Left computer mining all day today, and it got 128 coins! Then I ran the Windows wallet and it seems to have picked up an entirely different block chain in which other people have mined those coins rather than me I don't think I will be pursuing this coin any further. --Tom Did it get 51% attacked?

I see a flaw in your logic: Gyft is likely to sell the BTC they receive, effectively replacing their customers in the market.
Edit: don't get me wrong though, this is great news.
Selling to buyers. It all just goes back into the system.

Buy low, sell high. Genius. Why has no one thought of this before?

Not enough mining power for thousands. They'd be 51%'d in a day.

Was given 40,000xrp in the giveaway and hadn't checked my account in a week or so. Now there's nothing in my account and nothing in the history. WTF happened?
EDIT
Didn't notice the box on the login page had Payward in it. Changed it to browser and they are there now. Hooray! I about shit my pants 10 minutes ago.

There are two killer apps that will make extra-planetary colonization economically viable: mining in a place that has no environment to harm, and low-gravity retirement communities for the elderly.
Well, asteroid mining is clearly perfect for the first one, but for the second we need low-g ways of getting people into space, first, all current ways are too punishing. Space elevator.

That foundation sounds like it will become someone's retirement account.

Liberal going on a liberal talk show to talk about Bitcoin?
Will there be anyone there to defend Bitcoin?
If you look at Planet Money's previous coverage it has been pretty balanced. The guy sounds like he supports the idea but knows it's still risky.

I'm using GUIminer scrypt to mine with CGminer and I just got a 7950. On 5000 series cards GPU usage was always steady while mining but my 7950 jumps up and down all the time. Any idea what could be causing this? The big drop is me stopping mining for a few seconds. It jumps from around 64% up to 99% and back. I figured it out. For some reason even though Afterburner was reporting the normal clock speeds it was actually clocking it down to what my old 5870 was at. Fixed the clocks and now it's 99% steady.

Since we don't handle the transactions you can use a Bitcoin or Litecoin address and PayPal works already I believe but they are the enemy so I don't highlight it.
