14061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in your country on: May 13, 2015, 09:52:18 AM
Due to the nature of my work, I travel all over the world. I have not found one country, apart from the UK, where people actively use Bitcoin. Sure they have heard about it, but they not using it. Most of the time, they only heard the bad news, so they scared to use it. The biggest concern - Hacking. ^sniff sniff

I do not get it, is SpectroCoin a Alt coin? I am more exited about this xxx "vouchers, which can be used for non-digital off chain transactions among people."
Estonia’s central tax authority apply a 23% VAT (value-added tax) to the sale of bitcoins, so their government is getting their tax on the coins and on the pumps.

14064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bit new on: May 12, 2015, 07:49:20 AM
This really belongs in the beginners & Help section over here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0
Do your homework, most of these cloud mining operations are run on a Ponzi type model, so the last people invested, will lose their money. The golden rule : Bitcoin is not a Get Rich Quick Scheme.
14065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin makes banks unnecessary on: May 12, 2015, 07:39:07 AM
In the beginning they created banks to keep money and valuebles safe... Then they saw the opportunity to loan people money, from the money stored by other people, and they charged them interest for doing that. {It's not their money.. they doing it with your money} Then the "stored" money was not enough to cover the need, so the reserve banks started to print "Monopoly Money" ... and everything went south from there...

So will BTC take the same route? { 3rd parties like BTCJam take investment BTC to borrow to people, and when the investment capital runs out, they cook the books and they start to borrow BTC that does not exist }

In the end, we have the same problem we have with the banks. {Money being borrowed, that are only on fake 3rd party ledgers}

I am not sure that is what happens.
You see with banks, when you get a loan, wehether in cash or cheque, that money will end up back in the bank.
That is why they can exploit it.

With BTC, you cannot do that.
You cannot miraculously make Bitcoin appear in your bank.
You either got it to lend it out, or not.

I think what he is saying is, they do it off-chain. They keep a seperate ledger for Bitcoins that are not reflected on the blockchain.
It's like a company with two invoice books, one for the auditors and one that are not being audited.
In a way some exchanges followed the same principles.
14066  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: May 11, 2015, 08:45:13 AM
Any problems with payment? or a limit on how low your post count must be, before you get paid?
I was in hospital for a while, and I only posted 4 posts in a week and did not get pay? Is the bot set to ignore posts below a certain amount of posts?

Rules says : - No minimum weekly posts
14067  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No BTC dreams in Liberland - president arrested by Croatia on: May 11, 2015, 08:28:56 AM
Taken from Fox news website: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/05/10/liberland-president-arrested-by-croatia-for-trespassing-in-no-man-land/?intcmp=latestnews

Vít Jedlička, a Czech politician who declared himself president of a tiny nation established on what he claims is a 2.7-square-mile "no man's land" along the Danube River, was arrested Saturday by Croatian authorities who said he and his self-styled fellow founding fathers of Liberland are trespassing.

Croatian authorities could not be reached for comment to confirm the arrest of Vít Jedlička, a libertarian politician from the Czech Republic. A group calling itself the Liberland Press Association, which has spoken in the past for Jedlička, made the announcement in a statement emailed to FoxNews.com.

“The president of the self-proclaimed micro-nation of the Free Republic of Liberland, Vít Jedlička, has been arrested by Croatian police for illegally trespassing an international border,” read the statement. “The arrest may have taken place on no man’s land territory. This would raise issues on the Croatian-Serbian border and could start a new crisis in the Balkans.”

On May 2, Jedlička and the rest of his cabinet declared Liberation Day for Liberland, inviting new citizens to gather in nearby Serbia to enter the purported "micro-nation" by boat via the Danube. The circumstances of Jedlička’s arrest or where he may be being held were unclear.

Jedlička’s supporters added that the arrest was unjustified and possibly illegal, saying he never actually crossed the Croatian border into the disputed territory.

They also maintain that neither Croatia nor Serbia claimed the land to be within their borders following the 2003 dissolution of Yugoslavia.

Officials from Croatia have maintained that they do not take the claims of the new nation seriously.

“The Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs does not consider claims about so-called ‘Liberland’ as in any way credible,” officials for the Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C. said in a previous statement to FoxNews.com. “Rather, it sees them as what they are – virtual witticism, and for those, we have no further comments to make.”

Embassy officials did not immediately return requests for comment regarding confirmation of the arrest.

Jedlička originally formed Liberland in April, saying he was frustrated by high taxes and intrusive government in his own nation. He claims to have researched unclaimed land and found an unspoken-for sliver where he maintains international law allowed him to stake a claim.

More than 300,000 people from around the world have applied for citizenship in Liberland, according to Jedlička. They have been approved, even though most will never live in -- or never set foot in -- Liberland.

“We believe we can set up the last state on the planet,” Jedlička told FoxNews.com in April. “We are taking the best parts of the American Revolution and the U.S. Constitution and applying it here.”

... and everyone scalded me for saying Vit just made himself a target.

OK, here is what I don't understand.
Both Croatia and Czech Republic are members of the EU.
And if I am not mistaken Vit is still a Czech citizen.
Therefor there was no illegal trespassing.
So why the arrest for illegal trespassing?

OK, I'm from Croatia, so I think I can understand better what is the problem here.
Croatia and Serbia have a few official border crossings and only in these places it is possible to legally cross the border.
Croatia still didn't officially recognized Liberland as new, independent state in Europe, and Liberland is still not in EU.
Because of this, there is no official border crossings between this 2 countries.
Vit tried to cross border in a place where there is no official border crossing and thereby violated the laws as Croatian and EU.
It's simple like that.

Technically speaking they did not cross any borders, they established this in a no-man's land between two borders.
How did they violate any laws by not crossing any borders?
This location was chosen, because nobody had legal ownership of this 7km area.
14068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I let my last credit/debit card expire this month on: May 11, 2015, 07:48:35 AM
Great story indeed
If we started a Poll to ask people, if they could do the same thing, almost 90% of them would say NO.
I find that it is easier for people living in 1st world countries to break the chains, than with 3rd world countries. Simply because more services like these exist locally for them to go 100% off the grid.
This is truely inspiring and one of my primary goals for the future.
14069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Girls use Bitcoin in strip clubs ? on: May 11, 2015, 07:33:59 AM
This might work for ladies doing private shows at bachelor parties or 1-on-1 visits.
These women become targets for robberies, when they accept cash for their services. They can carry around a printed QR Code for clients to scan, and have a cashless transaction. ^lightbulb moment^
14070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Movie on: May 11, 2015, 07:20:07 AM
I would like a DaVinci type style mystery, full of murder and greed. Satoshi being the good guy and his co-developers being the bad guys. They all start with good intentions to make the world a better place and then greed turn them against each other. The old bank robbers with a twist. ^Ha Ha Ha^

In the end, nobody gets the coins, when Satoshi is murdered and he/she takes the private keys to the grave.
14071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: QA with Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn [video] - London - April 16 2015 on: May 04, 2015, 09:49:47 AM
Looks to me as if Gavin and Mike was a bit tipsy, because most of the answers was a bit tongue in the cheek and some was a bit "smuck". I would surely need a couple of beers to enable me to answer the same questions for the 1000th time. It's Always a good benefit to be able to speak to the core developers directly, because you cannot do that with the core developers of the banking systems.  Roll Eyes
14072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edible Password Pill FDA approved on: May 04, 2015, 09:41:13 AM
What a shitty job that would be. ^Ha Ha ha^
People who get these transplants also go on medicine for the rest of their lives, to prevent their body from rejecting it. They also get kidney damage over a long period, but this is still under debate.
It could have been worst, if the pill was to be inserted from the other end. ^Ha ha ha^
14073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin is an Agent on: May 04, 2015, 09:31:36 AM
Gavin got a lot of money to do someone's work, and I guess it's good payment to maintain a secure protocol.
Only a small portion of Satoshi's original code is still in use today but the core principle was kept. Most of the developers agree that Satoshi's programming was average to say the least, but his idea was excellent.
Gavin was one of the people who cleanup up that code, and he should be acknowledged for that. ^frown^
14074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's killer app? banks could use 1 shared ledger on: May 04, 2015, 09:21:38 AM
It's already happening << http://blog.btcgermany.eu/ubs-bank-partnered-coinstructors-present-mind-gap-crypto-2-0-virtual-seminar/ >>
The banks are already looking at Alt coins with manipulation features and less anonymity for a substitute to Bitcoin and their own in-house private ledger. ^evil^
14075  Economy / Economics / Re: Global economy has made a disappointing start to 2015 on: April 24, 2015, 09:58:14 AM
The Oil price and the quantitative easing program of the ECB, are some of the reasons why we are seeing this decline in the global economy. This will be with us for a while, but things in the USA are slowly turning in the right direction. Source : https://www.conference-board.org/data/globaloutlook/
14076  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-27-2015] Gamesplanet Accepts Bitcoin Payments For Video Game CD Keys on: April 24, 2015, 09:01:16 AM
This is the best part of the article, " Gamesplanet accepts bitcoin payment through its payment processor BitPay. As is usually the case with BitPay payments, they are confirmed instantly
– I love zero-confirmation transactions – and my cd key was available in my account immediately. All I had to do was confirm my email address, as you will need to sign up for a Gamesplanet account before making a purchase.
"
You always hear people having a issue with confirmation time on the Blockchain and this is one of the advantages of using payment processors like BitPay. Let's hope more gamers jump onto this in the future. ^keeping thumbs^
14077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Asia uses Bitcoin in one color-coded map: Do you agree? Surprised? on: April 24, 2015, 08:51:08 AM
How do they calculate the per capita usage? One HUGE mining farm represent only a few people and huge numbers associated to the selling of BTC. It is still surprising to see such a small percentage of those mined coins not being used for commodities. Based on that, they have to be the biggest hoarders of Bitcoin in the world. ^ha ha ha^
14078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the usage of Bitcoin now on: April 24, 2015, 08:42:12 AM
I think one of the most prolific uses of Bitcoin today is faucet payments and gambling in small quantities. If you look at the blockchain transactions, you see frequent payment made to sites like SatoshiBones. Take away these transactions daily from the +/- 100 000 transactions and you have very little transactions being done for the rest of the things being done in Bitcoin. ^HeH^
14079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News! Gavin and Bitcoin Core devs join MIT Media Labs on: April 23, 2015, 10:23:56 AM
I was hoping for a whole lot more decentralization of the core development on a global front, not centralization in a single country. The salaries could have been crowd funded and the development could have been done in a geographical decentralized manner. There are too many countries holding back on Bitcoin, based on their concerns with the USA being in control of the core development. ^very sad^

The key words there was <psychosis> and <Bi-polar> ^Joking^
The post was very interesting, and a joy to read. My question would be this : Post the link in the blockchain where you received coins from the friend on that forum. Not that it would prove anything, but it will give more meat to the story.
I would stay clear of claiming to be the inventor of Bitcoin, it might just cost you a lot of money in future. ^HeH^
