So I am guessing you have had an encounter with a regulator regarding the multiple cash deposits....
This brings up the issue of loss of anonymity.
The Indian Government is pretty tight when it comes to money. They want to know about every single paisa you make or spend. They want to know whose ass it came out of and whose ass its going to next. And they want to see pictures too. Hi-Resolution. Maybe even a Slow-Mo Video..................
On the flip side, obtaining bitcoins is going to be even more convenient. Login to netbanking, transfer funds, and you don't even have to move your butt out of the chair... Very Nice.

I was not satisfied with the refund option.
Gory details please! I made the purchase using a friend's paypal account, and paid him back in cash. I requested for refund in BTC but they declined saying they would only refund the paypal account from which the payment was made. I have no use for money I can't use. Might as well wait and see how it plays out. Besides, selling a pre-order is going to be a complex issue. BFL will not change the shipping address. Too much stress for me. I have been patiently waiting since the first week of September. I can wait some more. Not in a hurry.

Hi All,
I have been busy. Sorry, but I decided to NOT sell my pre-order of the BFL miner.
I was not satisfied with the refund option.

it was paid 1500 btcs, if i've sold those btcs last week it should be like a jackpot $_$ 2 years selling "stuff" on blackmarket to make those btcs spent in 1 minute for a machine that probably will not generate a good profit so yes, it was a big mistake
thats interesting.. what kind of "stuff" do you sell at which "black market" ?

direct cash deposit to bank account OR NEFT transfer will be the best way to deposit money.
Credit/debit cards can be used in a way similar to how Virwox uses it -> use the card to credit your account with USD/INR/whatever, and then use that money to place a bid on the btc. this is more expensive and i do not know how they get protected against chargebacks.

So probably this verification is for transferring your SLL money to the game maybe.. So unless we need that I THINK we can get away with it.
Yes, you are right. Verification is ONLY needed if you wish to use the SLL within the game.
|
|
|
Is this a new inclusion, no SL avatar verification needed?
nope, doesnt seem to be new. I've had an account for over 3 months, never been asked to validate a SL avatar. All you do is just enter some random name for your SL user.

I bought some, one night before the crash, at 223. I had earlier bought at 40. together, the cost price was around 90, and i managed to sell at 183. so in good profit % overall, but considering the quantities (of btc), not really that much. I do a bit of trading on btc-e with ltc/btc. Lost some, gained some, hedged some, etc. I trade on btc-e mostly for fun, as those are the funds i can afford to lose. currently holding about 0.45 btc and about 10 ltc in btc-e. Rest stashed in my "savings" address, for long term. thats about 0.5 btc for now .

Jalapeno USD 145 at the time of order.

Wow!! my order no is 7076 or something like that, placed in september 2012.
I am wiling to sell it for 9000 bucks. But I take no responsibility whatsoever if this shit turns out to be a scam. Let that be very clear.
At this point, I am no longer interested in mining. I am more interested in litecoin/BTC/USD trading on BTC-e, as I have noticed some patterns there vs mtgox.

A Much more concise, pictorial guide is available here: http://howdoyoubuybitcoins.com/with/credit-card/you DO NOT NEED a SL account. withdrawals will be processed immediately UNLESS: 1. your account is new ( < 30 days ) 2. your account is not new, but you have tried to make more than a certain number of withdrawals. After your account crosses the 60 day age, small withdrawals are immediate. Larger ones need a manual step. Have not done too many transactions, so not sure of the actual numbers. I had done some calculations earlier, and the fees for conversion are in the range of about 8 - 12 %, including withdrawal fees, commission, currency conversion fees, tax, service tax and whatever else credit card companies charge. That could have gotten covered overnight a few days ago

I have bfl pre order for a jalapeno, which cost me about 10k with shipping. Unfortunately, his might turn out to be a scam.. my order is processing since september.

That, my fellow enthusiasts is the weakness of today's Bitcoin markets.
Pump & Dump will never go away in the Bitcoin world. It is the easiest way for few people to get rich.
i read somewhere that it was a panic sell off due to DDoS attack on mtgox... if you search bitcoin news in google, the first few articles say this.. dunno how reliable. If its true, this is just temporary.

and it has crashed..... Nice.... time to buy more......

once again a flawless transaction. Placed the order, stepped out, deposited cash, and half an hour later, the transaction is already on the blockchain (unconfirmed of course ). This time I didn't even bother trying to scan the deposit slip.
10/10 for ease of use.
Also, one tiny thing that i noticed: in the amount of time it took me to go deposit the cash and get back ( at most half an hour ) bitcoin price went up by about Rs 1000.
To put things in Perspective, my very first purchase of bitcoins was from a member on the forums here, for Rs 605/btc. That was september of last year.
