141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable for me to Hold or Sell ? on: December 03, 2017, 11:43:09 PM
Hello , I have about 3 months only working with bitcoin and i've only gathered some of it from freelance work and signature campaigne.
It's like 100$ every month or more . Is it beneficial for me to sell those amounts and just live with them. or should i hold although they are small amounts.
I've been told that small amounts like that won't make any diffrence if u held them,so i might just as well sell.
Is anyone in the same situation as me ? and what are you planning to do with you satoshi.
Its totally a wrong advice that small amounts won't make any difference. Its just like rain drops.Every small drop counts. Not all the people are directly earning one bitcoin straight away. So,i advice you to just hold your bitcoins as BTC price is increasing fastly so that your holding amount could make a difference in just a week too.
142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does the Rise of Bitcoin affect short term positions? on: December 03, 2017, 06:25:13 PM
Short term profits could not be expected from bitcoins and bitcoin mostly benefits only in a long term basis.Altcoins only would best suit for short term profits as its market is highly volatile.Since bitcoin price is continuously moving in bullish trend, short term benefits could not be expected and it would be much better to hold bitcoins for a long time.
143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Day Trade on: December 03, 2017, 06:21:20 PM
Bitcoin pricing are going trough a rollercoaster right now. Are you taking advantage of these ups and downs day trading?
I think that day trading would best suit altcoins and not bitcoin.Bu i think bitcoin price is surging high continuously and would not be profitable or day trading. To make profits in day trading, you should set a profit margin of low percentage since you are going to re invest and repeat the trading frequently within a day.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons You Shouldn't Buy Bitcoins on: December 03, 2017, 06:07:29 PM
Why should you not invest in bitcoins, cryptocurrencies?
Is there any valid reason to stay away from cryptocurrencies?
I think it is good to have some discussion here for our kind information.

One of the main reason for not investing in bitcoins may be due to not ready for accepting new innovative technologies and just feeling comfort to stay along with traditional systems. Also if you don't have risk bearing attitude,it would be much better to stay away from crypto currencies.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Missing- Critics of Bitcoin.Kindly find out. on: December 03, 2017, 06:03:08 PM
Critics of bitcoin are not found for the past few days.

With bitcoin price surging to ATH price of $11,630 and bitcoin getting huge media exposure and also wall street firms entering bitcoin market,it seem that critics would not be found for more days.

Kindly find out where they are?
146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is day trading? on: December 02, 2017, 05:37:16 PM
Can anyone please explain to me what exactly is day trading.
I saw in a lot of posts I'm which people mentioned about day trading.
Is it as simple as it sounds?
Day trading means trading frequent times within a day itself.Mostly, day trading is beneficial in altcoin market which is highly volatile. In day trading, very low profit margin is kept since more number of trading would be done.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: 7 forks based on BTC are on the way? That's insane and crazy on: December 02, 2017, 05:32:58 PM
Where have you heard this stuff about "7 forks based on BTC in December"? Any links to the news on the web?

It was bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold also, next one is scheduled to be bitcoin diamond, which will probably be this month as many expecting. While first two were ratio 1:1 if you have one BTC you get 1 BCH or BTG, on bitcoin diamond is 1:10 ratio. For one bitcoin you will get 10 bitcoin diamond.
Whatever the numbers may be,i think those forks would have no impact on bitcoin's price and its progress.People have realized that those forks were made just for the benefits of some group of miners. So,their attitude of buying more bitcoins for claiming free coins has almost completely changed.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why people from 3rd countries are crazy about getting cryptos? on: December 02, 2017, 05:28:37 PM
I have no problem with where they live (thousands of miles away from me, thankfully) or what they do for a living.  The problem I have is that most of the ones I see on bitcointalk contribute absolutely ZERO to any conversations.  Why?  Because they're so desperate to make their required number of posts for their sig campaigns, and the campaigns have absolutely no quality control.  They post the same phrases and sentiments about bitcoin over and over, and it's maddening.  So I wish they would stick to the local board that most suits their language skills.  Me, if the first 3 words of a sentence aren't in the proper order and I cannot understand where the post is going, I just skip it.  Most of the posts I skip come from foreign posters.  Asia, and the Phippines in particular, is the main culprit.  And I'd say Russia is up there, too.

I can see your point.

I wish my brothers and sisters would simply look at the bigger picture, and not just obssess over their post count and not "how to be jr. Member?" Or "how to join sig campaign?".

Allot of us Filipinos,( not everyone of course!) have a spoon fed mentallity. I know this since I'm still struggling to break out of it. It probably stems from our tradition of living together in hard times, and thinking that being alone and self-sustaining in life is a  prospect only for those who are lucky or already rich.

But it should go without saying that this could fit with anyone- not just east asians or whatever race. The tendency just sticks with 3rd world countries.

Just my probably faulty observation, please dont take my word as absolute.
Your English is a lot better than most Filipinos I've seen on this forum, and every rule has an exception of course.  I've seen people with very good English language skills write lazy one-liners in order to rank up or for whatever other purpose, and those folks suck ass, too.  My problem is not with politics, countries, or what nationality someone is.  It's with people's ability to communicate and their motivations for being members of bitcointalk.  It's with shitposters in general.  It just so happens that a majority of them come from Asia (non-English speaking countries) and they're decreasing the signal to signal ratio to a near-infinitesimal value.
I could understand their situation since they are in desperate need for money since they could not find enough sources to earn. But they should atleast contribute some value to the discussion making it meaningful.Just posting shitposts will not help them in the long run.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Be 1 Million in 2020 on: December 02, 2017, 05:15:35 PM
He seems to be highly optimistic. That price does not seem to be an achievable price till 2020.Bitcoin has the capacity to reach that price, but it would take years for it to happen.Already,we have reached this price of $11,000 very fastly.
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Continually Be Growing Into End of Year on: December 02, 2017, 05:10:48 PM
Its true that for christmas and new year celebrations, more people may cash out by selling their bitcoins. But i think it too would have a small impact on bitcoin price since positive factors like wall street companies entering the market and media exposure have been continuously the positive driving force for bitcoin price.

152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Development in Japan's bitcoin mining on: December 02, 2017, 01:49:29 PM
We already know that the japanese internet giant GMO said that it would invest $3 million for bitcoin mining operations. It also added that it would build a mining center in a scandinavian country where the weather would best suit for mining. But now, latest news is that a region in northern japan, kazuno city has been found to have the weather which would best suit for mining operations and also city has abundance of renewable energy.A company named Miner garage is setting up mining operations there.Definitely,it would be a positive development in the mining industry of japan.

153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber & Lyft to accept Bitcoin on: December 01, 2017, 11:55:44 PM

The problem is the processing time for bitcoin is too slow and unreliable, it's not like ordering online where you can wait for the bitcoin transaction to be processed prior to shipping the product.

The speed time is really what's delaying the wide adoption of bitcoin but this would be pretty awesome if lyft/uber did this.
Yes,the huge time taken for confirmation would be a big issue. But if it gets accepted, definitely it would help bring bitcoin into the mainstream of daily usage. It would make it more popular and would make critics mouth shut who just blame that bitcoin could not be used as a currency.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Generous Forks! on: December 01, 2017, 11:53:53 PM
Hi, I've been away from Bitcoin for a couple of years now, working overseas and getting on with life.... until just a few weeks ago.... Lo and behold, I've just found out that a strange thing called a Fork has happened. Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold now exist.

Reading a little about these forks, I realised that I have been generously gifted the same amount in these two new crypto currencies as I have in my dormant Bitcoin account, which is nice! This has made me think though - am I missing something? That is, apart from these Bitcoin Cash and Gold, have there been any other forks that I should be aware of, in which they have also given me more money!!?
There is nothing generous in that.Don't worry. There are plenty of forks yet to come.Bitcoin diamond has come and bitcoin silver is to come soon. But nowadays, people are losing interests in such air drops. They find most of them to be scam. They are just done for benefits of some miners.Every thing would not give huge profits as BCH.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Easily Discouraged with Dips? on: December 01, 2017, 11:51:29 PM
No.I would actually see it as an opportunity to buy more bitcoins at a lower price since i have already seen many times bitcoin price falling and recovering soon.It would be only newbies who would get panic and sell their bitcoins in such dips.We have already seen lots of dips and immediate recovery after such dips bitcoin reaching ATH.So,just stay cool and buy more BTC silently during such dips.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin just a brand? on: December 01, 2017, 11:47:14 PM
You have made some arguments that don't necessarily mean anything.
Sure Litecoin is faster, but its 2 minute block time means a much bigger security risk as a greater amount of hashpower is wasted. Therefore it also requires a much higher bandwidth and if it had the same number of users as Bitcoin it's network wouldn't be able to handle the load.
It's a similar story for Monero. Same block time.

Ethereum and Bitcoin are driven by different purposes and thus cannot be compared. Bitcoin Cash is not better than Bitcoin in any shape or form.

Sure, the majority of all altcoins have features that Bitcoin does not, or are better than Bitcoin in a way and Bitcoin's price might stem from the fact that it was the first currency, but due to that, it's still the best currency.
Absolutely.Bitcoin has been the pioneer in crypto world gaining the trust of investors all over the world. It was the first thing which gave financial freedom to the people who were already fed up of governments and banking sectors. They have seen it performing well giving them good returns as well as their investments also remaining safely. So,they prefer bitcoins and don't want to risk themselves by investing in other altcoins.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will a future quantum computer make blockchain encryption obsolete? on: December 01, 2017, 11:42:58 PM
It might take around twenty more years for quantum computers to come in to existence.it is said that quantum computers would be able to read the private key from the public key of the wallet itself.if that happens, then the security of bitcoins stored in our wallet may be compromised.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: December 01, 2017, 03:00:02 PM
Hey guys, I've decided to ask you - what whould you do in this problemmatic situation?

Suppose you have some bitcoins (let's say 22) and you bought them / got them a few years ago very cheap, and now you see it's price and.... what to do?!! Will you take the profit and go away, or sit and hold further? Suppose you're not going to buy more. But when to sell?
First of all,it would be really a huge money when calculated today.I will not sell all of those bitcoins.I will sell just one or two bitcoins to enjoy a happy life and to increase my family's standard of living.

But i would just hold the remaining 20 bitcoins since every one knows very well that this price is not the end point and bitcoin deserves more high prices than today's price.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin have any value? on: December 01, 2017, 02:49:42 PM
How does Bitcoin have any value?
Bitcoin's value is based on the trust which bitcoin community has on it.It has gained the trust of investors all over the world.More over, bitcoin is free from inflation as its total supply of coins is fixed as 21 million coins and it would remain unchanged unlike USD which is printed forever.Bitcoin has got its value earlier by delivering unique features to its investors.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Already lost 50% of my capital on: November 29, 2017, 11:53:51 PM
Hello guys. I just want to ask for your opinion or an advice.
I started trading since May 2017. I calculated all my loss, I already lost 50% of my capital  Sad. Some coins are still in hold.
I just want to ask what can you give to me an advice or any learnings  about trading. I'm using bittrex.
I also lost 80% of my capital after joining the crypto for 2 months. I also started with Bittrex. But I trade the whole capital loss. Currently I have gained some capital and interest. My experience is that if you have large capital, please trade on sites such as Bittrex, Poloniex ... If your capital is not large then you should trade on smaller sites like Cryptopia, Novaexchange, Coinexchange, Yobit, Hitbtc. These commercial pages have a small volume that is less affected by market fluctuations.
That's really a good advice. One more thing.Since you are a newbie,i guess that you would have bought more new released coins on seeing their prices surging high.Am i right?Actually, they are just getting pumped and unknowing this, you would have bought it and would have sold it at very less price when they all got dumped. So,set a profit margin of 5% to 10% so that you could finish the trade once target achieved and you may avoid losses.
