141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Covid-19 and Bitcoin on: August 17, 2020, 03:13:31 PM
in my opinion there may be a connection between this virus and the rising price of bitcoin. With us being at home and the existence of social distancing, it triggers the use of digital currency more and more frequently. besides that bitcoin is seen as a virtual asset whose value continues to rise so that many people are attracted to investing there. with a dwindling supply and a large number of users making bitcoin prices up again.

144  Other / Politics & Society / Re: social distancing ? covid on: August 17, 2020, 12:23:18 PM
it is boring if we continue to be at home. Beach vacations are not wrong if you comply with existing health protocols. after all, having people on vacation, it gives life to the tourism business. so that the economy continues.
145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Clicking Google Ads can lead you to huge looses - Uniswap customers on: August 17, 2020, 11:37:04 AM
It looks like the scammers are getting smarter at the action. Too bad Google pays less attention to ad filters so scams like this still exist. If we already click on the ad, is there a surefire way to find out and distinguish between a scam and genuine website?
146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Credential Stuffing Attack on: August 17, 2020, 10:55:35 AM
It is very risky to use a username and password identity on various websites. It would be better if you use Google Authenticator as the 2nd safeguard. or use a cell phone number for 2fa.
There are many other authenticators that can be used, but if supported by the account someone wanted to create. You can check the quote below. I prefer such authenticators than to use google authenticator.

You should used an open source authenticator app such as andOTP, Aegis, or Tofu, and not some closed source spyware from Google. Also, SIM or SMS authentication is notoriously easily to hack via SIM jacking and should be avoided.

New knowledge for me, thanks for the reference. So far I have found for authentication using Google and a phone number. maybe later I will try other types of authentication such as the quote that you share, thank you.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can enjoy crypto currency on: August 16, 2020, 09:37:50 PM
Consistency and knowledge are important in trading. Capital is important, but without the ability to analyze the market and a good mentality we will not benefit. unless luck is on our side.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: August 16, 2020, 08:47:31 PM
Crypto currencies are more valuable than gold. fantastic prices then do not require a large space for storage to be the advantage of crypto. We are not worried about storing Bitcoin compared to storing gold in our homes.
150  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: August 16, 2020, 08:27:08 PM
I think, for now in buying and selling transactions around us are still using fiat currency so that the existence of a bank is still needed. We might be able to live without a bank with condition that everyone knows and uses the crypto currency for payment.

If we need fiat to accept cryptocurrencies payments and make other local utility bills and other transactions; we outrightly can't live without banks in existence because we need banks to print notes and curtail some certain individual transaction that has to be fraudulent though banks and bankers are fraudulent as well.

you are right, indeed now we cannot live without a bank. especially for those who live in cities, where financial transactions occur in everyday life. and everything is centrally regulated by the bank.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what new coins are promising? on: August 16, 2020, 08:06:47 PM
2017 was bad for crypto finance where many coins were barely valuable. However, the state of the crypto market seems to be improving in early 2020 until this month. Maybe you can try IDENA. a proof of person project.
152  Other / Meta / Re: custom your bitcointalk header and profile page [css only] on: August 16, 2020, 07:38:02 PM
Great, making the display of the forum colorful is cool, now I can add some new colors so that I feel more comfortable in the forum. If possible, make a css generator to make it easier for beginners to make the forum look more attractive
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start your next project for fast and free! on: August 16, 2020, 07:07:50 PM
Lightsail services from Amazon are FAST and super easy to set up.
https://aws.amazon.com/free/compute/lightsail/

Notice the free up there?  You can actually access a lot of services for free for a year:
https://aws.amazon.com/free/

Use their free tools to build what you need (website, database, bots, etc) and then apply for $1,000 in free AWS credits:
https://aws.amazon.com/activate/

^^ It's very easy to get, as long as you are a real person with an idea.  They are not going to give it away for scams.  Smiley

Do you mean 20 GB is the bandwidth or the size of the database? Is there a quota for usage access, some web server providers refuse to use a credit card, can I use a virtual credit card for activation on Amazon?

You can also host website and store other tools for a year individually on three other cloud service providers and they are

1. Google Cloud
2. Alibaba Cloud
3. Microsoft azure

All of the above listed cloud storage website do offer Wordpress hosting free for one year.

Last month I tried Microsoft Azure, only got 1 month free. How to get free server for 1 year?
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Add bitcoin as a payment method on: August 15, 2020, 06:32:25 AM
Maybe you can use bitpay as a means of bitcoin payment on your website. besides that, bitpay also supports many platforms such as wordpress and other platforms.

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: August 08, 2020, 09:09:03 AM
It's amazing that in just 1 year there have been 9 attacks on decentralized finance. it is a challenge for developers to fix the system to cover the loopholes that could be harmful. also to realize a new and better security system.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi - the niche within a niche and incredibly small community on: August 08, 2020, 08:51:56 AM
If in the long run it is unlikely that there will be a problem, the day the campaign on deFi increases, allowing for the addition of a number of new holders. It's not a short time to make it all happen.
157  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing In Crypto Genuine Better Than Trading Forex on: August 08, 2020, 08:44:37 AM
when we are accustomed to trading with crypto and start to feel comfortable it is better to continue to be on the crypto path. Switching paths to forex is certainly different and requires different psychology. adopting the same mentality will make us lose assets. Preparing mentally and learning patterns before starting is the right step.
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help recognize fraud on: August 08, 2020, 08:36:23 AM
being an intermediary is a risky job, especially if the transaction is large. If you are not sure you can confirm with your work partner, is this really legal. and also using personal accounts for work I don't think is a good idea. if you want to continue, maybe you can use a non-bank account, using another platform that might be safer to support your Job.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SCAM OR NOT? on: August 08, 2020, 08:20:49 AM
First of all I would like to thank everyone for your replies to my post, they have been very helpful. Also I would like to go over the situation again in hopes that it will clarify exactly what has occurred. So I actually contacted Sofia on Instagram after seeing her post about Bitcoin investing and the profits that we could get back from her trading for us doing the mining process. I actually communicated with her prior to me investing. I had spoke and texted with her on several occasions over the course of maybe three or four months so I actually did not jump right into it after just seeing her post. She was very knowledgeable and seemed to know what she was doing and what she was talking about, that's why I decided to invest with her. So initially I used $500 USD to purchase Bitcoin, then I sent the Bitcoin to a wallet address for my investment. After 7 days of trading on my a account I was told I have a profit of $7,500 and for that to be sent to me I had to pay a withdrawal fee and the withdrawal fee is $1,000. So therefore for me to receive $7,500 pay $1,000 yes it's a lot yes it sort of sounds like a scam but I'm thinking okay I'm going to get $7,500 is still you know $6,500 profit so I sent it the very same way I sent the $500 I used USD to purchase 1000 worth of Bitcoin and sent it to the wallet address that she provided to me. Once she received that thousand dollar payment I was told again my payment had been sent and it would take five business days to reflect into my account. The five business days were almost up when I was messaged from her stating that the payment bounced back because I needed to have a Crypto receiving allowance in my account. I have not sent this "Crypto receiving allowance fee". Sophia is telling me once they receive the Crypto allowance fee my profit of 7500 will be released immediately and that the crypto allowance fee stays in my account for a minimum of 6 months and through the six months they will continuously trade on the account. After 6 months I can withdraw the total profits from the account. That is where we are now. Thanks
I can tell from your story that you first paid $ 500 for investment, then paid another $ 1000 for withdrawals. Normally the withdrawal fee is taken from the balance. but if the conditions are like that you can be sure that it is a scam.

I often see point number 9. projects with a good coin value are very tempting, especially for beginners to invest. need knowledge to be able to distinguish which projects are P&D and actual projects.
