Still debating whether or not VPS mining XMG would pay off ..... 5$ / month for a single core...but then again I've only made 3 XMG over the past day running between 2-3 cores off my i5-4670k....

Anyone have recommendations?
Are you in the proof of mining?
Think that might be a good option.

http://cryptomining-blog.com/4644-coin-magi-xmg-2nd-proof-of-mining-campaign-launched/

Yes, I'm in the m-hash pool now...but as I don't even know the value of 1XMG, I'm not really sure if it's worth purchasing a VPS to mine with...

I'm still quite new if you couldn't tell  Wink Wink

The reason there are so much fuds is because many of the altcoins are scam.
There are many people who lost their btc in all the scam altcoin. They are frustrated and are jealous of the few promising altcoins.

A question I have been pondering ( I'm still learning, bear with me here Kiss ):

If so many altcoins are found out to be scams, why are they still traded on exchanges?

Someone asked me this, and I replied with 'because they still held value in other people's opinion'.  I did add that it was just my guess, but now it's keeping me up at night!

People shout 'scamcoin here' or 'scamcoin there' and I travel to Poloniex (or any trading site) only to see their value jumping drastically or pitfalling...

 Huh

Would you guys recommend VPS mining?  The idea is tempting, and I'm already 50% through account creation...someone stop me before I go too far... Grin

I'm enjoying the shared pool mining through my CPU, but the idea of using a VPS intrigues me!  Has anyone had luck in doing this?

How do I confirm these, so that I receive my credit?

http://imgur.com/TqOBNfl

I'm guessing I have to obtain at least 1 XMG?

You don't have to. It will go automatically.
Just wait and after while it says confirmed!

Cool, thanks!

....so my wallet (I linked my wallet address when setting up the worker's account) will begin to see payments, even if I haven't set up an automatic payout threshold?

No you have to go to My Account -> Edit Account scroll down to Cash Out.
But the Fee is much lower if you setup a Automatic Payout Threshold.

Ok, that's what I figured.  What sort of threshold would you recommend I set, if I'm going to be mining lightly? For example, over the past three hours I've only accumulated .02 XMG.....

I still feel like I'm missing out on the community aspect of Magi, how's the IRC activity?  Any other groups I could join, so that I can better acquaint myself with our fellow upstanding Zoroasters?

Great to see people help eachother! Well done guys!
Happy mining OBAViJEST! Smiley

Thanks!  Nice group of users we have here Smiley

On the subject of mining, how will I know if i find a new block?  & how are payouts handled?  Should I set a 'automatic payout threshold' in CoinMagi Pool?

Awesome!  Now what? Wait and let it mine, I assume?

I'm using wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2-x64-0204:

and its running my CPU at 100%   Shocked any way to lessen this load to 20 or 30%?

Glad I can finally be of service  Grin Grin
Add -t switch to your command. This switch tells minerd.exe how many thread (cores) to use. try something like:

Code:
minerd.exe -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://mining.m-hash.com:3334 -u obavijest.obavi -p WorkerPassword -t 2
and change 2 to any number of cores you wish to use. And of course it depends of how many cores your CPU have...

Awesome!  Thank you so much for all the help - I'm mining 1% pool fee and 1% donation Wink how far along this mining pool are we?  What should I look for down the road?

Cheers!

I have Magipool XMG Miner set up now!

But 'Stratum Authentication' has failed....any idea how to fix this?

Thanks again.

Code:
minerd.exe -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://mining.m-hash.com:3334 -u obavijest.obavi -p WorkerPassword
and change your WorkerPassword...
Should work now

Am I doing it right???

Ok, so I have:

1. an account and worker on http://pom.m-hash.com/
2. XMGminer & CMpool folders
3. a batch file (from http://pom.m-hash.com/index.php?page=gettingstarted)
4. m-wallet (almost finished synchronizing)

Now what?  Where do I place the batch file - in my m-wallet directory?  How must I configure XMGminer/CMpool?

My CPU's hash rate is ~27 kh/s, by the way...

Thanks again for the help, and please bear with me!  I won't pack up and leave this project once I'm all set up Smiley

Put batch file in folder where is minerd.exe and start it.
Batch file can look like:
Code:
minerd.exe -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://mining.m-hash.com:3334 -u YourPoolLogin.WorkerName -p WorkerPassword

if everything is ok you will get something similiar to:

should .bat and minerd.exe be in a specific wallet directory?  and do I need to change minerd.exe to minerd-x64-haswell.exe in the batch file?

When trying to run the executable, nothing happens

Hi @OBAViJEST

Are you from Croatia?  Grin
You can register on http://pom.m-hash.com/ if you have smaller hash rate (< 250 KH/s).
This pool give you some extra bonus. Please read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028548
Currently pow.magipool.info is near CPU overload.

Hehe, no...I just hold an affinity towards their land & language Wink

I'm still syncing magi wallet with the network....and I've signed up on pom.m-hash and created a .bat with my workername & password

How do I determine my CPU's hashrate?  & what should I be preparing to accomplish once I finish the 'Getting Started Guide' on CoinMagi pool?

Once I get squared away with set-up, I'll gladly make a nice donation in exchange for all the help Smiley  always glad to pay it forward when receiving help like this!  Thanks in advance!

edit: found the equation for hashrate estimate.  brb!

Hi Magicians,

I'm interested in helping Mine XMG, but this will be my first time!  Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have just downloaded the wallet, and currently reading up on magipool.info (Which has CLOSED their registrations!!)....any helpful tips I should familiarize myself with / precautions that I should be aware of or avoid?

Thanks!

(this is my first post, so congrats on bringing me out of my shell!)

What pool should I sign up with?
