142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 15, 2024, 06:54:03 PM
I honestly wonder why people have certain favorite slot games outside of perhaps getting lucky with a certain type once or twice and wanting to got to / use that slot machine type in the future.  For me they are all about the same, there isn't one or another that I like losing to more lol.

I do agree that the likelihood of the majority of your outcomes will be losing, that's for sure lol.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 06:51:40 PM
This depends entirely on what kind of gambling I'm looking to do.  If I'm looking to place some sports bets, then getting on my online casino's tends to make the most sense.  If I'm looking to play a long game of Poker/Texas Hold'em, then being in person where I can use the art of "bluffing", reading other places faces etc that make Poker fun (to me), then being in person makes the most sense.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be wealthy you need action on: May 15, 2024, 06:49:30 PM
"You can read books listen all the gurus, but it's nothing compared with your own experince.
Instead of reading the books or listening the gurus learn the basics and start action make some moves because you will need to be ready to make mistakes don't take this emotionally be with mindset that you gona have nice long 3 years of working with something make mistakes don't think about them too much just make notes what went wrong and move on dont make same mistake try new way.
At the end you will have a lot experince base to see what did worked and what did not worked out."

The problem without reading books or listening to "gurus" is the likelihood of making big mistakes.  Its one thing to "work out the kinks" when playing baseball or doing whatever where you "live and Learn" but living and learning with your finances is a risky proposition.  Not all books or self help items (seminars/webinars etc) have to do with telling you what products to buy or pushing certain things.  Many can help with just basics, and not learning the basics from reading is silly.

Why do we read and learn about History?  The answer is to not make the mistakes of the past.  Read !
145  Economy / Economics / Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 15, 2024, 06:45:13 PM
This topic has come up quite a few times over the years on this board.  A lot of the discussion around it has mostly been others opinions.  I found this neat little graph online (instagram) from the New York Times that compares the two.  Now keep in mind one's location will certainly have an effect on which one might make more sense, even in what part of you own country you're in.

146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 06:39:10 PM
How about maybe the biggest gamble of all, Fractional Reserve Banking where big/large banks use a large % of peoples money to gamble/invest in all sorts of different things, meaning that your money is really not all at a bank somewhere, though it's theoretically supposed to be.  It's kind of insane how hard it is (at least in the United States) to go to a bank and take out a "large" sum of money (say 7-10k).  This to me is crazy gambling and a reason laws were put in to place to stop this.
147  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Mixed Lot: Microsoul 0.05 btc Silver // LuckyBit Test Bars!!!! on: May 15, 2024, 01:56:41 PM
Lot 3 @ .0008

148  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Mixed Lot: Microsoul 0.05 btc Silver // LuckyBit Test Bars!!!! on: May 15, 2024, 04:24:49 AM
Lot 2 & 3 .0006BTC

fuck... i loaded my microsol .1 to .1 ---- this would have been great knowledge to have

just fucking kidding... lmao. i do have one loaded at .001 - that btc is now considered gone.

I don’t know which version, but I know some of the Microsoul coins , or a specific version (which I’m guessing these are), were loaded with something like 6 x face value...something like that.  So some people are possibly going to get a nice surprise, or maybe nothing at all.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: May 14, 2024, 05:59:28 PM
Earlier this morning I was going to work in a bus I over heard, some one complaining very badly that if the government tries to put an end to gambling. That many people will die in hungry with this our economy which nothing is working, no work for people food are at higher amount in their and some people are benefiting from gambling this days, that mostly him his benefiting from gambling.

That with $200 he can stake and win about $100000 daily something that you won't even struggle to get, they can't even pay someone at work monthly up to that amount. So if their is no more online gambling that means definitely there won't be no more gambling at all. So how will you cope in your country if eventually they put an end to online gambling?

Wel just because he can stake "200 and win about 100000" doesn't necessarily mean that's what people are doing and wining.  I guess it depends on what country you live in, but here in the United States gambling has only become more and more accepted/legal and it's going at a fever pitch.

Let's say your government does ban online betting for good, you've still got the option to use a VPN and online casinos.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2024 on: May 14, 2024, 05:56:35 PM
What's everyone doing for Bitcoin Pizza Day (BPD) 2024?

The best tagline I've heard so far is: "14 years ago, you could buy pizza for 10,000 bitcoins... now you can buy 10,000 pizzas for 1 bitcoin!"

I will be at Scratch Restaurant from 11am until 1pm. This is my flagship location that has been accepting bitcoin since 2018!

Then, in the afternoon, we will head to Higher Heights Fitness for a crypto 101 discussion from 2pm until 3pm.

https://www.facebook.com/events/362670259601793/

Hope you can join if you're near me. Otherwise, share your plans here!

I don't use facebook anymore so I am unable to see the time/date/location details outside of what you've shared in your post here, but this is really cool of you to do, and I hope you gets at least a person or two to join you.

Fun fact.. most people don't realize that Laszlo actually ended up trading around 35,000 bitcoins for several pizza deals, instead of just the 10k most people think he spent.  Kind of crazy!
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: May 14, 2024, 05:54:21 PM
"more and more, I'm seeing people wanting to pay Bitcoin, and you're seeing something that's interesting, so I can live with it one way or the other".  I mean this is kind of funny coming from someone who's sold a bunch of NFTs, so he's obviously aware of the blockchain.  Not that I think he understands any of it, I just think it's kind of funny when he says "I can live with it".

I'm not sure his "pro" bitcoin stance will really make much of a difference in it's price.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making bets with my stupid friend on: May 14, 2024, 05:51:48 PM
Hi ,

I have a friend, although we get along very well, sometimes you find us getting into heated discussions, and I do not consider this a misunderstanding ,each one has a different point of view than the other on some topics, and this is what makes talking to him very interesting, by looking the huge amount of informations that we get on it, whether on his part or on my part.

But we always end the debates by making a bet, knowing that he is not a gambler, and the informations he has about gambling comes to him through me, and he realizes very well that if he enters into a bet with me, I will take his money, but when he is confident in what he says, you find him the first to present the idea and on his own terms.

While betting become  the only solution to our discussions sometimes you find us betting on trivial and meaningless things, and with regard to the profit from those bets, it is simple for example : on the restaurant bill, where the loser invites the winner to dinner and pays, but sometimes when we bet With money, there is no winner among us, and you find that one of us turns against the other, or the winner returns the money to the loser, as we realize very well that none of us can take the other’s money.

Bets with him are always great entertainment and I always have good times and funny moments .

Do you make bets with your friends?
What do you think about this experience  ?

I guess as long as this betting doesn't imped on your friendship, then it's no big deal.  I have a couple friends where I'm constantly making bets like this with.  Typically we would bet a steak dinner (when I ate meat) and it's gotten to the point where he just owe me a whole cow lol.  But it never hurts our friendship and is in good fun.

A fun betting/gambling game to play when you're out to eat is "credit card roulette" where you all put a credit card in a hate, and if you're card gets pulled, then you owe the entire dinner bill.  Can be fun!
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: May 14, 2024, 05:47:22 PM
This is one of the reasons I don't like playing certain games on online casinos.  I mean there are online casinos that I certainly trust more than others, but over all making sure they are "provably fair" seems a little difficult to verify with certain casinos.  I myself like playing games against other IRL people (not an automated bot of whatever) or just doing sports betting, which of course is provably fair.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 13, 2024, 03:38:00 PM
At the time that I had found out about bitcoin, there was very few people actually speaking about and promoting it. “Way” back in 2013ish timeframe very few people had still yet to have heard of bitcoin and there certainly wasn’t tickers scrolling the current price of bitcoin at the bottom of all financial news outlets such as CNBC, for example. It was a very different time back then.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your top mistakes in crypto - learning from others experiences! on: May 12, 2024, 08:12:55 PM
On thing that people often like to say is a mistake is the fact that I studied bitcoin for at least one year before every buying any.  It was probably somewhere around the year 2013 and I had come to learn of bitcoin, and it's breakthrough technology, but I was still skeptical and didn't really know what to make of it so I studied it for a year.  I read Mastering Bitcoin, Digital Gold and any other book /news article etc I could get on bitcoin and continued to study it before ever buying.  I think it was smart, other say a mistake..you be the judge I guess.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: May 12, 2024, 08:07:37 PM
Got this email 5 days ago:

One of my friends really misses the NFL. He's really jonesing for action, even though we've still got a long ways to go.

Betting it all on the Chiefs to win the SB again. /s

I thought that these emails were automatically sent out by the leagues, but I guess if they are going out right now, then the league manager probably sent them out ahead of time..which is kind of funny.  I can't say I totally blame them, I'm jonesing for some NFL football myself.

Been a heck of an offseason for my Bears, and at least as of right now I can pretend as if nothing but great things are ahead for us!
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing all your fortune with just 3 years on: May 12, 2024, 08:03:22 PM
While I certainly have a heart for anyone that is struggling with any sort of addiction, and gambling addiction is no different, I'm not sure you can really blame the casinos here for this man losing this massive fortune.  I mean sure they could be using "suspect" tactics to lure people in to their casinos, but no one HAS to gamble at their casinos, and everyone has free will to come and go as they please.  Still, very sad.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Expertise in Sports and Sports Market Knowledge on: May 12, 2024, 05:17:06 PM
For me knowing more about actual sports than gambling techniques or styles or whatever you want to call them is a bigger deal. I may not be an expert tactician when it comes to placing bets and im sure that hurts my potential upside with gambling, but knowing the sports I’m betting on it a far bigger deal. For example I know NFL football well and am able to bet pretty successfully each year because I know the sport so well. If I knew more about gambling and had more of an expertise is it, sure maybe I could be making even more. But if I didn’t know shit about the game, id do horrible regardless.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2024, 05:11:46 PM
I know that for the most part here in the United States that the majority of people here do know about bitcoin. Working in finance it’s a topic that comes up a good bit, so I know that the majority of Americans are aware of bitcoin, what it is and know the basics of how it works. Just like with anything of course not everyone knows about what it is.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 10, 2024, 07:19:20 PM
lol Anthony Edwards is NOT the second coming of Michael Jordan.  We gotta stop talking about this nonsensical topic.  He's got to win a championship before this even remotely up for debate.

That said, it's exciting to see teams that are left are not the "normal" teams that you typically see in the Championships.  We don't have the Lakers or the Warriors etc.  It's refreshing to see a bit of "new blood".  Excited to see how things play out.
