1401  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 23, 2023, 01:46:43 PM
Well, that’s where your savings comes in. Unexpected expenses would always pop up after you’ve laid out your budget. Take for example, a business after laying out its plans and budget for the financial year would also allocate space for bad debt. Planning ahead for bad debt from some certain customers would make the reality easier to bear. Unexpected expenses would always come up.
That’s why having some money kept aside in form of savings is important. As after budgeting and all, whenever unexpected expenses pop up, you could beat it cause you’ve got some savings aside.
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: January 23, 2023, 01:26:11 PM
I don't agree with your point, not everyone can build their own business, sometimes it's better for them to work with other people.

In some part of the world like Nigeria, it's better you build your business than working for someone. Working for someone here is like enslaving oneself. They hardly pay good money and anyone that pays too will use all your time and leave you with no time for yourself. Although one may start his/her career working somewhere but it should be a stepping stone. One should try to save and build his own business as time goes on.

Exploitation of employees by employers is a bad practice that sadly occurs everywhere and not just in your country. Owners of business obviously want their start up to grow and succeed, hence would do anything in their power including making employees work more hours with the minimum pay.

Small business owners would have to scrape together every last penny they can to put back into the business. It is not an easy task to start up and run a successful business as the labor market, filled with already established businesses is not exactly a friendly place for startups.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [btc]-cookies on: January 23, 2023, 12:48:59 PM
They look really good. It’s nice to see the bitcoin logo alongside other fiat currencies of the world even if it’s displayed on cookies. Perhaps, the adoption of bitcoin may be coming along faster then we all envisaged. The cookies looks good also. I think this is a good business initiative as it would arouse people’s interest in bitcoin and also draw bitcoin enthusiasts like it did the OP to stop by and then patronize them like OP did. A win win for the business owner, bitcoin and the OP. Everyone’s happy.

I bet there are shops like this that sells various items promoting bitcoin all over but there are but a handful of them.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 22, 2023, 02:08:14 PM
Taking a loan is one thing. Taking a loan to invest in bitcoin is another.
Personally, I dislike taking out loans. I had been a bit wild when I was younger and did a lot of crazy shit. Took out loans to do things I see now were not really worth it. I realized how foolish I had been when I started paying them off.

OP I wouldn’t advise your friend to take out a loan to invest in bitcoin. Trying to invest in bitcoin should not make you to take out a loan. Investments generally are risky and volatile. It is not wise to go into all that with money that is borrowed. You may likely not like the outcome.

For some, taking out loans is real easy. Paying back is what’s difficult. Just like a tube of toothpaste. Easy to come out and difficult to go back in.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to be great? Then be ready to learn. on: January 20, 2023, 11:57:15 AM
Welcome to the forum. I’m sure you would learn a lot about bitcoin on here. The forum is accommodating to everyone and we’re all learning here irrespective of ones rank.
I can relate with your experience cause I also heard about bitcoin much earlier but was very skeptical about it and somewhat ignorant so I stayed away. But having learnt some and knowing what I know now(majority of which was learnt here), I'm now invested in bitcoin. It’s never too late to learn and invest in bitcoin.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 09:59:05 PM
The first half of the game ended with Tottenham leading by 2 goals. All looked bright and rosy for Tottenham to go ahead and take the three points.
Final scores; 4-2. What a performance. 3 goals in 12 minutes!!
Back to their winning ways and now 5 points behind the league leaders.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 09:15:56 PM
2 goals in quick succession. They’ve done the same thing that Tottenham did in the late stages of the first half. Haaland with the second goal. The score line is now 2-2. 2 minutes,10 seconds between the two goals of Manchester City. The coach as well as the fans have gotten their spirits back. After what must have been a stern talking to during the half time, the players came out of the dressing room with fire and rage in their hearts.
The game is now on!!
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 09:04:42 PM
Poor goal keeping and a huge error by the Manchester City goalie caused the first goal and then another poor defending by the defenders to help their opponents net in a second goal. I didn’t expect the score line at half time to be comfortably in favor of Tottenham. They had put some good pressure on the defense of Manchester City. Now can they keep up the pressure in the second half?
They need to step up their game if they want to win the Premier League again this season. They’re currently 8 points behind the leaders Arsenal and would go further back if they lose to Tottenham.
1409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investment in bitcoin should be short term or long term. on: January 19, 2023, 08:29:46 PM
Bitcoin is a potential investment so you must invest in bitcoin for long term. and you must keep your eyes On daily price fluctuations and if you feel by your own Analysis that bitcoin price can crash any time then that time you can sell your bitcoin and wait for dip. but if you think you will get a huge profit from bitcoin in short time if you invest in bitcoin then that would be your stupidity. You have to buy and sell bitcoins as per your need so long time you have to invest on bitcoins only then you will be able to get a big amount of profit from here.

While a lot of people would agree with you on the potentials of bitcoin, I wouldn’t exactly say it’s a must to invest in bitcoin and for the long term. Bitcoin may seem like a favorable investment to you, that doesn’t mean it is to the next person.
Besides, if you’re aiming on holding for the long run, why bother yourself keeping daily check on the fluctuation of its price. Long term holders do not bother their head and heart about the current market price.

OP, investments generally yield more profits, if any after the long run. So choose wisely.
1410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: January 19, 2023, 05:05:03 PM
So my question is:
~ Do people hodl just because others are HODLing?
~ Why do people hodl rather than sell and buy again when low
~ What is your major reason for HODLing and how do your survive the bear market?

In my opinion, Your questions are valid and I particularly liked your topic head. It’s okay to sell your bitcoin.
A whole lot of people, especially newbies on the forum might be swayed by people’s opinions and comments on the need to hold your bitcoin. So I think your questions are important.
Obviously, holding onto your coins in the long run would become very profitable as the market price of bitcoin would only increase in the coming years. But it’s okay to sell or swap your bitcoin for fiat to take care of anything that needs to be taken care of.
1411  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: January 19, 2023, 04:30:37 PM
In my opinion, if we want to become rich people, then we need to own various assets.

Cryptocurrency is an asset for the virtual space.  Currently, the virtual space is gaining global importance.  Not all people can freely travel around the world, but the global Internet is available to everyone.

Fiat currency (banknotes, money in bank accounts, CBDC) is also very important.  Fiat currency is the most liquid asset and can be easily used to buy goods, works and services.

Real estate is capital that can be used to generate income (i.e. for renting out).

By purchasing shares, one can passively participate in the economic activities of enterprises and organizations, receiving income in the form of dividends and an increase in the value of these shares.

Assets could be used to bring in steady income. But most people tend to go and purchase luxury goods which are mostly liabilities as their value decreases over time. Hence, why rich folks tend to acquire and have more assets than liabilities among their portfolios.
Cryptocurrency, rightly being called an asset for the virtual space is gaining more and more attention and popularity and I think the financial freedom it brings is what drives people to acquire cryptocurrencies.

I think real estate investments, if done wisely could actually bring in a lot of return on investments.
1412  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 19, 2023, 01:04:16 PM
Yes it does. To ensure that, one can do side gigs irl or on sites like fivver, participate in bounties here, start a blog or a YouTube channel, learn investing.

There are many ways but above are some off the top of my head.
Actually, right now there is a lot we can do to have a side job, but that depends on ourselves,
there are many platforms that we can use even though we still need to learn them,
what is clear is that achieving financial stability requires hard work and it would be nice to have more than one source of income.

It sure would be nice to have more than one source of income. That way, an individual could afford whatever one needs and can still actually have some savings kept aside for the proverbial rainy day.
There actually may be ways through various platforms to earn some money but that also would warrant some sort of skills to be had. Financial stability does require hard work, a great deal of skills and some high level of formal education to enable one source for a good paying job, get and keep it. Not everyone can get and keep a side job though as it requires a great deal of time and effort.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 19, 2023, 08:39:29 AM
Maguire doesn't seem to be more than just backup for Ten Haag, so he's only being kept at the club just for emergency purposes, I understand that Harry Maguire have been nothing but extremely awful at Man United, but he was and is a better player when representing the England national team, so he might turnout to be just a good defender that he used to be, if he should leave the club.

Ten Haag seemed to have found a better defensive partnership with pairing Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane at the centre back, but it is to be seen if that partnership is better off than one with Linsadro Martinez.

I had wondered why Maguire was chosen to captain the team. Perhaps he has some qualities of a captain I wasn’t aware of. While Maguire may have the ability or capacity to play good football, I don’t think his future career lies at Old Trafford. The last manager seemed intent on giving him a lot of playing time which actually didn’t turn out so well for both the player and the team in general.
Ten Hag on the other hand, had identified the weak link in the form of Maguire and has cut his playing time, trying out other options that is seemingly now working out well.

Manchester United could let Maguire go and wouldn’t feel a thing.

A goal from Michael Olise before the match ended not only made Manchester United lose two points, this draw also ended Manchester United winning streak in the premier league. Manchester United showed a different performance against Crystal Palace, even though in the previous match they played well when they beat Manchester City.
Less than optimal results make it doubtful that Manchester United can beat Arsenal for the second time this season, Arsenal performed well in the London Derby and really need a win at the Emirates stadium to get away from Manchester City.
Maybe it doesnt matter how the game ended yesterday. The series of games since Cristiano Ronaldo left is impressive. Winning 7 games in a row and scoring 17 goals, now the draw yesterday, it's okay it almost went well. No one can come close to Arsenal that quickly, but they have fight for 2nd/3rd place in the Premier League. Today City play and I hope they win, like Arsenal in the last days 2:0.

It really doesn’t matter, at least to me on how the game ended yesterday. Manchester United has been really impressive lately and playing great football. I think It’s obvious to everyone that Ronaldo will definitely not be missed at the club. Ten Hag must be proud of his boy’s performance on this pitch. But he shouldn’t rest on his oars as he should continue doing what he’s doing to have secured a lot of wins for the last few games.

Arsenal has also put in some good effort and is being rewarded now as they’re currently comfortable at the top of the league table. There are still games left to play and ever game played is bringing Manchester city which is in second place closer and closer. Although it would be quite difficult to catch up to Arsenal at the top, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Manchester City catching up to them.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 18, 2023, 11:50:14 PM
Finally, Manchester United gets to share points since the beginning beginning of the year. No goal for M. Rashford today and you could see that, he really meaned to score by trying some selfish solo moves but, the Crystal Palace defence were always there to keep him put. De Gea did his best and came up with some great saves but, the S. Olise free kick was one that came without any major challenge from De Gea. It was just shocking as to what a beautiful free kick it was, full of quality from Olise and it took the Manchester United team by surprise.

Even still, Olise didn't celebrate his goal, why was that... He seemed disappointed that the team struggled.
The 90+ minutes came with lots of activities in counter attack from the Crystal Palace and for a minute, they could have gotten yet another goal. Even Casemiro had his chance too but, couldn't get much contact in front of the goal.

Manchester United played so well and just got their victory and 3 pointers snatched away. I had already concluded that it’s a set win for the Red Devils only to have a late equalizer that got them to draw the game and share points. I hope this doesn’t diminish the effort the lads have been putting into winning their last few matches.
De Gea, like always had a lot of beautiful saves. But he could not stop the ball from the wonderfully taken free kick that Palace now used to equalize the match and ended with a draw. Overall, it was a great game, just not the results Manchester United had hoped for
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 18, 2023, 09:43:49 PM
Manchester United is currently leading by a goal. It’s about 82 minutes into the game and things are looking good for Manchester United. If only they could score another to give them a comfortable lead ahead. This is football where anything could happen. Manchester United has been in great form lately and are poised to win this match. Seeing the lads play like this gives me hope for the future of Manchester United. Hopefully, they’ll continue to improve on where they’re at to greater heights.
I think the match is getting a bit aggressive as yellow cards are being dished out by the referee. It’s understandable though as both teams want so badly to get the 3 points.
1417  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 18, 2023, 02:18:14 PM

What do you think about these people? Do they have any responsabilities when promoting companies which turned into scam? Should they be held accountable for that? Is it right to profit over your audience's losses? And is there more responsability involved when it's an influent person promoting affiliate links, instead of random crypto enthusiasts sharing their links in social medias?

Personally, I would not at first glance, trust anything an influencer promotes. Most times, a majority of them tend to promote anything that would be profitable to them first irrespective of it’s a legit and a responsible project or not.
Famous individuals could also be hired as influencers as they’ve got a lot of followings on their social media.

They should have some sort of responsibility to their fans and followers who in most cases would gullibly believe whatever the influencer puts out. But selfishness tend to get in the way as a whole lot of  influencers would promote anything for a quick buck.

Influencers aren’t knowledgeable in all things and in some cases aren’t knowledgeable at all in whatever they’re actively trying to sell to their viewers. Influencers aren’t a recommended source of investment opportunities.

Yes, I quite agree with you on this. Manchester City will definitely not be playing under pressure at their game with Tottenham. Manchester City under Pep, has always been playing beautifully and tirelessly till the end of any game. They play with so much composure that I doubt they would be easily rattled by an opponent.
They certainly do bounce back from any bad spell they may face and I think they still have a good chance of catching up to Arsenal at the top of the league table. I have little doubt that they would come out victorious.
It would be funny if they played under pressure, especially with the defeat they received last week, that's no reason that they will be under pressure in this match.
Manchester City is still Manchester City, regardless they are a strong club with all the star players.
Pep just needs to get back to winning ways in this match and 3 points is a set price for now especially I think with the defeat in the previous derby they will be more motivated now.

Manchester City in my opinion, would not be playing under pressure. I don’t think they could be pressured. One thing is for sure, they would be playing with more zeal and the only pressure they would be under is the pressure to score a lot of goals to solidly their win.
The defeat they had received would only give them more resolve going into this match. Pep could very well turn things around for the club as he has done over and over again. Manchester City is no doubt a strong club with amazing players. Thy shouldn’t be underestimated
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 17, 2023, 08:11:36 PM
Manchester City will definitely be under pressure in their Tottenham match. The gap has already become eight points with the leader Arsenal. In fact Manchester City have the best squad in the league that can deal with such bad time periods. Guardiola needs to find a way to motivate his players for the league championship again. They need to regain their mental strength at the beginning of the season. I know that their main goal is to win the Champions League title as they still haven't. But they can't just throw their PL championship chance this easy.

Besides I remember a much worse time of Manchester City in the past and their incredible comeback for the title as well.

On the contrary, i think Manchester city will not be on so much pressure against Tottenham, instead Conte and his boys will be the one playing with immense pressure considering their poor form since the league restarted. Pep team always bounce back after a bad spell and i am looking forward to the boys bouncing back to form against Spurs (who are also lacklustre in front of goals).

Yes, I quite agree with you on this. Manchester City will definitely not be playing under pressure at their game with Tottenham. Manchester City under Pep, has always been playing beautifully and tirelessly till the end of any game. They play with so much composure that I doubt they would be easily rattled by an opponent.

1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 17, 2023, 08:00:23 PM
Klopp should be given a little time to see if he can fix the team back to the normal Liverpool, he is a good coach and has helped the club,it is just that things are not working for him. I don't know if Tue poor performance of the team is from his side or the players side.

It will be a terrible day for Liverpool when they will playing Real Madrid, if they don't buggle up because Real Madrid will score so much goals in the match and this will be a shame to the fans of the club and the club itself, but I don't think that match will be as easy as that. Klopp will try his best to see that his team will be fit for that match.

I think Klopp could very well turn things around in the club. He has proven time and time again to be very capable to deliver on the club expectations. The blame would in most cases, rest on the manager of the club if the players don’t perform according to expectations. Things may not be going as expected for Liverpool at the moment but that’s just football. You win some, you lose some.

It definitely will not be an easy game for Liverpool when they face Real Madrid as Real Madrid is at their top form and play well. Real Madrid is most likely the preferred team to win the game. One thing I know for sure is that I’m not putting my money on Liverpool in this game.
