The deflationary nature of Bitcoin will make people save and invest their money more wisely.

1406  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm giving away Bitcoin with this Christmas Card on: December 20, 2013, 02:44:05 AM
I really like it. I agree that some pictures on the inside might make it more visually appealing, but it's a nice card nonetheless. I think the cover is perfect!
1407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best rig to build for $160? on: December 20, 2013, 12:23:28 AM
I'm on my second GPU mining rig after I sold my first one. I paid $90 for my HD 6950 and it mined me close to 0.5 BTC before I resold it. My current setup is making about .005 BTC per day not bad. The HD 5850 is the best bang for the buck and gets 340+ KH/s overclock. Mine isn't even overclocked and is getting 306 KH/s easy.

1411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on Local Bitcoins on: December 19, 2013, 09:46:31 PM
Local Bitcoins is a good site to buy and sell Bitcoins. Find members with trusted feedback and successful trades to do business with. They also have a referral program which will give you some nice bonuses for spreading the word.

1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: December 19, 2013, 03:23:50 PM
Can't access the site from Firefox with the following error:

Code:
Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.multipool.us. The OCSP server has no status for the certificate. (Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert)

Since the website redirects to https://www.multipool.us it would appear is though their SSL secure certificate is expired or down for some reason.
1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT a investment on: December 19, 2013, 10:03:55 AM
IMO, Bitcoin is not a Currency, but is a Digital Commodity that people want to own. Bitcoin is no more a currency than Pogs or Beanie Babies are currencies.

And since people invest their money into Bitcoin with the hopes of turning a profit through Appreciation, I would consider Bitcoin an investment as well.
1416  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Tips for Miners on: December 18, 2013, 11:05:37 PM
You can also rotate between Solo mining and Pools.
1417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best rig to build for $160? on: December 18, 2013, 04:58:19 PM
Honestly, I would buy an HD Radeon 5850 MSI Twin Frozr for like $100 or cheaper if you can find it used. Then you can start mining Alt coins and even Bitcoins. PM me for some good mining pools. With a GPU mining rig, you can resell the graphics card for more than you bought it for a lot of times.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot funtion in its current version as a currency on: December 18, 2013, 04:55:24 PM
But Bitcoin IS functioning is a tool for bartering products and services. Pink slips and Title deeds serve a similar purpose. With Bitcoin, the value is in the infrastructure and the computer hardware required for running it. With it's open source nature, all of the users know that the game is FAIR.

With fiat... our own government can't even regulate the FED.

1420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can't believe we're back to where we were a month ago! on: December 18, 2013, 04:50:45 PM
It's not surprising if you look at Bitcoin's price history. Several times this has happened and will probably happen again. If you've learned anything through this fiasco it's not to buy when speculation is running high.
