141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has crypto spring already became? on: February 09, 2018, 09:45:44 AM
While I am optimistic in the long term and in my opinion bitcoin will rise to $20k and above, I not sure if a new crypto spring is already here. The bounce from $6k is strong enough, but we may see another dip and bitcoin may linger at about $10k or even below for a long time. Of course, it is just a guess, bitcoin is unpredictable, but the winter may be not over yet.

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 90% of wallets don't sync. on: February 08, 2018, 07:03:09 AM
Buying new coins is certainly financially dangerous. There may be hidden gems, but most of them are going to pass into nothingness. I would download the wallet and check it before buying from an exchange. As for PoS coins, I have at least two that work. You may have to wait for a long time before getting a stake, from my experience the average times presented by wallets are usually heavily underestimated. For example, if its says 'average time 1 hour', it usually takes several hours.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]SONO MANDATORY UPDATE! on: February 07, 2018, 09:00:40 AM
yobit is still wrong chain?, cant get the less of coin to build a MN ,
nowadays maybe staking is better  Sad Sad Sad
I am still staking my coins with ALTCOM wallet. Is it safe? Or should I move the coins to new wallet.

No, it's not safe, ALTCOM wallet is on the old chain. As far as I understand, everything staked after block 192500 will disappear after transfer.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]SONO MANDATORY UPDATE! on: February 06, 2018, 08:31:47 AM
For some reason, with this coin, there are always some misunderstandings. As soon as the coin grows, I'll sell it. Constant new chains, I've never seen anything like this before

If it grows. I've been watching this coin for months, I participated in most airdrops and the latter signature campaign, and I still hold most of the coins I got. It was a promising one, but now it is completely broken. No exchange, the new wallet randomly stops staking. I regret that I did not sell everything before the fork.

P.S. SONO 1.2.0.1 completely stopped staking, no matter how long I wait or how many times I restart it. "Not staking".

I am not happy with the current status as well. But 1.2.0.1 version staking works fine for me, althought it got split into 4 chunks, I get stakes every day. But i had everything deleted (except wallet.dat) and resynced the chain, maybe it helped, don't know. Just to let you know it works for someone.

I did the same (complete resync) and initially it worked (3 chunks in a row), but now it invariably writes "Not staking" after syncing and unlocking the wallet. Maybe I have to update the list of nodes...
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW/PoS180%]SONO MANDATORY UPDATE! on: February 06, 2018, 08:27:39 AM
I have the amount left in the ALTCOM on yobit. Will they be transformed into a SONO or is it a loss?

I have the same question too. I sold a few coins there and placed orders to rebuy which, unfortunately, got executed after the split and now I have a bunch of now useless coins.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 06, 2018, 07:52:15 AM
If bitcoin is considered as a means of making money, it may be yes.

I think it is very unlikely. It is in the hands of big players now. For every seller there is a buyer, and they buy thousands of coins not because of technology. They will pump it again.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 06, 2018, 07:13:57 AM
we are witnessing either the biggest revolution of the century or the biggest bubble of the century.
Actually, it is both.

Or it may be neither. It's only 2018 and much stranger things may happen during this century.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 06, 2018, 06:41:15 AM
I think it is not over. Surely, it is a large drop, but it is neither the first nor the largest (by percentage). The 2013 crash was much deeper (compared to the current levels) and yet bitcoin recovered. It was even worse in 2011. Yes, there is a possibility that it is the final crash, but it seems to be very unlikely. There will be another pump. Maybe not this year, but I have little doubt that it will happen.

151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin loses its popularity ? on: February 05, 2018, 12:02:47 PM
God this sale is awesome. This summer we're gonna be rich.

I'm not sure. This sale may continue for a long time and go down to even lower levels. The recovery may take a year or more.
It depends on news, especially from Asia. In case of good scenario BTC may recover in 2-3 months.

There are no bad news now, but the dump continues. I'm not sure that good news only are enough to reverse it.

153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mining with 30 to 50 free laptops on: February 05, 2018, 08:42:36 AM
i know laptop mining is not worth it but if i had that many for free, is it still not worth it?

No, unless you also have free electricity, and even then the profits are going to be tiny. I suppose low-end laptops do not have discrete GPUs and mining CPU-minable coins (e.g. Monero) with low-end i3s it not worth it.
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: When is the best time to buy BTC -NOW??? on: February 02, 2018, 11:53:58 AM
Never buy on a down trend. Best option is wait and see.

Right. The fall is huge and the volumes are not so high, so the decline may continue. While I am still optimistic in the long term (years), I fear we may enter another long "cypto winter" now and that there will be plenty of opportunities to buy at even lower prices.

Well again with btc volatility extremely hard to predict, it can recoil sooner than you expect and you'll miss the chance of buying cheap bargained coins. For me, buying little by little during dips like this is better. It doesn't matter if it goes lower, just buy again then.

It did recoil sharply in December, but it was something of a 'bull trap'. But now it is not a dip, the decline is slow but steady and nobody knows where it will end. Buying during such times is psychologically difficult, because the price always falls. I hold what I have, but I do not buy.

I agree with you. Crypto winter is very likely, but before that I foresee another pump or two. And without saying, after that "crypto winter", there will probably be another parabolic rise and all coins will get hyped again.

Small pump is possible, but it probably will not be high. Now I have doubt if it can even break $10k. Another parabolic rise is the source of my optimism, I expect it too, but not this year...

OMG actually Bitcore is one of the three coins which are not loosing in the top 100. Thats so nice to see!
If this bloodbath goes on like this BTX can soon reach the top 50. Cool

Yes, such resilience is really worth noticing. The price falls now, but it falls much slower than almost anything else.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Tangerine (Ex-Mandarin) - Democratic Cryptocurrency Exchange on: February 02, 2018, 06:41:21 AM
Do you plan to make a conclusion in the fiat currencies? If yes, then when? I apologize if this question has already been asked.

It seems that they added fiat deposits to the exchange, although I did not test it. The whole project now looks too shady to give them money.

Hi everybody! you think of a road map we do not wait? why no news from the team?

I do not want to be a doomsayer, but the project looks abandoned. It was a surprise for me that they added fiat deposits, but now I am not even sure if this is a good sign or not. There is no communication from the team, no news, no announcements. Nothing.
159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 01, 2018, 11:37:22 AM
I don’t know but as a HODLER it’s pretty upsetting seeing the price crash so much. I know it always recovers but it’s worrying seeing this at the moment Sad

It is. I also have a few coins and I'm not going to sell them now, because I'm still optimistic in long term. The recovery, however, may easily take a year...

I want know if the Smerit would be update per month or per week?
it's really hard to become the SR member,I need 140 merit, but it's hard if you don't send your smerit to others.

AFAIK sMerits are not renewable, except for merit sources. Merit updates (when somebody sends you merit) are immediate.
