141  Economy / Lending / 3 Week Term Loan, details inside on: April 04, 2013, 06:36:06 PM
Hey all,

I took out a loan on BTCJam a few weeks back so I could trade a bit on Mt. Gox.  I left the country on business 2 weeks ago and everything is hyper-inflated.  For that reason i'm underwater on the loan.  I've liquidated all my assets and i'm down 3.7 coins.  At present that amounts to roughly $500.  That's about 1/3 a paycheck, which doesn't come until next Friday (4/12).  In order to keep my investors happy, I need to pay back the loan which is already overdue immediately.

My username on BTCJam is Lakzo as well, and i'm 100% verified and have a 100% positive reputation (which i'd like to keep!).  I was thinking of a fixed loan of 3.7 coins with a repayment of 4.1 by next Friday (4/12) at the absolute latest.  I can't create a new listing on BTCJam because i'm overdue, so this will give me some reputation on Bitcointalk as well.  If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks!
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Rescanning with Mac/Terminal on: February 08, 2013, 03:23:34 PM
Does anyone know the syntax for the command to rescan the block chain using OSX?  I know its something along the lines of:

open -a bitcoin-qt -rescan

but everytime I try to execute it like above I get this long menu of options.

I'm not a Mac user, but it appears you would, from the command window, go to the data directory:

Code:
$ cd ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/
$ ./bitcoin-qt -rescan

Everytime I enter it into terminal it gives me the "no such file directory" message :/

144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0/unconfirmed transaction need deleted on: February 08, 2013, 01:31:22 AM
lazko,

Deleting a specific transaction won't work. You have to delete all of them and then have the bitcoin client re-scan. I deleted just the one and it did not fix the balance issue. I can now confirm that clearing all Txs and having the bitcoin client re-scan does, in fact, restore the proper balance to your wallet.

I can't help you with pywallet for Macs though.

Rescan isn't redownloading though, correct?
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 0/unconfirmed transaction need deleted on: February 07, 2013, 09:29:40 PM
Can anyone walk me through on downloading/running/using pywallet for Mac?  I need an unconfirmed transaction deleted and i've looked at about every single topic regarding pywallet, and yet i'm still really confused.  I sent a 13-something transaction to BTCjam the other day and about 11 of those coins were 'real'--the other were the result of a double-spend.  They haven't been confirmed by the blockchain  yet.  Here's the tx id:

Thanks for the help
146  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1.4 coin loan - Will repay at 1.6 in two days! on: February 07, 2013, 04:51:55 PM
UPDATE:  Just finished downloading the block where the transaction got stuck.  Skipped right over it; however, I sent .18 coins after the transaction error and the blockchain verified it which gives me some hope.  Have about another hour for the download to stop, so i'll be back on then.
147  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1.4 coin loan - Will repay at 1.6 in two days! on: February 07, 2013, 04:18:01 PM
What happened after you re-downloaded the chain?

I'm still 500+/- off from current.  Hopefully the transaction will be rejected.  I'll keep you posted.

Paid .001 for transaction fee.  I'm honestly freaking dumbfounded and irritated as hell.  I've downloaded close to 100 python programs and I have no idea what the hell i'm doing.  The block chain is still 8000 away, I have a loan due today, etc etc.  One of those days for sure!

Strangely, both BC.info or Blockexplorer haven't seen the transaction:

http://blockchain.info/search?search=ef6cdd1d0a38be78ccb63cad37dd0e108048e9cc2bb929b71bb61da245415f21
http://blockexplorer.com/tx/ef6cdd1d0a38be78ccb63cad37dd0e108048e9cc2bb929b71bb61da245415f21

The transaction didn't propagate the network, its possible you closed your client before the tx was broadcasted, but that doesn't explain why BTCJam sees it.

I don't think that the tx is ever going to confirm, do a blockchain re-download, the transaction will be gone from your client as it hasn't been included in any blocks, and you will be able to send the coins again.

Redownloading now. Thanks for the advice!

What is the tx id for the deposit? Its possible an incorrect tx fee was paid or something.

You'd still have to wait for the blockchain to download to see a 1.4 BTC loan.

I was thinking it could be sent to my BTCJam online wallet so as to bypass the (still-loading) bitcoin-qt wallet.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible Wallet Attack on: February 06, 2013, 01:18:10 PM
Hey Lakzo,

I had an issue where 2.99BTC, fully verified, went unconfirmed in my wallet. I've already tried the re-downloading the blockchain trick and it doesn't work. I also deleted JUST the 1 0/unconfirmed Tx with no luck (including a re-download of the blockchain). I finally just backed up my wallet, then used Pywallet to delete ALL Txs from it. I'm having to re-download the blockchain again (as I corrupted the DB somehow after reinstalling btc-qt client).

I believe the only way the coins will show for you (as for me too), is to do exactly that. Pywallet is confusing to get working at first for sure, but once you do, it goes very quickly. Just don't make the mistake I did and delete your blockchain again.

So...do this:

1.) Get Pywallet installed and working properly.
2.) Finish downloading the blockchain.
3.) Close your Bitcoin client.
4.) Make a backup of your wallet.dat somewhere incase you fubar the one in the AppData directory (assuming you're on Windows)
5.) Run the Pywallet web server
6.) Do what this link says https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=35214.0
Yes, you DO want to delete ALL keys from that wallet.dat (if something goes wrong, you can just restore the backup and all will be as before).
7.) Go to the command prompt and navigate to the bitcoin client folder (default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\)
8.) Type in this and hit enter: bitcoin-qt.exe -rescan

It'll take a little bit, but whenever the client finally loads, all your BTC should be back in order. That's what I'm hoping for with my wallet. Still waiting on the last 13K blocks to download.

I've been reading the thread you were having the issue on.  I tried downloading Pywallet but unfortunately i'm on a Mac.  Pywallet is a headache and a half because of this, and i'm in the 'home stretch' of the blockchain with 10000 left.

I'll give Pywallet another shot.  I'm just having issues with running it, because i'm not super technically-inclined.
152  Economy / Lending / Need 1.4 coin loan - Will repay at 1.6 in two days! on: February 06, 2013, 01:05:56 PM
Hey all,

I'm kind of screwed at the moment; I transferred 13.58 coins into BTCJam and the transactions showing 0/unconfirmed.  I'm redownloading the entire blockchain and I only have 10000 blocks left (but they're the slowest to download of course).  With that said, I need to make a payment to my investors TODAY to keep everyone happy.  I have perfect feedback on my BTCJam profile, never missed a payment and I don't want to start.

I just need a quick 1.4 coin loan to make the payment until the blockchain initializes in the wallet and resets everything.  Here's proof of the coins that are sitting as of right now.  Thanks for the help!

watching.
any updates?

Still downloading the blockchain.  I was going to try and use Pywallet but holy hell that was confusing.  Still have about 10% left of chain to download so hopefully it'll be ready by tomorrow morning.  I think that's the only option at this point.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible Wallet Attack on: February 05, 2013, 02:55:10 AM
UPDATE:  I did some browsing through the tech help boards and am currently clearing the internals and restarting, which means redownloading the block chain :/  Gonna be one of those nights, I can just feel it.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible Wallet Attack on: February 05, 2013, 01:02:10 AM
Hard to say what happened without additional information.  Would you be willing to share the transactionID of the transaction you used to place the bet? Or the transactionID of the transaction that you used to transfer the balance to the online wallet? Or the bitcoin address at the online wallet where you transferred the balance?

Here's the ID from my wallet to BTCJam:

ef6cdd1d0a38be78ccb63cad37dd0e108048e9cc2bb929b71bb61da245415f21

Trying to initialize Pywallet to delete the 0/unconfirmed 13.3 transfer.  If i delete the transfer will it show back up in my wallet (the original 10-something coins)?  Thanks for all your help!
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Possible Wallet Attack on: February 04, 2013, 10:55:18 PM
I was playing around with SatoshiDice as I tend to do from time to time and I sent a bet of .09 coins.  My balance was roughly 10.4 coins and then spiked to 13.38 after I won the bet, though the return should have been .18 coins (grand total in the wallet w/ the win should have been 10.58 coins).  Thinking this was some kind of attack on the wallet I transferred the entire balance immediately to an online wallet.  It showed up in the online wallet but as unconfirmed, and the transaction details list it as having not been broadcast through any nodes yet.

Can anyone advise on possible course of action?  10 (or 13) coins is a lot of money!

Thanks!

I already got the loan.  Apologies for not updating.
158  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Best/fastest way to get USD into MtGox? on: January 31, 2013, 06:36:41 PM
I use BitInstant periodically if theres a knot in the Bank-Dwolla-Gox pipeline, and its extremely fast and pretty cheap.  The service fee is typically $4 over, but i've never had a problem.  If you can get to a Walmart or CVS you can have money in your Mt. Gox account in about 30 minutes.

160  Economy / Currency exchange / Dwolla for 2.5 Bitcoins on: January 31, 2013, 05:09:58 AM
I finally got Dwolla to work and have $50 as of today in the account. HOWEVER, freakin' Mt. Gox needs to verify my account before they can accept the funds.  SEE: PROOF

If anyone has Dwolla and wants to sell 2.4 coins for $50, PM me!! I have some debts to take care of and the sooner the better :/

Here's my BTCjam account for further verification.  Not trying to screw anyone! I have a 10/10 rep on BTCjam and i'd like to keep it that way!
