You should move this to the Help & Discussion forum as Meta is only for discussions related to this forum and nothing else.
At the end of the page click on Move Topic and select the Help & Discussion forum to move the topic there.

If someone is to help you with your problem you need to give more info regarding the content of the message you received. Nobody will be able to help you based on that what you wrote.
To be on the safe side you should not download any files that come from people you dont know.

I managed to find an old post with the same subject, here take a look.

Why make ECDSA deterministic?
There are two major reasons to use a deterministic algorithm here.  In regular ECDSA, if two signatures are created (different messages) with the same k value, the private key can be calculated.  This means that ECDSA immediately fails if k is not chosen randomly.  The recent Android mishap led to such a problem.  Using deterministic ECDSA avoids this.

Secondly, it allows easy verification of ECDSA implementations, using fixed test vectors.  Regular ECDSA implementations cannot use signature test vectors, because the signatures are random by design.

If the quoted message is 100% yours it shouldn't be a problem for you to post it anywhere you see fit. If another user sees your post and remembers seeing the same post somewhere before and decides to do a search for it he will find that you are the original author so you are fine.

That is good news, that should now mean less topics in Meta with questions 'why was my account banned'...hopefully.
Unless they now turn into 'Email sent for banned account but no reply received, why'?  Roll Eyes

https://trezor.io/coins/

Keepkey hält nur 54 verschiedene coins und tokens

14087  Other / Serious discussion / Are there any selfless deeds? on: December 13, 2018, 08:05:02 PM
I came across a Friends episode the other day where Joey and Phoebe were discussing selfless deeds and if there is such a thing as selfless deeds, deeds that can truly be selfless. It is a very complex question so let’s take a look at what a dictionary has to say about the term selfless.

The definition of selfless is being more concerned with the needs of others than with your own needs.
An example of selfless is a mother's devotion to her child causing her to always put the child's needs first, before her own.
https://www.yourdictionary.com/selfless

This is a good example of what a selfless deed could be but is it really selfless?
Yes, a mother loves her child, she will do anything for her child and wants it to do well, be healthy and be strong. But, every time a mother sees a smile on her child’s face she will fill up with joy, she will be proud and happy that her child is satisfied. Is she happy partly because it was her actions, her deeds that resulted in her child’s happiness?! And can those deeds in that case be considered as selfless?

In the mentioned Friends episode, Phoebe says that she donated some money to a good cause and because she ‘didn’t get anything in return’ and now has less money in her pockets, she did a selfless deed. But Joey asked her how did you feel when you donated the money? Were you happy that your donation will be used for a good cause? Are you proud of yourself? You gave the money to charity and didn’t spend it yourself, do you like the recognition you received?
“It made you feel good, that makes it selfish" - Joey Tribbiani

People might argue that a deed is selfless if you give or offer something and don’t get anything in return, but you do get something in return - spiritually. Because the happiness and satisfaction you get from your deed is also a profit of some sort. Something as simple as a back scratch where you scratch the back of your partner but don’t get a back scratch yourself is not truly selfless if a part of you likes the compliment that you are giving the best back scratches in the world.

What do you think about selfless deeds and is there such a thing?

Reflashing the TREZOR with evil firmware
Official TREZOR firmware is signed by the SatoshiLabs master key. Installing unofficial firmware on the TREZOR is possible, but doing so will wipe the device storage and TREZOR will show a warning every time it starts. Reprogramming the bootloader is impossible because all TREZORs ship with their secure programming fuse blown.

Inspect the TREZORs memory with an electron microscope
You might imagine yourself dissolving the TREZOR CPU in acid, finding the reprogramming fuse, repairing it, and then loading evil firmware on the TREZOR. I’m no science fiction author, but my guess is – this might be possible. However, the Cortex M3 is a sensitive multilayer chip. The components inside are much smaller than those fake eBay amps. Chances are, all you’d end up doing is destroying the chip. Even if you succeeded in doing so, this will be a costly and time-consuming task. In the end, the bitcoins will be gone already because the original owner will have changed their recovery seed upon discovering that their TREZOR was stolen.

Evil maid attack - replace the TREZOR with a fake
It might be possible for an evil ninja, or your little brother, to steal your TREZOR and replace it with a fake TREZOR. If the fake TREZOR was embedded with a wireless transmitter, then the fake TREZOR could wirelessly transmit any PIN it received. The attacker would then have full access to your funds.

If you are concerned about such an attack, it is a good idea to sign the back of your TREZOR with a permanent pen. Don’t forget to check the signature before each use.

The TREZOR’s chassis is sealed using ultrasound. Opening the TREZOR without destroying the case is nearly impossible.

How to verify the security integrity of my Nano S?

On the hardware side, if you want to check that the Nano S has not been tampered with, or the applications running are the official apps, here are a few things that you might need to know:

1) The Secure Element checks the full microcontroller flash at boot (this is described in our blog post). If it has been modified, you'll get a warning at boot. As an additional check, you can open the device to verify that no additional chip has been added (referring to the attached picture) and that the MCU is an stm2f042k6 (with 32 Kb flash, as a bigger flash could contain code fooling the Secure Element validation). Markings on the chip can vary but you should see the string "042K6".

2) The Secure Element itself is personalized at factory with an attestation proving that it has been created by us. You can verify it by running

pip install --no-cache-dir ledgerblue

python -m ledgerblue.checkGenuine --targetId 0x31100002

The source code is available here: https://github.com/LedgerHQ/blue-loader-python/blob/master/ledgerblue/checkGenuine.py

3) Each individual application will display a "Non Genuine" warning if not signed when opened. A modified User Interface (as found in https://github.com/LedgerHQ/nanos-ui) will also display a warning message on boot.

4) The root of trust for the current batch is the following secp256k1 public key : 0490f5c9d15a0134bb019d2afd0bf297149738459706e7ac5be4abc350a1f818057224fce12ec9a 65de18ec34d6e8c24db927835ea1692b14c32e9836a75dad609 - as checked in checkGenuine.py https://github.com/LedgerHQ/blue-loader-python/blob/master/ledgerblue/checkGenuine.py#L72

14090  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator please check - "using automated translation tools in local board" on: December 13, 2018, 05:21:47 PM
If native users are active on their local board then it is easy to report automated translators or who use any type of tools to translate. If native can report against the translator then moderator can take action easily.
That is exactly right! If you browse your Local forum on a regular basis pay attention to the threads that are opened there. If you find threads like this one promising giants and dragons and what not, post in the thread with proof that google translate was used, report it to the mods and help genuine translators from your local sections from not losing translation work because of cheaters.
14091  Other / Meta / Re: Prevent profiles with negative trust from sending merit on: December 13, 2018, 05:14:54 PM
A tagged member can still find posts that are worth meriting and unless they are meriting shitposts or selling their merits there shouldn't be a reason for them to not be able to merit other users. Deal with a tagged individual with caution but if you like a post it doesn't matter if it was written by a J.Member, Legendary or a tagged user, they can still be merited.

If it's encrypted you need to install the wallet to see the addresses, but then you can just copy them and check online instead of downloading the entire blockchain.

1. Onemogučite Twitter Auditu pristup vašem nalogu.
Kliknite na Profile i Settings
Zatim na Apps and devices
Počistite browsing history i cookies i restartujte preglednik

2. Zatim, privremeno promjenite korisničko ime vašeg Twittera.
Uputstvo kako promjeniti korisničko ime možete naći ovdje:
https://help.twitter.com/en/managing-your-account/change-twitter-handle
3. Zatražite audit sa novim korisničkim imenom.
4. Nakon audita vratite svoje prvobitno korisničko ime.

Javite ako je ovo uspjelo.

14096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some of the options for safely storing ETH somewhere at home? on: December 12, 2018, 12:44:52 PM
Using a hardware wallet is the most secure option, no doubt about that. If your ETH is worth 100s or 1000s of $ it makes sense storing it in a hardware wallet like the Ledger. Ledger currently has a 30% discount for the Nano S so this would be a good time to buy if you decide to do so.

Using a paper wallet, like some users suggested, is also a good option but take into consideration that it makes very little sense to have a paper wallet if you are planning to move your assets back and forth for trading or acquiring other assets. Paper wallets should be used as an option for long term investments.
14097  Other / Meta / Re: Analysis – Merit per post per Section/Subsection on: December 12, 2018, 12:34:30 PM
This post will help, thanks. I see a lot of 0 awarded merits and I am thinking of going through them one by one to check who is still active.

@DdmrDdmr I was only thinking of active users who browse the forum on almost a daily basis.
@hugeblack @DdmrDdmr was there talk about merits from inactive users being taken away from their accounts and sent proportionally to active users who award merits?

14098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Write protect a micro sd? on: December 11, 2018, 10:54:14 PM
In Windows 10 you can password protect your hard drives, usb sticks and even sd cards with BitLocker which comes with the OS. Just right click on the drive and Turn BitLocker On. But I am not sure how that would work in a non Windows environment and would you be able to unlock the drive with your password outside of Windows.
14099  Other / Meta / Re: Analysis – Merit per post per Section/Subsection on: December 11, 2018, 10:44:28 PM
DdmrDdmr I was wondering, and I hope you wont be mad that I am going a bit off topic, would it be possible to make a list of users who are holding the most sMerits and not distributing them?
I dont mean users who have the most amount of Merits in total, but users who have the most amount of non distributed merits.

For example:
User A has 150 sMerits, but he is distributing merits almost on a daily basis, so he would not be on the list.
User B has 40 sMerits and in the last 6 months he has not sent a single merit to anyone although he is active on the Forum.

It would be interesting to know because I believe that there are still many people thinking that if they send a merit to someone they will automatically have one less themselves. Might be an interesting research to find out why they are hodling their merits and why they feel that not a single post on the forum is worth meriting.

Excellent job and you took a lot of time making this thread the way it is. Users like the one above shouldn't be allowed to do any translations, as they take the tasks away from legitimate translators who devote their time on doing a proper job. Trofo from the Croatian section is one of those legitimate translators and there are quite a few who do excellent translations if I might add.
