1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 28, 2023, 12:59:31 PM
You are right, some people who feel that it's good to deposit and play gambles first before verifying it kyc is the best, they are people who complain mostly in gambling websites, kyc verification needs to be done before involving in any act of things in a particular platform, because I believe that why some people do have issues in a particular platform is because they refuse to follow the instructions of gambling platform I know, so in particular gambling platform you need to study their requirements first before associating or working with them properly.

They get what they wanted, though. People who aren't really taking the time to review everything and not act upon what they find are the ones who are really asking for trouble. They already know the possibility, and they already tried the game. What else do they need to find out? If other people are already submitting KYC docs to the casino, what stops them from doing the same anyway?
People don't like verifying their accounts and that is causing alot problems to the participants of gambling in a particular gambling site, what a platform needed in gambling is that you have to know their kyc is necessary and I believe that anyone that have done their Kyc have no issues to that particular platform but gamblers does not show concern of verifying their accounts expect that they have issues of withdrawing their money. So it's good to work in accordance with your platform not by complaining when everything is getting late to resolve
It still baffles my imagination on how a gambler will open a gambling account with a gambling site and won't consider completing the comprehensive requirements that's needed for the verification of his account before going further to deposit money into that account for gambling use. Only to get back wailing and throwing tantrum when gambling fortune smiles on him he won an appreciable sum of amount of money and is being restricted from making withdrawal by the gambling site sighting his incompletion of kyc to that account.

Every institution has their a module of operation and any client that doesn't appeal to it's operations is free to check for an alternative that meets his need, and not to forge ahead with that which he's not appealing with. Maybe some of these gamblers ain't aware that it's illegal to make withdrawal from a kyc required gambling site whem you haven't completely kyc to that account.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 28, 2023, 12:39:13 PM
What is the benefits of gambling to your society?
Gambling is mainly viewed in the negative lens of it by many people in our various societies no doubt gambling has a negative impact on people especially when they have  lost control of their gambling activities but on the other side of the divide gambling has been playing a key role behind the scene by the taxes they pay to government of the state they are located in and also providing employment to  citizens of that society whereby taking a number of unemployed out of the unemployment list in that society. With those taxes payed to government a positive influence can be felt on areas like security, and other sectors of the country economy depending on where the choose to channel such money to.

Hello everyone,

It's been a week now since I eventually create my account on this forum but yet to understand anything at all and believe I have tried my best to read some of things or article but the whole site is a little confusing so I thought many seniors here could guide me and direct on what and how to go about everything.

1425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: August 27, 2023, 02:59:48 PM
I was waiting for the price of BTC to reach $40k in this month of August, before I will believe that $69k is possible before the end of this year 2023 which is the wish of many investors in the community.
You don't wish when talking of the price of bitcoin you just have to get your conclusion/speculations through after doing your technical or fundamental analysis, you don't base your investment on wishes. Even when analysis is done before giving speculations about the future price yet it doesn't work as speculated not to talk of a wish.
Quote

But the price started decreasing from $30k to $26k to create a great fear into the mind of those that is hoping for the price to increase above $30k before they can start thinking of how to visit the market to supply to make a good profits. With this slow move of the price of BTC in this season, I don't think the price will hit back to $69k before the end of this year because the green light is not stable like the way it was stable last two years to reach $69k for both long term investors and short term investors to experience huge amount of money from their investment. Do you believe that there is still hope for investors to experience $69k this year? Because we just have 3 months and some weeks before the end of this year. What is you hope for this current price?
Wether we like it or not, the all time high will not be possible by end of this year as we had earlier thought of from beginning. With the current bitcoin price at 26k$ right now we can't tell if it will go down below or go higher above 40k by the end of this year 2023, I can't say about hitting back the 69k$ ATH, but if you're a good holder continue holding the bull run we all expect is possible at most by 2025.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: Blackrock invest in ukraine on: August 27, 2023, 01:42:21 PM
That's what US always wanted! If you think the Russia - Ukraine war is happening because of Putin, you are living in fool's paradise.

I agree, Zelensky should be nominated for an Oscar soon. Seriously though, things like this have been happening since First World Governments were formed. As normal, regular people we will never know what is really going on behind the scenes.
The problem of wars all over the different parts of the world instituted  from when the formation of world powers emerged and the means to keep their present state of affairs unhindered will only lead to war after another war which may or may not indirectly involved their flags but their interest will unveil their involvement anyway.

The victims of a truth are the regular people because they don't know what's going on behind the scene but are convinced by what the different state media choose to deliver to their mind. If I were to have a say I will choose to stay neutral about this nonsense called war for the sake of widespread peace because it is the taking of sides that still makes the war linger.
1427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with enforced tax on: August 27, 2023, 11:55:38 AM
When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with more steps on a transparent ledger with enforced tax aka network fee.
Taxes with fees are different by definition.
It's probably only now that we're hearing bitcoins are just fiat with taxes imposed after you leave those opinions here.

Taxes are paid to the state by citizens who are domiciled in that country. There are taxes that are mandatory, personal, income tax like me living in Indonesia. Tax paid by citizens to because they have used state facilities.
Bitcoin in transactions and mining are not taxes, they are called fees.
OP lacks an understanding of the difference between tax and fees and that's why he can ignorantly come up with this type of information about bitcoin. He needs to go back to the drawing board and strategize more and more because this just propaganda didn't hit as he had expected but a failed mission to mislead newbies about bitcoin and fiat difference.
Apart from all other explanations established by members about why the fees are attached to bitcoin mining and transactions, we call all attest that factors like inflation , centrality and control by government that's known to fiat are not associated with bitcoin.
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: invest what you can loss. on: August 27, 2023, 06:45:46 AM
Investing on what you can afford to lose is next to risk management with your money but some investors not wanting to miss out of the opportunity presented decides to pull all resources at ones into the project in the expectation to truck a whooping profit in the shortest possible time only to get betrayed by the market leading to collosal loss. Cryptocurrency is not a get rich quick money-making-machine technology and the earlier people understands the more beneficial it will be for them, and the more longer they will exist, learn and benefit from the market in the long run.

1430  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All business need to risk, so not only crypto! on: August 26, 2023, 04:30:28 PM
All businesses involve risk so the reality is that you should have the ability to take risks.

Everyone says crypto Is high risk is it really true? My guess is less because a lot of people have had success with this crypto.
Some are investing and some are making a lot of money by trading. So why can't you?
This statement can be very deceiving for many people who doesn't have a deep understanding of it. Trading is not meant for just anybody, there are plenty was to make money through bitcoin and it's not only embedded in trading. Everyone needs to look inwardly to grasp where his strength lyes and struggle to take advantage of it in their best interest.
Don't trade because a neighbor or friend is trading and doing great, it may not align fine for you if it's not for you. All believe for sure requirements risk but you still need to lookout for that which you can be in charge in managing the risk.
1431  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save in Stable Coin Or Save in Local Currency? on: August 26, 2023, 03:11:21 PM
As a novice in crypto, I want to take enough time to learn more on how the market works before investing. But I'm really concerned on how to keep my money safe as I await the right time to invest.

Do you think it's better to save in stable coin like usdt or I should just keep the money in the bank?
If you're from a country with a devalued currency to the USD it will be better you save in stable coin like the usdt. In my opinion you shouldn't save it in a domiciliary bank account as other members has opined, domiciliary account opening the process is usually tiring with kyc requirements from the banks. A better advantage is to use a decentralized exchange that's kyc free without a questionable reputation and good security system in saving your to stable coin. You may curious why Dex? It's for privacy protection for those who which to keep their personal data away from the public.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 02:35:26 PM
The most important thing is never to equate Manchester United in the past with Manchester United so far. It's definitely different.
Manchester United are currently struggling and Manchester United's efforts under the coach of Erik ten Hag will be successful.
You are confused by the current Manchester United game which is said to be disorganized, does not look like there is a leader in the team and so on. There are lots of other people out there who are more confused than you because they most likely don't understand football.

Many impromptu observers who recently appeared to provide an analysis of a team, if asked specifically what was the background of the analysis could not give a clear answer.

Ten Hag will be much more demanding this season as he has already been given enough time to put together a team that he thinks can win the Premier League. But the first two matches showed that Manchester United are now far from their optimal form, they played the first match with the Wolves not very confidently but still managed to win, but the match with Tottenham showed that he team has problems.
This is an indisputable fact especially looking at the statistics of the previous 2 matches, more than 30 shots they took but less than 10 on target and 1 goal that can be converted proves that their finishing is really bad in the start of the season this time.
Ten Hag must try to exploit Manchester United's attacking line more now because it will be troublesome if it continues like this.
This week they will face Nottingham Forrest, overall I am still quite confident for Manchester United and indeed they must bring 3 points in this match so that it can be a good capital before facing 2 tough matches (Arsenal and Brighton) so considering this Manchester United must win in today's match.
This is the reason I sometimes find it difficult to believe in United performances while their performances have always been inconsistent unlike when they still had past glory which had very good quality compared to what it is now.
I have bad thought about Erik Ten Hag that he will really fail to bring United back to its former glory because last season and this season there have always been problems in terms of performance on the pitch and it looks bad when United players are unable to score goals. or defend his own goal.
This would really punish Ten Hag as a coach who only made vague promises to lift United again but the results were disastrous.
Another day to remind Manchester united how terrific their defensive midfield is this season and need reforming.  Too much of defensive errors and if it continues this way it's going to be tough on Onana affecting his confidence on the goalpost.
Nottingham forest are not taking chances converting their first two goals on target to their favour. Although it's currently 2-1 now with Nottingham leading the game in the first half. My guts are that if the score line ends as it is now then this game is going to end in a stalemate 2-2 draw.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 26, 2023, 02:18:41 PM
I think saving money in gambling isn't bad idea especially for people who are always gambling and doesn't have specific time to place bets.
You may think it isn't a bad idea but do you really think a gambler can successfully save money  in his gambling account especially for a gambler that's always placing bet? He could be propel at some point to increase his wager amount in the hopes of testing his luck and end up whisking that savings to a horrible loss.  And also, when a gambler has money resting in his gambling account he can't be sure of not regularly using it but then how can he save if he regularly gamble with the money.

Quote
That being said, it also worthy to note that despite the numerous security measures taken by these sites to protect their customers accounts, the gambling sights are still very much hackable. So since the total control of what happens in the sites isn't in the hands of the users, it's not advisable to save money there.
The danger amounted to saving your money in a gambling site account is tantamount to same danger in saving your money in centralized exchanges. Just as you clearly said, they are hackable, and the gambler is not in complete control of his account, the gambling site has access to the account.

Anyone that avoids a Cex for these reasons will in likewise avoid taking the decision of having their savings in his gambling site account, it's enormously risky.
1434  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Alt account or loan defaulter [Obari] on: August 25, 2023, 06:03:20 PM
I respect your decisions sir but I think it will be fair enough if you give me some clue to why you turned me down because last I checked, I haven't failed not even for once on my loan terms and I've been very respectful in time past and the only time it seems I got you angry was because I wasn't familiar  with sending usdt on binance and I use a Samsung  s9 with a poor battery health and the phone went off in the middle of our conversation  which I responded to as soon as I got the phone charged.

I've known sakanwa from childhood and I can always attest for him and since my phone has been bad, I've  been logging in my account with his phone most times and it has really dragged me backward for over three weeks or so because I haven't been able to meet up with my work in my signature  campaign because I have to share sakanwa's phone with him and you know mistakes do happen and sakanwa is a totally different  entity  all together which i believe  many other persons might know him in person in the local board and I have been pairing with him on his phone and if something like this happens then is a mistake.

I want to correct that Obari isn't a loan defaulter neither do I have any alt what so ever.

Lack of constant power supply is one big torn on the flesh for majority of the people from those third world developing countries (like myself I don't engage in trading when am with a low battery below 50% charge as I can't afford losing my money due to a flat phone in the middle of my trade) and it's more worsen for those persons using phones with poor battery as it can mess them up at any point not minding how important whatever shit they  are executing is to you. So @Obari I can relate to your alibi from that angle that's if it's coming from a place of truth.

Am not trying to give some clumsy excuse in your behalf but I think I'll agree with @Giftedman, your health should be of cardinal concern for you to attend to at the moment as the issue on ground you're head on to resolving is secondary to life(health they say is wealth) and can be resolved when you're back in good health, you can't be dealing simultaneously with the tension from your health and forum allegation at same time.

Meanwhile I am very disappointed at loan seekers like @Sakanwa, so apply every means necessary to get to him to clear his loan, it is someone's business and shouldn't be joked with as am not in support of such attitude of borrowers  towards people's business.
1435  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: August 25, 2023, 04:38:58 PM
       -   You, yes, you. Are you tired? Can't make progress? Or every time you move forward, something bad always happens? Are you in a situation where you have to start from scratch again? Where does your problem start? in money? Why do you always have no money?

Are these problems really related to finance  Huh  Finance problems happen when you have enough money but you are unable to manage it properly.
Not exactly only when you have enough money but unable to manage it, financial problems also  encircle not having enough money yet not been able to optimally maximize that insufficient money too.
Both that man that has enough and the man that has not enough but can't manage it well are both suffering from financial problems.

Number[1]  will be more effective than the number[2] this is because those  books on solutions to finance related problems are professionally writing down,  to tack specific financial issue based on research study and experiences of scholars in the field and not some random suggestions to resolving financial problems as may arise from members in the forum which can get the person seeking for a solution to a certain financial problem get confused by the  contradictory suggestions that will be giving by different forum members.

1437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are getting innovative. on: August 25, 2023, 02:23:30 PM
The risk in being an online worker is so high with many unsuspecting and unlucky ones falling victim to scammers on a daily that's why strict carefulness and security in these line of work shouldn't be neglected because a slim mistake can lead to a big loss that may not only affect you in person but extend to other people linked to your business.

You are correct, mate, despite the high risk attached, some people are just still careless about their security. There was a thread created some weeks ago where the member expressed how his assets worth about $100k were hijacked from his wallet. Although it was hard to believe, but with the transaction hash he provided, the evidence was just there. I really do feel sorry for some of these victims, who lose a great sum of money every day. Even lately, there has been some new malware that has been developed to easily track and absorb user privacy details and compromise such users security. This gives us more reason to be very careful and handle our security with paramount importance.
If there's anything someone should put so much paramount on after owning some coins it should be security. Security is important in this space of tech and can't be overemphasized because on a daily new malware's and tricks are being invented by these scammers and dark web users to be able to gain access into people wallet either by owner's misgiving or through some sort of brute force. When we invite people to adopt bitcoin for their use we should also press emphasis as a reminder to them about the aspect of security and possible measures they case take to avoid being victimized or financially wasted.

There are newbies that got scammed or wallet hacked in their very beginning of adoption of bitcoin and the experience scared them away thinking that the might loss more money should they continue again. But when we emphasize about the security side of it to them as we do with the profit making aspect I believe it will save a lot of them from experience those losses from start to finish.
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: August 25, 2023, 02:00:36 PM
What do you think about this?
Introducing Bitcoin to someone is good for the growing demand on the market, but that's not always a good thing, because in the future when something happens, and he can't face the market consequence, he will blame you and may ask you to return his money. Maybe the best way to acquaint Bitcoin to someone is to introduce him to something like a website, game, or anything where the payment is Bitcoin. Make him like the game you introduce, so when he needs chips or game souvenirs, he must use Bitcoin to pay. I believe you don't need to tell him anything about bitcoin, he will find himself what is bitcoin and how to use it because he needs it.

What is your reason for investing in bitcoin? I guess it's profit and it's everyone's need. I mean if you recommend bitcoin to others but don't talk about its benefits but just recommend it through game, website...Will that work? When we want others to be interested in what we recommend, we need to see if they have a need and when it comes to profits, no one refuses. But speaking of other things I don't think it would work if they didn't have a need for it.
@sarah Azhari what will make someone to blame you for the loss of his money is either you didn't explicitly explained to him about the pros and cons of whatever investment you were introducing him to, or you accepted his money to use it to invest for them which is also not advisable. It's only within this circumstance that the person can put blame on you should he lose his money.

Also, by way of using games and some kind of souvenirs as means to introduce people to bitcoin is just another tedious path to embark on for someone that's just getting to know about a tech he is ignorant of. And by games, the perception of the person towards bitcoin might be confusing to something of a child's play. If we're to introduce anything aside from bitcoin to anyone for the first time we should make sure to use a mature but simplified means. I think that can help much better.

1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons Taken from Previous Bull Markets: How Will Your Approach Change? on: August 24, 2023, 07:39:40 PM
.

Getting Ready for the Next Bull Run: If there's another big run coming up (we hope so!), it's a smart time to think about what you'll do differently. Are you planning to keep your investments for longer and not sell too soon? Or maybe you're thinking about taking some money out at certain points? Do you have a new way to handle risks in mind? Whether you're into looking at charts, doing research, or just keeping a cool head, lots of us would love to hear your thoughts.

Expectantly there's another bull just ne the corner and it's thoughtful to have prior plan on how and what to do.

After the bull run take place and profit made it won't sound like a wrong idea to cash out the profit and use it to invest into other real life business. The essence of the waiting and HODLing was to gain and take profit anyway. Or

Convert your total bitcoin to a stable currency like usdt and wait for when the bull run elapses and bear market takes over to an appreciable price comfortable to you then buy and hold again for another four year bull run. (I think this will work fine for long term investors if they could have the enduring discipline to hold the usdt conversion till when the market go bearish as expected.). Lol.

I just have to stick to my strategy in as much as it's still working out so well for me, why the change of strategy when that which you have is giving you the expected results. If what you doing is working then it's expedient the right decision is to keep a cool head.

1440  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i'm aware to do kyc on Crypto project on: August 24, 2023, 06:04:12 AM
Generally nobody likes to undergo kyc but it's the urgency and necessity of the project that makes us give out our details granting us access to now be able to make use of such project. But if you feel you can't give out your details then there are alternative exchange with no kyc requirements, it all depends on what you're looking for and from which you can get what you're in need of.
When dealing with exchanges be sure to make use of exchanges with good reputation over the years, in the crypto industry reputation is an essential commodity that every crypto user should be interested in about an exchange before going on to register with it. For an exchange like binance even though been a Cex, owing to their reputation I doubt it's in the business of selling out customer's details to some dark web.
