141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has big wins and jackpot stories affected your gambling habit? on: May 20, 2024, 05:14:02 PM
At one point, seeing someone get a big win encouraged me to play aggressively. That said, I wouldn't do it again because if your luck isn't great, it can quickly ruin the fun and your session. Instead of going after that big win, i'd better play like usual, stick to the rules i've set, and be satisfied with the wins i'll get along the way. Winning usually makes gambling fun, but there's no need to go overboard and do the same when it can easily go the other way.

Why do you think it is like that? I would expect MOUZ to be favoured to win the series. MOUZ are way ahead of Spirit in HLTV rankings as well.

By the way I wish BetBoom won at least one match. The tournament is sponsored by BetBoom but its team couldn't do anything.  Sad
I didn't expect the pre-live odds to be set that wide by the odds providers. I guess most of the bettors had high expectations from Team Spirit and Donk since I noticed the odds opened around 50-50 before it started moving to the side of Team Spirit.

BetBoom was unlucky to be placed in the toughest group that had Falcons, Virtus.Pro and MOUZ while the other group had MIBR and Aurora.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 20, 2024, 04:28:23 AM
I've done that a few times because i'd sometimes have a terrible record in certain sports, and during those times it only made me lose more bets. I'd rather endure these losses than fade my bets again as I could miss the timing for my luck to turn the other way around.

However, I do use that strategy against the bettors that I follow and are consistent at choosing the losing teams based on their profit or record.

Antimage is always been a good counter to Void and also Void is a good one against Antimage but if it's with the late game, Antimage has got the advantage since it won't just be a 1 v 1 game as it's still a team play. I think the mistake that XG did there is when they've bought back and still continue to clash when they've seen they're being teared 1 by 1. That's the mistake that they did but still a good match after all, when Team Spirit needs some money, they'll just go with the bigger prize pots tournament like this one and too bad that they are not a participant for this upcoming DL. However, XG is there.
TBH, the Faceless Void pick was good for XG, but XG lost the laning phase so hard that it made the game easier for Team Spirit, and they got to hit their item timings much faster. That buyback from XG during the rosh pit fight almost paid off after catching AM off guard near the ancient camp and forced a few buybacks from Team Spirit. Unfortunately, their SD was quick with the disruption save and it all fell apart from there.

I don't think that they'll ever disband at this moment, they've got the connection and they've won 2 TIs already but one with TorontoTokyo and with Larl. But the 4 remains intact and I think that the bond that they have made with their connection is hard to disband. So, before this year ends, we'll still have the next TI so I think that who knows if they make another history of winning 3 times in TI? Possible.
I also have the same thoughts, i'd be surprised if they suddenly decide to disband the team, and I can't imagine who can fill those roles better than their current players.
145  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrobetting.eu - Unmatched BTC Betting and Entertainment 🎰📈🏀⚾🏈⚽ on: May 20, 2024, 12:43:56 AM
I found your site through the A rating here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=717790.0
The ratings over there should always be taken with a grain of salt and the only A-rated part about these books is their overall odds which are less juiced than most bookies.

IIRC, there is not withdrawal fee and they only accept bitcoin. When they rebranded, I don't like the UI anymore as it doesn't load quick in my end, and I'm quite surprising with the high fees they are charging for a network fee while now fees are already cheap.
On their other site, they used to have a fee of 0.1 mbtc then after some time they started introducing free withdrawal requests for their regular users, so maybe they've done the same with nitrobetting.

I'll be on the Nuggets' side for this game seven, last game they shot like 30% and I don't think it'll happen twice in a row. Don't get me wrong the Timberwolves are still a solid team, they're probably the value play here but I can't bring myself to fade the Nuggets at this point of the series.

Also congrats to you guys who took the Pacers, the Knicks had signs of life in the third quarter, but it was only a matter of time until the Pacers stabilized their lead.

Edit: I almost thought the Nuggets had that after going up by double digits in the first half, but their lead didn't last that long as the Timberwolves offense came online in the second half.  Lips sealed
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: May 19, 2024, 03:04:11 AM
I guess we got our winner already huh for the entire tournament and probably for the next DreamLeague. I was actually expecting Falcons to win lol
Yup, XG is too good and Team Falcons aren't the same without Malr1ne.

Later, we got two grand finals (PGL Wallachia and MSI), and I hope we get a three-game series between Team Spirit and Team Falcons so I can fully tune in to both finals.  Grin

Both strong team but I think this is going to be Team Falcons that shall go to the grand finals against Xtreme Gaming but I hope that I am right, it's been so long since we've seen Team Spirit goes back to the grand finals after winning TI.
Before they took out G2.IG earlier, I also thought Team Falcons initially had the edge, but after that win, it could go either way.

149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 18, 2024, 10:09:36 PM
Yesterday, the Pacers and Knicks missed countless shots in the first three to four minutes of each quarter, I thought it would go under but eventually, they picked up the pace and started landing their shots within 10-15 seconds of each possession to cash my over 215 bet.  Cheesy

On to the next match, i'll be on the Mavs spread (-3.5) since they have the advantage to end the series today, and the winning team usually wins by four or more points.

Edit: The Mavs failed to cover the spread, but what an intense finish. Shocked
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 17, 2024, 09:02:59 PM
I had a hunch that regression was coming for the Nuggets after shooting the ball for almost 60% in that other game, but I still fell for it.  Tongue

I'm changing my bet with the totals since the Knicks could end it on the road again and they had a good chance to snag a road win during that game three. Also, the Knicks spread is tempting since six points is a lot, then again I wouldn't be surprised to see it go the other way and the Knicks lose by double digits.

Two Chinese teams facing each other now, Xtreme Gaming and G2.IG. I don't understand if there's something to do with the points and standing on the group stages for the placing of teams on the playoffs.
Unfortunately, no points are given out for this tournament, but the prize pool is still big enough for teams to take it seriously. XG right now is on another level IMO, they've been rolling with off-meta heroes and it's working while the others are strictly picking the most contested heroes.

Now all is left is to see Falcons losing as I'm really tired to watch them winning without having a great performance during the game because all they do is to play together on the map and always have good vision + other teams they need to stop giving them favorite heroes and start to push them outside of the comfort zone because without beefy heroes , Falcons will lose for sure.
We might have to wait until the upper bracket final before that happens since XG is looking like the strongest team so far in this tournament.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 16, 2024, 10:52:47 PM
Later, we only have one game.
Here is my pick.
Minnesota Timberwolves - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets ML @2.09 - They broke the confidence of the Wolves, it will not be easy to recover from that. I think it will be different today, adjustments. They will try to stop Jokic but will make a big mistake in the process, Jamal Murray will come out to score for the team.
I'm on the same pick too, the odds for the Nuggets match-winner are too nice, they've already pulled off two road wins so there's no point in doubting them.

The Timberwolves can still make this close since elimination games can sometimes bring out the best in certain teams and it's always possible for the Nuggets to have a bad game like the ones during games 1 and 2.

153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 16, 2024, 03:58:24 PM
However the map results were horrible for Vitality. I don't know how they managed to play this poorly after all that effort until reaching this stage...

By this huge victory, MOUZ have captured a place for the IEM Cologne tournament on this August. Even if Vitality don't manage to win the IEM Dallas they would easily join the IEM Cologne thanks to their ESL ranking so no need to worry for them. But still they should have been more competitive in the final series here.  Sad
Vitality had an off day while MOUZ is just clicking more than usual, always dominating the first half to not allow Vitality to recover in the second half.

Currently, they're playing in BetBoom Dacha Belgrade and might win another tournament since their form isn't slowing down as they already qualified for the playoffs and Team Spirit is the only strong team in the other group.

154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: May 16, 2024, 04:35:42 AM
Im not sure what the heck happened there but they lost after winning the 1st map, kinda weird.
They might've lost that series to a bug as Arteezy mentioned that his BKB didn't trigger properly in game three.

https://twitter.com/Arteezy/status/1790716429638959553

Anyway Im assuming that some team played not as good as they usually are because they are saving strats for DreamLeague season 23 though. There are alot at stake on this DreamLeague especially the EPT points. Alot of the leftover teams would be willing to get their hands on the EPT points to be invited on the next Riyadh Master
You have a point there since it's the last tournament of the EPT Season 2, and we also have the regional qualifiers for the Riyadh Masters after DreamLeague.

We have the playoffs later, and I guess all favorites should win this time after that underdog day yesterday.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 16, 2024, 02:37:55 AM
So, from your own understanding, what do you think makes people chase loses aside greed which I believe many of us are already familier with?.
I'd say the feelings we get while gambling, and we're not always aware of our winning/losing chances. Others can't always suppress their feelings while playing and it's easy for gamblers to get caught up and make some of the worst decisions like rage betting during a losing day. While playing, we forget that it's easy to lose everything and start to realize what went wrong after we've lost it all. Most of us also lack the consistency to control ourselves and it's why it starts to become a cycle.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 16, 2024, 01:20:03 AM
I'll back the home favorites today to cover the spread (OKC -4.5), after that collapse from the Mavs in the last game, i'm losing faith in their players to step up and fill in the gaps.

If Luka doesn't show up again, OKC could take over to lead this series and SGA will probably deliver another big performance.

Edit: What a letdown from OKC, most of the players missing their shots while the Mavs are stepping up big time.
157  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the Worst online Casino you've played on so far? on: May 16, 2024, 12:31:44 AM
The worst gambling site i've played back then was girlbtc, they're an on-chain casino so there's only one game and eventually, they started scamming their players.

I remember losing my money to their site because I was so greedy with their promotions and that kept me coming back for more until I got ripped off by the sudden change in their promo rules.

There's still another site I want to mention, but I can't recall the name, after playing on their site for the first time, I got lucky enough to make some profit, and their withdrawal process took more than a day. All I can remember was that they gave out tokens or a portion of their monthly profit to their investors.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 03:51:28 PM
We've also had a similar case in the collectible section where one of the many known physical wallets got swept by a single user and then gambled all the coins away.

It rarely happens, but it's scary that the possibility for someone to gamble your funds away is always there, and the worst part with these cases is that most of them get away with it.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 15, 2024, 04:06:58 AM
Heck yeah, grats on winning this and thats a very reasonable reasoning you have there. I would have jumped in on SR to win though, Im glad I skipped this one after I read your post lol. I might be abit biased whenever there are Nigma's player in it, totally would love them to win because Im a sucker for them especially Miracle and GH lol

3 spots left for 3 teams tomorrow. Im totally digging SR, Team Liquid and BetBoom on my parlay tomorrow
Thanks, Cheesy I was also initially leaning on SR because having Sumail is always a plus for their team, but there's still GH and they've always struggled without his Tusk.

I'm only rolling with Team Liquid to sweep Team Secret, they're better overall with the team fights and the individual players. Team Secret can still get a map but Team Liquid's wins so far have been only 2-0s.

BOL on your three-legged parlay, SR could disappoint out of the three teams you picked, but I still think they'll push through.

Edit: Just when I cashed out my bet they started winning the first map and Team Secret crumbled from that one mistake. 🤦‍♂️
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling losses are traps to new game on: May 15, 2024, 02:56:45 AM
Did you guys trust on gambling algorithms or do the random betting in the gambling site to check the current luck in the gambling sites…
I don't believe in the algorithms because the probability is always on their side to do most of the work and gamblers always make the worst decisions while playing. I used to play in every other casino I could find back then in hopes of getting better luck, but i'd say it's more or less the same when our luck can easily flip like a switch.

Losses aren't necessarily a trap. Well, gambling is already a trap itself, but what I'm saying is that losing doesn't necessarily push a gambler to bet more. It's all a matter of discipline and control on the part of the gambler. Other gamblers stop even if they're losing. They don't even try to get back at the casino or recover their losses.
That's true, it's more about how we react to these losses since we're not forced to play after every loss. Some still fall for it because they get carried away by their emotions and struggle to take the hit in these losing situations.
