Lol. Of course ^. What I meant was will you annouce that the reserve has been met? For example, your reserve is 5 BTC and you get a bid if 5.1 BTC with 20 hours to go, will you state the 'coins are now on the market' etc etc. Or will you keep it private until the auction has ended? For me, my bidding style will differ is all. Thanks Ah. Yeah I would announce that the reserve has been met after the action is over. I don't plan to participate in this auction (even though you have nice sets). I just want to say that this is the best way reserves should be handled! . Not too many people do this. Good on you. "Here is a SHA256 hash of the reserve (in the form xx.xxBTC): fd5b716af0f5fdbd2d5ce79ebcb556c2ccde8abb4622c2b58ebd7819451c10d1" While I do like this idea of using a SHA 256 hash to prove what your reserve price is, I think you have given much too much information for it to be kept a secret. Considering that you obviously won't sell for below the face value of the coins (you might as well redeem them if you were willing to do this) and your reserve is at or below your BIN price, and the fact that you have provided the exact format that the reserve price is listed as, there are only 565 possibilities that someone would need to "guess" before figuring out what your reserve is. Someone would only need to convert 01.85BTC to sha256, and when that doesn't match try 01.86BTC and so on until converting it matches the hash you listed in the OP. A more secure way to do this would be to either add a salt or simply say that you have posted the hidden reserve and not disclose the format. At the end of the auction you could disclose that your reserve was "one point seven nine bitcoins!! aka 1.79 BTC " (For example) and someone would be able to easily check to make sure the hash matches the quoted text and the text is clear as to what your reserve is, while it would make it very difficult to brute force your reserve. Hmm...I considered this but I wasn't sure how much/little information to provide. I was going to leave out the format since that gives away a lot of info but I wasn't too phased if my reserve was exposed since this is more of a price test than a proper auction (even though I am willing to sell if it if the highest bid is good enough for me) Thanks for the input though, I will definitely keep a salt or hidden format in consideration for next time.

@miffman - if the bids hit the reserve, will you announce same and that 'they now will be sold'?
I bid 3BTC
Cheers
Yes. The sets are sold if the highest bidder is at or above the reserve. Thanks for your bid.

Bump. Still a few days left on this!
|
|
|
I am also curious to know how this happened.
How did that happen exactly?
: When I made the purchase of the coin escrow was released to the coin address resulting in the coin now having 1.75 BTC total funding.

3 BTC!! I was about to offer 1 BTC just because casascius. I guess my offer of 1 BTC will stand regardless.
|
|
|
Interesting! I'll put an offer of 2.1BTC down anyway, just because it is unique. Also if this takes off then there's gonna be a ton of people overfunding coins

|

Bar received. Great shipping/packing!!! Thanks @Blazedout419 + @miffmann You're the first to receive! I hope you enjoy your purchase

Hmm...tell you what. I'm gonna close this thread and I'll open a new thread tomorrow morning with a hidden reserve for the sets combined. If I don't get my reserve price, I will either make an offer to the highest bidder or open a new thread for each individual set.
Sorry for all the confusion.

>PLEASE NOTE! The winner will not necessarily win the sets at his final bid. This auction is to test the market price. There is a chance however that I may accept the offer or counter-offer outside of this thread.
what is your reserve price? Why don't you just start the auction at the face value of the coins and you should get a pretty decent price if you end the auction at a good time. I think the high price that will probably accompany the entire set means that fewer people will be able to afford it so it might help you get a higher price if you sell the coins separately. I realized after I made this post that I probably could have just had some hidden reserve. I didn't want to make another thread since I already closed 2 of the same threads yesterday and it would seem like I'm just spamming. I'm just interested in what the highest bidder would pay and I'll take things from there. I am willing to split the BTC and LTC sets but I'm not going to split up sets into its individual coins. I think that the set as a whole would be valued more than the sum of the individual coins since sets are significantly more rare. Assuming all the coins are funded and they do not have any "buyer funded" then I bid 1.95 BTC
Where are you shipping from?
I ship from South Africa. Thanks for your bid.

I saw that someone is selling another lealana set (non graded) for 4.5 BTC. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1039938.0Please note that if I match that price, you are getting the LTC set for 1.3 BTC! (5.8 BTC-4.5 BTC) If you can find a cheaper set I will adjust my price.

These coins are part of the very very few that were funded my smoothie himself! I personally haven't seen some lealana coins with COA's for sale for a very very long time. Something like under 80 bitcoin sets were made and even less litecoin sets. (Please let me know on the actual stats, but I know it's not far)
