Managing CPC advertising network requires a lot of work due to various methods of cheating from publishers and consumes a lot of server resources for the targeting options. Therefore it is just IMPOSSIBLE to provide service like CoinURL (or any other AdSense analog) without commission fees. If you want lower commission fees just choose pay-per-day model like Operation Fabulous offer, it can work on very tiny commission.

Jesus Christ, this is getting worse every minute.

CoinURL does not guarantee the return of funds from account balance.

What the hell, son?
This is just a legal thing to protect against lawsuits in case of some catastrophic event. Under normal conditions it will never happen, down worry! Many companies include "No warranty" clause in their ToS, it is a common business practice.
1424  Other / Off-topic / Re: WTF coinurl on: December 07, 2012, 06:46:19 PM
Just updated FAQ:
Quote
What is the minimum amount that can be deposited or withdrawn? What is the commission rate?
There are no limits to deposits and withdrawals. Withdrawal commission is 25%.

You can write that in your TOS all you want. Still won't make it legal.
It is absolutely legal and is a common business practice used by major ad networks. Read Google AdSense ToS:

Google may change its pricing and/or payment structure at any time.

So now it doesn't say anything anywhere on your site to tell users that you charge a 25% withdrawal fee?  Nice, real classy...
What? Really nowhere?

1426  Other / Off-topic / Re: WTF coinurl on: December 07, 2012, 06:36:54 PM
greyhawk, This commission was introduced about a month ago and was shown on the "Withdraw" page as "compulsory donation". I never concealed it.

P.S. Now I explicitly named it "commission fee" and wrote about it on main page and FAQ. There is no more indefiniteness.
1427  Other / Off-topic / Re: WTF coinurl on: December 07, 2012, 06:29:16 PM
When I have introduced this commission fee, I updated "Withdraw" page but just forgot to update info on front page and FAQ.
I am really sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced. Now all docs updated.
1428  Economy / Gambling / Peerbet.org - Play without house edge! on: December 07, 2012, 03:17:04 PM
I am happy to announce Peerbet.org - the first online gambling platform with zero house edge and without negative profit expected value for the players! It is really free: players compete against each other, not against the gambling site and there are no hidden costs or commissions. 100% of the revenue comes through ads.

In any casino or online gambling site like Satoshidice with non-zero house edge players will always lose playing long term, but in the truely zero-sum game (i.e. where no house edge or any other commission fees applied) players will NOT lose anything playing infinite long.

We offer raffle-style game in which users can create rounds with an arbitrary number of tickets (from 2 tickets to 10 million) and the price for a single one (from 1 Satoshi). This allows to choose any winning odds and profit expectation. When a game is created, players can start buying tickets and the game will be complete when all tickets sold and next Bitcoin block generated.

Peerbet is provably fair. When a game is created, we generate a random nonce and publish its SHA-1 hash. When this game is complete (all bets are made), we wait for the next Bitcoin block, and then concatenate its hash with the nonce's plaintext and use this value to determine the winner. This approach lets you to ensure that the Peerbet operator cannot possibly change the outcome of the game before it completes, or even to know its results ahead of time.

A code to determine the number of winning ticket:
Code:
function getWinningTicket($nonce, $blockHash, $ticketsTotal)
{
    $randMax = 268435455;
    $remainder = $randMax % $ticketsTotal;
    $output = -1;

    do {
        $hash = hash('sha256', $nonce . $blockHash);
        $randHex = substr($hash, strlen($hash) - 7, 7);
        $x = base_convert($randHex, 16, 10);

        $output = $x % $ticketsTotal;
        $nonce .= '0';
    }
    while($x >= ($randMax - $remainder));

    return $output + 1;
}

We store wallet with all funds off-site on the encrypted HDD and have its backup copy. Every 24 hours we perform backup of the database. Even if the server will be hacked, no funds will be lost. White hat hackers are welcome to check security of the server and report any vulnerabilities to me.

Good luck playing!

Peerbet is being owned and operated by Bit777 now!
1429  Economy / Services / Re: Set up a Bitping server; mostly done, has a walkthough, [.7btc] on: December 07, 2012, 12:56:47 AM
Why not just to use BitPing notification service without installing server scripts?
1430  Economy / Gambling / Re: [brainstorming] p2p gambling, no house edge? on: December 01, 2012, 03:16:47 PM
cool, I guess it would go.

I place a bet of 0.01 BTC, and it would pop up a bet on the board.
When someone matches my bet of 0.01 BTC.

One board would black out, lose, other person gets 0.02 BTC
effectively making it a 100% money back, or 50% 2.0X true odds.
And no house percentage!

For higher odds, like 90%. I place a bet of 1 Bitcoin.
And 9 other people join me.

9 people would get 1.1 Bitcoins, and one person would get 0 bitcoins.
Which would make it a Superior odds to satoshdice
from 98.1%>100%

For cutting transactions, you can make it that once 10 game bets
have been made, it goes through at a fee of 0.00005 instead of 0.0005.
cutting it by 1/10th.

I can't wait to see this implication, or this design  Smiley
I am developing the same way as you described + fairness verification. Will launch next week.
1431  Economy / Gambling / Re: [brainstorming] p2p gambling, no house edge? on: November 27, 2012, 10:43:04 PM
Wow really?
Yes, I am developing this site now. Architecture is ready, this game being designed to be provably fair with absolutely no chance to cheat for the operator and zero commission fees.
1432  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Predictability of the block generation time on: November 26, 2012, 11:07:51 PM
What do you think about this:

Generate some random string (nonce) on the server for each game, publish it's hash to the players. When all bets will be received, wait until next Bitcoin block appear. Concatinate plaintext of the nonce and block's hash, calculate new SHA-256 hash and use its least significant chars to determine the winner. Then publish plaintext of the nonce to the players.

Described method must ensure that game operator didn't knew game outcome before all bets accepted and cannot change it. Also it must prevent miners from cheating.
1433  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Predictability of the block generation time on: November 26, 2012, 09:24:22 PM
What about using 5 least significant (right) symbols from the block's hash? Is it possible for miners to cheat?
1434  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Predictability of the block generation time on: November 26, 2012, 09:08:49 PM
Is it possible to predict which timestamp will have next Bitcoin block?
I would like to use this value as seed to generate random numbers for the verifiable game.
1435  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How do I cash out a CoinURL voucher? on: November 26, 2012, 07:12:15 PM
CoinURL vouchers are similar to the Google AdSense coupons, so you can only spent them on advertising or sell to someone who need it.
1436  Economy / Gambling / Re: [brainstorming] p2p gambling, no house edge? on: November 24, 2012, 02:42:52 PM
Awesome idea! I have started development of the P2P gambling site yesterday, stay tuned!
1437  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [CoinURL] All ways to monetize your content! on: November 24, 2012, 12:50:45 AM
Now advertisers can see how much funds were spent on each ad on it's stats page.
1438  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: November 22, 2012, 03:55:36 AM
Merchants are not going to pour money into ads that have no ROI.
and the get paid to industry is just rife with that, which is why most places won't advertise here.
Many free Bitcoin faucets (e.g. Daily Bitcoins and CoinAd) don't urge their users to click ads and probability to win a prize does not depends if a user visited sponsor's website or not. So these clicks must be genuine.
1439  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [CoinURL] All ways to monetize your content! on: November 20, 2012, 08:25:31 PM
I see that now the 25% "donation" is "forced".
Will you maintain this choice in the future?
CoinURL operation costs increased recently and I cannot afford to cover these costs from my own money (CoinURL is a business entity, not a charity organization). May be commission fee will be reduced with the turnover increase.

Record high payout worth 3 BTC made to the one of our publishers!
