I understand the angle you are coming from but lemme be frank with you, I did bet on that match and it was a W1 straight win for Manchester City. Haaland's being ineffective in both legs of the matchup against Real Madrid was a truth. However I don't want to be cruel about him in general of course. Because he has had an incredible season so far and no doubt he has reached way beyond the expectations from him for this season. Milan must fight it out in the remaining three matches, the chances of qualifying for the Champions League are very small because they have to rely on Lazio. After the failure in the Champions League, of course the Milan players have been able to fully shift their focus to Serie A. I saw reports today that said Brighton and Liverpool have agreed on a deal for Mac Allister. If this is true then its a very good signing for Liverpool. One thing that made them suffer this season was they lack of creativity in their midfield. Mac Allister can fill that hole. He is very technical midfielder than is also a box to box player,. the kind of players Klopp likes. Liverpool still needs tp improve a lot of areas in their squad but with Mac Allister their midfield is almost perfect. Gundogan is a player who has experience requirements. although he is no longer young, his services are still in demand by several big clubs. Speculation about Ilkay Gundohan's future at the Etihad stadium has intensified as his contract expires at the end of the season. and currently, rumors about Gundohan's departure are of interest to several clubs. Truthfully Lens technically faced 3 big teams in the league recently - Marseille, Monaco and PSG. They won against the first two teams I mentioned but lost to PSG. This is still a positive thing for Lens of course because they won against their nearest opponents below them at least. Besides I would like to remind that Lens defeated Marseille twice this season. This must be good enough to say that Lens deserve the 2nd position more than Marseille now in my opinion.
Lens should be able to win against Lorient and Ajaccio. Because there is no way Lorient are qualifying for any tournament and Ajaccio have already relegated. But as for Auxerre they had better be careful against them. Because Auxerre are still right above the relegation zone by only one point.
I have been praying for Lens to maintain that second position since and they are doing just that. At a point I felt the pressure would be too much and they would fold under pressure but they have proved me wrong and I'm happy for that. My faith in them increased when they won Marseille two game weeks ago. There/s a saying that if you want to be champions you have to beat the best. In this case Lens beat the biggest threat to second position. They haven't qualified for the champions league yet because there are still three matches to play and they are just two points above Marseille but they are in a relatively good spot.
