I think that he wanted to say that some SEO magic could make that "thing" not be so visible on Google results (like adding more pages in front of that). However, I attempted a few Google requests and that "paper" was not on the first page, so it really matters what are you searching for (and the keywords LawBC used could be a helpful example).

Has SegWit finally been signaled?
You can check https://coin.dance/blocks from time to time. Now it shows 34.1% for SegWit. Pretty far from 95%. Pretty funny that "It's on the borderline" statement. Maybe that's for Litecoin

I don't know if this will be of any help, but you never know. I used long ago Multibit Classic. With that one, if you exported the private key with password protection, it created a file with 2 lines. This string looks pretty similar with the first line in that file. So this may be indeed your private key, but my guess is that it's password protected. And you forgot that password, I've read..

2) Get Paid antivirus like ESET 3) Have brain
Even free solutions like Comodo would do if you have the nerve for it, since it will run in sandbox everything "untrusted". Brain and nerves are necessary to check what's blocked and unblock the apps you really use and need and also remove the apps that should not be there / run.

can anybody help me speed this up? I just read somewhere in this forum that some people can actually do that. Im sorry, this is really frustrating. There are users that can indeed do this for you. But since ViaBTC free accelerator is full now, the only remaining options are not free. And you said that you have no funds. Read again the list mocacinno has made for you, maybe you can do any of those - although all need bigger fee or some funds in a way or another. The only remaining option (also in that list) is again ViaBTC. Try your best there until you it accepts your transaction. Edit: I think that you'll have to wait though until they mine the next block..

Really silent the last few weeks here. Is there still developement going on?
Yes, we're still hard at work, 25 days to go. Also, one of the most important factors for community adoption is our marketing strategy so we're currently plotting out the direction we will take before implementing. The countdown on the site shows more than 29 days if I got it right. I'd advise you to use something more "normal", since not many will divide by 86400 to get the number of days.. Even widgetic can have timers that show better than just seconds...

Pretty more interesting after you calculated NeuroticFish their automated bets. Me too still confusing how does my automated bet came up to 100%+ or more but in profit it's negative. Anyways i know now how to calculate what's the meaning of the luck hehehe
I felt bad for not knowing something so simple, but you made me feel better: I guess that we all learned something. For example I somehow thought that the house edge will be calculated together with the losing bets on the losing side. But yeah, it all makes sense if you know how to read those numbers.

Hm. Is this normal? I am fooling around with automated betting and I just noticed this:
Won 1139, Lost 1158 Profit -0.00000057 Luck 100.17%
Shouldn't luck be under 100% in this case?
Maybe I don't know how to read the numbers, but it looked strange.
1139 + 1158 = 2297 bets If you bet on 2x odds, it's 49.5% chance to win: 2297 * 0.495 = 1137 bets expected to win So your "luck": 1139 / 1137 * 100% = 100.175901495 % So you won more than expected based on house edge (= positive luck stat), but didn't have enough luck to get a positive edge yourself (= still more losses than wins.) Interesting, thank you very much. I've learned something new today

So how is possible that POLONIEX trade 300.000 BTC a day and has only 4700 BTC on his wallet?
OP, please delete, lock, or throw this thread into oblivion. Even if I don't like much Polo lately and it may have troubles, your theory is completely wrong. 1. Trading doesn't mean buying. It can be traded in any direction. 2. Trading on Bitcoin market means the sum of bitcoin and altcoin trades. And, although it would be useless (see point 1) you didn't add the altcoin wallets to the sum. 3. You totally missed the cold wallets which any smart exchange would use on a large scale. So again, bury this thread, you just scare the less experienced people away from trading.

Interesting read. However, since the claimed virus started mining XMR, while the hackers are dumping XMR to the market, the price increases instead of decrease? Really? Although such scenarios are possible, even bedtime stories don't have such big inconsistencies...

How do you even know those addresses? Also, aren't like 200,000 computers infected already? in my evil mind, if I was a smart hacker, I would use a different address per computer.
I would do the same. But for some reasons the hackers seem to use only a handful of Bitcoin addresses. Maybe they don't even care who pays and who doesn't (did you hear of successful data recover after this ransomware, after paying the price?). Or maybe they don't know enough about Bitcoin?

Viabtc now also offers a paid accelerator service in addition to its free one. You have to email support@viabtc.com to use it, and it costs 0.01BTC for each transaction. It's explained at the bottom of the free accelerator page. Good to know, thank you. They could advertise it better, most people will not scroll down to read that, which is a shame, since it's an useful future and it's not a great business either Edit: OP tx is confirmed for some time, we should leave this thread die.

So everybody got a bunch of free RXD? what does WAVES have to do with anything?
Yes, the ones that correctly applied, got some free tokens, me included (thanks dev) This is a token, not really a coin. It doesn't have its own blockchain. This token was built on the WAVES platform and needs WAVES platform to keep it alive. Now the received tokens are visible in the WAVES wallet and I think that they can be traded in the WAVES Decentralized exchange (DEX) which is, again, inside the WAVES wallet.

Signing a message is the same as re-using an address, Byteball might be an attempt, not really hacking but just an attempt to test some methods?
I doubt that Byteball has such target, but yeah, it's an opinion. CLAM was a coin that did a similar airdrop, based on Dogecoin addresses back then. I feel like Byteball just tried to copy a successful airdrop (and even make it better). However I looked up most addresses with transactions and it seems that almost 50% of the large (>100 BTC addresses) all have re-used BTC addresses.
Many do reuse BTC addresses. Many have started with wallets like Multibit (Classic) and just imported their address into something else (Electrum), I expect many to work with few addresses to have strict control on their private keys in case of wallet failure. There are some that use vanity addresses. All these reuse their address. If theft would start to happen, people will start crying loud! So for now I'd say that we are still safe. So if ECDSA is ever cracked wouldn't it mean the end of Bitcoin ? If bitcoin goes to $0 due to this huge flaw along with most alt-coins then it doesn't seem like NOT re-using your addresses would make a difference.
I find Cryptonote coins safer than Bitcoin clones in this matter. But right now it's like living in Kentucky and fearing of a tsunami, even thinking on moving to Tibet. Overkill... Also aren't many products such as Sony Playstation also using this same type of ECDSA?
I don't know which products use ECDSA - I know that some digital signatures do - but yes, Bitcoin will clearly not be the only one affected..

If you were in a hurry you should have paid more than the required fee. Now the required is 199 sat/byte and I doubt that it was under 120 when you sent the transaction. You used 116.
ViaBTC accelerator is full, so you have to use btc.com (expensive, AliPay) or ask certain users (for a fee) - from what I've read Quickseller is one of them.

And obviously, if you suspect your account was compromised, you would want to change its password to prevent further access by anyone who has the password.
I did that right after I noticed strange activity. Are you sure? From what I see your password was not changed recently. And this doesn't look good for your credibility.... PS. When you'll actually change your password, changing your e-mail password would be also a good idea.

Are you sure address 3 had 6.5235 btc in it at that time? I am seeing only 5.50119801 in it at this time. 🙃
Maybe some transactions got double spent / dropped? Although who the heck would pay ransomware from the start when they know to double spend?!
|
|
|
If it was $20 instead, I would probably pay it anyway, but there's really no point.
Yes, that's why they don't really target individuals. But if they've found a couple of sloppy companies, jackpot! There have to be more than 3 addresses. And it's Saturday, many companies cannot access their money until the banks open Monday. Only then we'll see how big the damage is...
