141  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / GPU mining is dead now. on: June 30, 2013, 09:30:04 PM
5 minutes ago I went down to the mine and powered off each of my 6 GPU miner rigs.
I ran the numbers, with power at .087 per k watt hour,
 12000M hash speed,
current low BTC rate 94.06
Diff: 21,335,329

I would make 157 USD per month.
But BTC may or may not drop, then after BTC exchange rate fees, pool fees, transfer fees,,
GPU mining is not worth it anymore.  Not for 157 and change for the heat and stress on the equipment.

LITEcoin does not appear to be worth mining.

Has anyone ever tried renting an apartment with "free utilities", moved in a bunch of miners, and used up free power for a while?

I guess it is time to sell of my GPUs.
Yes they did pay for themselves.  I got about 52BTC mining with them.
Paid about 5k for the gear, and paid only 700 in power so far, (Will pay another 900 tops as bills catch up)
Then after I sell off the used gear I made some profit.

Pretty sure that the standard answer is that you can't get more than 4 cards on Win7, but 8 can do 5-6 rather easily.

Five is the max number of cards for Windows 7 apparently.  I'm running (5) 7950s on my Z77A-GD55, no presence shorts or anything.

SIX is the max number for windows 7.
I use windows 7 and I have 6 GPUs running on my GPU rigs.

This is why Bitcoin is great!  No charge back bullshit!    Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Have you thought about making a mold and getting it cast ? I think that could be quite a cheap method.

He did, and they quoted him an INSANE price for casting the gear.

Can't chargeback paypal doesn't allow disputes for virtual goods.

Now that is funny.  Where have you been?  What planet are you from?
It's true, paypal officially doesn't get involved/accept disputes over virtual items. If you paid for something like an online game account or bitcoins and get ripped off, they won't accept your chargeback. Only way would be to claim it was unauthorised.

INCORRECT!
Call paypal.
Ask them.
They will tell you that if you sell digitally delivered (aka "Virtual goods") there is zero seller protection and any buyer can (and will) do a charge back.  Paypal will NOT help you in any way if the dollar amount is less than ___.
If a customer uses a credit card to pay you via paypal, and does a charge back for digital, virtual, or REAL goods, even if you delivered virtual goods AND have a written receipt from the buyer saying they received it.  The buyer can do a charge back from the bank and you are fucked.  Paypal will tell you they cant do anything.  They could contact the bank and say "this was fraud, do not let the buyer complete the charge back" but they will not.

Fuck paypal!

I personally was ripped off selling Linden dollars, and another time some jerk pulled a charge back AND kept this $25 item I sold on ebay.  Paypal did nothing even though I had proof (tracking and a snail mail letter) showing it was delivered.
146  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How did 1 bitcoin sell for $10,000? on: June 30, 2013, 06:37:02 AM
For that to be a chargeback the winner would need to pay $10,000C.  They will not.  Paperwork, taxes, fees, all for a changeback scam?  No.
This is someone just being a jerk and bidding high to screw over the seller, because they will never pay.  Therefore blocking that auction.
Perhaps a competing BTC ebay seller wanting to hinder the competition using a disposable ebay account to block.

No other theory works when you run the numbers.

here are some picks of the gear I took on my phone so they are not 100% http://s1315.photobucket.com/user/zackclark70/library/

I will measure it when I go around my friends later today

Sounds good.

you motherfucker, these were BTC 1 yesterday, now they are BTC 1.4
I answered you yesterday and PMed you.  You did not reply.
I told someone else in PM "My offer is 1btc today but not tomorrow.  I have no need to sell cheap after the eruptor sale ends.  I expect them to sell out."

I am selling these to buy something else that was on sale.
The sale is over and sold out.  I no longer have any need to sell so cheeply.
I understand your anger because these kick ass.

Perhaps you should have told me you wanted to buy some rather than ignore me.
You gave no reply, so I moved on with my life.
Cussing will not help you negotiate.
Perhaps if you put your money on the table and order a few at a time I can give you a little bit of a deal.
Or you can go find some on ebay for more than I was asking.

Also the value of BTC is down today, so the BTC price is up today.
This is the law of economics.  Go yell at BTC prices for me.

Then come back and try negotiating more politely.

Thanks

$190 on ebay was low.
I would have gone 1BTC just to get an ASIC USB miner, but not lower.
ASIC USB miners are sold out now, so I have no reason to go that low anymore.
Sorry.
2BTC sale price now.  Firm.
Auction over.
153  Economy / Services / Re: Hire a troll... Id troll anybody on: June 29, 2013, 04:44:08 AM
I did not intend this, but I have posted on this thread more than the troll-for-higher!
Good thing that just posting doesn't count.

Is that "theymos" under a new name asking why he was being banned?

If it does not sell I will renew it because it is a great name for anything.  Very short.
158  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] Auction for 2.35 GH/s at 17.5 W, 7x usb block eruptors on: June 28, 2013, 09:15:48 PM
I knocked your BIN by placing the first bid.  Those only stay when there's a reserve.

5.6BTC

What "BIN"?  I see no buy-it-now.  He says he has one, but he does not.
Am I blind?  Or am I being ignored by the OP who hasn't figured out how to set a BIN?

When will Domain expire ?

And here comes the downward financial pressure due to the low barrier of entry.

I suggest someone set up a school/academy/institute of trolling so that qualifications can be earnt.

Perhaps some sort of professional body that can oversee the quality of trolling?

There will be an annual mandatory joining fee.

If that doesn't raise the standard and cost of professional trolling, nothing will.

It's a dying industry - the glory days are behind us.

It is not a dying industry.  There will always be people that go fanatical online, endlessly bitching about some wild cause that they take personally as if they were a lone crusader.  Crazy people do it to "be right" or to have a high number of posts on a forum, or because they think they will always be anonymous online and can talk all the shit they want.  Trolling will never die.

Corporations will always need spam and trolling to create FAKE popularity in a product.  Myspace is full of wana-be music now, and they go around "friending" everyone to spam them.  Facebook and Myspace and Twitter "friends" and "followers" are nothing more than a score board now.  Nobody honestly KNOWS who all those people are even on their own profile.  It is just another means of personal trolling by collecting "friends" as if they are just numbers.  Faceless people they will never actually talk to or get to know.

As for a quality control for trolls, the paying market will only pay when they can see a resume or example of work.
I have suggested they prank call someone and upload it to youtube for us to see how well they do.
No "trolls" have the balls to step up and prove anything as of yet.  Cheesy
