I would love to see a solid stupidly long hot streak here.
can we do it yes we can.
Im behind you on that one, how the luck here just asjusts itself in everyones favour is beyone me. No other pool seems to have the luck that we do here. Kano must just flow with luck thats all I can think, or he knows something no one else does lol. My new S9 is just starting to filter through the PPLNS 5 thingy so my earnings are pushing right up. Block party lets go!

I just read on the BM site that Batch 9 is sold out. No S9s 'til the next batch. Interested to see the pricing then...
Yep. Fingers crossed that they come down now. Price been way way to high for way way to long. If I hadnt drunk a litre of voddy last weekend, that S9 would still be in China lol. Just one more then Ill settle for a while ................... Ive got a feeling they are just going to trickle feed them out slowly this time. At the end of the day, if you have one of the fastest and most efficient miners around you can charge what the hell you like. Its all about making money to them and not supporting the network. Ive got a figure I like to earn per block. Im nearly there but dont want to get greedy. Its still fun and a hobby but easily gets out of control. Need to ground myself now and again.

So far so good with the S9. Behaving in the server room at the office. Cant leave the old S7's out, they are still hashing along as well.

I have been Googling around looking at setting minimum mining difficutly on the pool. I found a quick calculation of gh/s / 1.4. For my S7's this gives me about 3400 For my S9 this gives me about 9100
snip
Does it take this setting as gospal and just feed the miner work at this difficulty level or will it increase the difficulty to compensate for shares per minute?
That just sets the base difficulty. The pool will set it higher if need be. Your base difficulty won't have any effect on your earnings, just higher variance maybe in the short run. Thanks. Ill keep things are the gh/s divided by 1.5 so that should be a pretty good starting place. I figured the pook would just increase the value if needed from reading up on pool difficulty. Error rate is definately lower on the last miner work restart when the last block was solved than using a factor of 1.4. Thanks for the reply, appreciated.

This machine is going to be an AWESOME PRODUCER!!! In a couple of hours would you post your temperatures please? Mine arrived today and its been running in a cooled server room to 17 Deg. Im pushing 60 Deg PCB and 92 Chip temp. You know how it is when you get new hardware, like to keep an eye on it closely. Just getting to grips about temps on these new beasts.

When I set these the pool GUI shows difficulty as the above values. Does it take this setting as gospal and just feed the miner work at this difficulty level or will it increase the difficulty to compensate for shares per minute? My minor always shows difficulty at the levels above.
I started to get a slight increase in invalid shares with the settings above so tried a factor of gh/s / 1.5 and the error rate seems to be dropping.
Am I best to keep tweaking this start difficulty or should I just set back to default and let the pool work it out for me. I seem to get most errors when a block is solved (pool or other) so suspect the miners are continuing to work locally before realising the work has changed. I might have misunderstood completely how difficulty works ..........

Well an S9 arrived today, mining nicely with the S7's on Kano. I vowed to wait then got drunk last weekend ........ Oh well. Im determined to find a block and get my name on that hall of fame here. Now sit and wait, stay awake (for up to 400 days) and wait for it to happen. Here blocky blocky ........

Saw that the s9s sold out again. Is there a place to buy them?
I wish people would stop buying them at that price so they will finally lower the price. EDIT: You can find way over-priced S9's on Amazon and Ebay. $50 cheaper on openbaazar. Hope they do drop in price, really want one or two or three or four ..... Just can't justify the price at the moment.

Now for the expanding world of kano.is nodes ...
I've added another new node nl.kano.is in amsterdam, that anyone can mine to
This is somewhat of an attempt at a replacement for the DK node, but both will run in parallel for a short while. If I do (probably) end up shutting down the DK node, I'll simply point DK to NL
DK has been a little unreliable, and one of the initial things that the provider said about upgrading their out of date KVM software, they still haven't done, so the NL node is a better performer than the DK node.
If anyone tries it out and compares the DK and NL nodes from wherever they, let me know how it fares for you.
Hi Kano, hope you are well. I'm mining to the DK node so I'll change them to NL now. I'll let you know if there are any issues.

Just got back from a trip to the main town here...always fun to look at the board when I sit down at the workstation. I don't think we're going to see $1K+ spot, or higher, anytime soon. I actually hope we don't, because that sort of spike has always resulted in an ensuing crash that usually takes it back below where it was initially (read as below $600). Steady climb, or even relative stability (which is what we're seeing now) is good. That said...I also don't see BiteMe maintaining those prices for long. Sure, and there's a bunch of us here that bought numbers of S9s at $2K, but now that the hard reality of the halving is taking hold on a number of those folks, the most likely scenario is that S9 sales at the current prices will tank. BM isn't dumb (although sometimes we are led to wonder) and will drop the price when they see the volume drop...which is probably right about now. S7s were over $1K when they came out. Now they're $440, and it's only been a few weeks since the S9 came on the scene. I'll wait a bit. Based on your good advice, I'll hodl my coins for a while and wait. Sure I'll find some medication to control the hash rate depression.

Hey folks good evening to you all.
So I'm suffering from serious hash rate depression and thinking of adding an S9. Can anyone suggest waiting a while or just scraping every last bit of hard coinage together and taking the plunge.
I'm still waiting on five S7's that Japan Post mixed up for me (I got a child's hand bag by accident). If I ever see these for my $1500 then I could probably eBay them for a return.
The language barrier is difficult "clearing they clearing" is about the most info I can get. I can just see some 4 year old mining instead of playing with her Amazon handbag.
Anyway, Earnings have dropped a little then with the halving, not as much as I would like. Obviously the S9 will be mining at Kano.
I too want another (or more) S9. I was just at the Bitmain page and prices haven't budged. Personally, I'm going to have to wait unless there is a big BTC price increase or they lower the price of the S9. It's very tempting as I'm also suffering hash rate withdrawal. My S7's are barely profitable at these coin prices and I'm only running them 12 hours a day to cut back on electric use. Yeah, I want at least one more S9, but not at over $2000 each. P.S. Yes, Kano is the only pool I mine. Not going to bother searching for a cheap imitation. I'm staying put at the best. I was hoping the price would come down, sure they know they have the super hardware and just getting fat off of the profits. If no one else makes anything similar, charge a lot of money for it. Plenty of over time at work guess just got to work a little harder. Don't know why I keep doing this as I'll be in the same position 6 months down the road yet again. At least it's a fun hobby, a little expensive mind. Kano is the only pool to mine if you want to realize the full potential of profitability! I will be getting some more S9s here shortly. I see the supply and demand of the market fluctuating to adjust over the next two weeks then rising to ~$1800 by the end of September then rising to ~$3000 by the end of the year. MINE ON! Yep, I'm going no where. This pool just pays so well and it's so lucky. Plus most of you people are great to hang out with!

So we get a period of "even better luck" now he has been again? The C word man?

Just a bad day at the office. Be fine tomorrow.

Looks like it's hardware problems all round. Thrown a PSU on flamer3 and corrupted firmware on the device. Re flashed the firmware and swapped out the PSU and running again. Did not want to play for a good hour.

Still here, still mining. Think I need to buy 3 or 4 S9's next week to step up the game.
