1000$, the current price is 0.02$
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship Between Cryptocurrency and Traditional Banking on: February 10, 2024, 05:25:32 PM
If traditional banks should disappear today, I would miss them and this is most likely true for most other people in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. A reason why we all use the traditional banks is that in the past, it was need and kind of the only choice or offer on the table. Look countries that are still developing a good number of their population are not "banked". Basically, banks are just payment services that aren't really doing anything in terms of value to their community other than bringing in profits for their shareholders.
The whole economy would collapse if banks were to disappear tomorrow because the capitalistic system is too dependent on them. Unfortunately, they're a necessary evil; you're getting paid through banks, conducting payments via transfers or cards, and withdrawing money. The current economy wouldn't function without them. Although cryptocurrencies can also conduct transactions, most of the time even faster than the banking system, they haven't been adopted for daily usage and aren't as convenient as simply paying with a credit card.

Fighting the banking system is wrong; I don't think cryptocurrencies will ever be able to replace them. I don't think that was their purpose anyway; they're meant to co-exist, although only a small part of the population has adopted them.
Banks are very important nowadays and are very helpful in any field, yes, even though the existence of crypto doesn't mean it will eliminate banks. the only advantage of the crypto world is that transactions can be seen by the public. It's different from a transaction bank, only the bank can know and it's private. The two concepts of banking and crypto are mutually beneficial
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season coming soon? on: February 09, 2024, 05:27:49 PM
Graphically we are not there yet, but the probability of an altseason is only increasing, there is room for many of them to multiply the value.

What do you think? Are we heading towards a new altcoin season?

edit: updated chart, January 11, 2024

in my personal view altseason is close to the news of the bitcoin halving and the btc etf being approved i think we are one step closer to approaching altseason i think after the bitcoin halving and the ethereum etf trial the altseason has just started i'm just sharing my opinion and what's on my brain what is your view?
if the ethereum ETF is approved will the same scenario happen? bitcoin ahead of the halving from history there will be a correction usually, and whether the ethereum ETF could be a weapon for the next FUD. Wall Street is always looking for opportunities to buy Bitcoin at low prices. while the bull season is coming soon
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 09, 2024, 12:01:33 PM
That's right, don't waste the best opportunity before Bitcoin goes to the next month. Many believe that this correction will actually be the final position. The bitcoin halving is only a few months away from the countdown, there will definitely be a bitcoin price position below the dip in the coming week
I expect the price of Bitcoin to rise a lot in the next few months. However, there is no definite understanding of how many days the Bitcoin market will recover. In order to invest in Bitcoin, you need to have good experience with the Bitcoin market and be very patient.  There will be less risk. Never take any decision in haste while investing.
Indeed, taking action must be careful before taking steps that will face risks, whether big or small. If you have planned it feels right, carry out your trust. Investment is indeed full of risks, but there are times when we buy coins at the bottom, there are times when we take profits when the altcoin market turns green. Of course you need investment material
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Safe is MetaMask? on: February 06, 2024, 10:29:13 PM
Metamask is a good swallow to wear during use, if you have questions about safety it all depends on yourself. How to take good care of it is not easy, as bounty participants may be familiar with the busy world of airdrops. and Don't easily connect our wallet to the Airdrops site, which means it's not easy because many wallets are lost, which is a key effect
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Solana airdrops speculation on: February 06, 2024, 07:02:52 PM
The hype trend for the Solana airdrop is currently busy with the community exploring the Solana ecosystem, many are chasing points from several Solana ecosystems, it is rumored that there will be an airdrop with a system of converting points to coins from the project. Not only the ecosystem, the Solana network meme coin also follows. Many investors try to buy the Solana meme coin in the hope of a 10x/100k increase
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 06, 2024, 04:50:20 PM

We saw Bitcoin reach around $49k after the Bitcoin ETF was approved. It reached 38 thousand dollars by dumping from $49k. Bitcoin is now between $38,000 and $43,000. But since we have seen the market dump before the Bitcoin halving, we can expect dumping before the Bitcoin halving. It is still a good time to invest in Bitcoin but if anyone thinks Bitcoin will buy from more dumping conditions then you can wait. But it is better to invest using DCA method because even if there is no dumping of market, if you invest in DCA method from now then your investment success will be more.

This might be the last chance for us to see a price as low as this one because when another company announces their implementations of bitcoins, surely the price will further increase and will not give us another chance to buy this low and that's why this is the right time to buy if you have been doubting since last year because the bitcoin halving is approaching and there won't be a better time to buy other than today. After the price crashed not so long ago, we see that it recovered again and it's still at $40,000+ this is an indication that we are holding solid ground rather than seeing the price to further after the ETF event.
That's right, don't waste the best opportunity before Bitcoin goes to the next month. Many believe that this correction will actually be the final position. The bitcoin halving is only a few months away from the countdown, there will definitely be a bitcoin price position below the dip in the coming week

when entering the bull season suddenly many people are altcoin chart experts yes even though it is just an attraction to follow the group they have prepaid. attracts beginners who are curious about the words profit. If enter the bull run, everything will go up in altcoins, don't trust people easily. only ourselves need to research
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low cap altcoins best for rising price? on: February 05, 2024, 10:29:55 PM
Lol that is the old way of believing because Low caps are even used as strategy of scam projects nowadays not like in the past that they are copying what Bitcoin chain is and has a limited supply.
but in our time now it is stupid to just believe in them not knowing that you will end up being scammed by them so better look at the project deeply.
What old way, you mean? Yes now there are many scam Altcoins out here claiming what they not, but in the possibility of getting a 100x then this new Altcoins are the ones prone to making such happen. If a person becomes so lucky to get one before the very pump as they are known not for the long run or continuity but for their price dump and pump how quickly they yield profit.
for example, selling an asset that we own and after it has gone up 5x, we feel like we can't wait to sell it quickly. It's rare for a coin to have a huge potential for a 100x increase, whether for a bull season it might be a great force in a new project. Historically there have always been several projects that have gone up with appropriate expectations
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 05, 2024, 07:56:41 PM
Bitcoin is my favorite coin and has advantages. If I didn't know Bitcoin, maybe my life wouldn't have changed. After getting to know Bitcoin, significant changes occurred. Bitcoin is my short-term investment to get profits every month, although the profits are not always the same, but I am grateful to get money without big risks, the risk is minimal, only the price goes down
Due to the price volatility, I think it is too difficult for anyone to consistently make a profit from investing every month.
I'm not sure if you can really make a profit every month, but so far I haven't been able to make that kind of profit every month because of price volatility. Sometimes the price rises high in one month, while the price falls and corrects in the following month, it makes the value of the total investment fluctuate which is unlikely to make the holder consistently make profits.

Bitcoin in concept is a decentralized currency, but in practice bitcoin tends to be considered an investment asset that allows investors to get returns in both the short and long term. Of course, many people have changed their fate after getting to know Bitcoin and they have reached the top level, but that is not the main purpose of bitcoin's birth.
What I mean is playing futures in the market to earn my income every month. If you only save Bitcoin, what you say is true because Bitcoin's movement is not very fast, so in terms of future market calculations it is a mainstay for me to make a profit. Sometimes other altcoins also need to be paid attention to
155  Economy / Economics / Re: Carbon markets and climate change mitigation, Are we in the right direction? on: February 05, 2024, 04:55:00 PM
I'm not an expert in this science, hearing about the carbon market seems funny. what I have seen in YouTube videos is that to maintain the balance of the earth,  must reduce excessive industry. Due to the growing effects of industrial changes, hot temperatures are increasing and the climate is not controlled. the concept of things like that is just a method that causes itself to become damaged. like rising sea water due to the effect of large ships which continue to increase due to great pressure

157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free promoting a project by managing careless manager! on: February 05, 2024, 10:32:23 AM
That is depends on project team how they wanna get promoted their project and so is instructed by them to bounty manager. So bounty manager have less power to handle such things except sheet checking. Thats the reason we have seen unlimited participation for limited rewards and get a little amount at the end. Besides still bear run in on the way, that's most of team delay their project. That's why you will found a lot of bounties from bounty sector but we are having less legit bounty but waves of bull run is showing its.presence. so hope legit projects will come soon
For me, following this year's bounty, you have to be careful so you don't waste time, many of the current coin project bounties don't have a price yet or may have a price but it's not commensurate with our performance. maybe for this year there are several bounties that are the hope of all participants because of the support of the upcoming bull season and this is the target of the project founders.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops speculations thread on: February 04, 2024, 10:38:42 AM
WEN airdrop accidentally got the criteria wallet allocation. Starting from accidentally making a transaction on the Jupiter Dex just for fun with 50$ capital, can get a 200$ WEN airdrop after the WEN coin price dump, for me the WEN airdrop is like a hidden treasure because there is no information about the upcoming airdrop
What do you mean? $5 worth transaction on Jupiter dex was required to get $WEN airdrop, after the dump it's is worth $35 right now, at ath it was $100, not $200. What upcoming airdrop?

But, just now I realized I fucked up, the grants were over on 24th January, dunno why we were able to donate after that, myself donated on Jan 25th.
Clarification on this, you could donate and donation would still go to timeswap, but your donation wouldn't get matched by polygon grants unlike if you donated within the timeframe. For example if you donated within timeframe, for every $1 donated, polygon grant would match your donation with quadratic funding.

Misc:

1) On Mode network if you decide to park your funds there, remember that it takes 7 days to withdraw back from there.

2) Dop network galx quests live: https://galxe.com/DOP

3) If you don't have enough $MANTA to stake on Manta network, you can supply on Zerolend and farm $EarlyZero which will be converted into $ZERO later on.

You may use my ref link to get 20% points boost: https://airdrop.zerolend.eth.limo/#/?invite=P4CsDtIvpfaQ (feel free to remove code to join normally).

4) TimeSwap retrodrop snapshot: https://talkimg.com/image/vXkO8

Timeswap has nft collection that'll likely make you eligible for retrodrop, rare ones are rather expensive so I'd not suggest to buy 'em (but it's your money or unless someone fills your cheap offer), but if you are already holding nfts, continue to holding them might be a better idea.

https://opensea.io/collection/timeswap

I got a WEN airdrop allocation. 2 wallet sorry I wrote it wrong. Yes, each wallet gets 100$ but there are people who get 600k WEN which is equivalent to 600$ when the countdown to claim WEN coin volume is still high and sells quickly. I saw it in the Telegram airdrop group. when many people claim WEN sells quickly until volume drops
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 03, 2024, 02:09:48 PM
By default, every investor targets an investment with the intention of profit making, not without considering the risks and management of it though. If this is the basics of investment then it is not out of place to say that every investor in Bitcoin expects to see the price of Bitcoin appreciate irrespective of the market sentiments.
The main goal of investing in Bitcoin for me is to seek profits in different ways by saving long or short term. and for the rest, I choose short-term investments because prices will change one day due to various effects that have occurred. Long term is also good as strong support for the upcoming bull season becomes significant
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: February 03, 2024, 07:15:02 AM
The progress of ethereum coin development is increasingly extraordinary, with long-term potential and there is no mistaking investing in ethereum coin. ethereum's progress made me save with the prospect of an ethereum bridge airdrop hype. There are many extraordinary things if we store ethereum in a private wallet carefully. the other side is waiting for ethereum's ATH to 10k is the target
I also expect the same thing. I am quite confident that the price of ethereum will go higher, especially after the halving occurs. Previously, I had made good profits from ethereum, and now I also plan to use ethereum to maximize the profits I have. I also believe that when the price increase occurs, the price of ethereum may approach or reach $10k.
maximizing the ethereum network platform for me is extraordinary to be able to explore the ecosystem that ethereum is developing. Bear season may be ending soon and will give way to the upcoming bull season. Certainly the bull season of full support for altcoins will be significant in the number of new ATHs for each altcoin on the market
