1421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Go ahead and invest when ever you are ready on: June 27, 2021, 09:21:44 PM
If I keep on listening to what people say about Bitcoin that it price will still drop I will keep on waiting and I may also miss opportunities. Afterall one of the good qualities of a good investor is risk taking I don't need to follow what people say.

Even if it drops it will still come up, it has been happening sometimes back , and this will not be the first time.
One can't predict the market you maybe thinking it price will still fall low but unfortunately it may come  up unexpectedly.
The truth is that there is no good time for one to make investment , it is something that one can start anytime depending when you are ready. so I move on . No dulling

I think the best thing to do is just to start investing already since that is the time where you are going to learn in your experience, when you start you going to realize the things your read or research.

There is no accurate way to predict how the market will move, but you could probably do that at some point if you are updated in trading daily and you have experience of how the market could react to the news, etc.

You cannot expect the market to just pump overtime for years and not expecting a dump if your a daily trader you could relate where you need to make research and read the news to predict how the movement of the market. It's a risky investment so the best thing is to start right away in my opinion, it just a matter of how you're going to plan your strategy like for example converting to stable coins, knowing what cryptocurrency to invest in, exit strategy, etc.
1422  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Passive Income - My Experience on: June 27, 2021, 08:51:12 PM

~

I do a lot of this passive income in the past years and I think it is a good passive income since you could earn an interest in holding different kinds of the token, but for me, it just wasn't that worth it in my experience and it's also a big risk since you are locking in investment in the website or wallet and its not decentralized meaning you could lose that money if they get hack or something.

For me, it just not the best investment to do since we have something a new concept like NFT's where a little similar, I mean it works for me, and NFT's is more profitable especially if you try blockchain games where is combine with defi where you need to stake and then receive a reward or just straight NFT's.

But still staking cryptocurrency is still great especially if you're aiming for long-term investment and if you invested at this like this where the market is just so low the potential profit in the future was big.
1423  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk has lasted a long time. Good job. on: June 27, 2021, 08:25:09 PM
Hi, long time reader..

I'm impressed that this website has lasted for such a long time. Eleven years! Certainly that time must have passed with occasional drama, not just with Satoshi leaving. It seems like this forum would attract more problems than most. (Although anything interesting and worthwhile attracts trolls these days..)   The increase of bitcoin's worth has no doubt helped.

But, how did you do it? How have the mods resolved issues? How have you avoided too many trolls, or kept interest (in moderating) this long?

It's a tough journey for this forum but still around after 11 years, The cryptocurrency is getting bigger so a lot of people are also interested in joining the forum and from different countries.

We have a lot of great moderators here in the forum and we have theymos the admin that maintain the forum, We are all in cryptocurrency as well, and doing or dedicating your time in this forum is a big commitment to moderators and members that still here in the forum, I guess it is just because we all win here as we continue our journey we learn and earn at the same time.

The fact that satoshi is the one who started the forum is I think a big factor, where also consider as one of the top cryptocurrency or bitcoin forums out there.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: June 27, 2021, 07:43:51 PM
This is where the problem comes for most persons, they tend to view or see gambling for the financial benefits, they don't think gambling could be fun or enjoyable and thats one way of letting greed take over.
This is a mistake and yet people do it all the time, they forget that gambling should be just another way to get some entertainment and yet they want to make a career out of it, and even if there are a few examples out of this the majority of the gamblers out there can never reach this goal, then when they realize their mistake it is too late and they have lost a lot of money, and instead of accepting their losses they try to recover the money they lost only to lose even more money in the process.
We can't deny the fact that there are people who are doing this in order to make some money despite of what the experts or people say to them. Some of these can manage to make a living out of it using their own skills on a certain casino they think they could win.

No wonder a lot of players in online gambling loses too much because they don't know what type of game they were good at and if these people learn to do it right, they might make a living but of course, casinos are always the winner on this but if they hit the jackpot then that's a different story.

I agree with that, most of the time gambling is just luck and you can't always win when gambling since not all the time is gonna turn on how you wanted to.

But when you gambling there is always a bet that is why it becomes entertaining to a lot of people because there is a chance of winning, gambling would always lead to making money that is just the nature of it.

The problem is when people start seeing it as something like as a job since there was no guarantee you could easily mess your life with that, gambling here in my country was already pretty popular especially online there are a lot of youtube who make gambling sports where you could make a bet.

1425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin plunging? What is the reason for this? on: June 27, 2021, 06:35:31 PM
Bitcoin is going up Grin Grin Grin Grin
And this is the time they would be saying to those who do keep telling that bitcoin is dead that they had regret out on not able to buy when the price was still cheap or simply missed out the opportunity to sell and this had been a common reaction for most people and they do only realize when its too late even though this market would have this kind of normal cycle or movements which you can eventually still make money on next possible dip.It is really just a matter of risk taking of particular investor or trader because not all would be having the same taking and decisions to be made whenever they do experience such situation.

Most people who sell or panic sells are just newcomers in the cryptocurrency space and don't have a lot of experience in the past Bullrun, we know that bitcoin could easily explode at any moment, and selling at a much lower price will just bring down the price more because of panic selling.

But at some points it's gonna stabilize maybe around 35k$-40k$ for a few months and then explodes again at any moment, in my opinion, bitcoin has a lot of demand compared in the past year and I could guarantee that it will skyrocket just because of low supply alone.

I would like to see it at a much lower price so that I could buy more bitcoin, I still accumulating bitcoin, I just buy and buy because of the low price and it's gonna be a big profit in long term.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks to allow customers the option of hodling, selling and buying bitcoin on: June 27, 2021, 05:39:57 PM
The possibilities of higher adoption is coming faster than we expect. I believe the banking sector is beginning high level consideration of having bitcoin as a financial too in their platforms and this is going to create more growth in demand for bitcoin. Obviously the price too will begin to soar.

Quote
In addition to enabling banks to allow their customers to buy, sell and hold bitcoin within their bank accounts, Finserv and NYDIG are “working toward implementing additional functionality, including the ability for banks to implement bitcoin-based rewards programs,” the announcement notes

Quote
Banks and credit unions of all sizes can now facilitate the buying, selling, and holding of bitcoin within their banking platforms thanks to a collaboration between Finserv and New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG). Finserv currently has about 10,000 financial institution clients.

https://news.bitcoin.com/10000-financial-institutions-customers-buy-sell-hold-bitcoin-bank-accounts/

What views do you have on this?

It's actually great when banks have this your if your able to do this with your banks and that could actually give you a lot of versatility to where you could put your money or if you want to transfer or withdraw your money.

That thing you easily be done in this kinds of services, but mostly the thing about this is it will become centralized and you have no control over your funds and that's not a good thing for some investors or holders since they want to have the private key to their own wallet.

Doing centralized or decentralized has both pros and cons but there are also people who don't want the responsibility, for example, if you lose your password or pin code you could just go to your bank and verified it then they will give you a new one, in the decentralized wallet if you lose your private key there's no way to recover your bitcoin anymore.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: June 26, 2021, 11:59:55 PM
Elon Musk has made new tweet about Doge again as always. It has been seen for some time now that Elon Musk is benefiting himself by increasing the price of Doge through new tweets. He tweeted asking if Dogecoin will be used to buy Tesla. But after his tweet, Doge price is going down, which means people are understanding his purpose. You can see his tweet from here: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1392030108274159619?s=19

I think this is just what Elon musk wants and what his plans for a long time ago before he even started making tweets about dogecoin.

I'm afraid if Elon Musk is just doing this price manipulation, it could be a huge problem. I don't like it since he picks dodge over bitcoin which is a meme coin so we could clearly see a useless token to have a high price in the market which is really dangerous and risky.

I was hoping for both bitcoin and dogecoin will be the pick, but the base of what happened is just really sketchy in my opinion announcing that they will not support bitcoin just because it is bad for the environment which is already a thing a long time ago, I'm pretty sure those are just lies.
1428  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick advice to new crypto investors on: June 26, 2021, 07:55:15 PM
Whenever someone tries to talk you out of investing on BTC and other coins remember that crypto shows its full potential in Covid period and it's the last man standing tall over other assets out there, if this doesn't motivates you I don't know what will.

Do your research in cryptocurrency, bitcoin, etc before starting investing, Start saving to start an initial investment in cryptocurrency, and start right away as soon as possible.

Most of the common mistakes of new investors are investing everything in cryptocurrency without even doing research and not knowing how risky investing in cryptocurrency is, Selling your investment at a low price where buy the crypto, not doing "Buying low sell high", being too greedy to the profit and not having an exit strategy in cryptocurrency.

There are a lot of members in the forum that has the experience that could help you in your trading but at the same time, you should do your own research and in your way, you will gain experience.
1429  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 26, 2021, 07:08:18 PM
A study done by the New York Fed suggests that when trading in an asset becomes dominated by amateur traders, it tends to form asset bubbles.  The study further noted that amateur traders do not aggregate private information well and show lower levels of strategic sophistication than professional traders.  It pretty well explains the volatility that dominates the Bitcoin market without being a study about Bitcoin.

Fed Report:  https://www.newyorkfed.org/medialibrary/media/research/staff_reports/sr939.pdf

I would agree with that since there are a lot of newcomers here in the cryptocurrency or like for example here in bitcoin, After crossing the ATH of 20k$ the market just exploded and that is the time when the bitcoin is trading and a lot of newcomers are also investing in bitcoin.

Bitcoin just exploded up to 60K$ which is pretty high from the past ATH of around 20k$, newcomers that don't have enough experience and just new to bitcoin are not used to dumps, because they think that the market will just continue to go bigger and bigger. That is why a lot of newbies lose a lot of money after the Tesla bitcoin announcement newbies easily panic sells dropping the price to around 30k$.

So I think Amateurs are a huge cause of these bubbles but at the same time they were needed to reach new Heights and increase the marketcap as they gain experience, the growth was huge and the next time the market comeback it will be a huge bubble again. We could totally reach even a 1million dollar price in bitcoin but it will be a big bump of the pump and dump that is going to happen before reaching that.

1430  Other / Meta / Re: How to earn merit on: June 26, 2021, 06:06:16 PM

~

Removing the merit would be a disaster because it can easily be abuse by the members and It is a big issue in the forum in the past years, because members can easily rank up a lot of members abuse signature campaigns and bounties here in the forum.

There was no guide about how to earn merits since the merit needs to be given by some other members here in the forum, You cannot guarantee merits even though you have a high-quality post. Some of your posts are posted in sections where merits are not commonly given like games and rounds, off topics, etc. so I guess you could focus on other sections where you help members like Beginners & Help.

The best way to do it is just to continue your journey in cryptocurrency and then share your experiences and answers some questions here in the forum in that way you are helping the forum to grow and at the same time, your gonna have a high chance of getting merits.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: June 26, 2021, 04:24:36 PM
For a business to build a reputation, it takes a lot of money and time to be invested to achieve this through marketing, brand awareness and all other activities.

But my question is why would they risk all they have invested to a few players by scamming them? I for one know the forum will side with the player that have been allegedly being scammed in most cases but how do casino's/bookies  protect themselves if not terms and conditions?

If people buy reviews to paint a picture of a good standing business,  what would stop the competition from buying people to tarnish a competitors reputation to have an advantage in the business?

The users or customers would always come back if they have a great experience in a casino or gambling websites, I guess with a new casino there is no way to know it is actually a legitimate one, but the scam casinos would always have a bad reputation and the humor are gonna spread really fast. People would always have bad reviews and would know if there are some sketchy things happening in a casino or a gambling website.

But with fake reviews people would need valid evidence, yeah it could affect some newbies from starting in the website but if they are someone who has a great experience with the website or casino they know that it is a legitimate website.

Similar to what reviews we have here in the forum, there are people who say that this gambling website is a scam but members would not believe that easily unless he proves it.
1432  Other / Archival / Re: Where is the bottom and what's next? on: June 25, 2021, 08:41:44 PM
yesterday's bitcoin price touched the bottom price at $28k after the strong support $30k breakdown,
and now the price bounced from $28k, but I don't know I really have to be careful if $30k breaks down again,
because it might go to $25k, put the stop lose and dont greedy, i dont know the bottom next, $25k? or we go down again.

It might go 25k$ but it will never stay at that market price, probably just a few minutes because I think that was just too low for the value of bitcoin, And a lot of investors will immediately buy back bitcoin if the price too that low, even below 30k$ the bitcoin market already has a big resistance at that price.

I think this is just a normal pullback since we are just so bullish in cryptocurrency this past month, the dump was actually great since we could accumulate a lot more bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, I mean buy it at a very low price.

When the market back up again the price would be x10 and the marketcap will be x3 of whats the ATH of bitcoin, so this is a big opportunity for investors who believed in bitcoin and crypto.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you be doing if there was no bitcoin? on: June 25, 2021, 08:13:13 PM
I just want to firstly thank Satoshi and all the early bitcoin devs for literally creating a whole industry. Without bitcoin and crypto I would stuck in an office job as a middle manager. Bitcoin literally gave me and many others a way out. I am able to now create and build projects that would not be possible without bitcoin due to massive barriers to entry in the legacy world. And I am so grateful to Satoshi and co.

With that being said. What would you be doing if bitcoin did not exist?

Being into the crypto space really gives me a lot of opportunity like investing in bitcoin, trading in the market, and making a profit on it. So many opportunities like doing signature campaigns, being exposed to blockchain games, etc.

I believed without bitcoin or if bitcoin doesn't exist I guess I'm not exposed to this financial stuff and probably I don't really have something or even savings, since I just save a lot and learn a lot when it comes to financials and investment when I started in cryptocurrency and bitcoin.

But for sure at some point, I wanted to have a small business and probably buy a small apartment so that I could buy a passive income, or maybe just invest everything on real states.
1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be Prepared for the big dump. on: June 21, 2021, 11:55:35 PM
Hi friends, from the title i said be prepared for the big dump of the market and why im saying that ? because first, we all know that all altcoins without any exceptions are affected by bitcoin price, and i will tell you to open trading view, go to bitcoin chart and choose the monthly chart and you will see something will freak the hell of you, a big tall candles without any red candles and all indicators are showing an overbought sign so i believe we will see a very big dump soon..

what do you think?

It's expected to happen, 2021 we are still up and bullish even though after the Tesla announcement and the Elon Musk tweets about bitcoin where they will not support bitcoin anymore or accept it as payment.

I mean no need to worry since it is impossible for the market price to go very low these days, there will be a huge resistance below 30k$ for sure.

Honestly, I like this dump since I could still accumulate more bitcoin if this continues and that gives us more time to buy more of the other potential altcoins for a lot more profit. Dumps are not negative, and its not a good time to sell after all red market means buy and the green market means sell.

1435  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect your valuable personal information by avoiding tempting offers! on: June 21, 2021, 10:22:28 PM
A common scams or probably phishing to get information from users, there are a lot of scams similar to this probably to get the prize your gonna need to pay a amount or they call you to and need your card number to deposit the prize.

This is too good to be true, most of the time it is all scams, so never entertain this type of email, don't click links from this kind of email because there are many clever ways to inject malware/virus or hack ur computer.

There are some people on youtube who mess with these scammers Grin wasting their time by giving fake card numbers and sometimes the scammer is the one who gets hacked.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador to revoke Bitcoin as legal tender? on: June 20, 2021, 07:54:16 PM
If the IMF had a choice between a world with no Bitcoin and a world with Bitcoin, I think it's fair to say they want Bitcoin gone.

IMF gives grants to small countries.

What will cripple Bitcoin more than Tesla announcing they will accept Bitcoin and then later revoking it? A country such as El Salvador announcing they will accept Bitcoin as legal tender and then later revoking it and claiming it didn't work out.

If we put one and one together, is it possible that IMF promised to increase grants to El Salvador if they accept and later revoke Bitcoin, in an attempt to de-legitimise Bitcoin?

Based on news that i've read like the development and projects plans etc. Is it very unlikely to happened that El Salvador wil revoke it, I mean yeah there is always a possiblity but they are already starting project on bitcoin, and it is just getting started. There are always a possibility but it doesnt mean it is gonna happened.

They need to test it out first if it is going to work or something so if they where gonna announce that there should be a huge reason why.

There is a huge difference on Tesla and El Salvador in my opinions, but using bitcoin as a national currency could be the next big thing that could probably be the reason for other countries to step up and look what El salvador achieved when it comes to bitcoin. But for sure if that happened there might be a big bumps in the price of bitcoin if bad news is announce.
1437  Economy / Speculation / Re: About time it crashed on: June 20, 2021, 07:29:43 PM
It went up at christmas as it usually does, but then it kept going up a bit.  $20-30K was about the reasonable price.

Then NFTs came along.  Like all bubbles they blew BTC up.  Then musk and doge took off and it went up further.  Finally coinbase floated and it hit is peak.

Coinbase flopped miserably, musk started bad mouthing btc and NFTs stalled.  It was all bound to end in tears.

Honestly, i see btc back in the $20K region before the end of the month.

We are still in a bullish even after the dump because of the Elon Musk tweets or the Tesla announcement about bitcoin. Because starting in the early 2021 we experienced a very big pump so probably most of us are still a lot bullish.

I dont really think that the bitcoin could go down to the point like what happaned in the past 2017-2018. I think it is almost impossible to go below 20k$ in the market. But because we need to have a correction i think market could still go down around 25k$.

There are a lot of market manipulation happening so the dump might be a effect of that but its a good opportunity either eay since the market will always bounce back.
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme tokens dangerous or moon on: June 20, 2021, 06:55:30 PM
This is a thread where we will discuss meme tokens that are unrugable and which can moon. We will detail steps to avoid being scammed. We will discuss signs that a token is going to moon. We will give updates on our offical meme token Jomon Shiba aka $JSHIBA.

In my opinion, these meme coins are dangerous and moon, the pump in this meme coin are just because of hype since they were just meme coin and has no utilities.

I wouldn't trust a thousand dollar investment to this kind of token that has no utility, the market price for sure is just gonna continue to go down after the hype of the token, something like SHIBA I just can't imagine a long term investment to this kind of token and something that the developer to does really make sense.

I guess if your lucky it could totally work but the risk in this kind of token is just too high to try investing a big amount of money, but maybe the hype could be worth it if you're lucky just like what happened to the DOGE coin.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 20, 2021, 06:16:47 PM
I want to understand if all altcoins are built upon the foundation of BTC. This is because when there is severe crash of BTC, all other coins, I mean all, also crash.

Is there no independence in the cryptocurrency world?

Thank you!

I mean most of the altcoins are dependent on the market price of bitcoin and you could totally notice that in the market when the market price of bitcoin pumping a lot of altcoins are pumping as well and vice versa when the bitcoin is a dump.

But at the same time, not all of the altcoins in the market are dependent on the price of bitcoin, I guess some are DOGE coin, XRP, etc. you could notice when the market is pumping sometimes are XRP and DOGE coin and going in a different way.

It could be because of the pairs or conversion of bitcoin to other altcoins but I'm not actually sure about the main reason for this but there is a huge connection between bitcoin and altcoins when it comes to the market price for sure.
1440  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel happy on getting merits ? on: June 20, 2021, 05:41:57 PM
I login my account and if i see my merit count increase, i quickly move to my merit section to see which of my post was merited and who gave me merit.
It gives a sense of pleasure and happiness on getting merits and for the whole day i remain full of joy.

Do you guys have similar feelings when your post get merited ?

I mean it does feel good if you received merit because it just means that someone appreciates your post here in the forum, I don't get a lot of merits recently so I feel good when I received 1, Of course at some point I also wanted to be a hero member or a legendary, but for someone who always receives a lot of merits, it might not matter anymore for them.

For some legendary members, it wouldn't really be that important since they are already legendaries, and probably the forum is already their hobby helping other members, etc.

The merits are not something that you could always get, still helping members and spreading information about cryptocurrency, making a discussion is the main point here in the forum.
