14002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ecological problem on: July 15, 2014, 07:41:44 AM
Hello everyone! I'm trying to learn more about BTC and as I understand, it constantly needs an energy for mining, which sounds not so much ecologically. It's getting popular, so more miners - more energy, right? Is there any ways to reduce this harmful effect? Or maybe create an eco-friendly version of BTC?

Power efficiency get's better and better.  (granted difficulty grows).  But each next generation trys to be more efficient.

There is more eco-friendly versions of how to get the electricity though.  A example is a friend of mine who is working with hosting with some hydro-electric power https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=694297.0

So yes solar, water, wind source of power can provide a more "eco-friendly" option.
14003  Other / Archival / Re: [help] how to get 1 btc in 1 week on: July 15, 2014, 07:36:28 AM
Another way to ask your question is how can I get 460 Euro by next week? Well, you can buy them with dollars or sell something or work for money. It's money. So forget about the bitcoin part. How do you get money now?
i invested all the 11 $ on these site : http://golden-cows.com/en/?i=7482

and i'm waiting to see how it work
You probably won't get it back, this was the worst option  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the spirit Sad

i already made a donation site for Gaza : http://gazadonation.wordpress.com/?p=2&preview=true
Wait, so now you are claiming this: "We’re working to help 1.2 million Palestinian refugees in Gaza rebuild their lives following the violence"
But you need 600$ for yourself? WTF dude.

yes i'm working to help my family on GAZA, i wrote before that i need the money for treatment
Treatment of what?

Treatment of wanting get rich quick scheme.

There is no "free" money.  You can do faucets, etc.  But if you really need a bitcoin mining or buying is best options.
14004  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Maybe this is offtopic but why do people even post about mining anymore? on: July 15, 2014, 07:32:31 AM
Care to share the 6btc just kidding

I just don't see the point of even talking about mining, I guess if I investigated more into the different algos and what not and see what my computer could handle I would mine altcoin and the likes but really is it even worth it?

Worth it depends on what you want out it.  Some people tinker with hardware that never makes them money but it's fun for them.  For other people they need to spend $100 going skiing or $1500 just on a flight to have fun.

If you're looking to make a profit there is a slim chance a basic computer can mine some future well supported coin - most everybody who mined Bitcoin in 2009 mined at a "loss".

Post your hardware specs and your electricity rate.  CPU, memory, GPU, Power supply.

Well I don't pay for electricity, I'm staying with my mom while she battles cancer. I help with the bill but she doesn't let me "dabble in her business" (ie bills), but uh

I have a Dell
It's got 6 gb of ram, intel 4000 hd graphics (that's what sucks the most) running windows 7 and it's an i3.

It's seriously the worst computer, I can't even run games on it. I don't know why people are selling computers like this now claiming they are the "next best thing" it's like a mid level almost there computer that sucks.

Your mom is paying electricity It's not free.  Sadly the specs you mentioned not worth the electricity to mine.

Best thing to do, Is what you are doing (letting people know)

Not a nice feeling  Undecided

Nigma = cooldgamer .  Bad deal to get scammed hes a good guy.
14012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it take to reach 1 BTC in 2014? on: July 14, 2014, 05:48:59 AM
It's almost insulting that it's impossible to break even on bitcoin now actually, if we want world wide adoption to bitcoin why make it so impossible to obtain one? Why doesn't somebody start something that gives little bits (faucets immediate answer I know) of bitcoin but just enough to get people interested enough they don't lose sight of it?

I'm just relaying my own story but when I thought mining was actually profitable in 2011 and bitcoin was $14 a pop and I really didn't have the money to just go buy one, I could have used a faucet or something would have helped me out with that, I would have gone out and told all of my friends about bitcoin, maybe sound like a stark raving lunatic but still, I would have gone out of my way to show people this currency and the many others out there.

Now I'm even skeptical to mention it to anyone, even my ex thinks I'm crazy for wanting to invest in it.

If these little bit's (faucets) payed 1 BTC there would be huge inflation.... bitcoin is being adopted by more and more sites.  Future looks good.  But buying and mining are ways to get it.  Don't expect a faucet to make you rich, or for there to be a get rich quick scheme.

It's not so much a get rich scheme for me, it's more so securing a future. For all I know the price of bitcoin could drop significantly tomorrow or the next day or a month from now and I would have nothing to show for it, or it could bounce back up and I'd have some security.

That's what it's all about for me, I know that sounds ridiculous but with my current financial situation I would like to have some kind of back up and security since it's really the only income I have coming to me.

Never risk more then you are willing to lose on any investment.  For all we know on stocks, most investments they all can have dramatic effects.

If you want security get a savings account, but you will see with no up or down the little amount of interest you get.

If you hold bitcoins I think most on this forum see a bright future, more websites accepting them every day.
14013  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spot Cooling? Antminer Farm on: July 14, 2014, 05:44:13 AM
A lot depends on amount of miners you have and which miners.  Also you might look into exhaust.  Moving air in and out in bigger operations is good.  I HIGHLY suggest not using that five gallon cooler.   Water around miners sounds like a horrible idea if something goes wrong.
14014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin production on: July 14, 2014, 05:38:05 AM
A lot of coin's do this.  It is good for coins value.
14015  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to mine using my laptop on: July 13, 2014, 09:56:21 PM
What specs your laptop has? Especially what graphics card? I found that new laptops are very power efficient, quiet and therefore better for mining than desktops. My laptop with AMD 8850 hardly reaches 61-62 degrees mining and one with Nvidia 840M does not pass 64. Both can mine close to 1Mh/s with X11 algo. Yes, I agree that there is no point buying laptop for mining and expecting ROI, but when one already has it, why not mining with? Look around and read about mining software capable of mining X11, X15 or cryptonight coins, who knows, maybe You will mine thousands of coins that will jump in value thousands times over next couple of years.

The reason would be wear/tear.  24/7 laptop mining is not good on it no matter how you justify it.

And hat doe not bring in cooling/electricity vs amount earned.

To truly mine you need to get decent miner and have cheap electricity, or good hosting.   Some still do gpu mine.... but for me it was no longer profitable moved onto next generation machines.

If your talking about one normal computer like I think you are your chances at mining being more profitable then electric/cooling are slim.

14018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tutorial help on backing up wallet.dat?? on: July 13, 2014, 05:10:37 AM
You can just make a dropbox account and just backup your wallet.dat file there!  Smiley
There is still a noticeable amount of security risk there. If dropbox gets hacked, your wallet would also be hacked. If you cannot remember the password, your wallet.dat would be lost forever.

No mater what encrypt it.

You will notice Kaspersky is often free after rebate..... personally i think there is a reason for this.
14020  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Question about usb port erupter[im new] on: July 13, 2014, 05:02:41 AM
I rather buy a direct 1Ths machine but darn heavy!

Can always get one hosted.   But USB miners as mentioned are not really for anything but fun.  Can get a lot more power for your dollar by buying a true miner.
