14101  Other / Meta / Re: How to get a topic sticked ? on: October 21, 2015, 05:14:21 PM
Yo , I was wondering how and what are we supposed to do to get a thread of ours sticked , I know it should be helpful or something like that however there is few threads on Beginners & Help section but don't see them sticked and if they are , it would definitely reduce the spam .
So is the OP of a topic should make a poll and people vote if it should be sticked or not ? or how does it work

Afaik, mods decide whether a topic should be stickied or not. You can request that in the thread provided that it is beneficial to the board you posted it. In the beginners and help sec., faq are about wallets and ways to earn. Wallets topic could be stickied, though the latter is not necessary.
14102  Other / Meta / Re: Is this ok? on: October 21, 2015, 05:08:58 PM
Honestly, I do not support this (but it does not mean that I do anything about it; read next part). This is due to the fact that it will attract a lot of signature spam that it did not had previously. However, it tends to be okay. If you have a question to ask or have something constructive to add to that subject, it is better than opening another thread about the same thing. Just make it so that it doesn't look like a useless(spam) necro post. Then your post shall not be deleted.

I umderstand what you mean, well I am referring to those useless posts that doesn't even make sense at all, they'd just bump a very old thread just like the guy di which is an obvious spam. And oh btw,  I noticed the posts in that thread got deleted already.

Well useless necro bumps would probably be deleted right away as long as a mod or someone elae reports it. Also, bumps should be deleted before posting a new bump so as to avoid redundancy and spam in a thread.
14103  Other / Meta / Re: Evil score visualization on: October 21, 2015, 05:02:32 PM
At first I thought I was looking at a massive void in space lol.

any chance to get this on a world map?

A great idea, though I wonder how it can be done with such a massive number of IP addresses available. When I first registered an account, I have had to pay a mere 8752 satoshi. I guess my IP back then contains some units of evil more than the blue green threshold.
14104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: October 21, 2015, 04:51:07 PM
One of the reason for the high cost of Western Union is that WU has to meet the regulation of various countries. With the direct transfer of bitcoin, WU will be out of business.

Yes I agree with the regulation part, but WU gonna run out of business? I think not in the next decades to come. People still have to cling on fiat on their expenses because most are still bought with fiat. Direct transfers with low fees could be an advantage of bitcoin, but after it has reached to its destination, exchanging it to fiat would be tricky for people who doesn't know where and how to convert it to their own local currency.
14105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Drugs, Fraud, Porn, Gambling, Murder, Sex and now Ransom on: October 21, 2015, 04:39:23 PM

Can one of these murderers be hired for assisted suicide....?

Probably. You can see a lot of these hired murderers in the dark web. Plus fact is, they accept bitcoins. Wink

---

Bitcoin is closely related to illegal activities due to its pseudoanonymous nature. No wonder it is used heavily in these kind of transactions. But I wonder why is fiat not that 'bad' in the eyes of the general public when it was first  and heavily used in illegal transactions than bitcoin?
14106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The blocksize issue: how about time limits? on: October 21, 2015, 04:25:52 PM
The problem is not about the time limits but rather the data it contains in a single block. Also, I don't think that it could be done or implemented in the protocol or whether it would be viable to apply it in the whole protocol.

What you want to looko for is dynamic blocksize rather than so called timelimits
-snip-

This is what I see fit for the blocksize debate. We need a 'flexible' block size rather than a fixed one, though I'm not sure how would it be implemented.
14107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is coming back, stronger than ever, with new members! on: October 21, 2015, 03:53:26 PM
Seems about right to me actually.. Price rise --> more interest in bitcoin --> more people find their way to forums to learn about bitcoin.

I guess the spam accounts account for most of the steady line in between the spikes.

Well most of the time, this is the scenario. As the price increases, so is the interest in bitcoin. Also, I don't think that the forum is still a reliable source of information nowadays, but still people can find some good bits of knowledge here.
14108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rise? on: October 21, 2015, 03:41:58 PM
One of the possibility would be that huge Chinese speculators are playing a funny game that bring them a lot of money.
I was surprised to see bitcoin price increase without hear some news, maybe this is just manipulation by china market before christmas and i guess they want to take a profit in christmas day
Does that mean the price will go down back to $250 after christmas Sad
I was actually surprised too that the price went up in just one week Grin
especially the minimum news that we get regarding the price Sad

I guess it could be a whole lot of reasons. But probably the halving could also have something to do with it. If you think about it, some people are dumping BTC because the price is rising while others are accumulating

This is one of the plausible reasons there is why there is a surge of price in the past weeks. Many people are accumulating now for the incoming halving which is set at Q2 2016. Interestingly, China has also been active in trading. This is just the beggining of what has to come.
14109  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cheaperthansteam.com - Buy PC games in a bitcoin-only website | Instant delivery on: October 21, 2015, 03:33:15 PM
Good thing there is CS:GO. I will definitely buy it one of these days after I completed my rig upgrade. My brother wants to have this game in his account so I'm gonna avail of it sometime in November (I hope it will be on sale too.)
14110  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Powerful exchanger system ".NetXCore Exchanger" on: October 21, 2015, 03:20:51 PM
Better specofy what kind of exchange this would be to better get some attention for this thread. What kind of exchange this would be? Some details like that so people could get a clear hint of what service you are gonna provide.
14111  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Special website for beginners on: October 21, 2015, 03:17:19 PM
I have made a website special for beginners with a list of faucets. These faucets are checked regularly for paying.
None of the faucets have popups, popunder, redirects or malware.

Good list, I must say. But claiming on faucets shouldn't be taken too seriously as it is not a good source of money--even beer money--in reality. But all in all, this is a great initiative. Thanks for this!

14113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a lot of free bitcoins fast? on: October 21, 2015, 02:31:39 PM
-snip-
I am living proof of this.  When I started I actually didn't know about this forum at all.  I was simply doing faucets and trying to earn some free coins.  I think I found a different forum at one point but then found this one.  The faucets eventually brought me to this site and I have been here ever since.

Yes, faucets could help a user familiarize himself on transacting with bitcoins, but what others don't know is that if there are too many dust inputs/outputs on an address, that would have a problem in terms of fee as it is calculated per kB on every transaction. To be able to create a tx using that address, you have to abide by the fee it requests or just let the balance in there and never bother using it again.
14114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 20, 2015, 04:42:13 PM

China sure does help the bull move forward. Anything good about China brings some upward movement in terms of price.
14115  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 20, 2015, 04:34:27 PM
In 24 hours bitcoin price changed from $266 to $269. This is a good movement in October. I hope we can touch $280 in the end of the month or in early November Grin. I still hope bitcoin price will break $270 limit tomorrow.

This is a good movement since we dipped sub-200. We have been in a slow and steady increase in price for several weeks now, and I think it would go on like this until the end of this year. I just hope that it holds its momentum until the halving.
14116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: October 20, 2015, 04:25:24 PM
you must join on forum, spread question like this continusly, may be you will get some way

Promoting signature campaigns for the sake of earning whilst spreading spam is not a good advice. Actually, the forum could go on without signature canpaigns; it's just that it is one form of advertising that comes in cheap in the services' end and it attracts users to come in this forum. Spamming is prohibited, so I think you can't really create redundant threads.
14117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: October 20, 2015, 04:10:53 PM
I've never seen BTC anywhere in the real world in the UK, plus doesn't BTC have like 30 minutes + send time? That must have been an awkward wait Tongue

Depends on how much fee is included on the payment. Usually it takes around 20-30 mins. or less if you put the normal fee which is 0.0001.

That is one problem I find in transacting with bitcoins irl. Even getting a single confirmation takes several minutes. It is kinda slow for a fast-paced business imo.
14118  Economy / Gambling / Bitcoin betting for e-Sports tournaments? on: October 19, 2015, 07:58:07 PM
I'm a Dota 2 and CS:GO player and  I just want to know whether there are legit sites that accommodates betting of bitcoins too aside from in-game items? I'd like to know one, since the Majors are nearing in dota 2 and I don't want to miss the action by betting bitcoins on my favorite teams.

EDIT: I see nitrogensports.eu, are there anything else aside from that one?
14119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: October 19, 2015, 07:53:11 PM
mining if you have free electric Tongue

Free electricity doesn't mean it's profitable. You're burning up your video card/CPU at the same time. Factor in those costs.

when i was instamining alt in the past, it was basically with free electricity, because i was mining for 5 min and then repeat for another coin, and it was everything but not profitable

also if well cooled, usually custom gpu are the best, you can be assured that your gpu would last very long, and anyway gpu are not like asic, they have warranty...

This is one edge of gpu mining: the warranty of the card itself. Nowadays, altcoins mostly are GPU-dependent on their algorithms thus making GPU mining profitable (if in case these coins hit the exchanges). Also, a few cards would probably give you some profit if you mine a low-difficulty coin already out in the exchanges, it's also a plus if you got a cheap electricity.
14120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: October 19, 2015, 07:47:03 PM
I often use bitcoin for various things such as video games, voucher, recharge my phone credit & other digital goods because it's easier, simpler & faster, also because i don't have to fill various information too

But, i also use my bitcoin as Investment form too Smiley
I'm sure bitcoin price will rise up, even it's slow

Oh yes, I almost forgot buying steam games with bitcoin. Cheesy Whenever there are nice games I stumble upon in steam, I always make sure that I will have a legit copy of it. So far, I have bought 4 games with bitcoin (on discounted prices of course Wink) Terraria, CS:GO, Don't Starve, and MGS 5. Some other indie games I got for free.
