I would like to see 1000 people get the airdrop. The more people receiving/hodling and trading deeponion the better. A good coin will be held by smart people. The other bonuses and (x2-x5) multipliers get paid from the bounty %, not the airdrop.

I would also like the airdrop process to be simple and precise. However I do not see what happens behind the scenes but I do know at early on it was descovered that there was many scammers/multi account holders and more. This is why its necessary to be a member of the official forum so IP checks can be checked.

however.

i dont run DO, I'm not a mod,  i have an opinion like everyone else and have to learn the rules, respect the rules, follow the rules. It could not be more simpler than reading, taking part and keeping up to date.
This is what I have been trying to say, more people absolutely have to be invited into the Airdrop.
If the current trend continues only a handful of people will sit on most of the Onions at the end.

Also, really, Novaexchange is a crap exchange because it is so unstable.

Get DO on Cryptopia, no need for a bigger exchange than that for now.

--ypsi

It's not going to get on any real exchange with 288 people hand picked by the devs sitting on the entire coin supply, unfortunately.

I understand the point you are all raising here regarding broad distribution, but I am not sure that it is as valid as it once was. Or rather, the more folks that dump their Onions the less valid this argument becomes.

Currently, 2.7 million Onions have been Airdropped. These Onions were shared among 792 bitcointalk accounts or so. Of those 2.7 million Onions approximately 700,000 Onions have been moved from their Airdrop accounts - almost all to be subsequently dumped on the open market (Nova).

So, by my figuring, 36% of the current circulating supply of Onions have been made available at one point to anyone on the planet who cared enough to buy them.

Even without taking those tens of thousands of Onions that have been mined via PoW into account, we are already looking at a very broad distribution base for the first 2.7 million Onions (of the 18 million that will be eventually Airdropped).

They were shared among 288 accounts, not 792.

Either number - even if you're correct, is about 4 orders of magnitude less than ideal.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: October 15, 2017, 04:08:47 AM
I received 3 weeks of airdrops before I got mysteriously banned for unknown reason. I tried to get an explanation from the DeepOnion team for like 3 weeks and all my posts were deleted, and the team refused to give me an explanation. I never broke a single rule. I reached out on Slack, BTC talk forums, the DeepOnion forums, and PM'ed all the mods.

After all my posts were deleted and my requests for an explanation were silenced for three weeks. I also found out that many others were blacklisted without any explanation and watched as all these people decided to stop supporting this toxic community. I realized after 3 weeks that my signature was now being exploited for further attention to the coin for a community that turned its back on me, and gave up due to the teams absurd lack of transparency and elitist secret rules to remain in on the airdrops that no one can explain. I was degraded and ridiculed by other DeepOnion community members as others rubbed it in my face that I must not have followed the rules.(I followed all the rules from day 1). I after that immediately dumped my coins on the exchange, deleted the wallet, and removed the signature. I watched in much amusement as prices continued to plunge after I dumped.

I have checked back and have determined that I absolutely made the best decision to not try and brown-nose the DeepOnion team any further. I put my BTC from selling into quality projects and have more than 5x that money at this point. The DeepOnion community is basically an elitist cult. I had planned on probably dropping $10k into the project initially after liking what I had seen, but will not touch this project with a 10 ft pole, and neither will any of my friends.

I was going to write their android and iOS wallets for them, they said it was a 10k bonus for it. Then they changed it to "some coins".

Lol. Fuck off.

I don't think they have any actual developers. I think they're just cut and pasting from other coins.

Can I purchase this coin right now or is the only way to get it through airdrops?

You can buy as many ONIONS at Novaexchange right now!

Has novaexchange opened registrations again?

Did they recently close them again?

I've tried to register for months without success.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: October 15, 2017, 04:02:18 AM
They've just released a closed source, windows only, wallet, and continue to allow almost no one in their actual airdrop while trying to extort free advertising from them.

I tried to get in for a while but they now claim I must have been a purchased account because I wasn't active for a long time, where anyone looking at my posts can clearly see it's been me writing all along.

Also, you can't use the word "scam" on their forum. It flags it as spam and won't let you post. Lol.

This is nothing but a long con. Most of the bag holders (I won't dignify it by calling them devs) are going to dump before their 40th airdrop week, the coin value will drop to zero, and it will die.

Yes, registrations on nova are open again. At least it worked for me 2 weeks ago after not being able to register for about a month.

I've tried many times and never been able to register.

The price of Onion is back under a dollar. Why does it not hold $1 when bitcoin is making ATH. Good time to buy for the hodlers i guess. Grin

The price is where it is because the supply is nearly zero. If you want to see what really happens, wait until week 40 - most likely the price will drop to a fraction of a penny or less, for about a day until even novaexchange delists it.

I share the experience I do so.(I use GOOGLE to translate, the sentence may not be correct)

About two weeks ago, the first time I applied, but was rejected.
10/11 I filed an application for retrial

I used this format:

Bitcointalk UID:
Bitcointalk Username:
Bitcointalk Profile Link:
Onion Wallet Address:
Reason of Ban:

The person in charge is quick to reply, about two to three hours.
Although unfortunately it is rejected.
He gave me a clear reason:  "suspicious activity detected"
He said that means is "suspicious activities such as bought accounts, multiple accounts, low quality posts, deleted posts, inactivity, etc."
So the rejected people can think from these directions.

Note: I have asked which one I belong to, but did not get an answer
We are sorry that your application for DeepOnion airdrop is declined because your account doesn't meet some conditions we required. We thank you for your continuous support of the DeepOnion.

guys! can  you  tell  me  what  is  some  conditions?  i  was  rejected!

was asking the same question as well, I suggested in the forum if they can add a specific reason so we can fix it instead of getting rejected and banned when trying to re-apply..

2 you do not read @yaunzunsha's answer for another person in the top few replies? Use your support ticket to send help requests to dev.
Be patient and always read the rules before applying for airdrop.
Wish you two good luck.

ok I misunderstood what he meant, I thought he was talking about the re-application not about asking why we got rejected..thanks anyway Smiley

I got the same first response "suspicious activity detected", which means little (and certainly isn't accurate, I've had the same account here for years although I don't post much) and have received no followup when I asked.

Guys a quick question, do I need to update my wallet in orde to get friday's airdrop? Or I will still be able to get my onions on the old wallet?

There is no Need to update it to receive the airdrop! However it is recommended to use the newest Version of the wallet! But since it can not be checked by the crawler which wallet Version you are using (you can simply stay offline for example), it does not affect the airdrop Distribution.
The problem is that until Friday night I can't access my pc so I have to wait until then to update the wallet, and if you say that the airdrop distribution won't be affected I can relax. The only thing I don't understand is when you say: (you can simply stay offline for example). What exactly do you mean by that?

There's no need to ever open a wallet software to get coins.  All you have to do is have the private key to a public address, which you have in that wallet.  The coins don't exist on your computer or in your wallet.  Your wallet simply stores the keys that access coins on the public blockchain.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia banning BTC? on: October 10, 2017, 09:54:47 AM
It doesn't matter if russia bans it, but it wouldn't surprise me. Russia is a communism just like china, so it makes great sense that they want to control their people. It wont matter really, because bitcoin is designed to be unstoppable. It would take all putins wealth to stop it, and I doubt he would use that much money on it. He'd rather buy 10000 more rockets.

I don't think Putin is interested in stopping bitcoin.  He's endorsed mining operations and probably Russia will become a competitor to China in that.

Communism is really mostly dead, even in Russia and China.  They still have some fascist practices certainly, but they haven't been real Communists in a long time.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia banning BTC? on: October 10, 2017, 09:38:14 AM
Its good that they educate the public about the dangers of Bitcoin but can't really agree about the limitation of freedom to make your own mistakes.

If you still think that Bitcoin is safe store of value think what happens when economic depression hits on. Stock market crashes gives you some idea. Mr. Market decides Bitcoins value so in no way can it considered "safe store of value". All it takes is one big whale to start selling and it may lose 75% of its value in an instant.

I wonder how many actual bitcoin whales there are left.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia banning BTC? on: October 10, 2017, 09:24:27 AM
Market manipulation, maybe -- it makes no sense for them to do this given their current political moves they've made with regard to bitcoin.  Strongly doubt this is actually going to happen.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Tezos on: October 09, 2017, 01:10:18 PM
So the so called trading on hitbtc is just a speculation... Sad ))

Yep.

I'm definitely interested to see what happens when they do go live though.  hard to say if it crashes from everyone selling or holds and rises.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: China banning bitcoin exchages, good or bad? on: October 09, 2017, 04:34:04 AM
After more than 2 weeks the issue seems to have no impact whatsoever even though the Chinese government banned exchanges and bitcoin, the price will continue to skyrocket and can not go down again as happened 3 weeks ago.

Things rise and fall...  There's no real way to predict that, or to predict future actions by China or their impacts.
155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: .422 BTC Lost of simple change of latest Bread Wallet iOS on: October 08, 2017, 11:29:08 PM
How many words do your recovery phrase have? If it has 12-word seed since its the common numbers for recovery seed, you can try to paste it on electrum or even on blockchain to recover your funds. Double check the word's spelling and the order of it. Because once you mispelled even once and interchange it's order, it will make a new set of addresses

Good point also.
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: .422 BTC Lost of simple change of latest Bread Wallet iOS on: October 08, 2017, 11:28:33 PM
The keys are likely still on your device, and can probably be forensically recovered.

Whether it's worth doing that for 1800 bucks is up to you - I would probably do it.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's killing crypto on: October 08, 2017, 04:45:00 AM
Without ICOs, there would be no Ethereum. Without Ethereum, the crypto market wouldn't have grown so fast. It's attracting a lot of capital right now.

Ethereum is facilitating a wave of shitcoins and most will never see the light of day. The coin itself is a shitcoin that can't even perform a basic function of a cryptocurrency i.e. multisig. The only thing propping it up is the perpetual token sale whereby investors have to buy ETH to buy said token. It was setup to be a crypto ponzi scheme to attract regulators to this market and that's essentially what it is - a trojan horse.

https://news.bitcoin.com/ethereums-parity-client-users-lose-millions-multi-sig-hack/

It's backed by big bankers from Wall Street who have developed an automated shitcoin factory with ETH as the center spoke of the wheel. A nice PSD will get you 30 million in funding sometimes more. Vitalik Buterin is nothing more than a front man for the big bankers. They figured he was some kind of authority in Bitcoin since he co-founded bitcoinmagazine.com so they hyped him up as the next Albert Einstein and all the idiots on Main Street ate it up.

ICOs have been around way before Etheruem was even an idea. The reason why it didn't attract regulators is because it required a minimum technical understanding of the Bitcoin protocol to launch a cryptocurrency to hold a premine for the ICO. Now every dip shit in silicon valley and on Wall Street is trying to launch their own token through it. Some even promoting integration with VISA and Mastercard.. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency was never meant to co-exist with VISA or any other payment processor for that matter - it was meant to replace it.

Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1391350.0

Silicon valley and wall street are co-opting Satoshi's movement to co-exist with the current system instead of replacing it. If it keeps going down this road this movement will die and be remembered as a tulip bulb bubble. By investing in these ICOs and supporting Ethereum YOU are responsible for contributing to the downfall of this legendary movement that has the potential to completely disrupt the central banking system and the debt slavery cycle that has imprisoned mankind for over 100 years.

Shitcoin projects like Civic who are promoting identity based cryptocurrency as a de facto standard are also contributing to the downfall of this movement. I wouldn't be surprised if that is a government project meant to derail this movement and discredit Bitcoin and it's counterparts. Why do we need identity based cryptocurrency to replace Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency? When you strip away all the fancy GUI wallets and the mobile applications all cryptocurrency is just data on your computer that you can transfer through a transmission protocol. If an identity is mandated for a file on your computer, then where does this end? Must an meme or gif also have a digital identity signature? How about a word document you send to a journalist through a peer to peer transmission? Do you see where this is going?

https://cryptoinsider.com/civic-blockchain-solution-combat-cybercrime/

The downfall of crypto was premeditated by the central banks:

1) China ban
2) Dimon discredits Bitcoin ("This will end badly"- Dimon)
3) G-8 slaps North Korea with sactions
4) China cuts trade ties with North Korea

What comes next (end goal)

5) All governments of the world accuse North Korea of using Bitcoin to fund their weapons program and attempt to impose draconian regulation (this is coming and will mark the biggest test for Cryptocurrency)

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-11/north-korea-hackers-step-up-bitcoin-attacks-amid-rising-tensions
http://www.businessinsider.com/north-korea-allegedly-stole-bitcoin-from-south-korea-2017-4
https://www.coindesk.com/report-north-korea-targets-south-koreas-bitcoin-exchanges-cyber-attacks/
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/12/north-korea-hackers-trying-to-steal-bitcoin-evade-sanctions.html

This narrative is the same one pushed by the mainstream media with regards to Iraq and it's WMD program. Similarly, they cite no evidence of North Korea using Bitcoin yet they'll keep regurgitating this talking point until it the banhammer comes down. The Potcoin project is also to blame for this facilitating this narrative when they sent Dennis Rodman over there in Potcoin attire.

You make a lot of good points here. There's a lot of scamming going on here, and the regulators are going to come in eventually.
158  Economy / Economics / Re: China banning bitcoin exchages, good or bad? on: October 07, 2017, 09:56:48 AM
That is bad for the value of bitcoin. We all have felt the effect on it to the market. Bitcoin and then almost all the altcoins went down when the news came that china will ban all ICOs and then looked at with negative interest to the exchanges right after that. But I think it would be better for bitcoin and altcoins to be staying away from the chinese.
You can really see in the markets of bitcoin and other altcoins that they are going up now and that is the proof that even the chinese people banned bitcoin exchanges, it doesn't actually fully affect the prices of the coins and that is why bitcoin is a good investment because even the big countries will left bitcoin, it can still stand by itself and proved that their decisions are wrong for dumping bitcoin from their country.

That's not necessarily true.  The market isn't totally dominated by China perhaps, but if enough countries do take action against it there will be some difficulty in keeping it liquid, which will depress the price.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Tezos on: October 04, 2017, 02:40:53 PM
Thanks guys!
There is an "unofficial" trading of tezos on hitbtc. Is there the real price? 2 usd per tezos. Because if it is the real price it is 4 times higher than the ICO price.

They're effectively trading futures, not the market itself.  What the real market will do when the tokens are distributed is hard to say.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Tezos on: October 02, 2017, 11:01:14 PM
Hello guys!

Any news about Tezos? I bought some and just interested how is it going. Do you think that it will be a successful project?
They claimed to be the better version from the ethereum foundation with its original smart contract. that's why the team raised a lot of money. even ethereum with all of their successful roadmap already a small ico to got some million dollars, The copy paste idea form the tezos developer must not worth hundreds million.

Tezos is not in any way a copy/paste of ethereum.
