141  Economy / Goods / 14% off BFL ASIC SC Single Preorder (including free US shipping on 9 units) on: July 03, 2012, 02:51:07 AM
I'm an owner of Butterfly Labs hashing power and as many others I'm faced by the ASIC pre-order decision.
I'm more interested in preserving my current value than expanding my mining operation, and BFL honors dollar-for-dollar trade-ins up to 50% of the ASIC purchasing price.

So I'm offering 9 BFL SC (ASIC) Singles up for pre-order (usually priced at 1299$) directly from BFL.
With my trade-in I will be able to sell 9 units for 1120 USD each (that's a discount of 13.8%).

If someone's interested in having all 9 available units, we will do this directly through BFL (your funds go to BFL, they will be told to send 9 units from my order directly to your address).
US Shipping is paid by me if all 9 units are bought (then they are shipped from BFL directly to you).

Actual shipping dates are at the mercy of BFL of course.

This offer will give you a serious discount if you are thinking to pre-order SC Singles!

PM if interested, buyers of the whole lot are preferred.

Cheers!

So I just went today to make the wire transfer to the bank but they told me the data that BFL gave me was insufficient to make the wire tranfer?

Anyone had the same problem?

Strange...BFL should have sent you the account #, the routing #, bank name and address, account name and associated address. I can't remember what it was called, but I think there was also another number needed for international transfers. That info should suffice for the transfer. What info did your bank say was missing?

I would think you need the Swift number for international transfers. But that's included in BFLs instructions. Sometimes they want the phone number of the other party (that's on their website). Having done the bank transfer (domestic US), and looking at BFLs transfer instructions, I don't see what could be missing. Could your bank be a little more specific, swissmate?

Ok... I think I have all the worker speed calculating functions working peacefully together.  I'm sure I've forgotten something, so let me know what's still broken!

Inaba,
Thank you!

Everything seems to be working smoothly right now.

There's one tiny broken feature: The profitability tab isn't working for me (not that I need it though).

Looks like ING P2P does not work for $ withdrawals from Bitfloor; is this correct or did I miss something?

What was happening last night?

Got 3 alerts that my miner is down (while it was actually mining ok), and the hash rate spiked at about 880GH/s.

Thanks, BFL.
That info helps.

147  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: It's time for an ASIC subforum. on: June 24, 2012, 02:45:52 PM
Just rename it to BFL
And rename the project to BFLcoin.  Wink

That's what they have to be careful about, when throwing a large load of ASIC power on the market.

or we'll have BFLcoin and OpenCoin...
148  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: It's time for an ASIC subforum. on: June 24, 2012, 02:42:30 PM
Bleh, just rename the FPGA one to FPGA/ASIC.
+1

Seems if ASIC is taking off with neighborhood of 40 times (according to BFL) the hashing rate of FPGA, whenever that happens, we just have more ASIC and fewer FPGA posts here.

149  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Preorders -- What did you get? | Who has the lowest order number? on: June 24, 2012, 02:03:43 PM
I'm a bit unhappy about the announcement mailing list not being used as well. Why did I bother signing up for it?

Yep, I was wondering that too.

also, ordered a 1 Single upgrade. It's a hedge: I am not nearly convinced they will deliver in October (which would be good for my FPGA), but then again, what if they really do?  Undecided

@BFL

Regarding BTC being the only initial payment option.

You should recognize a significant number of existing customers that have funds tied up in either immediately received Singles or Singles yet to have arrived.

Can you imagine how this segment of your current customer base would feel if they are forced to the end of the line?

Yes, that's me completely!

Yet another BFL thread I need to watch...
152  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - release notes on: June 22, 2012, 08:45:15 PM
@BFL, thank you for your clarification!

Could you put an indication of the load on each of your servers on your site?
Currently on US2 and my rejects have gone up a little over the last 24hrs, I'm wondering if it's load based and I could switch to another server.

That reminds me to ask this question:

US1,US2,US3 all point to the same IP address.  Are they still different servers?

I'm using DGM and have currently pointed my miner to US2, is it meaningful to have the other servers (US1 and US3) as backup?

Looking great! *drool*
 Cheesy

If they received any venture capital, they would have had to file an exempt distribution form with the SEC. They have not done this. A search for "Butterfly" in EDGAR reveals nothing of Butterfly Labs, Inc.

C'mon, guys, if you did a financing, let us know the details...

Ah, the LargeCoin guy.  Haven't heard anything from you for quite a while. Maybe you can give us an update about YOUR state, preferably on YOUR thread?

Shoot, this will completely destroy FPGA and GPU builds if this gets out on a quick (<6 month) time scale.

Which reminds me, what is the time frame until we see them getting shipped?

157  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: June 16, 2012, 02:54:01 PM
It doesn't matter to me. Sending them back cost me more than what their entry products cost.

But as I understand it, you wouldnt get the entry product, but the price equivalent of what you have now. IOW, if you would send in two FPGA singles you should get ~1 SC single @40GH. I dont see why you wouldnt take a (nearly) free ~25 fold increase in hashrate. It may be a band-aid on a wooden leg, but better than nothing and Id be surprised if it wouldnt at least cover shipping fees.

noo. they stated they are trading 'hash for hash'. Meaning one jalepeno would cost you 3.5GH/850MH in singles..  Or 4 singles + $60~ for those bad at math. Or $2460 for one jalepeno if you trade in your singles.....

cheers

Seriously? Can you find that quote? I was certain it was $ for $.

Too many connections. Positive problem, but I'm getting tired of regular downtime...

Yeah, around the time punin posted this, my BFL singles switched to a failover pool for awhile.  Actually, they switched to the #3 pool, since both my #1 (EMC) and my #2 were down.

Yep, same here, same time. And it wasn't the Singles this time, they were happily mining at the backup pool for some time.

From the PR release:

Quote
Because our first and second generation equipment is expected to be outpaced very quickly by the new hardware, customers who have purchased earlier generation products will be able to trade them in at 100% of their value toward the purchase of SC-generation hardware.

They will be spending half a year just replacing outdated hardware at no extra cost.  Why not just go with cunicula and (quietly) own the whole bitcoin network. Hm...

Need to watch closely...
160  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL Mini-Rig Order Date/Ship Date on: June 16, 2012, 01:13:25 AM
Order Date: May, 10 2012
Shipped Date: July 10th
Quantity: 1

ALSO Ordered

Order Date: May 22, 2012
Shipped Date: July 22
Quantity:  2

Still waiting but it sucks when a company sit on your cash for more than 30 days.   I would have saved in BTC and saw 20% return.
I would buy 5 more but that much cash in the wind for 60 days is just crazy.

I'm not sure where you got the 60 days, the Mini-Rig is quoted 12 to 15 weeks, that's at least 84 days!

If you look at the wait times located here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77796.0 you will see the singles are down to less than 60 days.

Mini-Rig, man!

This is the Mini-Rig thread, not singles!

And Mini-Rigs are quoted with 12-15 weeks lead time!

If you ordered singles, you are posting in the wrong thread.
Please keep those two product lines separate. No Singles spam here, please!
