Hi,

I'd like to reply to this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=229979

Been in to crypto for about a year. Can I prove that I know something about it? How about:

The problem with inflation is that you get misallocation of capital. People start putting their money in to meaningless assets due to loss aversion (we tend to be more sensitive to losses than to gains see Kahneman) in order to store their wealth. This leads to externalities that do not get priced back in to the market function. As a result too many people are having their fiat money stolen in a cowardly way through inflation, and less money means less of a voice in the market. The rich are forcing the poor in to the bartering system; literally pushing them back in time. Now people are forming independent strategies, creating their own currencies by understanding something about the nature of its reality and what it needs to work.

Bitcoin is an asset based currency not a dept based currency and I am humbled by the sheer vision of its founders and that's why I am here; to support and promote the idea itself.

Is that okay?

Thank-you kindly.

Hey, thanks to everyone for your warm welcomes.

I am very interested in the gift economy. I want to see more generosity. I think we should all give our Friends and family Bitcoins, even just satoshis. Everyone should have some Bitcoin. Does anyone know any good services for this. All I can find it pikapay.com.

I have an idea and looking for people to participate.

Since getting started in Bitcoin the one thing I have noticed is the difficulties new users face in exchanging fiat with Crypto; either to buy-in or cash-out and also purchasing goods.

I personally started Mining the day I first heard of Crypto but this was not fast enough because I wanted to trade. I ended up buying Bitcoin from eBay just to get started but this can be very hit and miss. I personally like to do business face to face.
I propose a UK Bitcoin swap meet. You turn up and exchange cash for Crypto / goods for Crypto.

Think of it like a LAN party / Car Boot Sale!

People can turn up and trade face to face goods can be purchased immediately (*Conformations willing) for Crypto etc. The site has good 3G signal so a paired laptop is all you need!

There have been a number of users on BTC-e looking to buy but struggling with accounts and exchanges. I am still having these problems now! It would be nice to form a group of users that are willing to do business face to face and cut out the many, many, middlemen and fees associated with exchanges.

I can only see this as a positive for the Crypto community and everyone stands to gain.

I propose to be available every Sunday AM 09:00 – 12:00 I have a good working relationship with a business partner who operates a local Car Boot Sale http://www.eboot.co.uk/ I will be flying the Bitcoin flag so you can find us!

I will be able to supply Computer Hardware to anyone interested for Crypto (You can order in advanced so hardware is available on the day).  Initially I will only be accepting BTC, LTC, BTB Exchange rates will be available on the day from BTC-e / Cryptsy averages.

I would like comments and ideas. I would also like to gauge interest to make this happen. If we can bring people together to trade it will be great. We are in the middle of the country second largest City so lots of potential!

There are a number of UK users on BTC-e thinking of meeting up and also exchanging. If we can put a fixed time and location this could become very interesting. I do not want to own this I just want to see it grow like the rest of the Crypto community (but remember you heard it here first!)

Hey man, not quite the first. A few people have been asking for this, me included. I am based in London and thinking of starting an open air exchange. Could be persuaded to come up to the second largest city if some more joined in.

Beer for Bitcoin! Let's make it happen.

Great to be here. So when are we going to start spending these coins for products and services?
