I have had a similar problem when I gamble, the want to bet more despite losing money on a gamble.
I just block the site using a blocker as soon as I am done hitting my goal on the amount wagered on any site. Another thing I would suggest is to block away the rest of your btc for extended hours to not impulsively get that introduced into betting.
Your solution was quite good but also not that easy tho. Because here we are talking about controlling our temper during the game so basically blocking would varies only after winning your desired amount right? How about if we are going to lose I think whether you win or lose money in gambling, you should fix some amount for the day to gamble then it is easy to control your funds otherwise you may overspend due to greediness. If I must be honest I would say that I would not be greedy, I never gambled a lot but if I did it I mostly enjoyed it and it was not for the money at all.
