1421  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will you do? on: August 30, 2017, 10:31:50 PM
If the price is cheap buy a lot, if the price is expensive to sell. "Economic principle Grin
A very basic principle that most people forget not only on bitcoin but on all aspects of life, how many people buy something new and then they sell it used for half the price when they could have gotten the same item used and pay half themselves.
1422  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need blockchain technology? on: August 30, 2017, 10:30:22 PM
Hello everyone.

When I see there are too many ICO and shitcoins on novaexchange. I keep asking myself: do we really need blockchain technology?

In case of Bitcoin. Of course, I agree.
What about ETH? I agree too.

But, have a look at the others on the market. I don't even know why should people use their service. There is no real use in real life.

An ad management system on blockchain? - We already had Google Ads & Facebook Ads.
A social network on blockchain? (steem) - Do we? I don't see anything but a centralized forum hosted on a random hosting using its currency to pay for the writers.

There are too many projects  that we don't really need it on blockchain.

Sometimes, I think there is a black swan (Blockchain is useless in real life) lurking around.

Please enlighten me.

Lets be honest with ourselves. The big reason why we are interested in blockchains and cryptocurrencies is because we could sometimes make easy money with it. These markets are very volatile and the volatility makes them profitable to trade if you know what youre doing.

As far as needing blockchain technology? No, we dont really need it yet.
Without the blockchain bitcoin will be impossible so I have to disagree there, in fact many other entities like blockchain better than they like bitcoin.
1423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do u agree that Bitcoin will go to 500,000$ in 2020 by john Macafee claim ? on: August 30, 2017, 04:04:43 AM
John macafee tweeted last month that bitcoin will hit 500,000$ in next 2 to 3 years whats your opinion about that? are u seeing this or not??

I appreciate his optimism but i don't think it is going to happen.

Honestly, if would shock everyone, even the biggest bitcoin fans if it happened.

He actually made the prediction when the price of bitcoin was steadily rising on a day to day basis, and i think that's what has mostly influenced him to say such an outrageous thing. Obviously, he did not consider that growth will ultimately slow down. There is nothing on this world that can sustain 10% per day gains, without correcting itself in a major way. I see a major correction happening next year, which will slow us down quite a bit.

So sorry Mr. McAfee.
I do not think we are meant to take this prediction literally since there is no way for bitcoin to have that value, I think this is just a declaration of a sentiment, he feels bitcoin is going to be very valuable in the future and in that he is not wrong.

He seems to be completely serious about this, even if this was just a publicity stunt i think that he does mean what he say. He isn't just throwing $500k around as an arbitrary number for bitcoin, he is giving that figure as a target AND he is giving a time that this is going to be achieved as well. I doubt that he's merely demonstrating that he is a supporter of bitcoin, as this would be a rather idiotic way to do it.

Usually after the pump(which is now), there is a few years of bearish or sideways movement in the bitcoin market.

His date of 2020 falls on a halving which could potentially bring bitcoin back to the price right now or even above($5k), but $500k is 100 times that figure.
If that is the case then I do not know what to say since it is impossible we are going to reach that price in that time frame, I’m not even sure we could see that price in the next century.
1424  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: August 30, 2017, 04:02:44 AM
as far as now,i think blockchain can not change our humanity and our social system
Bitcoin cannot change us, if we want to change we need to do it ourselves but since corruption happens in all the countries of the world then it seems that bitcoin is going to be used for that purpose.
Yes,  Bitcoins are just currency meant to serve us in a better way than conventional ones. It can’t affect our morals in anyway.
If we want to get rid of corruption, we need to change our mindsets, educate people about right and wrong, about the disadvantages of corruption etc. Without this, corruption can’t be ended.
I do not think we can get rid of corruption that is part of being a human some people lose the fight between good and evil regardless of how good their education was.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker v Other casino games online on: August 29, 2017, 12:44:26 AM
We all know how much bitcoin users love dice but I think even poker websites ( bitcoin supporting sites ) also generate same or even more revenue than dice sites . Do you guys play only dice or only poker or both using bitcoins ?
I play casino games using bitcoin, but for poker i use pokerstars.
Why? Because there are lots players and lots tables, if I play cash game I can switch table very easy and find full table at any time, if i want to play sit and go tournament i don't have to wait too long.
So if you find a BTC site like pokerstars ( almost impossible right now Ik ) will you switch from pokerstars to BTC supported poker site ?
Yes, if BTC poker site become popular as pokerstars i will switch to it.
But I don't think this will be possible in near future, cmon we are talking about 16 year old site and over 100K online users.
Maybe they will accept btc one day, who knows
If that happened I will switch too but the possibility of that happening is very low at the moment most casinos that offer poker games do not have too many players, at most a few hundreds.
The BTC poker sites are growing actually , when I was talking with few strangers on local poker site they asked me if I knew any BTC poker sites so that they can play there too so the interest is there and they have lot of potential to grow .
The interest is there, but the money riding in poker at the moment is very low, I have seen some bitcoin poker rooms and most of the time there are only a few tables with players and the rest is empty.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know whether its your lucky day? on: August 29, 2017, 12:42:38 AM
Was just playing dice and roll my winnings as i thought its my lucky day because I won the first roll. Realized after several games that I lose more than the amount I can afford to lose for a day.
I could have avoided it if I wasn't just too eager get a jackpot, of course who knew it wasn't my lucky day when my lucky calendar says "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."  Smiley and its new year!

so how do you guys test whether is your lucky day or not?

You have no way to know that, no one can, it is tempting to think that a particular day is your day and that you are going to win but at the end you are only deceiving yourself.
1427  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: August 29, 2017, 12:41:24 AM
If you're a woman, prostitution is quite profitable. Maybe drug trafficking across one border. In Europe this is not very risky but you get payed pretty well.
This is probably one of the most disturbing posts that I have read, never allow yourself to be in a position in which you are desperate for money or horrible ideas like the ones above may cross your head.
Prostitution is not that quite risky than get involved in drugs, it's less punishable on our law than dealing with drugs.
In our country if you caught selling drugs you will go to jail for the rest of your life and that is very risky so stay away, it's good to weigh things over and if you are really desperate of money, at least know what are the consequences of what you will do.
It is the same in my country but you are only looking about the legal consequences, someone that engages in prostitution will be at high risk, if I’m not mistaken the biggest risk to a prostitute is being killed and when you take into account the possible incurable diseases that a prostitute can get then it is very obvious that such a job is not worth the risks.
1428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest in Bitcoin right now? on: August 29, 2017, 12:29:57 AM
Hello!

Thanks for reading this topic.

I have some money at the bank which I actually don't need. The interest rate is a joke, so I'm looking for long term investment.
BTC price is kind of high right now if you look at the charts and history. But I read a lot of topics and it looks like this doesn't matter at all.

Let's say I want to buy like 2BTC. Do you advice to do it right now or wait till when?

Thanks!!!
If I had that kind of money I will probably invest in alts instead of bitcoin, if you were making the question some moths ago my answer would have been different since I thought that bitcoin had a  lot of room to growth.
1429  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: August 29, 2017, 12:01:29 AM
How many people store their bitcoin for a long time?

Do you made a poll and have the percentage on hand? Is it over 70%?
I do not think the percentage of people storing bitcoin long term is that high, most people sell at the first sight of profits so it is very obvious to me that there is no way that percentage is right even in a bitcoin forum.
1430  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: August 28, 2017, 11:59:28 PM
It would have been better to completely clean up the financial system. If the central banks had not flown to the rescue of the banks, they would have been forced to act in a much more responsible manner under penalty of bankruptcy. The Bitcoins offer an opportunity to set up an international financial system that would no longer be dependent on central banks and would punish not rresponsible
I agree with this but since banks are in the bed with governments then they were rescued from their own mistakes but next time it happens, and there is going to be a next time, no one will save them.
1431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: next bitcoin fork in Nov? on: August 28, 2017, 11:57:58 PM
The fork that will happen in november will not affect the bitcoin price, the first fork in August did affect the bitcoin price, but that's because of a negative issue, so many people panic, and sell its bitcoin, panic sell that keeps the bitcoin price down.
The fork did not affected the price but the possibility of segwit and segwit2x not been compatible but this was fixed no one cared about the bitcoin cash fork, but the next fork that comes is going to have a deep effect on bitcoin.
1432  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC and Banks on: August 28, 2017, 11:56:12 PM
hello,
I was wondering if major and smaller banks invested in Bitcoin or other Altcoins?
I think they did but, the question is how? and with which methods?  Huh Huh
of course any bank will never say it publicly....
someone who knows something can explaine the community?
thanks
I do not think banks invested in bitcoin that will help bitcoin to become stronger and to eventually defeat them so I doubt they are helping bitcoin in that way it is more likely they have invested in other projects and try to destroy bitcoin in that way.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents disagree with MMO – Make Money Online and Bitcoin ? on: August 28, 2017, 11:54:00 PM
Maybe one thing you can do is share some of your earnings to your mom to prove that you really can generate income from this.
Or let her read related news regarding cryptocurrency and who are currently using and supporting this.
Maybe if she knows that even banks and known companies are now jumping into this, she will start to calm down and maybe have peace of mind when you're online & doing crypto transactions.
That is not really the issue the issue the op is having that his mom thinks that he is doing something illegal so I think the best way to deal with this is to show his mom how he is earning his money online.
1434  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will you do? on: August 27, 2017, 04:39:09 AM
hi, what will you do? If the bitcoin price is suddenly cheap
How cheap? But not matter the price I will buy as much as I can and take it as a once in a lifetime opportunity because that is exactly what it will be, many people do not took the opportunity to buy when bitcoin was 200 and now look at the price.

There are some other projects that are necessary, we need decentralized exchanges and so some have appeared, there is also a project about a decentralized internet and if successful that is a game changer.

1438  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will it fall? on: August 26, 2017, 08:06:08 PM
It's been on a high lately, and I would've guessed that it would've fell already, but it keeps climbing. When will it fall? When should we sell? Or should we hold through the next fall?
what comes up must come down.

Why would you wait the next fall to sell? Don't sell when it fall brother.
If the price is right for you or you get a profit out of it then you can sell.
No one can really tell where will bitcoin take us, for now just ride the train and trust bitcoin.
People can sell at any moment but if you are about your earnings then the most healthy thing to do is to wait until the price goes as high as possible and then sell, but in my personal opinion if you are not a trader this is a waste of time, just hold your coins and be happy with your earnings.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help!!! on: August 26, 2017, 07:59:40 PM
To answer your question, well yes, there's a chance for you to earn, also in bitcoin, by playing a gambling game. I repeat, there's a CHANCE. Also with that chance, there will also be a chance for you to lose your money. Playing a gambling game is really risky although with high risks there is also high rewards. If you're aim is to earn money or rather bitcoin, then I don't think playing a gambling game is the best option. There's a lot of other ways to earn, so I suggest you explore those first. I hope you find the answer to your question.
The issue at hand is that the chance of making money in gambling is lower than the possibility of losing money and that is why it is such not a good thing to try gambling to earn money.
