14141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could Ethereum be dumped to $300? on: June 15, 2018, 06:02:29 AM
If ETH can go down from $1,200 to $500, then $300 is definitely in the cards. A lot of ICOs are ending in failure now and its future is in doubt. If the ICOs vanish, then it can have a major effect on the ETH exchange rates.
14142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: June 15, 2018, 05:59:26 AM
I would suggest you to go for Ripple, it is at about $0.5 only and thus there is lot of scope for growth. It was at about $3 on its peak and thus it should reach this mark in next 6 months easily.

You are trying to fool the users. It is the market cap and not the price which matters. Ripple is so cheap ($0.55 per coin) because the total supply (100 billion) is almost 500 times that of Bitcoin.
14143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold all my ETH and bought ADA on: June 15, 2018, 05:47:42 AM
ADA is worth 1/10th of ETH in terms of market cap, but has so much more potential. Completely lost my confidence in ETH as new ICO's on decline, unknown inflation etc etc.

The number of ICOs is not down. But the quality has gone down for sure. But I don't know whether you can blame ETH for that. The quality of the ICOs is not in the hands of the ETH developers.
14144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 15000 in this year. on: June 15, 2018, 05:43:18 AM
I think Ethereum will be worth $15000 or more in this year.
What you guys think ?

A total of 30 posts and you think that ETH is suddenly going to go up by 30x within the next 6 months. And the most funny thing is that this guy hasn't given any logic behind his bizarre prediction. I am not generalizing, but this post is a perfect example of how the newbs have destroyed the reputation and quality of this forum.
14145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When did you bought bitcoin? on: June 15, 2018, 04:52:28 AM
I purchased my first Bitcoins sometime in December 2013, when the prices were around $800 per coin. And after my purchase, the exchange rates went down for more than two years and my investments turned green only in 2016.
14146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits a new low since 2016 on: June 14, 2018, 07:30:26 AM
Be greedy when people panic, that is my tactics. Right now I buy 3 BTC and wait for the price to rise again. Things will turn green, nothing to worry too. Wink

You could have waited for a few more days, until the prices stabilize. As of now, it looks like the prices are going to fall further. I won't be too surprised, if the exchange rates go below the $5K or even the $4K levels.
14147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 14, 2018, 07:28:28 AM
Yesterday it was a disappointing display from Scotland against Pakistan. The TV coverage was not available and so I had to watch the match through online streaming. They started quite well, but in the end they couldn't handle the spin of Shadab Khan.
I think it was telecasted in ten sports but not sure. As we expected Pakistan won this match by 48 runs. 1st they made a big target 205 runs and later they bowled well and won this match.

Ten Sports have the broadcasting rights for the matches being played in Scotland, but they decided not to telecast the match in India and Pakistan. The match was only available in PTV Sports and this channel is not available in India. The online streaming channels were also not working properly.
14148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 14, 2018, 07:25:46 AM
I'm really upset at Spain and Real Madrid for what they did, dismissing a coach right now like seriously now, the glue that bonded the players is gone, and now it's a open mess and Spain my beloved club will crash as there is no tactics, no coach to look up to ya they hired some but is he really the right guy and can he miraculously plan a win. Spain have shot themselves in the foot.

What sort of bonding you are talking about? Julen Lopetegui never really bonded in with the players and he seemed to have a lot of issues with the team members. But then, Real Madrid also could have waited till the end of the world cup.
14149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shall I buy ETH? on: June 14, 2018, 07:23:05 AM
Is buying ETH currently a good idea, or should I be going with Bitcoin?

I think ETH is at the dip right now if you want to buy you can enter and by ETH for long term. i think you will take good profit if you hold it long

As I have said earlier, there is no guarantee that ETH will give you a good profit on the long-term. I am saying this, because I am noticing the emergence of a number of alts, such as ADA, NEO, NEM, EOS.etc. Many of these coins can challenge ETH in the near future.
14150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Your Job is The Worst Idea on: June 14, 2018, 07:21:04 AM
I am against this idea, but at the same time I know people who make more than $3,000 per month from the bounty campaigns (while they were doing full-time job, they were getting paid around $300 per month). But everything depends on your competency, skills, market conditions, and luck.
14151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I do not believe ico anymore on: June 14, 2018, 07:19:21 AM
Right now many ICO investor losses their investment because market condition. Many token have price below ICO price. If we are confident with our token, i think we should not panic with market condition right now, better hold it for next 6 months

You can't blame the ICO failures on bad market conditions alone. I have been watching ICOs for the past 1.5 years, and I have noticed a significant dip in the quality of them. Most of them are over-priced as well, with the soft-cap and hard-cap kept at very unrealistic levels.
14152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shall I buy ETH? on: June 14, 2018, 07:15:17 AM
You can buy ETH if you want, but you need to look around a bit more. There are a lot of promising alts getting listed everyday. These alts don't have a $50 billion market cap, and therefore they have the potential to give you 10x or even 100x returns.
14153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell token too early on: June 14, 2018, 07:13:44 AM
You need to develop a strategy on what to do with the tokens that you receive from various bounty campaigns. And you need to follow through this strategy for all the tokens. It will minimize the chances of missing on something.
14154  Other / Archival / Re: Do you believe Crypto Currency is changing the world? on: June 14, 2018, 03:17:46 AM
Do you believe Crypto Currency is changing the world?

1. Why do think so?
2. What changes crypto made?

Yes. The impact became visible from 2013 onward and it became a big thing during 2017. Third party payment processors such as Paypal and Visa are getting concerned about Bitcoin and banking giants such as Jamie Dimon are getting nervous due to its rising popularity.
14155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do we need to diversify? on: June 14, 2018, 03:06:18 AM
There are arguments both for and against asset diversification. Personally, I am someone who favors it. In the past I believe that I benefited from diversification as less than one-forth of my crypto investments were successful. If I had invested in a single asset, then the chances are that I could have got a negative return.
14156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Hard Cap and Soft Cap" on: June 14, 2018, 02:56:32 AM
And I've always wondered why soft cap is so different from hard cap. For example, if soft cap 5 millions and hard cap 35 millions. I think that's too big a difference. Maybe someone will explain to me why this is happening.

The difference is because the ICO promoters want the investors to value their project. A wide range means that the total number of circulating tokens will be decided by the investors based on the demand (provided that the soft-cap is reached without any issues).
14157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 13, 2018, 02:57:09 AM
I think that Iceland is going to be the giant killers during this edition of the world cup. Anyone agrees with me? They are placed in a tough group, along with Argentina and Croatia. But I believe that they can upset at least one of these two teams.
I honestly don't see how they can advance to the knockout stages in that group. They have to play against Argentina, they have Messi & co. Then Croatia, Modric and Rakictic can tear apart Iceland's midfield/defence in the blink of an eye. And finally, Nigeria, a very offensive team with the likes of Iwobi, Iheanacho, and Moses...all in all, it's going to be extremely difficult for Iceland, a first-timer in the World Cup, to advance to the Round of 16.

Well.. my heart says that Iceland is going to beat one of these three teams (Argentina, Croatia, Nigeria). They have a history of causing upsets, and I will be betting in favor of Iceland for all their three matches in the group-stage. They may not progress further, but there are high chances for at least one upset.

Here are the odds from Bet365 for the Iceland matches:

vs Argentina: 10/1
vs Croatia: 3/4
vs Nigeria: 2/1

14159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: June 13, 2018, 02:50:31 AM
ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.

LOL.. Just noticed that this thread was posted in 2015, when the ETH prices were around $2 per coin. Those who held on to the coin will be sitting on top of 300x returns now. But personally I have a feeling that the peak may be over for ETH. Now it is the turn of some of the newer coins, such as ADA, NEO, NEM and EOS.
14160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: June 13, 2018, 02:43:44 AM
If you have excess funds, then this may be the time to device a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) and get some good coins in your wallet. But for the vast majority of the users, who won't be having spare funds available with them, the challenge would be to limit their sales to a minimum level.
