1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting On US Elections... on: November 08, 2016, 03:18:14 PM
I will bet to Hilary Clinton Cool

Placed $9000 H. Clinton to win... Cool
Well done on winning free money as all the news sites are predicting a crushing victory of Clinton against the guy who doesn't have any clue on how to run a country. I would have bet all I have on Clinton but I only had 2 bitcoin and I played them on her. I am pretty sure of the outcome so I am not worried at all and I am patiently waiting for my 0.8 btc as I have already placed the bet a few days ago when odd was 1.40. Congrats mate on our winnings, yes I am 101% sure who will win this.

Well, im sure you and the rest of people here convinced that Hillary will win, also were sure that the brexit would lose and stay would win...

It's still not 100% clear that Hillary will win. A lot of people secretly support Trump and don't say it in public so we will see. Polls are useless as we saw with brexit.

I was considering gambling 5 BTC or so with a H Clinton win but im not sure since brexit was a lesson learned similar to this scenario...
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: November 08, 2016, 02:47:27 PM
I would not refuse paper money. This is the psychological moment of possession of money or moral pleasure when your wallet full of paper money.
Yeah, paper money should not be rejected no matter what circumstance. Paper money will always be there even if you have the biggest advanmcement in technology because in one way or the other paper money will still be needed.

It did see the history of our world so it is not that easy to make it just disappear. There would be a problem in the financial industry and the most affected will the poor ones or even those who live with the average income. So this is not really good.

Yes it's not easy to get rid of paper money and even that was not possible. Because if the banknote is lost it will affect the country's economy, and the state does not have an identity in terms of finances. Anytime the banknotes will continue to be needed because it includes legal payment tool and easy because we do not need to wait for the transaction.

We are now in a paradigm shift where for the first time in history it's going to be possible to get rid of paper money. In 100 years nobody will ever know what paper money was unless you study it in school. Kids of the future will say "what the hell, people used to carry papers and coins?"

Here is when Bitcoin enters the scene and can become a global currency to fight against government e-currency.
1403  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Prices to Rise or Decline if Hilary Clinton Elected POTUS? on: November 08, 2016, 02:29:18 PM
I think no matter who wins, Bitcoin will pump hard because no matter who gets elected, the situation is going to be pretty unstable for a while, but of course, Trump is our guy when it comes to market instability, this would help us bitcoiners to benefit from a massive pump, so yeah, vote Trump if you want  higher bitcoin price lol.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need a cryptobank solution on: November 08, 2016, 01:22:11 PM
I doubt what you asking for exists (as long as "internet bank does"). Like you said before, you will not be able to create any account where you can deposit USD that is not attached to your name. Unless you want to create an account in some offshores place or something.. you are going to pay the 35% cut. With crypto it would be easy to withdraw, but when dealing with USD it's too hard to avoid the radar. I don't know how offshores stuff works, I have never avoided taxes.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be a law on stolen bitcoins? on: November 08, 2016, 01:08:36 PM
Could there be a law on stolen bitcoins? What if there would be a law punishing those who steal bitcoins and those people behind scam sites? And if so, is it necessary to have such law? I'm just wondering, if there would be such law about stolen bitcoins, it could be a big relief to us bitcoin users. But then, there are so many questions and issues that goes with this ideal that makes me skeptical about it.  Huh Undecided

You can create as many laws as you want, but at the end of the day, the protocol doesn't care.... if someone gets away with it, that's it, it's the end of your bitcoins, and the thefts will never be caught. This does not mean that there shouldn't be laws, there should be laws and people like Karpeles are to be held responsible for the scams, but some people will get away with it since they will never be caught.
1406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-signature cold storage? on: November 08, 2016, 12:57:23 PM
Seems like a good idea, but im not too keen on multi signature to be honest. You have to think that it adds an added layer of stress by having to keep safe a couple different papers and if you miss X amount you might lose access to the coins.

I think it's better to simply make BIP38 encrypted wallet, print several backups and that's it. Generate it offline and so on.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the primary lessons you earn after you gamble? on: November 07, 2016, 06:11:34 PM
We can learn several lessons from gambling, the most important ones to learn is the self control lesson: know when to stop gambling and you will not suffer any fatal loses.
Money management is also a key lesson to learn.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao Vs Vargas on: November 07, 2016, 05:51:00 PM
Its already round 2, Pacman vs Varvas. I am watching on livefeed from facebook. Too bad for Donaire in the undercard, he lost to Magdaleno.  Donaire did his best Smiley My colleagues here are cheering for PacMan ...

Go! Pakyaw... Smiley

That was a close fight between Donaire and Magdaleno. Too bad for Nonito Donaire missed so much opportunity to knock down Magdaleno, it was just in the 12 rounds that he released his aggressiveness to his opponent. Too bad also I lost my bet from that line up. Right now I'm watching the fight on television via satellite between Manny Pacquiao vs Vargas, delay in 30 mins. Hopefully Manny Pacquaio will win via knock out. GO! PACMAN! KNOCK OUT YOUR OPPONENT ON THE CANVAS!

Pacquiao won with a unanimous decision, Feels like you are getting a break even there , Well i guess you bet higher for pacman's fight so that would be an easy profit there.

Glad that Manny Pacquaio won against Jessie Vargas, too bad that he won via unanimous decision I'm expecting for a knock out at round 7 or 8. Yeah, glad that I recovered my lost from the match of Donaire, luckily I break the even so I got some profit from the fight of Pacquaio. Right now still watching their fight via satellite delayed for 30 mins at round 5. Jessie Vargas can't match the speed and the delivery of the hard punches to his body even Manny Pacquiao aged and declined on his prime.

The odds for Manny wins was very low, so you was all in Manny? Manny is the best player, in my heart, he is better than Mayweather

Manny is great and all but I think he was never better than Mayweather. People often accuse Mayweather of not being aggressive enough, I think this was not always the case, back in the day he had it all: super defense and super attack. As he grew older, he adapted and managed to win with perfect defensive game. At the end of the day 49 men tried to win and 0 could.
1409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DECENTRALIZED crypto currency (including Bitcoin) is a delusion (any solutions?) on: November 07, 2016, 05:44:23 PM
Although I won't reveal my proposed improvement in detail now, I will reveal that the solution involves objective "eventual consistency". Satoshi's design suffers from fact that blocks compete with each other instead of being complementary (additive and subtractive in the notion of sets of events). Satoshi's design is analogous to the aliasing error of point samples in a continuous space. I have a radical improvement which is going to entirely change the way everyone thinks about blockchains. This is the Bitcoin killer.

I have been reading your posts from time to time for years now, it sounds interesting and it seems you are a smart guy but im yet to see any software.

When are we going to get anything functional? Because until then Bitcoin is king and no killer is around.

Also would it be a new coin or would it be a BIP?
1410  Economy / Economics / Re: possible government regulations? on: November 07, 2016, 05:38:45 PM
THe regulations will go anywhere from confiscation of bank account linked to bitcoin activity to jail time. We will eventually be under heavy attack by governments, they will not let bitcoin develop like its nothing.
1411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver: Bitcoin Scaling Solution Segwit a “Bait and Switch” on: November 07, 2016, 05:33:39 PM
The Bitcoin Judas cannot get over the fact that open discussion is encouraged, but not if it is done on a forum meant for Bitcoin. During the

Bitcoin XT fiasco, some people wanted to use Bitcointalk.org and /r/Bitcoin on Reddit to hijack the forum to promote Bitcoin XT. This was frown

upon, because it was seen as a competitor Alt coin. So Roger Ver created his own forum to encourage "Open debate".... The reasoning behind that

is a bit flawed, but it turns out that his forum are now used by the competitors {Bitcoin Unlimited} ....So the fight is on, to see who will win the

heart of the Bitcoin community. { Bitcoin Core VS Bitcoin Unlimited }  Wink

"competitors"Huh?

i guess you missed the point that bitcoin should be a diverse decentralized network..
seems you want dictatorship and think core should be the king.. check whos paying the kings ransom.. and see the bait and switch.

and you wonder why there is a debate concerning calling anything not core an alt.

the funny part is bitcoinJ, bitcoin classic, bitcointx bitcoin unlimited, etc,etc all actually run on bitcoins mainnet. and actually want to use the consensus mechanism to upgrade the network of nodes. yet so far core are the ones telling everyone that node consensus is not needed for their own features and to voice hostility to anyone else thats not core using the mainnet, and try to get them to fork off..

wake up and smell the deception. smell the loss of bitcoins ethos every time you call anything "competition"

bitcoinJ and bitcoinXT were thrown aside by the R3CKed propaganda.. yet core devs such as pieter wuille, gmaxwell, etc are paid by.. guess who R3, and other banking groups under the DAH banner

yep the bait and switch happened and now core are trying to get everyone to give 100% dictatorial power to the core devs paid by banks.

wake up

Iti s a competition and it's ok. People can freely run any nodes they want to support any software. Most people run Core nodes because Core devs have demonstrated to be the most competent thus far. It's as simple as that.
1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 07, 2016, 05:20:03 PM
If you stop using bitcoin because government scares you away from using it, then you are responsible of killing bitcoin. People should stay strong, otherwise you are attacking btc as a side effect.
1413  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: November 07, 2016, 05:17:34 PM
By the time we reach 21 million coins in year 2140, I think about 50% of the coins will have been lost forever, if not more. Coins get lost constantly, people forget passes, people lose shit on exchanges, people die and no one can recover coins...
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao Vs Vargas on: November 05, 2016, 03:56:20 PM
If Manny Pacquiao loses this match I think he will retire. He wants to have a good winning streak because he hated losing against Mayweather, so now he wants to get some good wins in a row and then retire. I don't think he will keep fighting into his 40's. It's going to be a great set of fights nontheless. Fighters always push themselves more in their last fights.
1415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This seems massive but no one cares? on: November 05, 2016, 03:26:23 PM
There's big money to be made in the crypto world with apps like this. All it takes is the app going viral and suddendly you are a new millionaire. If something as stupid as snapchat can go viral, I don't see why one of those bitcoin related apps can't eventually become viral too. It's a matter of time.
1416  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: November 05, 2016, 03:18:49 PM
Pper money is already dead. All governments hate it, they hate that people can move money out of their control. Of course, they love doing it themselves, but they don't want people to be able to do it, this is why they will remove cash in the next decades, and install a closed source government coin hell where they have the keys to everything. Hopefully this is when people will wake up to bitcoin and go all in 100%.
1417  Economy / Economics / Re: How would you double $100,000 safely? on: November 05, 2016, 03:06:55 PM
It's hard to say, but if you want to gamble, the us election betting are pretty safe, the possibility of the election being rigged is big, according to Wikileaks Trump cannot win, it's impossible, therefore, just put $100,000 in a Hillary win bet, odds are @ 1.25, that means you get $25,000. Not doubled.. but relative easy amount of money.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SolarCity + Bitcoin mining on: November 05, 2016, 03:02:52 PM
The problem to overcome is the visibility of the panels from an upper distance. Governments will use planes to find out houses using this technology and I predict massive sanction fees will be delivered upon those that install this technology on their roofts without noticing to the government. It sucks but we have no way out unless you want to risk it. Hopefuly in the future we have 100% undetectable panels.
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Llew Claasen: Why the Rest of 2016 Will Bring Even More Growth to Bitcoin on: November 05, 2016, 02:54:06 PM
2016 has only 2 months left, but big things can happen, starting by the election day which can potentially disturb the whole world , markets are unpredictable and that always benefits bitcoin.

Segwit will be enabled by december or early 2018, only idiots aren't supporting it at this point.
1420  Economy / Gambling / Why I can't bet on Trump on Directbet.io? on: November 05, 2016, 02:36:13 PM
https://directbet.eu/Event.cshtml?EventID=27713489

As im looking forward to doing a bet on the US election and im looking at different websites and I found directbet does the US election bet, but if you click on "Donald Trump @ 3.9" you will see that you get this message: "Bet is unavailable. Please select another bet. "

I have been trying to put a Trump win bet on this site for hours and it never works.
