1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC owners in the world? on: February 28, 2014, 08:00:38 PM
Over 1 billion? You must be out of your mind.

I think it's a very small number.. like a few million at most.

1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: February 28, 2014, 07:37:14 PM

1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what can we do about Mark Karpeles now on: February 28, 2014, 07:12:04 PM
He seems like a really nice guy

Probably just sucks at business and communication
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So ... who spent money on Gox trying to buy $100 coins? on: February 28, 2014, 06:56:42 PM
I thought about it... then realized how stupid that would be
1425  Other / Off-topic / Re: The offical Mark Karpales lost bitcoins mems and funny pictures. on: February 28, 2014, 06:53:06 PM
repost:

Wait a second... the other guy is completely covered up in winter gear, it looks like it's snowing and cold outside... yet Mark is wearing a t-shirt sipping on a cold drink. Wtf?

confirmed: Mark = cold blooded
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Foundation done anything to help with recent developments? on: February 28, 2014, 06:02:22 PM
And btw, I have nothing against that Asian lady in Bitcoin Foundation and I wasn't trying to sound harsh. I'm sure she has good intentions and she's extremely gorgeous

They did offer a formal counter to U.S. Senator Manchin ban on Bitcoin, so there's that:

www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-foundation-senator-us-shouldnt-turn-away-innovation/

Quote
Dear Senator Manchin:

Not sure if it'll have any effect, but it's something. Undecided

Hmm, I guess that is something. Although I don't think that senator even deserves a reply because he's going nowhere with his effors to ban bitcoin form the US. If it was me I would just point out his blatant hypocrisy with is stance.

http://www.manchin.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2011/4/manchin-debuts-legislation-to-increase-national-focus-on-job-creation

Quote
“For far too long, Washington has not done enough to reduce our unacceptably high unemployment rates or make jobs this country’s No. 1 priority,” Senator Manchin said. “There is nothing more important than creating jobs, and it’s time that all lawmakers of both parties start thinking about one very simple question before they vote on bills: how will this affect jobs?"

Yeah senator, let's think about that simple question now... how will banning bitcoin affect jobs? Oh right, that doesn't apply now because you and your campaign sponsors (Chase bank) are directly affected by bitcoin. Fucking idiot

Actually i don't think we have the deserving and seriously Passionate+Credible members in BTC Foundation, there are so many others who are more deserving and worthy then current lot of members.! there should be some kind of transparency in selection procedure , just because someone is rich with BTC doesn't mean they represent all the BTC believers..!

Andreas Antonopoulos, Erik Voorhees, Fred Wilson, and Jerry Brito are the 'bitcoin foundation' in my view... these guys understand and represent bitcoin well.

You got Goxx'd
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Has Bitcoin Foundation done anything to help with recent developments? on: February 28, 2014, 05:29:35 PM
What does Bitcoin Foundation do exactly? Just wondering because they have not done anything as far as I'm aware. I have not seen them help solve any of the issues that have come across bitcoin since I've been involved. Do they have any say in bitcoin at all (I hope not)?

It's like the group was created to form a hierarchical structure in a non-hierarchical system. The members are a bunch of snakes like Mark Karpeles, that dude charged with money laundering (Charlie Shrem?), and some useless hot Asian woman who calls herself "Satoshi's Angel" obviously taking advantage of her looks to gain attention form bitcoin nerds.
1429  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Something Tells Me Mark Karpeles Could Care Less on: February 28, 2014, 04:53:05 PM
He is a psychopath, seriously.

How do you know?

He just seems like a typical overweight, shy nerd to me
1430  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you were invisible for a day? on: February 28, 2014, 04:50:53 PM
Girl's locker rooms/showers ... no question about it
1431  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Poll regarding Mark and his money. on: February 28, 2014, 04:15:13 PM
If you are talking about his net worth I'm sure he had well over $5 million just from running MtGox.

Now he's got a 700,000 or more btc bonus too. That's if he is actually committing a crime

How do you know these figures? And I'm not sure if he has committed any crimes - well, unless being guilty of running a shoddy business is a crime  Cheesy.

About his net worth? I don't but given that MtGox is one of the most well-known bitcoin exchanges in the world it definitely generated millions through fees, high traffic and ad revenue. I also heard that he didn't have any employees, just contractors

As far as him pocketing people's BTC, who knows. I don't like to point fingers before I know something for sure. I kinda feel bad for him, he probably has a bounty on his head...it's likely a lot of the shady early adopters from the Silk Road days had their BTCs in Gox

1434  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I lost 206000 dollars in MTGOX on: February 28, 2014, 12:30:43 AM
To be fair I really don't think he stole the bitcoins, I have a feeling people will get it back and it'll be a nice surprise for everyone

Wishful thinking but unless you know something we don't, this is pretty fucking remote at this point.

Its called DENIAL ...he was in so deep that he could not contemplate the reality

Its the same with Nigerian Prince 419 SCAMS ..they keep sending money because to face reality is too painful

... THIS FRAUD is the second largest in history... KARPELS needs to goto jail !!!

Yeah except, I've never used MtGox

I said the team are doing a great job. Did you even read my post? Was just commenting it's sad to see coins like this struggling when you have absolute **itcoins that are going to the moon.

I didn't mean it that way, my post came out wrong

1438  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Any ATLANTA, GA meetups?? on: February 27, 2014, 05:50:45 PM
How come none of you guys is on localbitcoin, was in ATL 2 weeks back and was  looking to trade bitcoin for cash and found none on localbitcoin..

Coinbase is much easier, and I don't want to get mugged... this is Atlanta
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: February 27, 2014, 03:12:04 PM
I really don't know what to think about MEOW.

I put 2 BTC in this at 60 satoshi and have just watched it evaporate into thin air, may as well have sent it to GOX...

Meanwhile most of the absolute shitcoins I've invested in this month have all given me tidy returns (6 BTC on CTM, 1 BTC on BEE - this probably isn't a shitcoin to be fair, 4 BTC on TOP etc). It's really sad that a truly innovative coin with probably the best dev team around is just being manipulated to hell... Or maybe it's true value is closer to 20, who knows?

I haven't sold yet btw, I'm just leaving my MEOW and I'll check the price in 6 months time. If it's still down then I will be cashing out though.

This isn't anything against the devs (as I said you guys are doing a fantastic job), this must be all the more depressing for you considering all the work you've put in to this. Kudos for sticking at it. Just a sad reflection on the state of the current altcoin market.

Give the team some credit, MEOW deserves better and it's still early to judge its fate. I'm down like 6 BTC but I will check back in 6months to 1 year before I become depressed
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the most stupid comment you've heard about bitcoin? on: February 27, 2014, 02:08:07 PM
Far too many...

Just read any bitcoin related article on Forbes, Business Insider or WSJ... and read the comments too.
