1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin 0.8.7.0 Released - The NeoScrypt Update - Hardfork block 432,000 on: November 07, 2014, 12:25:53 PM

I've been making SGMiner releases long before SG5 was a thought in anyone's mind. People trust me, especially because I sign shit with the same GPG key I use for bitcoin OTC. If you don't - fine. But until you have actual evidence of malware - hint: you will find none - quit with the bullshit.

If you cannot handle my simple questions and findings, then maybe you shouldn't be allowing others to examine or make use of your work.

You may know it is safe but the general public does not. Do you see how this "trust me or gtfo" mentality does nothing but stunt/slow Feathercoin's (and neoS mining) progress ?

Or maybe.. that is exactly what the crypto "elite" want. eg. limit/slow the competition's growth (thus why you borked solo mining neoS at the kernal level Shocked )

1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: November 06, 2014, 08:55:21 PM
We added NeoScrypt algo to NiceHash/WestHash. Sellers, make sure to use latest Sgminer 5.0 develop version, since cgminer-neoscrypt 3.7.8 has extranonce bug (you will only receive "Share above target" with cgminer-neoscrypt 3.7.8 on our stratum servers)!

Sgminer 5.0 develop source: https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer/tree/develop

Sgminer 5.0 develop windows binaries: http://cryptomining-blog.com/3735-new-sgminer-5-development-version-with-neoscrypt-support/

BTW: it took as a bit longer to implement proper validator because we were testing on cgminer-neoscrypt 3.7.8 and only today figured out that the issue is with the extranonce bug in cgminer-neoscrypt 3.7.8 ... we really don't understand why they even used such an old buggy version of cgminer for neoscrypt implementation ... bwah!

MultiAlgo users : either update to Sgminer 5.0 develop or disable NeoScrypt factor until you update to this miner. You can disable a particular algorithm by setting f8=0 .... for example f0=1;f2=0.5;f3=4;f4=3;f5=500;f6=3.5;f7=16;f8=0 ... more info on https://www.nicehash.com/multialgo/#finetuning (of course, since NeoScrypt is very profitable, we suggest you to upgrade to latest Sgminer 5.0 develop as soon as possible).

Here are some key settings for Sgminer (of course, your mileage may vary):

Code:
"xintensity" : "64",
"worksize" : "32",
"kernel" : "neoscrypt",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",

Why is solo mining still not possible with this new sgminer ?

how do i check if they are doing merged mining?
it there any way to check this

We must do what our royal spellchecker, KINGcolex, advised us to do.

Update:

Tried using the sgminer version posted earlier, same results as with cgminer.

http://img.techpowerup.org/141105/sgminer.jpg

Looks like I am stuck in the land of 140 Khash for now. Sad

Tbh, I'm finding it quite peculiar that my 140 khash noob's config is the best we have for 3.7.7b. And how the only alternative is Wolf0's blacklisted site with it's nsfw .pngs and promises of higher hashrates (on a client that can't or won't solo mine), seeminly designed to lure people to said site.

Ah, nothing like a dramatic conspiracy theory...

"biggest and longest running scam"...  Roll Eyes

If only it were that simple.

But I'm sure in your world, the crypto community's ruling class are respected and reknowned for their ethical and fair treatment of it's members.

This has the potential to become the biggest and longest running scam, dwarfing GOX and/or BFL.
No, No it doesn't.

Elaborate or plzzz stfu.  Kiss

Btw, its not just the coins with the bigger hashrates merge mining the small ones. This works both ways. Shocked
Okay so lets use some logic here and not be a rude IDIOT, GOX had a 116,000,000$ scandal and BFL 25,000,000$ scandal.
So lets do some math here, Namecoin has a market cap of: $ 8,786,388 , PPC coin has a market cap of $ 17,192,578Devcoin has a market cap of $ 228,186, Terracoin is $ 155,887 , IXcoin is $ 831,863 and Freicoin is $ 112,265 .

So lets add these up and get a total of : $27,307,167
That is the MARKET CAP of ALL THE Merge Minable Sha coins, now that is around 25% of the gox scandal and just barely over the BFL scandal if they somehow were able to mergemine every single coin of all the markets and get away with it.

So lets go over some things:
1. It's not happening
2.Even if everycoin was mergemined and stolen it would be 25% of the scandal of gox
3.There are audits and ways to tell
4.learn how to spell the word "please" and do some research.

1. You sound confident. Prove it.
2. You are not taking all of the scrypt, x11 ect coins into consideration. How much was dumped when those coins peaked during the bubble last year ? The final numbers may never be known.
3. See 1.
4. Fuck the genocidal inbred queen's english. Pretty plzzz ? Roll Eyes

I know.

I'm wondering if the hardware configs, namely the system ram and its timings, could be affecting the gpu's performance.

i highly doubt memory timeing could affect cpu preformance. best way to find out thou is to make changes and run the miner and see if it has any affect on hash rates.

Ohh.. I see..  I must change the settings AND run the miner. And here I thought that the bubble screensaver meant that it was working. Roll Eyes

Seriously now, I have made no mention regarding the cpu's performance. Are we reading the same posts ? lolz

1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CleverHash asic mining x11 to x15. Is this even possible ? on: November 05, 2014, 12:55:12 PM
We went through this 14-16 months ago with the "scrypt asics are impossible" propaganda/ campaign. All the while, LTC's net hashrate continued to skyrocket.

That 50 mhash user wasn't gpu farm then.. and that 400 mhash x11 user isn't one now !

It is in fact possible to make an X11 ASIC, but no, that 400MH/s user IS probably a GPU farm. I know a guy with enough GPUs to pull several GH/s of X11 - of course, only with my code, but if I can do it, someone else probably can.

Several ghash is believable but 100's ? And that many of them ? I seriously doubt it.

Or maybe.. we should bring merged mining and stratum exploits into the conversation.. Roll Eyes

https://github.com/Crypto-Expert/stratum-mining/issues/313

Who has hundreds of GH/s on X11? One entity?

I first became aware of this last May when .. over at the Logicoin thread..

some unknown holding more than 70% of Hashrate  Huh

I'll guess that its one, or a few, of these giant X11 farms that seem to be getting popular.

Here are two more known stratum bugs, posted on the following page of that same thread.

some unknown holding more than 70% of Hashrate  Huh

http://i60.tinypic.com/2mqpamx.png

i wouldn't worry about that too much. that doesn't mean it's all coming from one pool.

after a little bit of snooping, here's one of the unknown pools http://digger.pw/logi/en.

block halving rapidly approaching. nethash is through the roof.

Thats a good news and also good volume on Poloniex.

cgminer will randomly set the thread concurrency on almost every startup. eg. it chooses 4096 or 8192 or 16384.

I will soon know if the HW error was caused by the 4096 bin in use at the time. Currently running a 16384 bin..

36 hours later I'm averaging 139 khash with only 4 HW errors. Smiley

This is pretty much what I am getting as well, except my settings are slightly different. Also no matter how many times I try to regenerate a new bin file, my install will always pick 8192 for thread concurrency.

Code:
280x -i 13  -w 48  -g 2   GPU clocks 1025/1500

http://img.techpowerup.org/141104/neoscript.jpg

I also have another box, basically identical build to the above (3x 280x cards) that prefers -g 1 instead of the -g 2 shown above, with all the other settings and clocks set the same.

What make/model cpu, mobo and ram are you running ?

My rig: Phenom II x6, Asus SB 990fx, GSkill 9-9-9-24 2T

I just bumped it up to 4 threads and gained 2 kash. WOOT ! Grin
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is your pool merge mining other alts and not telling you ? on: November 05, 2014, 12:11:36 AM
Look for yourself?  You can't merged mine in secret.  There are breadcrumbs present in the primary coinbase to show if you're merged mining at all.  While you can mine multiple and claim you only mine on one, it can be audited if somebody wants to dig into the merged minable coins to see if there are blocks with the parent chain coinbase as part of the auxpow.

Tyvm for this information. Smiley

So how does your everyday noob go about doing this ? lol

speculations not facts (nobody has ever been able to take a photo or anything to prove that and even after 6months, still nothing proving they really exist (buying shares doesn't count  Grin because you have no idea of what you buy, and could be anything even a ponzy scheme  Grin... ) so as far as I am concerned they could be gpu farm with well optimized miner... and this we know it is possible...)

Also this thread is about the technical detail into building one and what kind of hashrate could be expected for one and not about speculating if they exist or not...

I'm not the one asking.. "Is this even possible ?" (see thread title)

and..

<snip>

Also bitcoin algo sha256 is only one algo, here what you are claiming is to be able to make an asic which run 15 algos (well why not... but a few technical details wouldn't hurt), and also how you can run x11,x13 as well as X15 all that from the same chip.

I am sorry that you feel insulted when people ask for technical detail... but I think it is a legitimate question regarding that you asking for a lot of money one year before estimated delivery (and even before R&D).

Thus why I stepped in with a resounding.. "Yes it is !" .. hoping that people will learn from the past for a change.

SHA256 and scrypt asics both garnered millions in preorder sales thanks to the propaganda and hype created by threads very similar to this one. Shocked

After recently learning about LTC pools merge mining DOGE, I couldn't help but wonder ..

How easy would it be for a greedy (insert your coin here) pool operator to mine blocks on any blockchain of his/her choosing ? And not tell you. Shocked

Could this be how so many shitcoins are able to achieve such high hashrates at launch ?

This has the potential to become the biggest and longest running scam, dwarfing GOX and/or BFL.
