The special distribution will start only once NEWB market has reached critical mass and can handle the increased supply. Nxtty messenger app development was discontinued once Newbium project started, Nxtty open chat technology was used as foundation to build current Newbium. I didn't really understand what the new hard fork will change in Bitcoin Cash.
Enabled OPCODES. This should make programming smart contracts possible. Block size limit is now 32MB instead of 8 MB. Those two changes alone make bch flippening much more likely, and probably sooner than many realise. Is there any project currently working on Bitcoin cash second layer scaling options similar to LN ? Also, is there a viable Bitcoin cash version of counterparty? IF/WHEN the flippening happens can bch accommodate these other technologies like LN without further updates like segwit? BCH has to deal with the transaction malleability bug in order to implement something like LN, which relies on the transaction id to be fixed. (segwit fixed the transaction malleability bug.) However, someone may come up with a work around using the OPcodes. Or there may be another way to fix the transaction malleability. However, I think it is low priority for the BCH team to get BCH to scale by using off chain solutions. Being able to implement atomic swaps would be nice. However, Craight Wright seems to think that BCH will eventually replace all other crytopcurrencies. Everything else will only have very limited use cases, according to his vision. Thanks for your reply, this thread is much more interesting when people are discussing the tech issues that separate btc and bch, the governance issues and politics is important too, but the short term market action and personalities much less so, this battle is critical for the whole crypto community, and helping non tech people understand the real issues is very important. Yes, btch was an experimental fork that revealed the power of komodo assetchains, and the talents of the supernet komodo devs, BUT, that doesn't mean btch is just a science experiment. I expect kmd and komodo ecosystem will get more exposure as barterdex releases continue being more 'grandma' friendly, and btch will get exposure as a great anonymous asset. I have to say, it's disappointing to see BTCP taking off as something that BTCH could have been. Yes it's disappointing, but btch is so far ahead on tech that I still believe the market will catch up eventually and price things based on value. In my opinion, a good coin is the coin which has a lot of innovative features. I think IOTA has good and unique features and this is really good for its future.
Yes, agree there are many innovative features will take place in IOTA block chain but for everything we have to wait because good things will always takes time to develop. Already IOTA has secured significant position in the crypto market. You are right. Although it has a low price now, I think it has a great potential for the future. I hope we can see more innovative coins like IOTA in the cryptocurrency world. The UN agreement is a vote of confidence in the iota foundation, not really worthy of a pump, much more significant than that, it means serious people outside crypto and the financial system generally think iota tech is potentially useful in the real world for solving problems. Yes, good point, the ticket buying system for governance should mean only those who are actually following the project closely enough to bother staking get a say in decision making, which should improve the quality of governance while keeping things decentralised. |

Increasing the block size to 2mb was such a small common sense change given the scaling problem in the second half of 2017, I lost faith in blockstream when they reneged on that simple change. That happened in plain sight, so no need for any conspiracy theories. Blockstream's behaviour created the forces that led to Bitcoin cash, and that means people like me can move on and just hold equal amounts of both versions, and leave guys like you arguing with your 'opponents'.
