1405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CGMiner Automation in Windows on: May 14, 2013, 01:49:45 AM
Are you sure you "have not seen a good guide"?

There is a reason for google and the search button, personally I have seen more then 20 posts ++++++ about the same "Guide" you just made.

The contents of your "guide" is just copypasta, its not even close to automation, more like one click starting script, with automation, u dont need to do anything other then power up your computer

You want some sort of real automation? Do this, create a shortcut to the bat file, navigate to startup folder

Code:
C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

or type
Code:
shell:startup
in Run when pressing Windows Button

Copy the shortcut into the folder and when windows run, it will run your bat file and start mining.

If it was something I couldn't do myself I would def. be a customer.  I am a strong supporter of Litecoin but even I only have 1 legitimate reason (not including "cool factor") vanity address in use at the moment.  I'm willing to bet that there are some people out there that are unaware that vanity address creation exists for LTC, so if you haven't already, your might want to take your OP to the Litecoin forums.

I would gladly bring my service to the litecoin forum but im afraid that no one will care as I do not have a forum account there and if I make one now I will have little to no credability at all  Sad

1410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [YAC] Illustrated, step-by-step guide to starting your own AWS YAC server farm! on: May 13, 2013, 10:58:16 AM
Or in other words, when ive started mining on one SSH session can I close it down, or do I need to have 4 SSH clients running?

Just to add to this guide, if anyone tried this, you would have noticed that when you are mining , if you close the ssh session, when you ssh back in, u realise that the mining stops, the solution :

Use tmux, it allows you to continue mining even if ssh is off.

Before you type in the mining code type this

Code:
tmux

You should see a windows with a green line at the bottom of your ssh window

Proceed to type your normal mining code

If you want to close your ssh session, press the following keyboard keys

CRTL-B followed by D

You should see the green bottom bar disappear, do not worry, your mining is still running in the back end

now close your ssh session

When you ssh back in, type the following to reopen the tmux window that is still running your mining

Code:
tmux attach -t 0

RUNNING MINING EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT SSHing IN WILL EAT UP ALOT OF "COMPUTE HOURS", if YOU GET CHARGED ALOT BY AMAZON,  I BEAR NO RESPONSIBILITIES.

Thanks for the announcement. This should be interesting, I've been waiting for a coin that has a block reward based on difficulty. Hope the launch goes smoothly, it seems with the new coins, the launches are getting worse and worse, we could really use a smooth one Smiley

As I understand, the reward is proportional to the hash power? Or is it proportional to the current difficulty?
The difficulty is linearly proportional to the network hashpower, as well as luck / variance, so should be the same?

If difficultly is linearly proportional to network hash power, which means individuals with low hash power wont get anything, individuals with large mining farms will get all the coins, wouldn't that simply suggest that elacoin is bias?

1416  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 13, 2013, 12:49:32 AM
Ok, what would be the string to type in to return a ltc vanity? Is there one?
use -X with the apropriate verison (given in hex)

So just use L in hex?

example in linux
Code:
./vanitygen -X 48 LTC

Just make sure pattern is valid

How did you come up with that number 48? I need to know so I can generate addresses for other alt coins. What is the 48 in reference to? I attempted those flags on Windows and it didn't work.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_address_prefixes

OK. So i attempted using the -X 48 flag and for the prefix I did Light and it just showed the help list of the tags. I'm using oclvanitygen. It isn't working.

It works, u just entered either invalid pattern or in the wrong sequence, so sad as if i helped u you would probably use it for your site, and no one will use my service at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202826.0 to let me earn small income

So, after what seems to be hope when i posted on page 3 of this thread turned into yet another fk*** bullshit coin.

1. You didnt even bother changing your github directory, still has /yac obviously u simply cloned yac code which cloned blah blah blah.

2. Someone mentioned u saying coin released on your website and said you were premining, u promptly removed all traces from your site leaving a index page.

3. I asked why u left an index page only, you mentioned you are recoding it, turns out you copied from novacoin.org

4. Editing a few strings in the source code and announcing a new coin.
