Ethereum's ecosystem is expanding so rapidly that I doubt it will be replaced by another smart contract competitor
It's like Microsoft... they've had the advantage because they were the first who offered a personalized computer to the public
Apple, the competitor, might have released a better product but they still haven't catched up to Microsoft even after so many years
That's because of "adoption", people being used to the Windows Operating System rather than Apple's OS
By creating a "unique" programming language (Solidity), Ethereum is basically trying to do the same, get people used to creating contracts with Solidity
Tezos, a competitor, has introduced another programming language, Ocamel, with the same objective
Everyong is trying to differentiate in a way, but Ethereum will always have the first-mover advantage

In the future you will get a fine for not flushing the toilet
By that time we'll have some "official" virtual ID linking all our finances and personal information to the government's database
Upon entering a public restroom, cameras will accurately ID you (they'll identify your physical characteristics, something called "biometrics") and respectively charge your wallet/account a small fee.. for not flushing the toilet
I'd imagine by that time flushing would get automated everywhere, but you get the idea.. same can be applied to: crossing red lights, littering etc.
Welcome to the future

you have to keep in mind what makes a coin valuable
If the coin has no value (zero), it doesn't matter whether there are a trilion coins or only one coin
|
|
|
there isn't anyone who can answer that question with certainty
markets can't be predicted, you can only make assumptions
since the market has been bearish the last three weeks, we can assume that the downtrend will continue

the team didn't implement best practices during the ICO
There are security "guidelines" that have to be followed and they simply ignored them during the ICO
If they didn't have the know-how they should have entrusted a third party to complete the sale
|
|
|
it's a volatile market
Why haven't you made a post three weeks ago asking "Why is everything green again", that would have made more sense
If you want more green take a gabbage and throw it on your screen

Exodus is an evolving project and they are adopting/rejecting coins based on public interest
On the other hand, why are people trashing dogecoin..dogecoin is such a good doge, why would anyone hurt doge - doge has heart too you know
|
|
|
as Bitcoin and many other currencies, volatility is part of the market
It's not unusual for Bitcoin to lose 30-40% of it's value in a month, why should it be for ETH
If you are looking for safe bets buy the S&P 500

the website looks great!
A recommendation would be to order the upcoming ICO's by date (earliest ICO launch to latest), viewers will know therefore the launch date chronologically and won't be confused
|
|
|
the team didn't implement best practices when the ICO launched, which resulted in this
They have already taken responsibility for it, but that's nearly not enough for anyone who lost real money
Even if they compensate the participants with tokens, they will be virtually worthless as there is to capital to back em' up

have a look at SALT https://www.saltlending.com/They are essentially doing the opposite of what you're asking for, you give them your crypto's as collateral and they lend you cash at competitive rates What do you want the crypto's for? If it's for trading your best bet would be to join an exchange and trade with leverage (you are basically lending/borrowing crypto's to incrase the value of your trades) WhaleClub offers such a service https://whaleclub.co/

considering the massive partnerships XRP has, if I had the option between the two, I'd go for XRP
its value is driven mainly by Japanese investors who have a higher trust in Banks (which XRP partners with) in comparison to other nations, and I think that's a good thing
|
|
|
It's all good. If some people want to believe in the project, let them believe in it and invest
If you from the other side aren't happy with it, stay out of it.. nothin' to gain, nothin' to lose

Hello I was wondering if someone can explain me why I can't see the same transactions in https://etcchain.com/exploreras in http://gastracker.io/When I insert my address, "gastracker" shows the correct balance/no. of transactions but "etcchain" doesn't display the last transaction which was executed about four days ago (four days is a long time, right?) To summarize my question: Can different explorers show different data, if they are both dedicated to the same asset (ETC in this case)? If yes, why? Can it be that one of them is not "synched" properly? Thank you for the feedback

Please don't forget to recalculate in the final sheet the translation payout amounts (as was stated above) As it is now only the Russian (8709 payout) and Italian (2443) thread translations (11,152 payout in total) make up 55.76%* of the entire translation bounty! Which means more than half of the entire translation bounty will go to two threads, against a total of about twenty thread submissions, that's insane Please even this out, I think the Russian and Italian threads do deserve more since their threads were more active, but 55.76% of the entire translation bounty is over the top *((20000-11152)/((20000+11152)/2))*100 = 55.76

Things are very exciting in my opinion
There are many projects trying to replicate Bancor's concept (decentralize/autonomous exchange)
At the moment Bancor is by far the most developed and has the pioneer/first-mover advantage, but there is only one shot to get this right
In my opinion the biggest advantage of a decentralized exchange is that people can quickly visit the site, exchange their token for whatever and leave (without logging in, submitting personal info etc.)
I hope the Bancor team is considering "splitting" their product/service in two parts
1. A "Shapeshift" like portal for anyone to quickly make their exchanges 2. The Bancor App for anyone who wants to store or issue their own currency, ICO etc.
If these two services will not be offered separately (having to log-in the Bancor network for example to execute an exchange) people will most likely shy away and find a more faster/convenient way to exchange their cryptos (0x)
