I don't think there is enough liquidity in DOPE to have it as a payment option. I've been thinking about shops with low liquidity coins and have come to the conclusion that the only way they will work is if the shop owner works for free. Devs work for free, shop owners should work for free also. Instead of trying to make money on a shop. Make money by increasing DOPEs popularity.

Good post Fartbags. There has to be a substantial eco-system built around DopeCoin. I think Price first and liquidity 2nd which is why I'm busy trying to create some initiatives to solve both. I'm not entirely sure what you mean that the store owner has take everything as free , but I think you mean with the hope of the DopeCoin price going up ? so they hold on to their stash ?

#1 thing for me is price. It has to be the cheapest place online. It also has to be possible to buy the coins. If I need 2,000,000 DOPE to buy something then I have to be able to buy them. I wouldn't spend coins that I'm saving.

Ex. I want to order something that costs $200 on your site because it costs $300 on other sites. I would go on bittrex and buy $200 worth of coins all at once. That is the amount of coins I would pay.

Price of items on a store are important I agree.  As a store you have to competitive in the pricing to drive an incentive to go purchase DopeCoin. Which in itself needs to be easy to buy also.

Quote
I can't stress how important it is for you to work for free and do not try to make money on this shop through sales. It will never work unless you are working for free.

I personally spend about $20,000 a year online. If you were working for free and selling me that same $20,000 worth of stuff for $15,000 then that would be $15,000 worth of cash going into DOPE just from myself.

Cryptocoins need more people using their skills for free. If you are a quality e-commerce store operator, that is a great skill to have supporting DOPE.

You could be correct. One thing I'm looking at is 'staking' accounts. So when users sign up they get some DOPE which in turn 'stakes'. So this is like an incentive to sign up to a service. For example, can you imagine if you had a betting site , and each time you logged in you got some DOPE in your account say $1-5 bucks worth over the last week. Its a great incentive to sign-up and use a service I believe.  Good post!

1422  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: net5ky - No Contact on: February 10, 2015, 06:12:19 PM
I have had user net5ky (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=205939) complete a job for me recently and in the terms he agreed to provide continued support in relation to the program he coded.

I hereby request that he contact me ASAP.

Good thing I didn't do anything with him as I just sent him a response. Be careful alot of scammers out there ...I have another who didn't come through on a job.

I hope everything that's stated in the OP will be implemented in the nearest future. All these points seems to be achievable.

What I also want to see (regarding technical features):

  • In-wallet encrypted IRC
  • iOS Wallet
  • Android Wallet (V2 had it)
  • Paper Wallet (V2 had it)
  • Web Wallet
  • Fiat Exchange

Yes, all the above is the pipeline. Things are going to start moving for DopeCoin.

Yikes, 43 sats on bittrex.  DOPE needs a pick-me-up

There was a reason behind this haha ...slight glitch over on SRR Wink  but, now failsafes are being worked out.

So just a little update early monthly update:

We should up and live on cointopay.com tomorrow if all goes good!

We are up!

This will help any merchants who want to accept DopeCoin at their shops who use:

  • Shopify
  • Wordpress
  • Ecwid

The other beautify of this , it allows people to exchange out of crypto to their currency of choice thus helping with any volatility typically associated with accepting cryptos.

Also, we have had success w/ the exchange of DopeCoin on SilkRoadReloaded.

Also, we are in talks with a few banking investors who have access to dispensaries and shops to help promote DopeCoin in their physical shops/online shops.

Also, new website is basically done and will be put up "live" shortly.

More to come thanks for being patient!

Doesn't look like they've developed a Zen Cart module yet but I'll get it figured out even if I have to process payments manually for a while.   I'm sure something can be patched together from other modules  that are available out there.   I'd rather deal with that then scrap Zen Cart.  It's something I've been working with successfully for years and my template barely resembles the vanilla framework.  I'd rather fix a flat tire than reinvent the wheel.

Also, there won't be any cashing out any time soon.   I will be holding all DOPE collected until the trading value hits at least 1k satoshi.  The whole point of this is to remove DOPE from the market to increase scarcity and at the same time drive up demand by offering products only in exchange for DOPE.   I've got a pretty nice selection of rare and interesting items to make for a nice store.  Also, unlike most other crypto only shops I've seen I plan on competitive pricing instead of over pricing.    The profits will come later when DOPE takes over the world. Smiley

Right, I figured they might not have all the options this is true. Yup, you will be the first shop to be soley collecting in straight DOPE which will be pretty cool. I agree we need to move some DOPE out of the market and create scarcity all the while driving up demand. Good points. We have some other merchants in the line-up , once we have the coin added to cointopay we can move forward to getting them started.
